Never again. Have been eating there many times over 15 years before 2020. Food and price were always ok. When I was in the area on Saturday I visited again after a long time. It was awful! Food was lukewarm, Poori bread and other things stale. They now charge 15 Pound for substandard food! I ended up with severe diarrhoea!!! It looks like I am not the only one. I regret haven’t read the Google reviews before my visit and haven’t checked UK Governments Food Standards Agency website where “Indian Veg” Food Hygiene is rated only 3!!! Says it all. If you care about your health AVOID!!!

Atrocious. Do yourself a favour and avoid. Been their earlier this evening and I already have stomach cramps. To be clear: i have been coming to this place whenever i was in London since the early 2000's when the "all you can eat" buffet was £4.95. Over the years, the food has always been good, and certainly good value for money. It now is £14.95 and the food is terrible. The food was luke warm, the poori cold. Which could be forgiven. But it gives you food poisoning. Not just myself. My partner too. Never mind their vegetarian credentials and long standing commitment. This place had it. We won't go again. Not paying £15 to poison myself.

I'm told this place is seen as a pillar of the local community, and rightly so. Fantastic food, served simply and directly in a characterful environment. Nothing pretentious or artificial here, a truly authentic dining experience. For a cheap price too. Strong reccomend for both locals and tourists.

We used to come here occasionally for years but it has now become overpriced and disappointing. The price has shot up hugely and what is actually put out on the buffet has reduced. We can go to a Sunday buffet in Kent cheaper and receive hot food, proper service and a wider variety of dishes including meat options. So you are paying a lot more for less now. The food is cold and hygiene could be better. It’s lost its charm! Sadly, I will no longer be coming back it isn’t what it used to be both in terms of price and options!

When I entered Indian veg I had begun to feel poorly. Once I had left, I felt the best I had ever felt in twenty years. I felt my youthful spirit take over my digestion which had previously been deteriorating with age. I had energy levels that I previously felt were reserved only for my teenage years. Indian veg was not only fantastic food, Indian Veg changed my life.

I used to go here back in the 80’s when I lived nearby in Hackney. Happy to see it’s still thriving. Met the owner and reunited myself with the joy of all you can eat and eternal curry . The writing is on the wall , we are all steeped in existential pakora .

FALSE ADVERTISING. Their website says the price is £7.95 not £13.95. The food wasn’t hot and was barely warm. This isn’t really good value unless you’re a big person with a huge appetite. Very disappointing. I was surprised that it was so quiet on a Saturday evening but I expect other people feel the same way.

This place is fantastic! Cheap buffet consisting of very decent quality produce and you can bring your own drinks at no extra cost. Lots of medical information on the walls but it’s mainly pretty harmless. Friendly staff and they occasionally give food to the homeless so it’s an already ethical place. I visited this Indian buffet eatery during the lunch hour with high expectations but unfortunately that’s all that it was. This is likely the best Indian food I have had in a restaurant, or that wasn't catered or home cooked. Everything tastes wonderful! The briyani is great, the vegetable curry is delicious, the fried options are crunchy even in the trays, and the mint infused items are vibrant. I'd happily return for their buffet, especially for the price. The only gripes I have are that the fried options are fairly oily. They taste great, but you can feel the oil taste inside them. The restaurant is also absolutely covered in wall paper listing all the benefits of vegetables and a vegetarian diet. Not a bad thing, probably not even wrong, but it felt like I was eating surrounded by diatery propaganda. Still, as I said before, the buffet was fantastic and I'd happily return. Can't beat it for the price!

Although the general taste of the food is good and the vegetarian propaganda posters add charm… my food was Luke warm there was flooding coming from the ceiling - the food was repeating on me right after eating and felt sick not sure because of temperature and it was left out too long or the cooking oils used? But would have appreciated a discount as 15 per head very steep as it’s quite carb heavy most wouldn’t eat more than plateful anyway I think if you halved the price or at least reduced to 10£ would be more reasonable

The cost of living in Angel and London has drastically increased over the years. Despite my frequent visits since 2000, the current prices are unaffordable for me. It seems like Yuppieville has taken over, leaving locals to resort to eating meals at home. This reality is unfortunate, as even affordable options such as Bhelpuri no longer cater to low-income individuals. It's quite apparent that the buffet prices are exorbitant, and it's not because of the cost-of-living crisis. The restaurant is charging a lot on Just Eat, which is why they have no intention of reducing their prices on buffets. It's regrettable.

Cafe style Buffet restaurant offering a straightforward dining option at a very reasonable price. £15 a head currently and looks like this has only gone up recently which makes sense given COVID and current inflation situation. Food is all vegetarian which is great, overall I'd describe the food as basic, hearty and delicious. Basic isn't a bad thing when everything is done well. Good selection of salads, bhaji, curries and rice. Both the gentlemen working there were friendly and welcoming. Great option for a quick lunch or dinner. Love the support for those in need being able to get food for free. Also if you don't want to eat in, there's an option to grab a tin and help yourself to a takeaway. When I worked at First Sport many many years ago me and a friend used to come here for lunch. We are meat eaters but the food tasted so good that we could go without and enjoy the spices with the veg. So on returning to the area with mum I thought I'd see if she would fancy eating there as she's a west indian mum, she is fussy about where she eats and the food. We chose our seats as it wasnt busy, got two all you can eat plates and had a little of everything on out plates. The food was still just as good if not better than all those years ago. Mum only managed one plate but I tasted the dhal and that was it! I had two more plates full mainly of dhal and rice tasted just the way Indian West Indians make it those from Trinidad and Guyana. We also sampled a dink from their vast selection I had never seen before, Extra Malty Supermalt! Mum enjoyed it so much she took two bottles home. The restaurant/cafe is pleasant, clean and simple, it's self-serve (hence the service rating) but the cashier is accommodating and helpful. The toilets are very clean, it's easy to imagine a market eatery to be run down and dirty inside but this place is a pleasant surprise, if there is a mess anywhere its customer created (like mum dropping her fork) rather than sloppy staff and lack of cleanliness. I highly highly recommend a visit and sure you will be hooked, healthy, spicy, tasty food at a low cost you simply cannot go wrong.
