I'm from Parma and eating here simply brings you back home. I saw the staff preparing the fresh pasta downstairs and this is clearly reflected in the quality of food, which is outstanding. I strongly recommend the anolini, they are unique and they taste like ones made by every North Emilian grandma!! Good selection of our wonderful cured meats, ranging from pancetta and coppa piacentina to the world famous Parma ham The lambrusco served in ceramic bowls is the definitive signature of authenticity ;)

This restaurant is lovely and the food was delicious. We had the tasting menu which included the perfect amount of food, at a really reasonable price. However- the service was not great. We were only given 2 hours for a table of 12, and were rushed out when we hadn’t finished our drinks yet. As paying customers, it’s not our fault if you book tables too soon after each other. The waiter wasn’t flexible around payments for the group, and made us feel like we were being difficult. It was a shame as the overall experience was lovely, and other staff members were lovely and professional.

Dishes are small so we were advised to get few to share. We got 5 to share between 3 and it was plentiful. Two options for dessert, we had Tiramisu and we were not disappointed. Service was friendly and attentive. We have also tried the local sparkling red wine which was interesting. Small restaurant and tables are quite close together. This was not a problem for us. Given that I am from Parma and therefore I know a little about the typical dishes of my city.... I would have pushed more on Parmigianita', avoiding contamination with other typical Italian products but which really have nothing to share with Parma. For Parma purists, just seeing the Bolognese sauce is a small sacrilege. But I understand the commercial choice of having to satisfy Londoners and their idea of Italian dishes in general. I repeat, I would have expected a more typically Parmesan menu as befits any trattoria in our city. However, I give 5 stars because the local dishes are well made. Mine just wants to be a starting point for a further leap in quality.

It is clear that the place is facing difficulties as today we were basically the only customers for lunch. We have been before and is substantially worse than last time (circa a year ago) and completely a different place compared to few years ago. Today: - staff doesn’t speak Italian, they took ages to get our order because they were playing in the inside of the empty restaurant with their phone. Also the staff is probably the kind of server you can pay the minimum as they were clearly not professional or capable - focaccia (3£) was terrible and very old (probably few days old) - burrata (7£) was very cold and tasteless and super small - pasta (10 -12£ per portio) was probably 40grams of pasta. The taleggio pasta was tasteless, the bolognese was acceptable - meat plate. Only thing actually pretty ok, they have decent meat. - they managed to mess up even the water that they served warm on a pretty hot day. I feel that the owner gave up on the restaurant (maybe via Emilia is doing ok?) is very far from the old glory of the place and I speculate the place is going to close at some point. All in all very disappointing experience, mediocre and overpriced food most of which tasted old and taken out from the fridge. This is definitely the last time that we go - avoid

We came here upon recommendation from a friend. The menu looked promising and the restaurant is in a good location. We ordered the focaccia and bread and burrata to start. However, the focaccia was stale and the other bread seemed to be Sainsbury’s tiger bread. We ordered three pasta dishes. The pomodoro and pesto pasta were just fine. The ravioli was not good. I don’t eat meat, so didn’t try any of the meat dishes, and therefore can’t comment on those. The Lambrusco was good and we enjoyed the bowls it was served in. I’ve been to many great authentic pasta restaurants in London, and unfortunately would not recommend this one if you’re a big pasta fan. It’s a shame as we really wanted to enjoy this place.

We made a special trip to this restaurant after it was featured on the London episode of Searching for Italy with Stanley Tucci. It is a tiny restaurant, and the food is made to order, therefore food service is a bit slow especially if you have a large party as we had. However, our waitress was so friendly and attentive and the lovely lambrusco served in ceramic bowls allowed us to linger over our delicious cured meats and cheeses while we waited for the pasta to arrive. The pasta is freshly made (you could see it being churned out in the kitchen downstairs) and the portions intentionally small so you can try more than one. We went as a large extended family, but the restaurant seems ideal for an intimate dinner for two, especially since the portion size and prices made it feel like more of a splurge.

Pasta was very good but serving size would be appropriate to satiate a toddler. They suggest 3 dishes for 2 people but more like 3 dishes for one person. Very pricey considering you're paying for 30g of flour, water and salt- even if it's handmade that's really all there is to pasta. Bolognese dish was speckled with meat, we could barely see or taste the beef. Left the restaurant hungry and had to buy something else to eat as we hadn't planned on a +100€ casual lunch. Recommended only if you're going for an apéro but not for an actual meal.

Distinctly mixed. Ordered mortadella as a starter, thinking it would come with bread or something. When it didn’t, I thought OK, odd but fair enough, so I asked for some. Rather surprising answer: the last portion has just gone (this was 8pm on a Tuesday, with the restaurant still filling up with people). We make it on the premises and the next batch won’t be ready for two hours! Me: no bread in a restaurant, that’s crazy. Her: I know!! All very breezy, let’s all share the joke. No apology. Verdict on that: Not good enough! Bread is basic, not a signature dish (though of course it’s great to have a special one as an option- it needs to be available at all times in some form). Main was tasty and well-presented however, and staff were very friendly when approached, even if not all that attentive even when place was pretty empty. Think there was some training going on, which was good to see. But the response I got about the bread was from the trainer, not the trainee!

Food was average, pasta was very salty. Biggest let down by this restaurant was being told the moment that we sat down (in an empty restaurant) that we had to leave our table in less than 1.5 hours. To which we were reminded of this seven further times during our meal. We weren’t quite sure whether they even wanted our custom? Then 20 minutes before we “had” to leave, we were reminded again (at this point there were only 6 seated guests including ourselves in the entire restaurant). The final straw was when they brought the card reader and bill over whilst we were still eating our dessert (again the restaurant was empty bar ourselves and one other table…) Hugely disappointing, especially as we were celebrating a birthday (just two of us). Would not visit again or recommend to others purely based on our customer service experience.

The concept would be good, and it's nice to recreate an experience you'd have in Italy, but many things don't work: you should include bread with your boards and not let the customer pay 2.5£ for a small bowl of it. Prosciutto and salami are cut so thin that at the end of the day the quantity in the board is not much. Anolini are definitely not worth £14, the broth is just okay but I had much much better cappone stock in Italy. Also, grated parmigiano should be placed for the table, to add to the dishes. The Tiramisu is instead a mascarpone custard with a thin layer of biscuit, there is no coffee flavour in it. That's a pity overall.

Great authentic food, just very cramped with tables and a bit claustrophobic

Overpriced, small plates served "when they're ready". This was such a rip off. Nice staff, but a complete tourist rip-off. Avoid!
