Istanblue in Oldham

Nice meal but nothing to write home about.

1st visit and I'm not really used to Turkish food. I was quite shocked at the prices tbh. My beef wasn't as tender as I was hoping but wasn't tough to be be fair. Service charge was included in the final bill. Pleasant atmosphere excellent service.

I booked a table on the website on Saturday 15th February at around 16:30 - this went through and I received a confirmation email. The booking was for 20:30 so we showed up on time to be told by a rather unfriendly man that our booking wasn’t relevant because they needed 24 hours notice. So I asked why we were able to make a booking and receive an email confirming it with no mention of a 24 hour notice period. The response was very dismissive and belligerent, the gentleman said we could have a table in 15-20 minutes and then walked off. Due to his attitude and the ridiculous suggestion that we should have given 24 hours notice despite the booking being accepted, we decided to leave. I’m sure the food is good but we’ll never know because we won’t be returning. They clearly need to review their online booking system so it does not accept bookings they won’t uphold.

Yummy food well represented and staff is very friendly and co operative even yesterday it was fully booked but manager give us table some how. Highly recommend 👌

1st time coming here for a while but it was great. Staff were really attentive and the food was fabulous and delicious. I'll definitely not leave it so long to come back and would recommend this restaurant. Nice atmosphere and couldn't fault a thing.

I personally had the mixed grill for 2 & everything was sublime, everyone I was with said theirs was fantastic. Only thing I would say is draft lager is quite expensive, £6.30 a pint is very expensive, I know they’re premium lagers but another option would be good….also a mix grill for 1 on the menu, I’d have been disappointed if it was just me & the wife because she wouldn’t want the mix grill & I would. But would definitely recommend

Staff are nice and food is good and it's a nice restaurant but it's expensive on both food and drink for what it is and then stick a service charge on your bill.

Absolutely fantastic meal! Lovely place that's clean, warm and inviting, the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Food was delicious and came out quickly. We came with a 3 year old and the staff did everything they could to ensure we all but especially the 3 year old had the best time, including bringing out some dry ice to mystify my nephew who had the best time! We've had the best time!

One of the best food at area. Had a mix grill with my wife and kids we were happy service and meal. Thank u istanblue. Will comeback again

Chicken pieces which are pink in the middle always cause some anxiety. The other dish was pretty bland and didn’t deliver the big flavours we were expecting. Starters were ok and service was good. Would not go again.

Fantastic food and brilliant service

This restaurant is excellent. Great food selection, we were in a group of four... all of us were happy with what was served to us. Not being very adventurous with food, I went for sirloin steak and chips... superb! It came with peppercorn sauce, which was equally as good. Lovelly decor and very clean. Very attentive staff and not long to wait for drinks and food. All were competitively priced. Equally suited to singles, couples and groups... even quite large ones. Ample parking at the rear, bus stops for Ashton and Rochdale outside the door and taxis available from nearby. All in all, highly recommended!

Great food and service, location also great, plenty of food to choose from. Cost of the food was a little expensive, but worth it. I would like some Turkish music playing, possibly even live music. The man from the restaurant took us round to the cocktail had next door , gave us a free drink. That was a nice touch. Over all a great night.

Been a few times always enjoyed it. Food very good, staff excellent and good atmosphere. 4/10/2024. Restaurant has been closed for a refurbishment and reopened today, we we're invited by a friend who work's at the restaurant to go and see the new layout and try the new menu. The new layout makes the restaurant brighter with new tables and chairs. The food and service was excellent, another 5 🌟 stars. Went on Boxing day afternoon with grandchildren and again another enjoyable meal, restaurant nicely decorated for Xmas and once again the food and service was excellent another 5 ✨️ stars.

We had a lovely Christmas Eve meal in the newly refurbished restaurant. The staff were really lovely and looked happy to be there. The food was amazing and the service was spot on.

As always, the food was delicious and the restaurant vibe was amazing. However, over the years we have been visiting, the prices, particularly of alcohol have gone through the roof making it practically unaffordable.

Always enjoy eating here. Great food, excellent service. The refurb has freshened it up well. One slight issue is however was that for two members of the party with back problems, whilst the new chairs look great, they were exceptionally uncomfortable. Looking forward to checking out a breakfast some time though and will ask for a more comfortable chair!

We had a mid-week lunch here. We ordered the VIP platter for two and it was simply scrumptious. Great portion, we couldn't finish it, despite a great effort! Customer service was spot on too.

Just visited this restaurant for the first time since the refurb. Amazing what they’ve done inside. The ambience is lovely, real Mediterranean vibes. I had the Dakos cold starter which was simply stunning and potentially one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten. For main, we shared the VIP Mixed Grill. Amazing value for money. Such a wide variety of meat and all cooked exceptionally well. The staff are lovely and very accommodating, they can’t do enough for you. Will definitely be back. Well done to the Istanblue team!

I’ll be honest, i have come all the way from London for some work in manchester, and this spot was below par to say at the least. Excellent venue and service, however the food wasn’t seasoned like turkish food at all. Way too much Cumin and herbs in the seasonings and No Salcha in the seasoning at all, this spot is definitely imitating a turkish restaurant and not actually run by turkish people. Baklava was 10/10 Rice was the only positive thing about the mixed grill.

Lovely environment.Food was delicious. Staff friendly but alcohol was very expensive and the service charge that is plonked on the bill is an issue that most won't challenge. Unsure if we'll go again because of these costs.

What a great meal. We were treated like first class costumers with personal attention and great advice on dishes to choose from. The birthday treat with everyone singing was amazing .. Great food very taste and spectacular service You need to go there Highly recommended

Apparently, the meal deal is only for 6 maximum, and the price just kept going up & up service charges, etc, i can't believe how pushy they were coming for plates before people had even finished so I don't believe anyone I know will ever go here again

We love eating at Istanblue. Although It’s not the cheapest restaurant to eat out at, it’s consistently great food, service and atmosphere, so worth paying a little more for. 100% recommend the steak doner!

Received a call requesting change of booking from 6 pm to 4:30 pm as we needed to be out of restaurant by 6 pm. Agreed to change however several groups of people came into the restaurant for 6 pm bookings. The food was good but not happy about the reason given for the change. There was no need for our booking to be change, it was like we were an inconvenience!

atmosphere was amazing but the tall blonde waitress i believe her name was ashleigh upstairs in momos cocktail bar was so nice and very respectful always making sure we are looked after

This was my second visit since the refurbishment. Both times I have been absolutely amazed at the food and the service. I will definitely be returning and telling as many of my friends about Istanblue. The food was fabulous and the service second to none!

We had an amazing time at istanblue last weekend, the food never fails to amaze me and the service was absolutely on point. The staff are so enthusiastic not only at the restaurant but in bono Istanblue’s new bar. Truly the best businesses in Royton!!

An amazing restaurant with a very welcoming atmosphere and ambience. Food was incredible and the service was just as good. Naomi served our table and was amazing the other staff were all so smiley and inviting. Definitely recommend.

The atmosphere and surroundings are great and the food is delicious. The service was very good but its a shame that the service charge is added onto the bill. I think you should be able to decide yourself how much you would like to tip. The drinks are well over priced, lemonade £4.25! Saying that we had a lovely evening.

Lovely meal out with the wife. King prawn starter was very tasty. Delicious lamb main. My wife had hummus & then chicken, which she really enjoyed. The 2 different Turkish red wines we tried were really good and the baklava was lovely. Great staff & convenient free parking right behind.

After being on a walk in the local area we called into the restaurant as we needed something to eat. Wow, what a lovely meal we had. It was a Sunday afternoon and we all had the 3 course menu. Delicious. We will be back.

Cocktail bar was amazing some very polite young men Behide the bar and lovely women out front to help you order cocktails we’re 10/10 spot on and decor was very modern and very vibey.

This is a wonderful Restaurant in the heart of Royton. The food (Sunday Roast Dinner) was delicious, the service was attentive and high quality and the decor beautiful. We had a 3 course Sunday lunch, starter was mushroom with garlic cheese, roast beef with all the trimmings and a gorgeous warm chocolate cake with ice cream. I wish every restaurant was as great as this one!

Beautiful atmosphere and place. Service was 1st rate very attentive to your every need when you have picky eaters haha. Food was well presented and tasted amazing. Our table server was amazingly beautiful with a beautiful persona to go with it. Bill was abit of a shock for an Oldham restaurant but hey inflation is a b@£#h these days. Over all a wonderful experience

I came to the restaurant just after they reopened after refurbishing. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. Staff are very attentive and tend to your needs incredibly, we had Leah serving us for the night and she ensured we had everything we needed.

This reseraunt is amazing! I would highly recommend. The food was absolutely amazing, matched perfectly with the outstanding service we received from the wonderful service staff who were very attentive and accommodated all our needs.

My family and I have always loved istanblue, however after their refurb, we went to try the Sunday roast dinner today and couldn’t have been more pleased. First of all, the service is second to none (as always. ) Secondly, what they have done with the decor is truly beautiful, and OF COURSE! The food is always beautiful, hence why we always return, however I’m so excited they are going down the route of offering breakfast and Sunday roast- they truly didn’t disappoint! Also want to add the owner always goes out of his way to ensure everyone is happy and asks for feedback- I honestly think this is something that is overseen by many restaurants these days, and I just think that’s an extra special touch. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Credit to Royton.

Our wedding anniversary, decided to come back here,as our previous visit was a huge hit! We were not disappointed. The staff are so friendly, and although early on a Monday evening, the atmosphere was welcoming. We had the VIP sharing platter, it was absolutely delicious and far more than we could manage, but looking forward to left overs for lunch! Sadly no room for dessert, I had been looking so forward to baklava ( homemade served warm with a scoop of ice cream) SO the free portion was so very much appreciated! We will be hurrying back!

The food is delicious, staff very friendly, polite and attentive. Before 6pm it's £19.95 for 2 course. The portions are very generous . We had tzatziki and vine leaves with delicious warm bread. Then lamb and chicken kebabs served with lovely salad, rice, peppers and sauces. Irish coffee was served with lots of cream and fruit. We were also served with complimentary balaclava. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant for couples, families, and parties.

Food NEVER fails. Always fresh, delicious and great portions. The sea bass is always my go to and to finish it off with the poached pear is just marvellous. The staff is also lovely too, Mehmet is very kind and accommodating. I can confidently say this is one of best restaurants in Royton, you can tell there is thought behind the food and its preparation. Always a pleasure to dine when in Royton.

Our lovely friend and ( we joke,) our adopted daughter, treated my husband and I to a meal for Father's day. The atmosphere was lively as the restaurant was rather full, this did not at all deter from the prompt efficient service we received, the staff were super friendly and attentive and funny, and really interacted with us. The food was fresh and ample and totally TOTALLY delicious. A great hit and we are excited to return.

I was expecting it to be fantastic going of the other reviews but was left underwhelmed, the place is nice, clean and tidy, the staff are friendly however not brilliant at their job, the food was tasty and well presented but some was obviously bought from a wholesalers pre made (pizza/garlic bread base's for example)

Very enjoyable and a great evening. We visited daughter who lives in Royton so she booked for us all to go to The Istanbul. After a disastrous meal we had in Turkey years ago we had our doubts about this evening but were willing to give it a go on her recommendation. We started in the cocktail bar and enjoyed the cocktails. Then moved down to the restaurant. Husband and i went for the Bodrum and it was delicious. Service was spot on and the staff was very friendly. We would go again on a future visit to Royton.

Lovely authentic Turkish food. Staff friendly and helpful, particularly Gem (not sure about the spelling), he was really nice to deal with. Atmosphere and decor takes you back to Turkey.

There was 14 of us, and we all said the same thing about the meal it was amazing, the staff were friendly and very quick to serve our food.

Visited 1st time for a while, the food was lovely, bit of a mix up with order at first was sorted quickly with apologies and dessert and coffees on house ( TBH think the mix up was 50 percent my fault as well) will we visit again YES without a doubt,

Extremely overpriced. Food wasnt worth what you pay and it came out alarmingly quick which is never a good signb if you ask me. Napkins were not fully dried so don't know why they had been put out. Decor is lovely. First time trying and won't be going back.
