Indian Moment in Wandsworth

An interestingly sad experience to be sure. My friends and I had set on having a curry in clapham with one of our friends giving it a reference. We heard about the byob rule - fine to us - and wanted to get a beer before going in. When we went by the restaurant before and a worker really wanted us to come in and sit for a meal who right after we had bought our beers. After buying them and bringing them to the restaurant, we were met with quite hostile attitude. The new worker made a point of us having to order quickly and leave as they were closing. We were a bit shocked since the previous worker, who we did not see after, said we should come in and have a curry. At one point, one of the workers thought our friend had finished his beer, knocked over the bottle by mistake and then shook it afterwards to see if there was anymore which there was quite a bit of beer in it, very unprofessional. To top it all off, they started letting in more customers to sit and eat curry, so I guess the closing time was incorrect! Google had informed us the closing time was later than the workers had said to us, but they were adamant and walked away when we questioned it. Our food was unfortunately average, particularly our friend who had lamb as he said it was quite chewy. Overall, I hope the manner of the employees does more than the food could as it really was unprofessional.

Opening hours listed 1200 Sat . We asrrived - 4 adults with a 3 and a 4 year old at 1215 but rejected as the staff were cleaning. Not allowed in to sit and wait , so left . 4 year old peered through window and we were retrieved from 20 yards away. Then had a 40 minute wait until food arrived . No other customers by the time we left . Having said all that , the food was good .

Very good food, well presented, good atmosphere, good price. Very good all round. Good staff! Thanks for the Whisky.

Food was ok, very average but couldn’t believe the prices compared to the portion sizes. We ordered enough onion bhajis for for 5 of us and got charged £20.85 for 6 onion bhajis! I spoke with the member of staff about this and he said he’d “sort us out” next time but we won’t be returning. Curries were average and around £15 each for half the portion you’d get from a takeaway. The only redeeming factor is you can bring your own drinks but they do charge corkage.

One of the best Indian restaurants iv eaten at staff are very friendly especially raju his service was outstanding he looked after us very well 5 stars Chicken tikka masala was on point And also chicken korma

I drove up from Surrey to collect a takeaway from Indian Moment for a much needed curry - to blow out the winter cobwebs and help celebrate the festive season. On arrival, I was really reassured by the ‘Covid secure’ set up with hand sanitiser on entry, everyone wearing masks and rigorously maintaining social distancing, while maintaining their usual polite and welcoming approach. The food was superb as always: beautifully presented and neatly packed away in containers. We had meat samosas and tandoori king prawns to start followed by a mix of main courses to share - chicken madras, lamb rogon, chicken shashlik - all tender succulent and full of flavour and heat. Sides were sag aloo, poppadums, a mix of breads, chutneys and side salads. As always, it was well worth the drive there and back. I do like a good curry and eat it quite a lot in different places and keep going to back to Indian Moment. It is mine and my family’s (and quite a few other people I know’s) favourite. We do really enjoy the experience of eating in as well - great atmosphere and service and the presentation of the food is first rate (Michelin star quality in my opinion). We obviously couldn’t dine in on this occasion but hopefully we will be able to do so again soon.

A takeaway from Indian Moment never disappoints and is always delicious. Including leftovers the next day (always deliberately over order!) Our children happily tuck in to the chicken korma, chicken tikka madras, lamb rogan josh, lamb samosas (really good) and piles of naan, poppadums and chutneys. Food is beautifully presented, plentiful, clean, and not at all greasy. The best. We wish this fantastic top quality restaurant the very best as it navigates these difficult times. I’m sure (and hope) it’s huge popularity and many loyal customers will see it through.

My daughter and I had a delicious meal at Indian moment. It was such a cold wet evening, but inside it was cosy and welcoming, the food was delicious and atmosphere buzzing on a Tuesday. I could not recommend it enough. You must try the Gulab sweet rice pudding.

Booked our table for 7pm, very appealing that you can take your own alcohol with £1.95 corkage fee. Was asked if we wanted popodoms before we even sat down and just assumed they were keen. Was told we only had an hour in the restaurant which was fine but was asked 3 times what we wanted to order even though we asked for more time but was told we needed to hurry so we had more time to eat. Food arrived quick which was good, we were asked if we had finished 3 times even though we hadn’t and then when we had the dishes were cleared away and the bill handed to us. At 7.40 we were asked to leave after paying the bill even though we still had 20 minutes of our time slot left. Food was good, korma was quite spicy which is unusual but was fine.

Myself and a friend had a delicious meal at Indian Moment. The lamb shank was so tender. The service was excellent, they couldn’t have done more for us. Will definitely stop in again next time i feel like some curry!

My friend and I met for dinner last night and really would totally recommend this place.I got the typical chicken tikka with all the sides and she got a lamb shank which she loved. Will definitely be going back.

This place is a real find. Small but great ambience. Friendly staff. All food is prepared freshly to a very high standard. I have been to countless Indian restaurants but now I've found the best. I have eaten here and had food delivered and it is always fantastic. My favourite item on the menu is the lamb pasanda. Highly recommended

We were very keen to try out the food here after seeing the great reviews but was sorely disappointed. We tried the Biryani and the Karahi (Spicy) Chicken. The portions were good but the food lacked in depth of flavor like it had been watered down. The onions and the peppers in the Karahi dish were uncooked and overall the dishes lacked flavor. It was a real shame.

Have visited here a few times both in the former locaion on Northcote Road and here. Always delivers superb food - its small and friendly and now operating as Bring Your Own with a reasonable cover charge for "corkage" Lamb chops were excellent, meat always of high quality and flavour excellent

I drove up from Surrey (about 50 mins drive each way!) tonight to collect a takeaway for my family. Having tried everywhere round where we live, while there are some okay curry houses; nowhere comes close for the quality, taste and presentation of the food at Indian Moment. The service is also excellent - the staff are so attentive and always make my family and I feel so special and welcome when we go for a sit down meal there. Tonight we had a mix of classic (madras, rogon josh, tikka masala) and tandoor (tikka, shashlik) dishes, along with starters and breads etc. As always, we ordered too much! Not a problem as that’s tomorrow’s lunch sorted :)My family and I would highly recommend Indian Moment; either for a takeaway or a sit down meal.

We had another fabulous take away from here tonight. We travel from Surrey to collect it, wish they were closer to home but completely worth the effort. We have been visiting for many years since we lived in Clapham. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

Had the Lamb Rogan Josh. Was rich and succulent. You won't find a better curry in Clapham! BYOB is a bonus....Will be back!

The service here was amazing from start to finish! The restaurant it self has a very cozy feel and the food was delicious! We started with the vegetarian sharing platter and popadoms, safe to say we will be coming back for more. This was my first Indian resturant since lockdown was lifted and it was worth the wait :) x

I love Indian Moment. I've lived in the area for many years, and have tried many other Indian restaurants that are more convenient, closer, or simply easier to get take away from (e.g. all of those on Deliveroo and similar apps), and each time I try a different one, I regret not ordering from Indian Moment. When they were closed during lockdown, I was disappointed at some others that I ordered from, and it highlighted what great quality Indian Moment's food is. Their naan is excellent. Their chicken dishes have tender, fresh chicken (unlike many other restaurants where you can taste that it has been in the fridge for a couple of days). I mostly order takeaway these days and haven't gone to their new premises (the old one on Northcote Road was a bit old-fashioned), so I can't comment on their current service and ambience but can certainly vouch for the food.

So I've found it! A tasty, decent and quality vegetarian Indian takeaway. The vegetables used are delicious and not just the frozen packaged or potato only selection some other takeaways use.

My boyfriend and I had a great evening at Indian Moment on Saturday as our first restaurant meal out post-lockdown. The staff were very friendly, courteous and kind and all the necessary social distancing/health measures were in place. Despite this, we were made to feel very relaxed and the food was excellent as ever! We have visited many times and always had a great meal - I tried the Rajasthani Gosht lamb curry and my boyfriend had the amazing Fish Thali platter which came with a gorgeous pomegranate raita. The restaurant is currently BYOB, and our waiters were very helpful offering to store our drinks in the fridge/a wine cooler and bring them out / pour them for us to make it feel like the full restaurant experience still. Overall a great visit and would highly recommend. Thank you!

Visited here for the first time post lockdown after my sister recommended it. Felt very safe after a temperature check and socially distanced tables. The meal itself was delicious, I had the king prawn korma which was creamy and delicious and my boyfriend said that his Murgh Biriyani was the best curry he’s ever had. The service was exceptional and we’ll definitely be back soon!

Fantastic experience for a first meal out after lockdown. Staff were incredibly welcoming and took all the necessary precautions to ensure our safety. Food was fantastic and service was phenomenal. We can’t wait to return.

Can't be faulted and my whole family have been customers for over ten years. I have lived in SE1, SW11, SW3, SW4, WC1 and W11- I still keep coming back to Indian moment and rarely try other alternatives closer to home and if I do, to my peril. Service is fantastic, food is of the highest calibre. I'm so glad to be supporting an independent business that has a fantastic offering. Regularly a famous face is in the crowd, just on the down low.

Great food. During lockdown so only takeaway option but greeted by a very friendly team and was called when food ready which was great. A bit more expensive than expecting but a very satisfied family so happy to pay!

Sad we can’t visit in person but quality of food is still excellent as a takeaway. Delivery was quick and contact free. Would highly recommend.

We have been eating at Indian Moment since it first opened on the Northcote Road and have followed it to their new home on Battersea Rise. Their attention to detail remains consistent, the level of service impeccable and the food is always delicious with a wide variety to chose from. The classics never disappoint and there is always something new to try for the more adventurous. It's always a night out to enjoy.

A lovely meal - we were the only people in there which helped with social distancing. The phone rang a lot for takeaway orders which was great.Great chutney selection, tasty curries and fluffy naans. Service with a smile despite the ongoing situation. Couldn't fault it - please support your local businesses like this where you can, it definitely makes a huge difference :)

Ugh, dette var ikke bra... lite hyggelige ansatte, ikke autentisk indisk mat som i tillegg var både smakløs og kjedelig. Veldig dyrt i forhold til hva man får. Anbefaler ikke videre til andre :(

With delicious food, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere, Indian Moment provided a welcome respite from the rain on a cold, wet and windy March evening. The menu offered a wide range of appetising dishes with an interesting vegetarian section and having opted for Chicken Shashlik I was very happy with my choice. I would definitely recommend Indian Moment and will make sure I visit again.

Great and tasty food, very friendly and attentive service and very cozy atmosphere. Clean facilities. We really enjoyed the tikka masalla and rogan josh. The prices are really reasonable as well. We will definitely come back here.

The food in this place is wonderful and the service is second to none. Everyone was so helpful. The butter chicken and chicken jalfrezi are highly recommended. This is a must place to visit.

Tenía el cordero Rajasthani que era suculento y jugoso; la salsa de curry en la que estaba tenía una patada de chile pero también era suave y cremosa, puedo decir que estaba recién hecha. Realmente recomiendo el curry de pescado Keralen, la lubina estaba bien hecha, sabrosa y auténtica. También recomiendo el saag daal, me encanta el comino asado y el ajo allí. El peshwari naan fue probablemente el mejor que he probado en mi vida (¡y he tenido muchos!), Salió caliente y fresco, crujiente por fuera pero esponjoso por dentro, complementa las especias perfectamente. En serio bien.

Visited on a Friday evening with friends and very pleased with the meal and service. Poppadoms were served vertically (!) like toast in a rack, which made sense and kept them crispy. The pickles were all excellent ( I usually find one I don’t like, but not here ). All of our curries were very good, and of particular note the aubergine side - lovely big chunks of aubergine rather than mushy dice. Friendly service on top, so we intend to return.

We drove up from Surrey to go to Indian Moment as it’s our favourite Indian restaurant by a long way. We try to get up at least once every month and it’s definitely worth the long drive!

Had a great impromptu dinner. They made a vegetarian dish off menu which was excellent and offered a free drink at the end of the meal. Great service!

Enjoyed curry with mates, decent sized portions and good kingfishers. The paneer curry was fairly average to be honest. But the rest of the curry’s and the naan bread were great!

We were a walk in on a Saturday night, having recently relocated to the area and were so pleased to find such a great Indian on our doorstep, food was great (as was the booze-not always the case!) and the wait staff couldn’t have been more attentive. We’ll definitely be back. Soon!

At first I was surprised to see it so high on the London list, 39th out of 19,000+! Couldn’t believe it. Wanted to taste it with own mouth, and I am glad I did, my tastebuds tingled with the taste of freshness and quality. Was no longer shocked, I’ll be telling all my friends as well as all those who are not my friends. Popadoms so fresh the sound of the cracking is a pleasure to your ears, not like restaurants where they are stale. The curry itself was perfect too!

If you’re looking for a great Indian restaurant in the Clapham area.. look no further! The food here is fantastic! I recommend trying the chicken tikka masala and the staff here are really friendly. Location is less than a 10 min walk from the station and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated. 100% will be here again

Went as a group of 10 people on New Years Eve, let’s just say we needed some good food to set us up before a large night It delivered. Brilliant food, brilliant service

Loved this place! Came in on a Friday night and the restaurant was crowded but they made room for us. Excellent service, but most importantly, absolutely delicious food! Really can’t praise this little gem enough. Went there with my girlfriend and her kids, I had the fish thali and my girlfriend had the meat thali. Food was exquisite, staff were super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be going back. Well done Indian Moment and thank you.

Came here with a family of 6 of us. The staff were so attentive and the food incredible. Couldn’t have asked for better. Would highly recommend the chicken tikka and lamb chops. Only place I’ve been to where the lamb is so tender that it has the taste of lamb but a texture akin to chicken. Fantastic!

Charming staff, but could do with more. Portions not huge but adequate, average food but mine was a little bland and not very hot . Quite noisy when busy . Would try again to see if better .

This is absolutely the best curry in London! Indian Moment never disappoints, Abdul and his team are fantastic hosts week in and week out and the food quality is second to none! From Masala to Vindaloo the menu is brilliant and everything we have ordered has been consistently delicious. I love to try new restaurants and food types but the one place we keep returning to is Indian Moment, we completely recommend.

Dont get me wrong... the food was amazing; I would have given it 4 stars. But when we payed a guy called 'Raj' stood over my girlfriend and made her write a review, he basically wrote it for her...he was rude to her when it was 98 characters out of 100. The manager gave us both a shot of baileys to apologise whilst we saw 'Raj' laughing at us in the background. Manager said we could have 20% of the next time we came but when I said how could we prove it he said 'we will remember you'

Attentive from start to finish we had a wonderful curry and all our dietary requirements were catered for. One of us was running late but they managed to ensure that all our dinner arrived at the same time. A great time had by all!

Had a wonderful meal with friends at the Indian moment, we were greeted promptly with wonderful table service. Our meal was so lovely the food arrived in good time and was so tasty, very authentic wonderful food. The waiting staff did a wonderful job of looking after us.
