Great food and friendly staff!!

The food is amazing and the price is really good compared to others in the area. Had a takeaway which is even cheaper then the restaurant but tastes just a good.

We had a meal tonight and one of our party found a hair in their curry - the reaction of the staff was terrible. They tried to blame the party members and never once offered an apology. It was a Saturday night and we were the only people in - now we know why! The hair was obviously not from our party because of the hair colouring. It put us off our meals and we left hungry! We asked for a discount on the bill and they initially gave us a £4 discount. We got a £10 discount and when we said that wasn't good enough, the waiter became very defensive and rude. I live in the village and he wasn't bothered that I was going to share this with the wider community and put a negative review on Trip Advisor. The waiter said, 'Just do it!". It was the poor attitude of the staff that has upset our party - an obvious lack of hygiene which meant the whole meal was a right off. Avoid this restaurant at all costs!!

Use a lot and back them a lot but on NYE they got it badly wrong. Take away telephone order with a 80 minute wait became double that. Sadly it was via several "10 more minutes" communications. We get that it was crazy busy but at some point they should have refused orders (including ours) if they couldn't cope. Small discount due to the delays. Food was good!!

A takeaway used a few times and, especially tonight, a meal way better than historical ranking. Excellent meal consisting of a spicy chicken tikka and chickpea based curry and a chicken tikka massala. Served with lovely veg pilau and a garlic naan that travelled well. Starters chicken chat and a butterfly prawn. Really good value as discounted take away prices. Great meal.

This place is a nice little Indian tucked out of the way. Clean and presented well for a small busy place. Reasonably priced and staff are lovely. Very clean and staff don't houd you like other places. This restaurant doesn't sell alcahol (most likely no licence) but has no problem with you taking it yourself. The reason I gave 4 star was because I had not checked the other areas such as bathroom facilities. Great experience in all BRAVO

My pal, Pauline is moving away in a fortnight so we had a farewell meal here. Typical of say the curry mile in Rusholme, it's unlicensed but helpfully Sainsbury's is next door and there's no corkage. I greedily had a starter of Shami kebabs whilst P lingered over her poppadums. My main was Lamb Tikka Balti, pilau rice and 2 chapattis. Pauline had chicken biryani and one chapatti. Her meal came with an omelette on top which I took as a sign of a good Indian, but she mistook for her chapatti. She found the meal temperature slightly cool but enjoyed it. Temperature of mine lasted fine despite our long chats. Sadly the place only had 3 other couples in. We were dining at 7-9 pm so were a little early. I hoped it picked up later in the evening and that it is not too affected by Covid-19. Early days for 'normalacy'. Our waiter was very helpful and pleasant, food bill £33 which we both thought god value.

Was a bit wary when we went in, It’s not 5 star. But it had some good reviews and a couple of bad ones.I can say our food was spot on,Infact I would say it’s one of the best I’ve had and I’ve had a lot. It was quiet because it was a Tuesday night.As far as I could say I would definitely go again.One thing they don’t serve alcohol drinks.Wasn’t a problem for us.

Certainly gone down hill over the recent months. Food is ok generally but with the competition around it has some improvements to make. Service isn't half what it used to be even for the take away. This used to be my regular but I found a new one.

Horrendous customer service. I ordered a take away from here of which they did not put some of the food I had paid for in. When I rang up I was called a liar and shouted at down the phone, when I went in to collect a refund for the food missing they threw the money. No apology given, no efforts to fix the error and repeatedly given verbal abuse by staff. AVOID

After going to this restaurant over the last 3 years and always been excellent, tonight we visited after a few months since our last time I can honestly say it was awful! Has it changed ownership? My prawns were dry and over cooked, my bright red curry was indescribable. My husbands curry was cold and tasteless! To be honest I never bother doing reviews but I was so disgusted with our food and the staffs response when we complained I felt compelled to advise of our experience and waste of money!!!

Lovely food as always, bring your own drinks in, slightly disappointed by the service, as it was slower than usual, but, it is one of the best Indians in Culcheth to visit, at the heart of the village.

Whilst we could not fault the food the service was very poor. The restaurant was not full they put six of us on a table for four. We moved the table next to us for extra room and the waiter said they might need it. What the place was empty! They got one of our meals wrong which we had to tell them twice. Instead of putting the hot plates down in front of you they asked us to pass them along the same thing happened when they were taking them away even though they could have reached them. Service with a smile I don’t think so, very miserable. Think it will be a while before we go back.

We came as a family with grandparents and they could not be more “bothered” by the fact we’ve arrived. We had plates and dishes plonked Down. It was boiling with a 4&6yr old. We were not allowed to move seats in the EMPTY restaurant to be closer to the door. do not go if you want a relaxing meal. Food was fine for a take away

Service was slow despite is being quiet (although they did seem busy with takeaways) so had o ask for glasess, get someomes attention when we wanted to order and had long wait between courses. Food was ok but bhaji starter was greasy and soft and the mains all seemed to have the same brown sauce apart from butter chicken which was vivid red. Bill was lower because its BYOB but on the food alone I wouldn't hurry back.

Just manages an OK. The place is tired, loose wallpaper scratched walls and a WC asking not to lock thee door as it won't reopen. Slow service and staff that look fed up. Bad starter, lamb chops were tough. Mains generally good, shame because it used to be good especially as it's unlicensed so you can keep the costs down with your own booze.

We have not ordered for a while after the last takeaway was very average, so decided to give it another go. Ordered over the phone for my husband to collect. One set meal for one with extra popadoms and a Chicken Rogan Josh & a Bombay potato. Firstly mine, the chicken was well over cooked and the tiniest bits of chicken small off cuts with just loads of sauce and far too much coconut for a butter chicken, the mushroom rice was over cooked & the Nan bread was very doughy and very very under cooked went in the bin. My husbands meal the Chicken Rogan Josh was very below the normal we have previously ordered, the chicken very over cooked, the potatoes in the Bombay was like mash. On a Plus point. The onion bhagi was fab and the popadoms, well how can you go wrong really. We have been having takeaways from here for many years and considering we travel from Lowton, I AM NOT SURE WE WILL AGAIN. The owners need to review as although they are very busy at present if they keep on serving this standard they wont be for long. Very disappointing!

We had a takeaway from here last night.. the amount of ghee used is beyond belief.. the bag was swimming in oil all over everything in the bag, just very messy.. and again once plated up was swimming in the stuff .. surely you don’t need to use this much ? Put me off eating it.

Booked table for 7.30 last night (Saturday). On arrival told no table available, but immediately offered one in their other restaurant half a mile away. Obviously not the first time they have done this. Will not return. Excellent meal later in The Raj 100 yards away. Go There !

I was in the same large group mentioned earlier and totally agree, the service was awful. The restaurant couldn’t cope with a group our size. They should have asked to pre-order or told us there were too many of us. I would have walked out if not with friends. It really annoyed me that they seemed to give priority to take out orders. We finally ate at 8.50pm having arrived at 7pm. The food was good but not worth the wait.

We had booked a large party into this restaurant. They rang in the afternoon to check on numbers and the meal was booked for 7.00 pm. On arrival there were not enough places set for the group. It took 40 minutes for them to take our order. It took over an hour and several requests to receive our popadoms. Eventually two hours after the booking time our main meals arrived. Meanwhile other people in our party were at completely different stages of their meal. Some were still waiting for starters, some on the coffee stage. Having said all this the food was delicious but it really was not worth the wait and anguish. All the while we were watching takeaway meals coming out of the kitchen. We will not be back.

Our food was absolutely gorgeous - prawns were massive and juicy! Service throughout the night was great - granted we came early on a Saturday so there was only 1 other person in the restaurant, but the staff were very attentive.

Had a party of 12 tonight go to the Tiffin tonight celebrating my daughters graduation.. very attentive from the minute we walked in to when we left.,definitely recommend this restaurant .

Reservamos una mesa para 2 última noche de sábado. Llegamos y abrimos la lista de vinos sólo me dijeron que no tenían una licencia. Me podrian haber dicho esto cuando llamé para reservar la mesa. Tuvimos que caminar hasta la tienda más cercana para conseguir una botella de vino. El restaurante era sucio, restos de comida y migas en la alfombra, comida en varios lugares en una costra el mantel. Parecía que había un aire de indiferencia entre el personal. Entrantes estaban bien, por decir algo, pero el plato principal no era bueno. Tuve el pollo a la mantequilla, que se halla en el menú bajo "especialidades del Chef"? ? ! Parecía y parecía una pechuga de pollo con crema de sopa de tomate heinz derramó sobre él. . Que no me impresionó. No podía esperar a salir.

A este restaurante ha y fuimos el primer cliente. El servicio era bueno y pedimos poppadums Balti con gambas y pollo tikka Balti especial. Yo lo llamaría el estofado de las comidas porque ellos no nos comidas indias. El chef necesita un curso en picante cocina. Nada de sabor, no de las especias. . . A dos años se podía comer. El contenido de carne estaba bien, el arroz estaba muy bien, no podía entender cómo podría ser presentado cualquier comida sin sabor alguno. He leído otras críticas y me pregunto qué es lo que están hablando. Probablemente la peor comida india que he soportado! Muy barato, pero ahora sé por qué.

Grupo de 10 de nosotros, fuimos temprano (6:30) y estaba bastante tranquilo. El servicio era bueno y la relación calidad-precio. Entrante, Poppadum mezclados, cualquier principal, cualquier arroz y pan naan por 15 libras y tome su propia bebida. Bien merece una visita si en el pueblo.

Our friends are fans of the Tiffin and persuaded us to join them in a visit. We were made very welcome, unsurprisingly, as we were the only customers. The food was very good and naturally the service was exemplary but unfortunately the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. One small party eating in an otherwise empty restaurant doesn't create a good night. The Tiffin needs to attract more clients if it is to compete with other excellent Indian restaurants in the district.

Just eaten a Murgh Manchuri takeaway. Only ordered one meal but was pleasantly surprised to find 2 poppadoms and 4 different pickles. The quality and authenticity were fantastic, also the pleasant service. Not previously my first choice of venue, but it will be now.

I have just returned from picking a takeaway up. I ordered the food at 7 o'clock. Have just received it now at 8.35. The most annoying part was my 13 year old son went in to pick it up and just kept getting annoyed. I hadn't been well so was in my pyjamas and had no phone on me so was unable to come in and complain. All I can say is if can't full fill takeaway orders you should not take them in the first place. Won't be using this takeaway again worst service ever. Not apologetic either. No customer service at all.

I love Indian food, the textures, spices, slow cooked lamb, subtle flavours.Ate at the Tiffin again for another disappointing meal. It seems people judge a meal based on the final bill. Poorly prepared food with no flavour, meat that was obviously cooked long before, it was actually like jerky on the outside. The manager held his hands up and told me they were trying to do better.I ate little of my meal, the bill came in full and I paid.I leave this message as a paying customer who believes there is no room for such poor quality, the number of customers dining proves there is actually room for anything, obviously at a price. 2 poppadoms, two mains, one rice, a water and soft drink at 28 quid would be ok but not in this case

We order takeaways from the Tiffin regularly, and are never disappointed. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and plus you get 30% off the takeaway menu! Food is very tasty and always piping hot.I have had a couple of sit down meals in the restaurant, and the service was slow, even though the tables were not full, this is probably why we just order takeaway now.

Went on a cold Tuesday evening. Was quickly seated in a lovely clean and warm restaurant. You can take your own drink in, but can buy soft drinks. We had poppudums and mains only. The food was excellent as was the service. We were the last in the restaurant but didn't feel rushed in any way. An excellent choice of restaurant and will certainly be going back

A superb little gem in Culcheth, super value for money and especially with being able to bring your own beer and wine free of charge, our bill was a lovely surprise when it arrived! It's a nice little intimate setting and a buzzing atmospehere. The food was really tasty and the staff were very warm and welcoming- a great value night out, ticks all the boxes!

I've always left good reviews in the past based on the fact that the food is absolutely spot on. However, despite the food still being great, the service is really letting them down. If it was a one off I would let it slide but the last 4 or 5 times I've been the service has been ridiculously slow. I went on Friday as part of a works do. Our table was booked for 7.30, it was 7.45 by the time we were seated and about 8.45 by the time we got poppadoms!! As I say, the food is really nice and the staff are friendly but something needs to be done about how slow they are unfortunately.

Because Trip Adviser reviews were so good, I booked for a mid week girlie curry and chat. The restaurant is very convenient for parking. The restaurant is small but stylish. Although only 4 tables were taken over the evening, the ambiance was very pleasant. However, the food didn't live up to either the surroundings or the reviews. It was served promptly, but all dishes were only luke warm and rather bland. After the plates were cleared, we waited for the waiter to return for further service but none came and in the end we had to ask. Surprisingly, there is no pudding menu and no decaffinated coffee available. So overall, we weren't too happy and I'm wondering where all these good reviews came from. Talking about my experience to friends in the village it was confirmed that this was typical rather than a single poor night and they recommended that in future I should go to one of the other Indian restaurants in Culcheth.

Great little Indian restaurant also does takeout if you cant get a table. I like the fact you can take your drink so you don't have to pay restaurant prices. Staff are friendly and happy to assist in choice from the menu.

Culcheth is not short of outlets serving Indian Food ,with two large up market restaurants & two takeaways , BUT the Tiffin has its own charm & followers . From our five visits its best described as a Takeaway with 30 covers , always seems busy would suggust around 75% of trade is takeaway - owned by the nearby owner of the Spice Lounge - its main U S P is prices - quality - portions - friendly service - large free car park adjacent - allow £ 12 - £ 15 per head . Very helpful with your own Alcoholic drink - glasses - ice - opening of the wine etc All tips distribute amongest the staff , this is not the most exciting Indian you will ever visit , BUT fully recommended , what ever you chose

Not too busy, service always with a smile. Great for take away but I have also eaten there - no alcohol licence but you can bring your own and the staff keep my beer cold for me! Try it out!

Bad smell inside restaurant, when i asked the waiter what it was, as i was assuming it could be from outside, he just told me don't worry it's from the loo it'll be ok in an hour. So we got up and left for the Raj restaurant down from there. Thank God i did.....

This place is a short walk from our house so it would be ideal for us if it were good. In fact, it's a below par and unexciting village curry house. On the plus side you can bring your own alcohol which helps with the bill. On the minus side the food is weak and the service slow and disorganised. The kids quite like it but don't exactly pester to go back!

We came a few weeks ago, we had booked a table for 4 people at 7.30. Safe to say we had to wait a while for our food order to be taken and a further 45 minutes for starters to even arrive. Then a further 30 minutes once they were cleared for our mains. Wasn't that busy in the place but we will go back again to try again.

Had been to Indian Tiffin a number of years ago and received poor service but decided to 'give it another go'. Can't fault the food but the management of the restaurant was very very poor. Asked for coffee at the end of our meal and were informed that they had 'run out of coffee'! Asked for a jug of hot (boiled) water to have with our brandy and whilst we were waiting we were approached by a man who informed us that 'his party were waiting for our table and asked how long we would be????? The management had clearly told him that we were the cause if their delay in being seated!! It was very clear at that point that that had been the reason for the management making the excuse that they had 'run out of coffee' in order for us to leave for table. But worse was to follow - the bill was £35.40 and we left £40 (would have left more had the service been better) - we were then followed out of the restaurant and told that the bill was £55 and we had only paid £40 - went back into the restaurant where they quickly discovered they were wrong but no apology! Don't know who owns this restaurant but they need to get a grip on the 'shower'who work there - absolutely disgraceful - needless to say we won't be visiting this particular establishment again and won't be recommending it to anyone we know!

A little gem of an Indian restaurant. Located in Culcheth, Warrington. We have been here many times and the attraction for us is the great food but also you can take your own drinks. This means your end up having a great meal for a a very good price. Typically we have poppadoms, chutneys, starters, main courses with rice and naan bread and the bill usually come to less than £30 for two people. Great value.The only downside is the restaurant is very small inside and can get a bit cramped especially as people are also coming in to pick up takeaways.
