Indian Ocean Kitchen in Tameside

The food here is nice, however the service is terrible. I’ve ordered via uber eats before and they’ve waited ages and then cancelled the order. I have given them another chance last night - uber eats said wait time 15-25 minutes and it took an hour and a half to arrive and was mostly cold. I rang after 1 hr, they told me it would be another 5-10 mins, but took a further half an hour. Unfortunately I won’t be ordering again. We are vegan and it’s such a shame because they have great vegan options. Very bad service through uber eats.

Awful service. Cancelled order 10 minutes before it was due to be delivered via uber eats. It took them 50 minutes to conclude that they could not fulfill the most basic of orders. This place has gone down the hill.

This is now a takeaway/delivery so not putting anything on atmosphere. Food was absolutely awful. I ordered sheesh kebab and chips and a portion of meat samosas along with some veg ones. The chips were "yesterdays" chips. Recooked. Disgusting. The rest of it was so flavourless and bland. I wouldn't have given it to my dog. Didn't even eat most of it even though we're hungry. Waste of money. Going to have to make something. They should be ashamed of themselves. Who would distribute food as bad as this? Have some damn pride in what you do. Follow up from the reply from them stating the chips are cooked every hour. I'm sorry but this cannot be true. Either that or the oil has been well overused. Everyone, businesses, workers in any working industry should be proud of what they do is what I was trying to state. It's not a personal dig. It's a fact. We had to throw most of it away. It cannot have been fresh!

Ordered from here for the first time tonight. Food arrived within 30 minutes, hot & delicious. Think we've found our new takeaway. Thank you 👌🏼

Waited over 2hours still no signs of the food.rang the shop about 20 times no answer.i then drove to the shop to see where the food was to be told it had just left the shop .when we received the food it was freezing cold.very oily that had gone on the other food in the bag waste of 45 pounds the lot went in the bin don't waste your money or time.tge delivery delay was nothing to do with the weather the roads was clear as I drove from stalybridge to ashon perfectly fine

Just had a take out this evening and found that the food was cold and found hair in the chicken and spinach dish will not order again from this place sorry

Placed an order and it got cancelled after 45 minutes. Not very good at all, just shows they hadn't even started to prepare the order..... Follow up to the restaurants reply. I did not contact them. Order was placed via just eats, after waiting I received notification that the food was ready and being dispatched. It was then cancelled within a few minutes

Ordered on uber eats no sign of delivery and nobody answering the phone when calling just been scammed out of £45

Do not order from here. I am absolutely shocked by the service. We waited two hours for our order and it never arrived. Tried to ring the resturant several times with no answer. Absolutely shocking.

We order from here all the time. One of the best curries I've ever had.

After waiting 1 hour and spending £18 for 2 curries received worse curries in my life. I didn’t know stuff curries comes with chicken tikka and punjabi karahi comes with plain lamb curry. Not going again 👎

Don’t order from here. We were delivered mouldy samosas which we ate when we realised!!

We had the best experience again from Indian ocean! We had a take out delivery. The food was, as always absolutely excellent!! Delivery was great and a really nice guy delivered too! Thanks so much for another great meal!

Went here last night for a curry and what can I say it's not the biggest of places but the food is unreal for a takeaway I felt like I got that dine in freshness from takeaway food and that's a first deffinetly reccomend

Always good food and lovely service wouldn’t go anywhere else

I have been using Indian ocean service's for food for 20 plus year's and all I can say is definitely are the best in the business food all ways excellent staff always happy to help with your order and preference I have traveled around the country with my job and tasted different places for Curry's but in my opinion Indian ocean in Ashton under lyne is 110 percent the best ever keep going.

Honestly we think Indian Ocean is the best restaurant/takeaway in Tameside (and surrounding areas) Great quality food, really competitive prices and lovely customer service, including their friendly, delivery drivers. Our favourites at the moment are the Lamb Makhani and Aloo Channa and of course their legendary Ocean pilau rice (full of cashews, pistachios and almonds, yum!) Highly recommended!!

We had a takeaway from here at the weekend and was very disappointed. We don't takeaways often so was really looking forward to it, but wasn't worth waiting for. The chicken was so dry and the korma curry watery. When I was disposing into the bin there was liquid. The lamb starter was also very dry. Sorry but won't be ordering from here again. This is not the Indian Ocean I thought I was ordering from!

I'm terribly disappointed! Ordered food online only to he told 45 minutes later that they won't be able to fulfil my order. Who does that?

I've recently ordered from Indian Ocean via Ubereats. After waiting 2 hours our order did not arrive. Between myself and my husband we called the restaurant 8 times and could not get throught. Voicemail left and no return call.

I enjoyed my chicken jalfrezi but my wife's lamb tikka was awful with all the meat ending up in the bin, which, when you have waited and a quarter hours was a really disappointing meal .

You just cannot get better than the Indian Ocean takeaway Ashton under Lyme they have been the best for twenty years plus amazing more than five star thankyou every time 👍

20 minutes late asked for a plain done meat and they added a type of sauce, and on top of the 20 minutes late we had to wait an hour and an half added 20 minutes. Chips didn't have salt like asked for .

Excellent service, I ordered from here for a party very last minute. The staff were very accomodating and courteous. The manager Adeeb was very helpful in the situation ensuring the food was prepared on time, ready for collection with the option to also deliver. My guests enjoyed the food reffering to it as delicious, well prepared and very appetising. 5 stars, will definitely reccomend to other friends and family.

Ordered as a treat for Father’s Day, we would usually eat out however we decided to order a take away instead. Order was due around 8.30pm, I rang at 8.50pm to see where it was , arrived at 9.25pm, which was 2 hours after we ordered. I know that they were busy and was understanding. We ordered a chicken tikka briyiani with a dopiaza sauce this is usually a nice mild dish, and a chicken balti, this is something we eaten at many a restaurant and take away . Our order was £55.50 to say I’m disappointed is an understatement. The curry’s including the rice in the biryianis we’re too spicy, and I mean way too spicy, my husband loves a spicy curry but even he said it was inedible as it was too spicy, the only thing we enjoyed were the poppadoms and dips and breads. All in all, gutted that £55.50 was wasted. I’ve not used this place since the restaurant closed which I used to be a regular, sadly this will be the last time I order.

We had a takeaway which was delivered free of charge to Stalybridge. Very tasty chicken dishes. Would love to eat in at restaurant.

Used to love Indian ocean but tonight's delivery was horrible, soggy stale poppadoms, mango chutney that was like water and chicken tikka bhuna that was so spicy I could taste the flavours, not sure what's happened to this place but unfortunately I doubt we will be back

Never again. We have used Indian Ocean a few times, 1st couple of times excellent. Ordered New Years day, food was unedible. It was cold on arrival, the chicken bhuna was vile, soggy chips, samosas, need I go on? I phoned to complain, usual story, our food is always cooked from fresh, what was the problem, we can send out your order again...... no chance.

Indian ocean have been delivering to me all the way through Covid to date, Food is by far superior to any other, always fresh meats and sea food used. 20 months of deliveries and looking forward to the next

Fabulous food from Indian Ocean this evening. My husband had ordered online but our order didnt go through. However when i phoned to check they were brilliant and the food was so good. Brilliant Friday night takeaway.

First time Trying here since they moved from across the road and it did not disappoint, we had the Chicken tikka Napali and Sambar, both tasted as good as they ever did, the chicken was really nice and the portion sizes generous.

Lovely food and very reasonable prices. The staff were very helpful, will definitely order again.

This food is by far the best before in previous Indian Ocean went through a bad spell but now they have moved reduced their menu .this food is great value meal for 2 at 25 pounds what more can you say give this a try well worth the money and spot on delivery keep up the good work guys
