Indian Chef in South Hams

Recently tried Indian chef for the first time, 100% recommend for anyone thinking about it! Delicious food and catered for my wife who has a nut allergy. We had 2 chicken tikka masalas nut free!

First time ordering here and it was amazing, upon entering the restaurant you notice how clean it is. I ordered the chicken Tikka masala, the sauce was perfect and the chicken nice & tender alongside keema rice which was delicious 😋 with a side of onion bahjis. Highly recommend! I will be ordering again soon.

Ordered a couple of times from Indian Chef now. Perfect every time. Food was piping hot and arrived a lot sooner than expected. The website is easy to use. We tried the lamb tikka rogon josh for the first time at Indian Chef and it was superb, definitely did not disappoint! Highly recommended. Thank you!

Best lamb dhansak I've had in Plymouth. Not the most extensive menu and tucked away in woolwell but worth a visit. These guys can cook!!

Omg we left we robrough 3 years ago,we've had to buy an Indian meal else where BUT no one has come even close to being as good as from this take away. Just drove 12 miles round trip and our meal was EXCELLENT !!!!!

We have been there forst time on 23rd of August. Ordered kurma and dopiaza curry with rice and naan bread. Food was delicious. Absolutely lovely, tastey, perfect. Service was good.

First time ordering from here and I was not disappointed! I had King Prawn Madras and wow was it hot! (haven’t had that kick from other takeaways). Very tasty and thoroughly enjoyed! No more expensive than any other Indian takeaway, so I think it was good value for money! Delivered on time and piping hot! No complaints, will be using again!

Fast Delivery Food is hot n Fresh

Great food at decent prices with fast delivery, and they found my house which no one does right away and without me standing out in the cold for ten minutes trying to talk them in. Ordering via the website has a few rough looking edges but was easy and fast, once I clicked on "Order Now" while looking at the menu and the "Add" buttons for a minute wondering why I could not use them. But with that one exception the experience and the food was the BEST TAKEOUT I HAVE HAD in over 3 years. Really. Take them seriously when they say something is spicy/hot. UPDATE July 8, 2023 Indian Chef continues to impress me. The food is consistently excellent, the deliveries are almost always surprisingly fast, the prices are very reasonable and the meats they use have a natural texture, which sometimes means bones. To me that is a good sign, animals and bones go together. But if you are not expecting them then they might be an unwelcome surprise. I have never reviewed a place positively twice before, NEVER. But this place deserves to be even more successful than it already is. Excellent food, polite staff, fast delivery, decent prices and portion sizes. SIX Stars.

Tasty Garlic naan, fresh from the tandoor oven. Friendly front of house. Will definitely be back.

Recently purchased 3 curry's and very very disappointed. There is no flavour what's so ever. Be aware with guidance on web site. If you order chicken tikka curry, you will get a basic no flavour stock. Which the manager said its made for British people so not spicy you have to ask. Surely if you go into a indian takeout, it should taste indian. Will definitely give this place a wide berth miss.

Every visit of 7 has been pleasure. Some staff have been job's worth's to me. Some stand above their colleagues. All and all no complaints

Always loved this indian take away, however, recently costs have risen in line with increased food costs (which is fair) but, the portion sizes seem smaller which is disappointing. Still love the food though.

Been going here most weekend for over 6 years until tonight when they forgot my rice dish so my partner had to just eat a chicken dish ... I rang up and they said 'next time you can have a rice on the house' ... I asked how was this on the house when I've already paid for it. They refused to give me any sort of freebie or refund to pay for their mistake. Very disappointed at the customer service and rudeness from Ali in the background of the phone call.

I have order from this take out many times. It's our current first thought when we consider an Indian take out. Never had a bad dish and I've always been welcomed when visiting. Their prices are slightly higher average but I'm happy to pay for enjoyable food.

Me and the missus have been coming here for 6 years and have never been dissapointed with the food or the quality of it. Always fresh tasting, literally no oil whatsoever. Always generous portions and the staff are very friendly. Hands down the best Indian ever, i can say we will never stop going here :)

Opening time says until 11, I went in at 9.30 and the extremely rude man left us standing at the counter for a few minutes then said they were closed, even though door was still open and a delivery had just gone out. When I mentioned that the sign says they were open til 11 he said 'well we are closed'. Just lost my custom forever!

Disgusting meal , hardly any flavour , I had spinach bhaji (eww) ,popadoms (these were ok) , naan bread (alright..) , mango chutney (no flavour and watery) , mint dip (flavourless) pilau rice, chicken jalfrezi and chicken Bhuna . Found so many bones in both my curries made me want to vomit 🤮 very flavourless and couldn’t tell them apart they were so bad . Spinach bhaji was like a wet splat of spinach nothing nice about it at all. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone !! Sept 2018

We bought a meal from here yesterday I had lamb passanda ,lamb was like leather.Husband phoned and complained and was told it was supposed to be like that as it was tandoori . Needless to say we wont be buying from here again ,i work for a food place myself and we always take customer complaints seriously, unlike this establishment .

Was lovely only took 45 minutes from deciding to have takeaway from here will use always and young lady who delivered it deserved her tip thank you so much x

The food here is amazing. We've got Indian takeaways virtually on our doorstep but do a 14 mile round trip to come here. Price is pretty good and staff are very friendly too. Never disappointed.

13.01.18 picked up a chicken tikka masala tonight which had 2 large chicken bones in and 1 very sharp small bone in. Chicken used to be good from here but meal was totally ruined. No care has gone into preparing this meal. I will never return to Indian Chef.

Absolutely disgusted,I ordered a chicken madras and got a foil tray of runny (god knows what),with a couple of chicken chunks in it!..£14.60 I paid!.. utter shite ,I threw it in the bin!.... I think the other reviews must have been paid to lie, cos its the worst meal ive ever ordered from anywhere!.

Been to many Indian restaurants and takeaways and this one is by far the best. You might have to wait 20 minutes for the food, but it's well worth it, the food is sublime. It's the only one I will go to now.
