We were staying nearby and called in for dinner. They don't have an alcohol licence so you're encouraged to bring your own. There's a shop directly opposite so not an issue at all. The food was beautiful and all of the meat was high quality. We found the prices to be very reasonable and we plan on heading back very soon.

Really confused about the hit and miss reviews for this place? Waiter & gent on the desk were both very professional, friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious! Good ingredients and fresh. No complaints what so ever. Very generous portions, so much so we ended up taking about half back to our hotel with us. Great prices, spend £20/£30+ more for the same dishes down south. The whole establishment was absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated, pleasant Indian music playing in the background. We were the only customers dining in however the takeaway was booming. The fact they don't serve alcohol wasn't an issue at all, honestly who needs alcohol to appreciate good food?

Lovely food, enjoyed it, the nann bread was delicious! Service was good by the two gents but the 2 girls could do with being a bit more friendly! They seemed like they didn’t want to be there, I offered a tip and got the reply ‘if you want to’. It felt a bit awkward to be honest. That being said the food was super tasty, the chicken tikka for my daughter was amazing! Fresh! Atmosphere was none existent, we were the only people in there (6:30pm Saturday night) and one of the girls awkwardly hovering around and seemed to choose a hiding place behind a pillar, weird…

Great meal at Indivala. All the meat was very well cooked and tender. The curry was spicy and flavoursome. Large portions and reasonable price.

I’m surprised at the great reviews that this restaurant gets after my own experience of a takeaway from this place. The lamb was dry and chewy, the rice was the same as the one used for the mushroom rice which had no taste whatsoever, the aloo and bindi came with the exact same tasteless baby food sauce which is not the normal accompaniment. The poppodoms didn’t even arrive with the usual accompaniments, but the naan was alright. Tasteless, not one fresh spice nor rich delicious aroma when it was delivered! What more can I say? I had been warned against patronising this restaurant and I just wish I’d listened. For me, it ended up being a total waste of money; I threw 90% of it away the next day after double checking that I’d not been too hasty! Such a wasted opportunity for this lovely village!

Booked in here for 9pm. Sat down and the waiter had already said you can bring your own beer. So we went over the road, came back and the waiter said you cant drink that in here its Ramadan!!! Unbelievable. Why does Ramadan affect customers who aren't observing Ramadan. If you come here make sure you get all the bloody rules before you sit down. Walked out in disgust and they've missed out on £250 worth of business.

Lovely cosy place great food lots of it great prices

We ordered a takeaway on Friday evening, it was ready on time and was absolutely delicious. We both ordered lamb samba and pillau rice with a chilli naan. The meal was very tasty and beautifully cooked. We will definitely be returning.

Ordered two take out’s ready really quickly. Chicken Korma was more like a soup as sauce far too thin. Same for chicken tikka. Onion Bhaji was nice but a very disappointing £30 takeaway. Happened twice now but gave the first experience the benefit of the doubt.

We really like Indivala and have had several take aways. Always thoroughly enjoyed the food but this evening, part of the order was missing. My wife is vegetarian and it was her selection that was missing so she's had to do without. Shame be ause you're better than that.

Great food and service (5*), but no alcohol.

Maybe the chef was off the night we went but it was awful. The worst take away I have ever had of any type. Hardly any meat in the dishes, bland, clearly reheated out of the microwave. Less tasty than 1970’s school dinners. Only good thing was it was completely empty 7pm on a Friday night so it can’t survive for too long.

Disappointing; the food was just poor. On the up side, the portions were huge, so you can eat very cheaply here. The service was very attentive - actually too attentive and eventually scared us off as we just didn't want the waiter standing over us. The food here is a real mish-mash of cuisines. It's form all over Asia without a hint of focus. As someone who has worked in India, this wouldn't be acceptable there. It's a bit like going back to the '80s when we didn't travel as much and curry houses had the UK version of the real curries. The spices are all dried with the heat coming from the harsh hit of curry powder. The two dishes we had were almost identical with one having a hint more tomato puree than the other despite being described as totally different. OK - let's get into the details. Papadums were fine, but who doesn't put lime pickle on the chutney tray? That was extra... One of the chutneys had seen better days but all tasted fine. Good start. We were slightly surprised that paneer tikka was on the meat starters and not the vegetarian ones, but were assured that this was correct but no answer to why.... odd (paneer seems to be conspicuous by its absence in the menu as a whole) We went with onion bhajis; they were ok, but very greasy. However, FOUR per portion means this must be one of the best value dishes in Cheshire. The mains were the main disappointment. We'd ordered two completely different curries but they were almost identical. Quite lacking in taste and the heat came in the harsh bitter form that you get from dried curry powder as opposed to the slowly cooked fresh spices that you'd get from modern curry houses such as K2H in Northwich. The paratha was the size of a pizza but instead of crumbling apart like it should had a consistency closer to a pizza stone. Portion size was, again, large. We left the majority of our mains - we could have taken them with us, but I really didn't want to face it again. Once was enough.

Lovely service and fabulous food. We didn't book but just called in. Toilets spotless but broken latch on cubicle door. Would definitely go back.

As visitors to the area we have just had our second takeaway from Indivala, and can honestly say that the food is both excellent and consistant, with above average portion size. Superb quality and extremely tasty! Highly recommended.

Best Indian around always great portions and quality

Well we have been here lots of times and food has always been first class, however tonight no no no. We asked for a tikka chicken makhani but a bit spicy. The guys told us it’s a mild dish which we know however we always ask for this meal and they always make it spicy at our request and the staff said it would be spicy. We got the meal home and the starters were lovely however when saw the makhani tray it had written on the lid chicken makhani mild !!! We never asked for it mild and never would. We specifically asked for it spicy. The sauce was very sweet with no taste whatsoever. I contacted the shop and they were sorry and said next time they’ll get it right. Not the point. We paid for what we were expecting. My hubby took the meal back to the shop and the staff said it’s meant to be like that. Yes we know that but we asked for it to be a bit spicy and you said it would be. Begrudgingly you offered our money back. We didn’t want our money back and just wanted what we asked for. Anyway thankyou for refunding our meal. We didn’t want you to do that but you honoured it. My hubby told you because of your attitude and the way you dealt with us, despite supporting you through lockdown that we wouldn’t return and would go elsewhere. You said do whatever you want that’s fine. In the last 14 days we spent £72 with you.times that by twelve and that’s what you have lost over the next 12mths from us and I imagine quite a few of our friends. Please don’t forget Tarporley is a very small village and the people who live here are your bread and butter customers. We’ll be going to the Rasoi from now on never to return sorry !!!
