International Chippy in Rochdale

They are very stingy about the sauce on chicken and chips and most of it is dry. The amount of chicken is very less compared to chips and they are not very welcoming to customers.

Clean, tidy, and freshly prepared food. It's a family run business. The only issue is that they don't have any eat-in facilities. If you aren't bothered to take away, then there is no comparison with any other local restaurants.

If you’re in Rochdale you have to try it at least once. these chicken and chips are just too good. 10/10

A good old fashioned chip shop off Drake Street in Rochdale in a residential area. The only snag is finding somewhere to park.

You can tell how good a foodie is when you go after 10 years and it's exactly as it tasted decade ago. The only change is the young boys behind the counter are big men. You have to try it.

Terrible place with overpriced food and underwhelming quality. Food is always finished half of the time, and the customer service is extremely poor. I was faced with ignorance and hostility when asking about an item on the food menu, which they had suddenly ‘ran out’ off, even though it was in front of my face behind the counter!!!

Sorry to say this I need to love international chippy, but recently in the past couple of years they have lost touch of quality I went there the other day got six lots chicken and chips And the food was out. We all got food poisoning seriously every time we go in The guy who’s making chicken and chips is sad and miserable there’s no atmosphere and I think they have lost touch. Went in there few days ago got some somosas and a bag of chips Got a tiny portion of chips , guy touching the somosas with his hands after touching hands everywhere , no hygiene what so ever had a liquid taste to it Food poisoned after a hour of having the food I will never go to that stinky place again

Visited International chippy yesterday travelled from Bolton as recommended by friend. We had the Chips special was a very nice and modest meal with authentic flavours. Good spot for anyone looking for a humble authentic chippy as same owners for over 30 years. Menu is limited but if it’s not broken why fix it mentality.

If I could rate it no stars I would I bought fish and chips from here the fish was absolutely smelly and overdated and smelt so bad and tasted awful didn’t even bother having any of it went back to the takeaway and I was treated like crap by a elderly man with a white beard and was told to take the food and have it still and I didn’t even get my refund please avoid this place as they have no respect for the customers at all I definitely wouldn’t go back here if u don’t wana be disrespected than avoid this place

I've known this place for a while even though not gone there too often in that time. Used to be reasonably good. But it's been on a slide for sometimes. Quality of food is poor and general hygiene standards leave much to be desired. A sense of bleakness confronts you as you enter the place, a feeling that those working there are kept in the place/behind the counter against their will! Atmosphere and customer service had always been their major liability, but it's now got to an entirely different level of poor standard. Not sure why you would pay to be a part of such a place. Whilst it's stood still to go backwards all these years, other places around it have moved forward with more innovative catering ideas. It's not a welcoming place that values the customer who may have travelled a long way to visit them. Anyone can make lots of money selling all sorts of stuff, but quality is hard to cultivate. Eveyone to their own, but I won't be going there again so not recommending it.

Disgusting place and staff especially the guy with glasses.! Places like these are cheap and nasty just like themselves, -rank amateurs.! I was in a rush to get just two samosas n he purposely doing other stuff to take the mick, eventually I walked out! Will not go there again.!

Travelled from Bradford and met my pal Sohrab from Todmorden here to get the famous chicken and chips. Just like last time the food was amazing, love the home made sauces and their pokoras were mega. This is a real old school chippy serving old school grub.

The chips, well worth the drive, proper chips, salted, vinegar, service with a smile, the sauce, one if them was not to taste, but the made things fresh, service with a smile, just the rude regulars spoilt it, but looking forward to dropping by again.

The manager is always moody, looks aggressive, and angry.

MUST TRY Their chicken and chips are out of this world. I always visit when up north and always take some for the family back in London. Highly recommended, very nice people as well

This was a 4 star but has gone down to 3.6 as of late. Good simple chippy. Service is OK. My go to are. Chicken and chips with chutney. (Imli) Donner kebab and chips or pitta. (May not ba available late afternoon) and samosas. Gone down due to price and sometimes chips are hard and service can be lacking Still one to visit.

Nice and tasty chips with miele chutney

Got the Chicken n chips was 8/10 the chicken was abit too thick for my liking but the sauces 10/10. The guy that was making the chips very friendly and the guy at the till that was putting the chicken and sauces on the food was not very friendly at all abit like a robot like he didn't want to be there! The shop itself needs updating and it does not have a card machine!!! Also no Seating area in the shop so it has to be takeout.

SAMOSA HARDLY HAVE ANY KEEMA ALL POTATO ALSO ON CHIPS NOT MUCH IMLI SAUCE. NOT THE SAME AS USED TO BE AND THE PRICE OF £4.20 IS A JOKE.

Been going here for chicken and chips for years...

I heard good things about the chicken and chips but never lived up to the hype! Could've been an off day but my honest opinion has to prevail here. The chips were hollow and crunchy and had a bad smell to them, the chicken was too hard and had no taste to it. The salad certainly didn't seem fresh and samosas were overloaded with potatoes and hardly any meat. We were offered some Donner meat which quite frankly made me feel sick. The uncle behind the counter didn't even acknowledge us for at least 5 minutes after which we shouted across our order politely of course. Disappointed to say the least and although I'll give em another try to see if it's any better I'm not gonna hold my breath!!

There is a reason why I don’t eat junk food and this is it: the food is soooooo goooooooood! I mean you can’t stop! This place is an actual Institution in Rochdale! Going for the first time: chicken and chips/ chips and chutney. Fancy changin things up go for the samosa and chips. Sometimes I go in just for Imilee chutney (tamarind) omg! I am not lying when I say this sauce makes everything -and I mean everything-, better. You could eat it on broccoli and it would taste amazing. Their samosas are ok too- I’ve recently seen a bit of a price hike! Not so cool but if you craving a fast food hit then this is it. The biggest downfall I would say is the wait time. You be in a line with 1 uncle infront of you and he is ordering for like 20 people. I do not lie! Or in the case of the evenings it gets super busy Ok one last thing- they need a card machine! It is not cool when you are scrabbling around in your car looking for change! I would go everyday if they took card payments

The chicken chips chutney n salad mix is definitely something you should try out if you going to this chippy! Clean inside and wait time not usually too long once ordered you they get on with the order!

First and last. Heard its good… Ordered chips gravy with cheese pie and this is what I got. Literally 7pieces of chips.

I used to be regular here in the 1990s, but since moving to Norwich i haven't been able to visit, i still crave the samosas, packed with lamb, potato and peas, absolutely brilliant, in 23 years I've never found a samosa or donna kebab to match the superb taste and quality that this place serves. To the owner, Please tell me if the Samosas are made with same recipe, i will be visiting Manchester at the end of February and would love to come to your shop and enjoy those excellent samosas again.

I'm basing this review off my frequent visits here back in the 90's, affectionately known as Harveys. Chip muffin for 50p, an extra 5p if you wanted it to be 'special.' Chips & chutney was the star of the show at 90p. It was a staple in your diet if you were Asian and from Rochdale. I've long moved away from the area but one day I'll be back for a taste of my misspent youth :)

Not even worth a star. I went for fresh fish and chips and got stale fish (at least a day old) rock hard with the greasiest of batter. Not the first time either that I've given them a chance to redeem themselves. Never again !!!

Good place, family has been going since it opened, but pricing and quality is poor.
