Amazing addition to Portishead! I don't normally love spicy food and have never been able to enjoy a meal in an Indian restaurant because of that - this has changed now that I've found Indian Empire! The food is great and super fresh. We had starters, Tikka masala and the restaurant special korma (and the spice level was tailored to our request!!). I have tried several Indian restaurants before, but this is no ordinary Indian restaurant. Staff were lovely made us feel special. The environment was calm in a Friday evening. Good price and good portions (we even took some food home). The cleanliness was good as well, including toilets.

Curry time. Apart from these little buggers, little green chillies, the meal, well Shami with egg, cooked fresh. Lots of chicken with salad. The mains were cooked to order. Lots of veg with the meal. Taste and smell the nagra, No rush place. Fresh naan. Families, kids and friends from town. Really enjoyed.

The food was really nice, we all had different dishes off the menu - 6 of us were very happy.

Fantastic experience! Possibly my favorite Indian food experience ever. All food was cooked to order and it was so rich and flavorful. The space is very comfortable, the staff is extremely kind. Genuinely enjoyed Indian Empire.

Food was amazing! cooked to requested spice level and so tasty. Service was really personal and nice, did take a little time but only because was cooked from scratch, definitely worth the wait. Never really enjoyed indian before but I am definitely coming back and trying everything on this menu!

This is the second time we have ordered from here. Hands down one of the best curries we have ever had. Definitely the best place to order from in portishead. The portions are just the right size, prices are on par with the quality of the food. The sag aloo is out of this world. I would definitely recommend ordering from here.

First time here and would definitely recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing, plentiful (Set meal for 2) and affordable. The server was fantastic and friendly. He even stopped long enough to tell us a bit about the food and where it originated from

Un edible. It is the worst Indian about. Two mouthful’s and straight in the bin. There was more bits in it than the garden path. I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. The rice was ok but for the price I could of bought 25 packets of uncle bens

Takeaway, collected on Friday. Lovely staff, timed to the minute. Food was excellent Many choices off the standard fare, especially fish and vegetarian options. Will be my go-to from now on

Top notch restaurant with outstanding food. Wonderful flavours in all the dishes we ordered from a very extensive menu, which includes lobster and scallops. Very good service too. Our first visit definitely won't be our last. Go!

Delicious food, a good selection on the menu, walked in and was seated right away. Everyones food came out piping hot and all together. Great taste, great price. Will be going again.

Really lovely Indian food, big portions full of flavour

they appeared on just eat so I ordered ,the food was very nice, however when they came to drop off the food the driver said my house was to far from them so they wouldn't deliver again, basically don't order in future. if that is the case don't show clevedon as a delivery area if it can't be done....

Worst lamb shank I’ve ever had/seen. Not cooked anywhere near long enough and was just a bundle of inedible fat. Awful.

I chose this Indian due to best delivery time. I was informed there was a delay at the time my delivery was due, but then it kept changing. I called and was told they were outside my house, they weren’t. I then had to call multiple times & they clearly hadn’t even left. When it finally arrived, food was excessively oily and the poppadoms were stale. I gave opportunity to rectify by requesting a part refund via just eat, but restaurant refused this, so felt no choice but to leave this review.

The best local authentic takeout Indian food we've had in a long time. Order was a little late but we were given complimentary soft drinks. Really hope this place stays!

All I can say really that I was sorely disappointed and never got the chance to eat here. I booked a table over the phone which was confirmed and then about an hour before was left a message that they would have to cancel as they had overbooked! When I phoned to query nothing could be done. Needless to say I won’t be trying again and would be wary that they will cancel our booking again even if we tried.

Visited for the first time last night after hearing great things. We were not disappointed. The team are lovely and it feels personal. They will amend dishes if you like things a certain way and talk to you about them. It was a full house with one huge table all of course wanting to be served together, they managed this really well. Our food was exceptional, generous portions, piping hot and full of flavour. BYO is another bonus and they bring you ice cold glasses for your drinks. Highly recommend.

Wow what Can I say. Ate at all restaurants and takeaways locally and can honestly say this is the best food I have eaten. Looks and tastes like authentic Indian Food. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Would defo recommend and return.

Just had an incredible meal. Staff were fantastic, owners really friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic, huge portions incredibly tasty and very reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone. BYO a big plus with chilled glasses and bottle openers provided.

We are load of curry enthusiasts, and we all agreed this place has set a new level of quality in town. All of the dishes we had were good, but one or two outstanding. The food is served in very attractive pottery bowls, and the portions are very generous. My only criticism is that (as in most Indian restaurants) the Menu is (in my opinion) far too big, so it’s hard to choose. This could be remedied by having some classics by all means, but perhaps a small section of say 6 “House Specials”- all cooked individually and not using generic sauces. It’s also a BYO so keeps the cost very reasonable.

A big shoutout to this indipendent family business. The food was cooked to perfection. It was my husbands birthday and they made it extra special for him. I have tried Indian food everywhere in Portishead but none compared to the standards here. Would defineatly go again.

Very tasty food, we ordered the Prawns, Panner & Veggi curries. We had the food delivered & the stated wait time was between 45/60 minutes which was absolutely fine & it was delivered within that stated time frame. The food was still hot when it arrived. Very happy with everything.

Indian Empire Portishead : over the years I’ve generally avoided Indian restaurants ( too much food colouring, disappointing dishes etc) instead we’ve bought good supermarket curries to take home. Not now! Portishead is lucky to have a local family running this new High Street restaurant. We ate there for the first time this evening. First class food in generous quantities with impeccable and friendly service. The menu is like an encyclopaedia - but they’ll help you choose depending on your taste preferences. A real pleasure to dine there - they do takeaways too.

Was taken there by a friend. Large restaurant with high ceiling and comfy chairs. Really good decor, extensive menu, very friendly and attentive. My chicken shashlik with vegetable rice was delightful. No alcohol sold. You can bring your own if that’s you’re thing

Wonderful food, huge portions, great service, take your own drinks which is a great considering the cost of drinks in Portishead. I cannot recommend them highly enough. It is really edging out the competition on the High Street for a curry. Run by a lovely family team with a very welcoming atmosphere. Please support this new restaurant, they really deserve it

Didn’t eat in but got a takeaway and collected. Thought the setup was slightly strange because collection point was at the rear of the restaurant so anyone collecting would have to walk past seated diners. We ordered chicken tikka masala, Pilau Rice, sag aloo, onion bhajis, peshwari naan, popadoms and pickles. The chicken and sag aloo were the best I’ve tasted. The popadom pickles were not to my taste (the mango was too thick to dip into and the mint sauce had a spicy kick as though it has mustard added to it). In my opinion the onion bhajis were reheated and so dry we couldn’t eat them. If they had been freshly cooked then I think they would have been amazing (nice big round balls as opposed to the flat ones we have had before). Similarly the peshwari naan in my opinion was reheated. Too dry and it went in the bin with the bhajis. On balance we will take a chance and go again because I think if everything was cooked fresh to order then the meal would have been amazing. Best of luck to the team who were polite and welcoming

Great food and friendly efficient service. Indian Empire are up against stuff competition in the town but I really recommend you give them a try. Probably one of the best curries I've eaten
