I couldn't fault this place. The food was incredibly tasty, and the curries had such unique flavours. Great service, I would absolutely recommend!

Shiya has been very cordial, polite and sweet in her demeanor towards us. She served the food with grace. The biriyani we ordered was great and really delectable.

After a long walk exploring Edinburgh, India Kitchen was the perfect restaurant to finish our day with. It was quiet inside and nice to relax after a long day and enjoy the warm, delicious food! The service was quick and the staff (Shiya) were welcoming and helpful. Brilliant food for any adventurer with plenty of options

Called in here whilst exploring Edinburgh. I don't think the lager was Kingfisher as it didn't taste right. The food was mediocre, reminded me of an curry you get from Tesco! It was edible and tasted ok but it's not what I would expect from an Indian restaurant. We wouldn't return.

It was my last day in Edinburgh yesterday and during my whole visit, there was a problem with good Indian food all over. But I think I found a great restaurant. The food was good, the service was great, specially by the girl named Shiya. She assisted us very kindly and took great care of us during the course with smile on her face. Highly recommended.

We experienced this restaurant as a Rip Off as group, Only Menu board displayed just outside on High street was facinating, Tried different Dishes & drinks from Menu, Food was just a compromise to kill hunger, Quality & Quantity both were missing,, Unprofessional crafty bar staff, Portions were very small without REAL Indian Cooking Taste & speciality, NOT A RESTAURANT STYLE CLASS At All In such a Touristic place !?

Horrible horrible service. Super slow service and one of the waiters (girl in specs) who was serving us really looked like she was going through something because she was just very rude and irritable. We changed the number of breads mid order and she let out such a big sigh as if we had wasted her precious time. Management should really look into the behaviour of the staff as I can see multiple reviews below commenting on the service. Also, food is very okayish, almost bland even after mentioning it twice to make it spicy. We are here since a week and tried a few other Indian restaurants which are much much better. Very sad to have faced such an experience on our last day in Edinburgh.

I visited the restaurant on a busy weekend night and I’m glad we made a reservation in advance. The food was exceptional. Despite the weekend rush, the staff was friendly and attentive. Staff Mounica and Sohail checked in regularly and even recommended some great dishes. The food, ambience and service was top-notch.

I am from Texas. In town and craving Indian food. This restaurant did not disappoint! Shiya was an excellent server!! She made my experience incredible. She recommended a dish I was not familiar with chicken achari. She helped me pair a wine and was very knowledgeable and friendly. The meal tasted wonderfully.

The food was very nice. Although very tight with the dips portions for the poppadoms. Every Indian in the past I’ve been to there’s always some left over, I was scraping for it. There was a group of 3 of us, we were shown a nice lovely table. We made our order and then got told to ‘shift’ to another table which was closer to the door so colder. I wasn’t impressed with the customer service. It’s bad enough been asked to move tables but to be asked in a not so polite manner made my mood even worse. I came in happy looking forward to the Indian and left feeling very underwhelmed. Mainly down to the poor customer service skills.

They can get away with those prices (for barely-meets-expectations food) because of their incredible location. Yeah, they have their lease to pay, but holy shirt, people: why give me six tiny cubes of chicken drowned in a whole tin of coconut milk??? And I know Tesco curry powder when I taste it — it clearly came from South Bridge, not Surat. Would *ten tiny chicken chunks have killed your profit margin? I think not. My wife — a courageous, well-travelled foodie — couldn’t choke down a veggie curry that should’ve come with a warning label; it was like chickpeas in battery acid. I’m tempted to commence a chargeback. Zero stars.

They got very poor and very bad Services. I found hair in my curry and I asked to change a then she took and 15 minutes to bring out the next curry and and my Nan got cold until that, and after that I ordered biryani in menu it was mentioned that biryani will come with Raita , but she won’t given me Raita and later on when I asked for the seller or something with biryani so she gave me salad and for that she charged me £7 😡literally it’s ridiculous and when I ask her to take it out from the bill like how u can charge for the raita you mentioned in the menu that will provide biryani with Raita. It’s so ridiculous. I never visit again.

Great food and atmosphere and service from Shiya

Visited Edinburgh Castle and on the way back we stopped for some lunch, have to say it was one of the best Indians we have had, I had my 2 daughters with me & they had chicken korma on the kids menu and have to say not only was it delicious, the portion size was very generous. Shiya was our waitress and she was excellent. We will be back and would highly recommend.

Our experience at India Kitchen was way beyond exceptional! The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of, despite a busy-paced environment. The food was truly outstanding! Every dish was packed with rich, authentic flavours, and the spices were perfectly balanced. I especially loved the mix of vegetable biryani and yoghurt bombs, which was cooked to perfection. The naan was fresh and fluffy, and the desserts were a perfect way to end the meal. I recently visited this restaurant for a dinner. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, perfectly balanced with spices, and garlic naan was soft and fresh making it the perfect companion to the gravy. The staff named Mounica was warm and welcoming. The service was prompt, and despite a busy evening, we never felt neglected

It was very good! very hearty and very spicy! Sensitive palates… Refrain. With my husband Joël, we decided to broaden our horizons and travel for a short evening during our retirement trip to Edinburgh. It’s a successful challenge as the place transports us directly to the heart of New Delhi. A little thought to René and Didi, who have been there for 6 years now. This restaurant has nothing to envy them. Which is not the case for the Turkish restaurant that we tried this lunchtime. Dishes as expensive as they are bad, extra hair in the soup. Anyway, I'm spreading myself out a little too much. Let's get back to the basics, after a visit to St Giles Cathedral, it's good to get together around a Cheese naan! And as they also say, Enjoy your meal 🍽️

Honestly, I wish I could give this place zero stars. The food was disgusting and made me question whether the chef even knows how to cook. I left feeling nauseous and regretful for even stepping through the door. Most importantly i was having stomach ache at the spot and the staffs along with manager were horrible as we wanted to speak about it the staff was adamant that their manager wasn’t around and they didnt have the courtesy to apologise. Never coming back to this place ever again and would not suggest anyone as well. Their food quality doesn’t meet their standards and also nor the price was according to the standard of the food they serve.
