Issho in Leeds

Sad to see Issho has closed. This place was a gem in Leeds, blending modern with traditional Japanese cuisine. Each visit was a culinary adventure, from sushi to unique dishes. Although sometimes service could be hit or miss, the overall experience was memorable. It'll be missed for its innovation and atmosphere.

Great food and people, couldnt ask for me, serice was spot on and waiter was great and was knowledgeable about the food.

Server- Cheenee The service was unreal, the attentiveness from cheenee was 10/10 she was honestly the best would forever recommend anyone dining here to ask for her as a waiter! made sure we understood the menu, everything just flowed thankyou for making my night xx

The food was nice however, I had a terrible service experience. The initial food took 40 minutes to come and part of our order didn’t come- when we queried it the kitchen had missed the order and then closed. We had to agree to have it taken off the bill. So we finished up hungry. The bill didn’t come despite asking 3 times. Eventually the wrong bill came. In total we waiting 40 minutes for the correct bill to arrive. When I complained I was told I didn’t have a right to because they had been working for 12 hours. The manager Vincenzo was rude and condescending- my party and I couldn’t believe it. I think he realise this when he knocked some money off the bill. It wasn’t much but I accepted it so we could leave as it was so embarrassing. Very poor experience I will be feeding back to the Amex concierge that recommended it.

Always love coming here, the temaki rolls are huge and you can tell they are freshly made. Staff are so lovely too, Sofia was our server and she was 10/10 - very attentive and patient (we were taking ages to decide what to order). Definitely will be returning. I highly recommend the cocktails, especially the hugo spritz.

We came to issho for a family birthday one weekend lunch , we ordered a wide variety of dishes which the whole party enjoyed. The service was good in a nice atmosphere even though it was busy.

We came here for my husband's birthday. The ambience is nice and they've got quite an extensive cocktail menu. The dishes were all great, our server Helen was wonderful - very friendly and brought my husband a little cake with 'Happy Birthday ' written in chocolate sauce!

Fantastic food and ambience. The tempura and chicken karaage was particularly good. Service was great and the waitress Helen was very attentive.

We had arranged to have a special lunch here . When we arrived were seated we had the ‘pleasure’ of listening to 2 chefs argue because they had forgotten to cook the rice … in an open kitchen - not good . We ordered the salmon & tuna sashimi as 2of our dishes - @£15 for 3 pieces quite expensive . The tuna that arrrved was grey & smelt . I’ve seen fresher in Tesco’s . Lovely place. Great decor. Staff attentive and friendly. Not an expert on Japanese food , we had the samurai menu. Very nice. All in all great. Going back next week.

This spot is such a good place to be the sushi is in my opinion the best I’ve had yet our waiter sohz was so nice and polite she was truest a gem.

Food was lovely and server, nana, was amazing and thoughtful and caring. Highly recommend. Accommodated to my friend’s birthday too x
