Indian Cottage in Glasgow City

No puedo criticar este fantástico restaurante en absoluto. Mi segunda visita en 5 días fue una vez más una experiencia muy agradable. La excelente comida, las grandes porciones y el amable personal ahora lo han convertido en mi parada de curry número uno en Stirling.

Friendly service and the food arrived quicker than estimated. Very enjoyable. Would recommend.

Met up with my friends again on my current visit back home to Glasgow here at Indian Cottage where we always enjoy a great buffet meal. Great value for the money particularly the sizzling platter of starters of chicken wings, pakora and onion rings that we work our way through before tackling the generous buffet of about 6 or 7 meat curries, 1 veggie and rice and naan breads.

More than good !! Please keep it up Your new chef is top notch and don't lose him for bottom line profit . G WALLACE

Pakora as a starter very bhuna okay not anything special. Garlic Nan lacked garlic. 1st time customer but not for a return customer unfortunately. Quick delivery and polite driver.

Food was alright. Not the hottest when it arrived. There also wasn’t many chips in the munchy box and the garlic bread was soggy.

We visited today for the first time (12/4/18) as a family of 2 adults and 4 children for the lunch buffet. We were seated promptly and immediately were served poppadums and spiced onions while the waiter took our drinks order. He got us our drinks in a timely manner and informed us that our starter would be with us shortly. A short time later he produced 2 sizzling hot plates of starters (veg pakora, chicken pakora, onions, chicken wings, chicken chaat, tandoori chicken and pakora sauce) with a side dish of creamy garlic mushrooms. Everything was cooked to perfection and was obviously sizzling hot. The curries for the main dish were exceptional, so flavoursome and Morris. Our waiter informed us at the end of the meal that the restaurant will be closing in 3 weeks which we were extremely disappointed at as our youngest daughter had wanted to come for her 6th birthday meal in July. Here’s hoping we get to dine at your new establishment. Good luck guys 👍

Our food arrived very quickly and out curries tasted nice. Out naan breads were so over baked that's they cracked like poppadoms and one of our curries was wrong (we received a Korma instead of a Jalfrezi). We didn't have time to phone and ask for replacements. Disappointing, wouldn't order again with so many good curry places in the area.

Words and pictures don't do the place justice. When you arrive your given the most beautiful platter of meats still sizzling away. Absolutely fantastic and delicious. Buffet selection is great as well once you finish your appetizer feast. Very friendly staff and lovely little place for lunch if your in the area. Very reasonable priced as well

Myself and a few work mates popped in here for the lunch time buffet which is between 12pm-2pm. They brought over poppadums and spiced onions as an appetiser then a hot plate with starters including chicken tikka, pakora,chicken chat. After this we were invited to the buffet which had about 7 different curries, chips, rice and naan bread. There was nothing that I didn’t like. My favourite was the chicken chasni. All for £5.95!!! Amazing food, amazing value. Will definitely be back.

food was sub-standard ! waited an hour & fifteen mins for a simle order...then two delivery guys arrived ?? - wouldn't recommend.

First time ordering. Won't be the last. Considering the weather, service was excellent and although late (due to weather I assume ) food was pipping hot!!! Loved it! Thank you for such lovely food !

Got regular instead of King kebab

The king mixed kebabs only had lamb and chicken tikka in them, they were missing all the other meat. Pretty disappointing. The burger was nice. Chips are skinny fries, which are okay. Garlic sauce is lovely, as is the chilli sauce.

Fish & chips? Not so much. The fish is covered in the crumble-style, non-authentic 'batter' and the chips are thin fries ala McDonald's. The calzone didn't have nearly enough sauce and cheese on the inside.

Food was beyond expectations. Delicious and more than enough to eat. Great value for money. The flavours were authentic and not bland or samey

Meat and rice was good, the bread stuff (peshwari naan and chapati) was really not that nice

I love LOVE this place! South Indian garlic chilli dishes are great, as is everything else I've ordered from here. Best Indian restaurant in the area by far.

The meal was very good and I would order it again there was even a small extra it was very tasty.

Delivery was due to take 45 minutes and took over an hour and 45 minutes.

Food had spilled out of container all over bad and other items - it happens! couldn’t have been more helpful, order was replaced with no argument and replacement arrived within 15 mins of the original. Really good service and polite, helpful staff. Food was really tasty. Will definitely use again, thanks

ordered food at 6.15... was supposed to arrive for 7.20 but was half an hour late and food was freezing! ordered here the past 7 times on just eat and food is good but 1 hour 30mins delivery time when its meant to 50 mins is not ok. don't mind if its busy but not if the food is not warm!!! not happy!

Pitta bread was hard like it had been microwaved. The whole thing was stone cold.

Bhuna. Very thick sauce. Too thick.

25 mins added by restaurant for delivery, came 20mins later than that so total wait was 90mins. Spoke to restaurant 10mins after delivery time. Not very confident in their service. Also gave me a story about a problem with the pizza ovens. Food arrived, driver very polite and apologiesed for any delay. Was still hot so hadn't been sitting long and was a decent meal with good portions. Only got a plain naan when we'd ordered a garlic naan though. This is our first order from this establishment. Overall, pretty disappointed and would probably not use them again.

Not used this restaurant before, but will use again. Munch box & kebabs good quality & value for money. Delivery was v quick & driver pleasant. Would highly recommend.

Meal was lovely, still piping hot when I got home. Still very disappointed that you have stopped delivering to our area, my mum doesn’t drive which means she can’t use you anymore unless I’m there to come and collect. would still recommend you guys though for sit in or takeaway :)

Bhuna never arrived with order. Called to report. It did come within an extra 20 mins. Order wasnt the warmest. Sadly won't order again as it wasn't a great standard.

Although the seating we were in was a little cramped it did not detracted from my enjoyment of the best curry I’ve eaten (other than my own home made) in years. We all enjoyed every morsel from starters to ice cream cleansing:) I have simply no idea why there were empty tables in this restaurant on a Saturday night. In future, if going out for a meal in Stirling this is top of my list.

I would like to request a full refund for our order this evening, the food quality was bland and very watery. the garlic mushrooms had not seen a clove of garlic in its life, the Bombay potatoes had the consistency of soup and the chicken korma with pineapple, the chicken was slimy and the sauce, quite impressively, had no taste whatsoever. Dreadful customer service. Food never arrived, was well over an hour late. The restaurant promised a phone call, and didn't call. Said it was out for delivery on 2 separate occasions and even sent an email at one point to say the food had been delivered. Very disappointing.

Visited this restaurant twice in recently and the food was excellent both times. The staff were very nice and attentive. We had different curries each time and they were all very good. My wife likes a mild Patia but they are normally not that good, she thought the Patia here was really good with a great base to it. I like a hot curry and the South Indian Garlic Chilli was very nice.

Only half the order arrived, and once I complained it took over an hour for the other half to be delivered

Honestly the nicest Indian takeaway we've had in Glasgow. I find it really hard to get a good flavoursome korma, but the shahi korma was amazing. My partner said it was the nicest dupiaza he'd had up here too. Was delivered early too and the guy found the flat no problem. Will only order Indian from here now!

We went and got the buffet, they came out with a starter platter which was to die for then we had the choice of several main dishes which were all extremely nice. The only disappointing thing was that the lager tasted like it had been watered down, i will definitely be back in the near future maybe this time i will have a soft drink.

There were 5 of us for lunch today - we usually get together here whenever I am back for a visit to Glasgow from New York state. They bring in poppadums, spiced onions and dip - then they will bring in sizzling platters of starters including pakora, coconut mushrooms (fabulous flavour), potato, onion rings, chicken drumsticks and chicken breast bits and fried onions. A small buffet of only 9 containers which include 4 chicken dishes, a veggie dish, lamb Achari, chips, rice and naan bread. We ate as much as we wanted - my favourite was the chicken tikka masala with the Lamb Achari a close second. Great value for the money !! Only £6 a head.

unfortunately due to my curry coming with no rice. I had to go out and buy some from another takeaway before my dinner went cold. apart from that the curry was really nice but would have liked the chilli's to be chopped next time rather than hole chillie's in my dinner.

Rice was soggy delivery time was on time to be fair but thats not what i paid for the masala was horrible had a right sore belly after it wont be ordering again from here very poor standards no wonder they have a discount the chicken pakora is average at best but the curries were awful had bowel pain after back end running like the clyde excuse the severity of the expression but true please dont waste your money first and last time ordering sorry !!

This is the most curry we've ever eaten from a takeaway- usually can't manage the lot, but this was SO TASTY! Had prawn biryani with madras sauce and south indian garlic chilli chicken, with chapattis and a garlic naan. Thought we'd have enough to do tomorrow as well, but ate so much. Really tasty curries and lovely delivery guy.

great value with the discount at the moment. bought the meat munchie box and it's nice and tasty. my only issue is that the Donna kebab meat is sliced too thick. should be wafer thin

First time we tried Indian Cottage. Mixed feelings so far. Brilliant and friendly delivery guy but food arrived 35 mins too early. Restaurant added 30mins at the time of ordering! Food is a mixed feeling, rice in plastic bags, nan and chapati very dry and floury taste. Pieces of chicken meant to be chargrilled but they never seen grill in their life. Prawn curry tastes good but those were the smallest prawns I've ever seen. They had a good deal at 30% off but I won't be coming back.

This is the best restaurant in the UK. I travel from Edinburgh to this restaurant. The place is an absolute legend. Wonderful staff and eat all you can for £5.95 at lunch times. I can recommend this establishment. You will not be sorry.

Didn't like the food at all!!! Had ordered garlic naan but what came was no where near to naan. Saag paneer is horrible ... looks like it was made from some ready to cook curry sauce and not made fresh

Great value and fast delivery. Wasn't as impressed this time with lamb tandoori as it was either over cooked or substituted for other meat as never had a lamb taste and was really tough. The curry sauce with it and the rice were great but the meat just wasnt the same quality as my previous order. Garlic mushrooms and other items were really nice so overall satisfied. Hoping the lamb isn't being swapped out for a cheaper meat due to the promotion! Will give it another go anyway as usually really good.

Have been a regular here for 5+ years now & no other Indian Restaurant comes close in terms of taste, quality, portion sizes & reasonably priced. I would recommend the Garlic Chapati's & the Bhuna is the best i've ever had the pleasure of as are the garlic mushrooms. If your looking for a treat, spoil yourself here, you wont be disappointed. :)

Actually one of the best takeaway meals I have had in a long while. The quality of the meat in both the chicken dopiaza and tender lamb Bhuna was excellent and the meal was delicious tasting. The rice was good too. Delivered hot and by a polite driver.

I've never written a review on just eat before but I ordered a few weeks ago and lamb bhuna was missing then tonight a chicken omelette appears as a plain omelette. You have a good discount deal but it feels like you're making you the difference by not delivering items. Shocking service!!! Your delivery driver is a nice guy but not including things is not acceptable when there are so many take aways around

Been here on numerous occasions and it never ceases to amaze me that I can get a starter and a choice of main course along with a pint of lager for under a tenner Monday to Thursday. It's a no frills buffet but exceptional value for the West end.

Really good value with the current promotion. Very nice delivery guy too who even returned five mins later as he remembered hadn't dropped off my juice - which I appreciated as a lot of restaurants would have just not bothered. The food itself was good quality and fairly large portions especially the lamb tandoori which tasted great. Only negative was that the burger bun was very soggy maybe better to toast the buns as half it was like a wet sponge and inedible which was a shame as it was very well packaged and looked really tasty but the bottom part of the bun definitely needed toasted as it had soaked everything up! The chips were perfectly crispy however even though in same container. Would definitely recommend based on overall quality and value.

Been waiting over an hour for my delivery! No contact from the restaurant to offer any sort of explanation. It's Tuesday evening, not a busy Friday night. Almost half an hour later than the expected delivery time. Abysmal.
