Istanbul Kebab in Leeds

Went in for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday. Absolutely worst experience. Ordered shawarma wraps, adana kebab with naan and chicken wings. We were served with reheated / fried shawarma in a cheap wrap instead of proper Turkish bread as shown on the menu. Adana kebab was served on cold supermarket naan for which we paid £10.00. £33.00 paid for the worst food we ever had. Did share the experience with the person who served us. He informed us it was management's decision to use the supermarket naan instead of fresh naan. Serving reheated food to customers is dangerous practice and could result in food poisoning. Please avoid it at all costs for your own good.

Gave us mint yogurt instead of garlic mayonnaise We asked for it changing and they handed us it back exactly the same They were rude and gave us dry and flavourless garlic bread it was like a stone Don’t go to them

Guys u gotta stop wrapping the paper so deep into the wrap but thanks anyway

Best kebab shop in England The salesman is super correct, the food is just amazing, and as if that wasn't enough, he even played our own song! I've never felt so welcome - almost like I was at home. I have no idea what happened there, it felt like I was in the club, but somehow this place developed me further. I'm a better person now. 10/10, definitely come back!

Nicely decorated, only had chips and chili sauce but the sauce was minted and also tomatoey which was delicious. And the guy who served me and my girlfriend really looked after us while I was having a bad night. Total gentleman.

Had a mixed chicken & doner kebab and a chicken shawarma. Both dishes tasted pretty nice, however the small portion size and no sauce choices were a huge let down - especially for the money they're charging.

We went in last night about midnight, food was cold, my mate said his donner kebab was red and today we have both got food poisoning - first and last time I go here. Disgusting vile takeaway!!!

I went in very drunk, as you do in the early hours of the morning, and the horrible man behind the counter purposely charged me an extra £20 for my food - TWENTY POUND!!! Luckily I realised and made him give me my money back! But I honestly couldn’t believe it, be careful!!!!!

The sweet memories of youth always bring my back to this place. I still believe it's the best falafel you can get in Leeds. Nowt as zesty, aromatic and quick as this place. Red cabbage so on point. But the chips are ceffing boiled charva. Post or pre night owt it's great... But room for improvement. Little needs to be done to make it goated. BAAASSHHH

Raw chips very little chicken kabab meat. Will never go back, rip-off prices.

Professional team with minimal wait times hot food and very high quality ingredients. The price was very adequate and the atmosphere felt very welcoming as well as very homely. Loads of options but I would recommend the wings on chips or the chicken shawarma on chips. Overall one if my favourite places to eat in Leeds especially after a long day.

Today, I got Edna Kebab and rice from them, it was similar to anything except Edna Kebab, hard, bad taste, and there was no lamb meat at all,I do not recommend at all

Huge portion!!! We bought one donner on chips to share, definitely worth the price for this amount of food! The food was nice, might need a little bit of salt for our taste. But overall, would recommend.

Honestly awful experience. I got in there and saw that a dinner kebab + chips + drink were £7.50 once i asked the cashier for that exact order i was told it’s £9. I then ordered a standard lamb donner with chips and proceeded to be served a mixed donner with chips i then asked them if they mixed up my order and proceeded to deny it stating that is what i ordered. My friend also dropped a ring that held a lot of meaning under the kebab counter. I kindly asked if they could retrieve the ring from under the counter but they refused to telling us to wait 5 minutes and after then proceeding to tell us they wouldn’t do it. My friend had to reach under this filthy kebab stand just to retrieve the ring. Honestly overall it was an awful experience and i would not recommend this place to anyone.

The atmosphere here was lovely, i met a lovely woman in the seating area. However, i lost a very important ring that fell on the servers part of the resteraunt. I asked them if they could pass it to me, my friends asked if they could pass it over, even a woman i didnt know; and yet they said there was nothing they could do despite the fact they could see it. On top of that, the portions were small and they mixed up several of my friends orders. In my 6 years of experience in customer service i would never dare treat a customer they way they treated me. They were rude and unappreciative of the fact we were spent our hard earned money at their space. I will never go back. On top of this, the prices they displayed were incorrect and not what they charged us; we were, infact, overcharged, and not happy about it. Sort it out, or you will find yourself out of business.

Terrible experience at this kebab shop, the prices on the screen don’t even match the prices they charge you, and it certainly wasn’t worth the prices they end up charging you, furthermore, they weren’t willing to help a friend who had lost a very important ring under the counter, even when it was directly next to their feet, unhelpful to say the least

best kebab i have ever had the pleasure of eating. their chicken shawarma on chips is second to none. I love it. the salad options are superb, you can pick whatever you want. the donner is thick and tasty, none of that thin pale nonsense. chips always piping hot and fresh, the only kebab shop i would consider going to on a date. thank you. only con is that it’s not bigger! gets very busy on a night out. time to upsize guys you’re quality. Do I’d have it for breakfast if only it was open! HIRE ME !

Best kebab in Leeds - shorkran is the best

First tried Istanbul Kebab after seeing Danny give a glowing review on RateMyTakeAway and he was absolutely spot on. The owner is one of the most friendly, welcoming hosts one could wish for, and the food is of exceptional quality. Fresh salad, beautifully baked breads, perfectly seasoned meats, and one of the most delicious chilli sauces to top it all off. Incredible value for such delicious food and generous portions. I’ve dined in and taken out numerous times, and everyone who I’ve introduced to Istanbul Kebab has become a fan. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

The chips here are RAW and not cooked, and expensive!! £5 for chips and cheese!!!! We all sent our chips back because they weren't cooked, after 10 mins they gave us new chips - exactly the same!! So pale and the insides were actually hard and raw!! It made one of us sick later cuz the chips were raw! So bad. I don't know why this place has good reviews. AVOID!!

Paid £9 for a 7" 4 slice garlic bread with raw chips. Explained the chips were raw and he ate one and said it was fine. Left without the chips. They looked anemic.

On the 3rd June 2024 after midnight myself and wife shared a kebab and drink and was charged £8 twice so it shows on statement as paid by card my bank looking into it hopefully a mistake that should not happen but called in shop today Tuesday and I got refund and manager and staff were very understanding and even gave me a kebab on the house as it was machine problem thank you

A hidden gem near Corn exchange. Good portions at good price, quite thick pieces of juicy tender meat with loads of salad. Turkish naan and vegetarian options available as well.

Hit the spot after a long journey! Istanbul Restaurant near Leeds bus station was a lifesaver after my late-night return from London. They were the only place open, and their pizza was exactly what I needed. Cheesy, flavorful, and surprisingly affordable, it satisfied my cravings perfectly. Definitely recommend for anyone in a similar situation.

We had two shawarmas today and it was delicious and the fries were really fresh. We could only see one person in the front counter but he managed everything efficiently.

I ordered chicken wings amongst other things and they sold spoilt chicken wings at on overcharged price. When questioned, staff became rude, defensive and non-transparent on request for receipt. Acted like he didn’t understand English after clearly overcharging for the meals ordered. This particular food had potential to cause food poisoning. And it was a similar experience to someone who ordered same day as well.

Tried here for the first and last time,the doner meat was bland it needs spicing up a bit,the salad was overpowering with green chillies.

Terrible food, abusive staff Would give it a negative rating if there was an option to do so. I ordered a pizza, after waiting for it for over 25 min, I was served cheese on burnt bread. When told the staff that the bread is burnt, the guy on the counter literally asked me if I was on drugs Avoid this place when you can

Loved their food, service and atmosphere. Been there several times, and everytime they have welcomed us with their great service and amazing food. I think, the last time I have been there Ali was assisting us, and he was very helpful. Met the chef afterwards, he is a gifted talent. Highly recommend ❤️

First time here ordered mix shawarma with naan and chips comes with salad sauces. Very tasty decent portion for price and my other half ordered a chicken kobeda with rice and salad. Also was nice. The Turkish Naan Shawarma is probably the best bread I have had in Leeds. Absolutely delicious, soft and just easy to eat. Ali, the employee I spoke with, was also so helpful in deciding what to get, and suggested the best toppings.

I experienced severe food poisoning after dining at the kabab place, and to my shock, I witnessed one of the kitchen staff members playfully handling a collection of balls with his coworkers. Adding to the ordeal, when I inspected my meal, I found a hair in my kabab. It was a deeply unsettling and unsanitary experience.
