Lovely food, good atmosphere for fine dine. Great service loved it 🥰

Went to the Melton Road one. People cooking with their hair uncovered. The person that served us was dismissive and rude. Different staff members kept telling us different things about the sitting arrangement. Wait time was so long that we ended up leaving without taking our food. Truly disappointing.

i ordered online through their website. the order came over an hour later. i can understand this as they use the uber delivery drivers. the order came and they didnt include the three naans which i had paid for. i rang as soon as i got the order and the person told me that they dont do refunds and i should check my receipt. there is no contact email to sort out the issue. the only resolution offered was that i would get money back on my next order. if you have made an error on this order, why would i come back and order from you again. i have now paid for three naans i did not recieve and am not able to get a refund. not good service

Indian Rooster in Leicester is a popular spot known for its Indian street food and grilled specialties. I visited the one on Queens Road in Clarendon Park. The Queens Road branch offers a diverse menu featuring items like BBQ skewers, full chicken, burgers, naan rolls, curries, and Indo-Chinese dishes. Food is good - tried a mixed platter of chicken Kababs with a rice pulao, some lettuce salad and a raita. The chicken would have tasted better if it was a little more tender . The seekh kababs were really nice and flavoursome . The restaurant is pretty casual but loved the Hindi Bollywood music been played - it completed the vibe of an Indian Restaurant .

We used to be regulars at the indian rooster melton road before. We have since been ordering from Indian rooster queens road and it has been awful. The prices are crazy for what you get. Today we ordered 2 lamb biriyanis and 1 paneer tikka meal (in the meal you get chips and a drink). My husband called and ordered and confirmed the paneer meal. We got there to collect the meal and there was no drink with the paneer meal, I asked for my drink and the lady said no you don’t get one and she then started talking to one of her colleagues. I told her that we ordered the meal over the phone as this is what I normally get when I order. She bluntly said no so I just left it as I could not be bothered to argue and my food was getting cold. I got home and opened my paneer box and it was just 5 pieces of paneer, no peppers no onions no tomato’s!!! This is not acceptable. I paid over £8 for a small box of foil with 5 small pieces of paneer. The lamb biryani only had a few biriyani pieces. On top of this they only gave 1 red sauce and 1 mint sauce. This was not enough for 3 meals. Rude staff and quality of food is not how it used to be. Gone down hill! And such poor customer service.

Very rubbish food we all got diarrhoea and the crispy bharghua were oily, please avoid this place

We had a very disappointing experience with the food, which led to everyone in our group getting diarrhea. Additionally, the crispy pakoras were excessively oily. I strongly advise avoiding this

Food was excellent but too pricy. Hit and miss with what you order. Kebabs were dry.

Great naga kebab. Down side is cash only unless you do just eat and then the price is crazy!

Whenever you hear a microwave ping be aware, the rice was definitely reheated, it ruined me for 2 days, I have reported it to food hygiene and hopefully this place will close

I used to be a regular visitor however overtime the service has seriously deteriorated. Rude staff and increase in prices despite food quality decrease. The food is edible, but staff are unwilling to help with any concerns. Would recommend the likes of TamaTanga for good indian food in Leicester.

Got a delivery. Mixed grill which was great and chilli chips were great as well. Ordered the paneer tikka which was nice but did not get much. Would definitely order mixed grill and chilli chips again.

The mix grill and karmos chicken was dry.Once the food was done,I had to wait 15 minutes for naan.While food sat under the light.The place was freezing,you could not have dined in.

Amazing food and quick service. Quickly becoming a favourite Indian restaurant with the family. It caters well for vegetarians and meat eaters. We loved all our food including both our children.

The chips very cold, grilled lamb flat bread gone into the bin, the last time I’m afraid, I think all together no more takeaways, really a struggle to find a genuine and good ish food.

Didn't even get as far as ordering. Walked in, initially ignored by the male and female at the counter but remained patient as they were discussing something about the till. Eventually, the chap acknowledged my presence so I asked if I order at the counter or whether there's table service. He told me to sit where I like, so I did. After a good 10 minutes of sitting there like a lemon and twice being ignored by the lady, I asked her if she could take my order, to which she asked if i'd already ordered. No, as I was one of three customers in there, i'd have thought it pretty obvious i'd not ordered. She then told me I needed to order at the counter. This was not a person who realises the importance of customers to a business, by any stretch... Sorry, Indian Rooster, if you can't even get the front of house right, why would I even bother to try your food? Needless to say, I upped sticks and went to Grounded Kitchen instead, where I enjoyed a warm welcome and great food.

Total disappointment at the Queens Road branch. .

Refused to give us tap water, even though they legally have to if they are selling alcohol. So not complying with their licence. Will report if it happens again

Food is good BUT unfortunately did ask for no mayonnaise on the lamb burger as they don’t eat mayo at all and the burger had to be thrown away so waste of money, did request no Mayo on the app maybe you should look at orders clearly.

Food was extremely spicy and oily. The wings had no taste nd it was just covered with masala couldn't taste the wings properly and we had to throw the food away because of the uncooked wings with covering masala on top to make it look like it's cooked

Lovely flavours. Just way too spicy for us and don’t think there is an option for mild when you order which is a shame as we loved the flavours, just mouth was on fire!

I placed an order for delivery but when it was very late I realised that it was for collection. I rang the restaurant and they were happy to deliver. Great service and so friendly. The food is amazing as well .

A warning of ordering from these clowns. A £10.50 fish meal will only serve you a small tin foil container with a small portion of fish. Overpriced. The fish burger looked unappetising and the sauce they used was mint for £6. Overpriced and mint sauce?! Yuck. They swap a can of coke for fruit shoot.. £4 kids nugget meal was overcooked and not tender.. rip off and unprofessional. The monkey who delivered my order accused me of not answering my phone when he didn't ring me at all.

This is now my go-to place for grilled chicken, kebabs etc... authentic food at a fair price. Would get 5 stars if the grumpy old boy serving would crack a smile once in a while. Oh yes and phone ahead with your order or be prepared to wait a very long time.

The food is very good, chips were a little cold but overall really tasty. Service really needs to improve, I called to ask what comes in the Paneer burger, the man responded with “PANEER INNIT!?” Which was a rude response for what I thought was a fair question (does it come with salad/sauce etc). We ordered two meals, they forgot one portion of chips and both cans of drink. We then waited 20mins for them to come and deliver again. When I called the restaurant to tell them I have items items missing from my order, they passed me onto three different people, all three of them on separate occasions asked me how can I help you after I had already told the first guy the situation, which was frustrating to say the least. It’s a real shame, because the food is really good, service just needs to improve. I will order again and do recommend the food, just have to put up with the bad service.

Food tasted great but was delivered 25 minutes late because I had requested to have no coriander as a garnish. I had called the restaurant straight after placing the order to make sure they don’t put any coriander on the food. I was first told that the wings are already cooked and ready to go and they come with coriander so I should just take them off from the top!! After telling them that I have an allergy they then said they will prepare some new ones without the coriander placed on the top and this is apparently the reason for the delay in having the food sent. Surely every order should be freshly grilled and not just reheated!! I can’t believe it took the restaurant 1 hour 25 minutes to grill some wings!!

Food was outstanding can't fault any of it. I will say keep a glass of water and napkins nearby as food was spicy but I'm not complaining I like it like that. Only downfall was delivery being late but I don't mind as the driver did apologise and food was worth waiting for. Will definitely order again and recommend to others

Extremely disappointed based on price point was expecting breast meat in the boneless chicken, but received cheap thai meat without making it clear they use thigh meat, a common marketing approach many if not all site use today. Definitely not worth the money they charge.

Good arrived hot and my Son said he enjoyed his burger and chips. The wings were amazing and chicken. Definitely would order again 👍🏾😀

First time ordering from here, wont be the last time time. Food was delicious the tandoori wings were great but the rooster half chicken was out of this world, only downside was the wedges that were a little undercooked but other than that fantastic, look forward to you being our new regular weekend treat 😃

Freezing conditions whilst you are waiting for your food to be cooked. The food itself has a faint horrid taste to it, which now has put me off eating from there.

For now it only deserves this rating. People were waiting for almost an hour for their order. In my case it was the same and when I got my pizzas they realised that I have ordered a wrap so it was extra 20 mins of waiting. Older guy at the till was really confused and got my order wrong and later they refused to make a new product. Staff doesnt speak english which makes hard to communicate with them. They could also improve in hygiene inside the restaurant. Personally I recommend keema pizza and lamb spinner.

Tandoori wings and karmos chicken is amazing. However portion of large chips is not large chips which is very disappointing. Also they need more choice in the special offers.
