India Lounge in Wigan

Possibly the worst service ever. Whilst the food was tasty, 2 and a half hours is excessive . Staff more interested in acting the goat. No greeting, no organisation. One member of staff barged me out of the way on 3 occasions. I thought we would give the place another chance. What a mistake. First rate service with second rate food is preferable to this farce. Ranked 2nd in Wigan? Someone's having a laugh.

Had great service and food on Wednesday night jay as usual looked after us superbly. Fantastic news zac is opening a new restaurant VASPIAN in what was the king William (king billy) in Platt Bridge.we seen the photos it is unbelievable costing many hundreds of thousands of pounds for the refurbishment.we have been to hundreds of restaurants all over the uk and world and this tops them all. Look out for the opening date.well done Zac we can’t wait 👏👏👍

Every time I come to Wigan I make a point of eating here. The food is stunning! Always wanna lick the plate clean! Could not recommend this place highly enough, the staff have the best banter. Monza looked after us tonight and he went above and beyond great service! Just left and counting down the days till we go back

Me my wife and family have been going to India Lounge for over 10 years,we go on a weekly basis unless we are away on holiday or business,and would not go anywhere else,zac and his team are amazing,the food and service is truly superb do yourself a favour and try for yourself and just like us I am sure you will become regulars well done guys see you tomorrow 👍👍Xx

Best Indian restaurant in Wigan , would recommend this to everybody who loves value for money for excellent cuisine. Get the party menu which is £21 for a 5 course meal.

Excellent meal in excellent friendly surroundings. The price was very reasonable and so where the drinks we will most certsinly be back for another family get together.

We enjoyed our visit very much and would love to return as the menu is extensive with many interesting dishes we've not seen before. The mixed starter was absolutely terrific. Our two curries were delicious and served very nicely with beautiful pillau rice and good fresh Naan. Detaills like dips and wine were of the same exceptionally high standard. Considering this isn't the most expensive Indian restaurant in the town we thought the Inndia Lounge gave really good value - we could not have asked for better comfort, food or service.

We visited here with friends and had a lovely meal. The food was tasty and the service was excellent. Thanks to Jay for the warm welcome and friendly service.

Wow what can I say we have ordered take away several times from India lounge but decided to eat in can't praise this place enough the food was fantastic I never wanted it to end.we ate off the special menu three courses for 11.95 which is value for money. I had tandoori sizzler would highly recommend, the service was impeccable big thank you to jay and Zac making us feel very welcome and the attention they gave to our son Ben was brilliant this place is a must and we will surely be back thank you for all you did for us this evening.

First time trying India food in the UK,my family and I agree that the curry was awesome!The staff who serviced us are friendly and nice as well,one is called Jay.We absolutely had a great time and definitely will visit again;)

Stayed locally and researched the best rated curry houses. This place came up so thought I’d try. Welcomed on arrival with a beer and a table, great people! Curry was amazing, very tasty👍 100% will return here..hopefully for a table more then one next time!!!

Me and my wife went to India lounge last night for our weekly fabulous meal,the last night before lockdown,zac and his wonderful team as usual treated us and the rest of the customers like family,great food and service as usual,it’s going to be difficult for restaurants and all businesses,so come on guys let’s run the feet off the fab India lounge chefs and keep that takeaway phone ringing till it smokes Xx

Having read the great reviews we decided to give this a try. So glad we did. The service was brilliant and so friendlyThere was an amazing choice of starters and mains with a great selection of unusual ones. The proof is in the taste and it was absolutely fabulous. If you like the curry to bite a little then try the Chicken Rezzala. No wonder it is the5th top restaurant in Wigan. Well done guys

Having read the reviews for this restaurant, we decided to give it a try and we were certainly glad we did! It is a large place, but still has a friendly feel due to the lovely staff. The booth in which we sat was very comfortable and felt well spaced from neighbouring tables which is important in this time of social distancing. The tablecloths and napkins were good quality, again adding to the ambiance of the place.Now to the important bit, the food! I really can't praise it highly enough. It was superb! My husband truly felt that his dish was the best Indian food he had ever tasted in the 50 years we have enjoyed this type of food. I must say, I also cannot think I have had better. We will undoubtedly return soon to this great place.

We ordered a takeaway this particular evening the meal overall was ok but the poppadums wasnt fresh. I think you get better quality food when you dine in

I’ve always been a regular here but haven’t been for a while so me and my friends booked a table here for a catch up and BONUS it was a eat out help out night! We were seated at our table which Was already laid out and had your cutlery Wrapped in a cloth napkin which I thought was a good idea in these times. We had poppadoms, onion bhaji and for mains a tandoori mixed grill! Although there was a bit of wait due to how busy it was, this wasn’t minded as we were chatting and the food was amazing! Certainly didn’t disappoint! When the bill came, we were pleasantly surprised so all in all a fab night! Can’t wait to come back again!

We have been frequent visitors for over 9 years,me and my wife go every Wednesday evening unless on holiday,and quite often have a takeaway and the food is honestly first class.we had a retail store in the galleries,and a warehouse in goose green and our go to restaurant to take reps and suppliers was India lounge,and our guests always gave a five star for the fantastic food and service,We have been frequent visitors to Indian restaurants all over the uk while on buying trips and we can honestly say India lounge is the best we have ever had.well done guys can’t wait for tonight’s visit, Alan and Gina.

Arrived last night and the decor is nice and so is the building think it's an old church but that was where the pleasure ended was seated and had to ask for napkins for our starters and was given paper ones. Starter arrived and was nothing special at all and then it was time for main. I ordered a 2 chilli heat meal think it was called CHAT and when it arrived and I tatsed it it was just sweet zero heat what so ever. My partner order a meal with king prawns in and it had one prawn in it. Whem we was having out mains we was brought 1 proper napkin and had to ask for another one. I was not impressed with the food or service and we both have got dodgy tummies todayAll I can say is we won't be going back again ever

Ate here during the ‘Eat out to help out’ scheme. Noticed the bill was pretty high after the discount (only one adult, one child and one toddler eating) but was in a rush to get home with a young child. Messaged to question my bill when I got home. The reply was so rude and patronising from staff. They aren’t discounting drinks even though it is stated on the government website, only food. When I questioned them further as it looked like I was charged almost £15 for 3 small diet cokes and a fruit shoot, in a polite manner I may add, they told me to never go back to their restaurant again. Definitely not a way to treat customers during the current climate. Also have to add that it was very busy in the restaurant which made me feel quite uncomfortable during the current pandemic.

One of the best restaurants I have ever dined at! Food is excellent, service is the best and waiting time between courses is minimal You get a personal waiter to look after your needs through your visit and will tailor you meal to your taste Portions are big and you will always come out stuffed!

Back to India lounge...fantastic service as usual.... Jay again was fab with his choice of food, we cannot fault it or any of the food, his banter was ace and he was very friendly and chatty just what you want... deffo recommend and deffo look forward to our next time here.

Birthday time but ANY excuse to visit our favourite Indian restaurant. Always guaranteed great food in a buzzing atmosphere. Staff are extremely helpful choosing your dish to suit your taste. Always great to see Jay and Zack for a bit of banter!

Ordered a large takeaway for our anniversary meal, it arrived on time hot and fresh. Superbly cooked and as good as served in the restaurant which we unfortunately could not attend. Staff there are superb even fine tweeking the meal to suit your pallet.

First time back after the lockdown and again we cannot fault it! Food was perfect and it was lovely to see and speak to Jay and Zak friendly and very welcoming.

Our normal visit to India lounge every Wednesday has not been possible,so we have been having takeaways,and the food has been absolutely fantastic,well done guys can’t wait for hopefully July 4th and enjoy you’re fabulous hospitality and food,Thanks for looking after us and all you’re customers during this difficult period.see you soon

Well what can I say, been missing eating out at my favourite restaurant ever, and when I found out Zac was opening back up, it made my day. The food was superb, lamb tikka, chicken tikka, Bombay aloo, onion bhajis, garlic nan, the best madras sauce in the world and more. Cannot give these guys enough praise to be able to produce such tasty and fab food... See you guys next week. Stay Safe and Thankyou xx

Really missed the fantastic hospitality and of course the first class food since India lounge closed due to the dreaded Coronavirus,Omg just got back with takeaway,absolutely wonderful food, great to see the guys and can’t wait for next weeks fix.Well done India lounge,simply the best

Where do I start .. What a fantastic restaurant the India Lounge is. The food is 5* . Staff 5*. Garlic Chilli Masala is wonderful, Lamb and Chicken Tikka is so tasty and the onion bhajis are mmm.. Love this restaurant!! Zac and all the staff are so welcoming and friendly... Would highly recommend this restaurant. Best Indian Restaurant around !! x

Haven’t been for a while but the welcome I received was was really lovely .the owner Zack and his team never fail to impress they look after your every need and the food is absolutely the best , this is the best Indian restaurant in Wigan I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. My cousin London has her own pr business in the restaurant trade for all the top chefs and restaurants there , next time she comes to visit I will insist she comes to the India lounge I know she’ll love it ! 5 star food 5 star service

The chicken was chewy and hard in both the masala and garlic chicken dishes. I usually pick here to go but I won't again as I was let down with the chicken

Been out to eat today here at India Lounge foot was great as always and the service also. And Jay the waiter was Brill as usual. But he is single and so needs a girlfriend so girls come and make his valentine's.

Me and my wife go to India lounge every week,and have been doing so for the last 8 years,we like all customers are treated like family by zac and his wonderful staff,food is absolutely first class,we have had a local Wigan business for over 30 years and had customers from all over the uk absolutely rave on about the fantastic food and service,all I can say guys is well done,❤️

The building looks like it’s ready for to be demolished and the food is definitely not up to scratch. Avoid like the plague

I made a take away order. The restaurant forgot one of our starters. My friend which missed out was not impressed. The curry was watery and my friend had an upset stomach next day. I was recommended this place by my work colleague . First and last visit.

We travelled from barrow in furness again this ny eve this is our 3rd visit and again it was a brilliant night .all the staff were very good and the atmosphere was just brilliant .The food was divine.We couldnt fault anything we will be back again asap .

Hadn’t been for a while, not for any reason just we try different restaurants, had forgotten just how amazing their food really is from starters to main coarse we both had a very enjoyable meal in a lovely atmosphere, with lovely staff, keep up the good work guys , we have decided after last night that we will definitely be making regular visits.

Been coming here for years, this place is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to, such a good atmosphere and all the staff are fantastic. We feel a part of the family here having got to know the staff over the years. Great to see Jay return to the place aswell, always makes a massive effort with everyone and is really passionate about the way he goes about his job. The whole place is a real credit to Zach who is brilliant with everyone, and a special mention to the chefs too.

Visited last night with wife for our weekly treat to India lounge ,place was very busy with Christmas parties but service was absolutely amazing, great to see Jay back,Zac and the rest of his team Nauru Shaf and Waz done a wonderful job the place run like clockwork,how the chefs do it is beyond belief the food like always was absolutely fantastic,been coming here with friends and family for almost 9 years and won’t go anywhere else,keep up the great work guys can’t wait to see you next week.

This has got to be the Indian to visit around the Wigan area .been with friends and ate at the restaurant and also had many takeaways.The management and staff are awesome can’t do enough for you . As for the food it is exceptional with nice selection of drinks behind bar . The restaurant is really nice inside not the best area but u wouldn’t know once your in .keep up the good work guys we will be back soon .

Visited on a busy Saturday night for a family meal. Really warm friendly welcome from the staff! Asked to take a seat whiles they got our table ready drinks brought to us really quickly whilst we waited. Taken to our table and given the menu wide choice of dishes. The food was amazing. Best Indian we’ve had in a long time. Unfortunately we are not local other wise we would be visiting a lot. The staff made our night even more enjoyable making lots of jokes without being rude such a lovely bunch of people with great sense of humour. Highly recommended

Just been India lounge for food with my family and it was absolutely amazing great service from excellent staff and food was divine. Will be coming back again very soon. They even came out and sang happy birthday with a a cake sparkler and candle and shot. Thanks guys!! Great end to my birthday

This place is the best around the staff are top class and Zak will go the extra mile to cater for your taste and type of curry by added spices to dishes etc, The food is 10/10, been loads of times in small groups and big groups and the standard never drops. The service is spot on and the staff always make effort to chat and have a laugh.

A bit out of the way and a bit of a walk from the Wigan town centre (through a less than salubrious area), but well worth the effort. Great restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff/owners and good prices for great food.

The staff treat you like family. The food is really tasty. In our last visit we heard how peshawari can be eaten as a pudding. The staff remembered us, so treated us to what will now be part of our curry night going forward.

This really was the beat Indian food I have had, a stunning meal. The service was quick and the banter from the staff was just right. We will be back!

This place is just outstanding for Indian food... had a fantastic meal, that was perfectly cooked, just the right amount of spice too. I would recommend to anyone! Really reasonably priced too... just wonderful

Went out with the girls from work to celebrate a retirement , we had a lovely meal ,the staff are lovely nice atmosphere nothing too much trouble , it is also licensed although drinks a little expensive .

Can not fault the food . However the service was very poor and one of the staff was very rude with customers, not just us but with others whom where in the restaurant, some people left they waited that long for their food.

We were only told how good this place was a couple of weeks ago, but we know can't get enough of the place. The service,food everything is the best. Only thing I can be really critical of is the Nan

I don’t normally eat Indian as I thought I didn’t like it but boy how wrong I was. The food here is fantastic 5 star the staff are so helpful and can’t do enough for you. Very good atmosphere all round will certainly be going back.

We have been eating at the India Lounge in Scholes for many years and love visiting. The combination of great tasting, good quality food, a relaxed and modern decor and vibe and exceptional customer service make this our favourite in the area by a long way. Zac and his team go over and above to make each visit special, whether a quick late night snack or a full on Friday night date night. We have not had a single bad meal and no complaints and everything is really good value for money. They know our regular tipple and have it ready for us when we walk in, you can't get better than that!

Me and my wife have been going to India lounge at least once a week also at times with the rest of family for almost 8 years,the food service and ambience is always first class,zac and his team always have time for regular and new-customers alike,it is wonderful to see zac and his staff talking new customers through the menu to get the best out of their visit.

Fabulous food with balanced spicing, tender meats and glorious naans. Extremely friendly and efficient. Look out for gods and mirrors.

What can I say 4 people having starters and mains and the food was fantastic! The waiters are friendly and service was brilliant. We will be back!

Remember that saying "Don't judge a book by its cover"? Do NOT be put off by the exterior appearance of the building, this is a hidden gem.

We stayed in Wigan for a gymnastics competition at the nearby Premier Inn and wanted a local curry house to take the family. The India lounge was amazing. The service was about the best I’ve experienced, friendly, attentive and great humour and charm.

Here on a work trip, with the other half in tow, got recommended here by the hotel we stayed at.

Visited here the evening before Wigan v Norwich.

Visited here mid week on a business trip, didn’t book just walked in. The place was bustling with locals which is always a good sign especially mid week.

We love coming here can't thank the staff enough for the patience help and great service we always get when coming here. Food as always was great and we all had too many different dishes too mention, no complaints from any of us we all enjoyed every dish. This visit was a double birthday celebration that has given us some great family memories to treasure thanks to all the staff at India Lounge.

Down from Dundee visiting friends. Used trip advisor to help us decide where to eat and the India Lounge came out on top. We were not disappointed. Food was absolutely fantastic and the service was very attentive. Got to give a special mention to Jay who excelled in his service . The restaurant is only a ten minute walk from the town centre and well worth leaving the centre to eat here.

Watched England then went for a meal excellent food as always Zak and the boys loooked after us we came out with the cleaners as usual

Best welcome by Zac and all his staff , the menus excellent any questions answered with attention to detail, everything is fresh quality dishes tender meats awesome food, totally relaxed atmosphere with excellent choice of beers spirits and wines.

Driven past this restuarant hundreds of times and thought 'must try there sometime'. Finally got round to it and I'm so disappointed ..... that I haven't been there before! Outside of Glasgow it's the best Indian food I've had, it would even make the top 3 up in Jockland!

Visited here after recommendation on trip advisor, its one iof the best Indian meals that we have ever had. My husband had the lamb tikka and I had the chicken tikka dupiasa both were really tasty and well cooked. Restaurant was really busy which was a good sign. The whole meal with. Rice, naan, Bombay Aloo and two Cobras each was only £30, a real bargain. Would definitely recommend
