Food was good, service not so great which is why we chose not to pay the full service charge they had already added to the bill! My daughter was our taxi driver for the evening and as there was a small portion left we thought it might be nice for her to have a little treat once she had dropped everyone off but we were refused a takeaway box which is the first time I have been anywhere that does that! Apparently prefer to throw it in the bin! Won’t be going back as staff were not very pleasant

This restaurant owner needs to seriously think about how they treat their customers. It was 12.30pm when we started walking through the door. He immediately said to us you will need to leave at 2pm. Not a hello or how many of you. Just that. Put our back up to start. We had two babies in highchair. One is 1 and the other is 2. The waiter was extremely apologetic and said he was very sorry but he was told to tell us the babies would need to pay full price for an adult meal. No child meals available. They probably ate 6 chips between them. We was charged £15 for one portion of chicken balls and one chips. Which they didn’t eat. Then the waiter again apologised and pointed out on the menu a compulsory 10 percent service charge. We pointed out that it’s illegal to make a service charge compulsory but was told we had to pay it. There was no disabled toilet. There was a huge staircase to the toilets. Totally unsuitable for disabled or elderly people who can’t do stairs. On the positive side the food was very good. However due to the rude owner and the service charge we won’t be returning. They had no kids menu or kids drinks. To charge for 2 babies was disgraceful and they should be ashamed. Our bill for 4 adults for lunch was £144. Beware.

Been coming here for the paste 20 years and the food quality and ambience still remained when it was taken over. It was my place to go for a good local Chinese food/night out. However past year i/we havent been impressed with either take away or dine in experience. Today’s visit will be the last one i will experience. Ambience was dead, felt cold inside, they couldn’t cater for vegetable pancakes as the head chef who’s the boss said he won’t make it, their signature chow main noodles (my main reason for going) tasted bland amongst the rest of the dishes. Very disappointed and let down.

The food was fine but the service was terrible. Rude, unfriendly, staff who stood over you and watched you while you were eating, cleared plates before the table was finished and generally seemed to think that they were doing you a favour by serving you. They were completely passive aggressive. We were a large party and the waitress stood directly behind me whilst we sorted out the bill clearly annoyed that we were checking the receipt. I would not visit again.

Do not come here! Service is terrible don’t be fooled for the all you can eat. Went with 8 people and we all feel ill now. Didn’t finish our food was rushed by waiters and not to forget that they was extremely rude. Didn’t want to take service charge off after accusing of stealing food and putting it in my bag.

Polite friendly staff who were on hand if you wanted anything but didn’t pester at all. The food was lovely and good value. We had the all you can eat dinner and would definitely recommend it.

We booked a table for 9 for our son’s 18th birthday . Hadn’t been to this restaurant for a few years and not since they introduced the all you can eat offer. Being able to order exactly what you want from the table and not choose from a pre prepared buffet was amazing. The food was delicious and plentiful as was the service too from delightful and attentive waiting staff who I wish we’d got the names of. Thank you Eastern Oriental for a lovely evening . We shall be back

Lovely food… BUT… Refused to be allowed to take some leftovers home. This was not an untouched dish but a mixture of food, put together that was left over. Told you cannot take food home, and it will be thrown in the bin. Despite us having already paid for said food. 10% service charge automatically added to bill despite terrible service by younger staff. Removing dishes whilst we was eating and even tried to take a plate someone was still eating the last mouthful from. TAX added onto drink?! £22 bottle of wine changes to £24.20, queried and told that’s TAX. Such as shame as food is nice, but the restaurant is a rip off and cons customers. Do not bother attending, save your money and go somewhere else.

After being told food would be ready in 25 minutes, and taking payment. I was then ignored for the next 40 minutes. Total time before food arrived was over an hour from ordering. No appology at all. Restuarant seemd like chaos, Would not ever recomend getting takeaway from this restaurant.

Three of us visited this Chinese restaurant, in Brentwood High Street, on Thursday 26th October. We arrived early evening and although we had not booked we were show to a table immediately. We opted for the fixed price buffet menu - and at £23.90 this was great value. We were served by 2 very pleasant and helpful waitresses, and at their suggestion we began with a mixed plate shared starter. All our food was cooked to order and was delightful. Friendly service and good value.

Don’t get me wrong I cannot fault the food! However the service in this place is unbelievable, taking plates away when we’re still eating, rudely spoken, constantly hovering around our table, felt like we was rushed! As soon as we sat at our table we felt rushed and as if they wanted us to leave, it wasn’t busy at all in fact there was 2 tables!! Don’t waste your time going in, get a takeaway.

We visited here last night for some decent Chinese food and we wasn’t disappointed,staff really friendly and do not rush you in and out,everything we ordered was really good and the have over 120 dishes on the menu which you can choose from,it’s all cooked fresh and not sitting on hot plates for all and sundry to dig at,toilets were spotless which is always a good sign,food was plenty enough what we ordered and will be visiting,not again in the not too distant future,not the cheapest but really good value for money

I booked at table with my elderly, disabled parents on night of 20/08/23. My father is 84 and registered disabled. When we arrived, to our shock and dismay, the waitress ushered us up a 10-12 inch high step (see photos below). Due to his disability and age my father was unable to negotiate this. He has serious issues with his leg arteries. The drop down from this step could have proved fatal for him. Having informed the restaurant that my parents were disabled, we pointed out to them that my father was unable to climb up and down this step. The staff were completely unmoved. We asked if they had a ramp, to which they replied they did not have one. A male waiter was very unsympathetic and downright rude and arrogant. We were about to walk out when a female waitress ushered us to a table which was on one level. She had initiative. Her male colleague had none, coming across as thick as two planks. This restaurant's staff seemed completely oblivious to the law on making services accessible to disabled people. The Equality Act 2010 defines Disability and Age as Protected Characteristics. It states businesses providing services to the public are legally required to make adaptations for disabled people. This restaurant is failing to comply with this legal requirement. Why do they think they can flout Equality law? We are seriously considering reporting this lack of adaptations to the Local Authority and HSE in the interest of disabled people. The standard of service thereafter was absolutely rubbish. The staff lack friendliness, courtesy and are arrogant. The only good thing to say is that the food was good. Everything else about this restaurant was rotten. We will not be dining here again due to this bad experience. I would advise disabled people to avoid this resturant as, to it shame, it does not comply with the law on making adaptations for the disabled.

I’ve been here before and think best time to go is early evening as we did 6pm and weekdays. The food was freshly cooked, service amazing and everything was incredibly delicious. I do think it makes a difference going at off peak times. The bill was reasonable as we didn’t have alcohol

This is a great restaurant for a wonderful choice of a meal. We went on 01.08.23for my birthday. You pay one price each person and choose whatever you fancy from the extensive menue. Great value, great food, great service and service charge included in the bill - what more would you want?

Our visit to Eastern Oriental wasn’t good at all, despite having a good experience in the past. Firstly, a waitress asked us what we wanted for starters, we ordered, and then 3 times a different members of staff asked us if we have ordered. This was strange in itself. Our starters were nice, however, the mains was where it got bad. When we cut into the chicken (chicken curry), the chicken was raw inside (see picture). Obviously, we sent this back and complained that this was not cooked. The waiter sent it to the chef and the chef said that the chicken was cooked and sent it back out to us!!! We were not happy at all, I went back at the waiter and said that we were not happy as it wasn’t cooked, but he just ignored me and didn’t do anything about it. The customer service during our visit was awful. To top it off, we found out a week later that 3 people got food positioning from here around the time that we visited!! There is clearly something wrong, and is putting people’s health at risk.

First time at this restaurant, Parking is opposite the restaurant so if you go after 7pm its cheaper. I like the idea that you order your food and they cook to order so its fresh and hot. Something others have brought up in reviews is the website and takeaway menus are out of date so everything cost more than they advertise, all you can eat is now £24.99, take note to the restaurant update your prices on the website before you put up the prices, having said that i don't think they look at there reviews as no one reply's. The food we had was very tasty and of good quality. They also offer a Ala-cart menu as well but cannot comment on this but it seems pretty much the same. Personally i cannot eat £25 worth of Chinese food so its slightly on the dear side. if you get a table near front of house it gets very busy with other people picking up there takeaway so its very noisy and not private, but i would recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Ordered a takeaway from here on 9th January 2023 from their website which cost £56.20 (accordingly to their website). When my daughter collected the takeaway, she paid £67.60. £11.40 more. A menu was enclosed with the takeaway when she arrived home which also said the bill should have been £56.20. I visited the restaurant and spoke with a chef as the manager wasn't there. I explained what had happened, being an £11.40 overcharge. He called the manager who said their website and leaflets were out of date, and that they had had a price increase. I explained they should not be charging more than what is on their website and in their menus. I left my number for the manager to call me back. When he did, he denied the website was not up to date and that their menus were out of date and that he thinks I must have looked at a different website and had an old menu in my cupboard! The manager also said he didn't know who I had spoken to at the restaurant, but I only left my name and number with the chef he had spoken to! If I'd found an old menu in my cupboard, or the website had been up to date when I used it, I would readily accept his position, however, why would I waste my time complaining for £11??? I'm baffled by this, someone has got something wrong somewhere, and it certainly isn't me. So check your bills!

Went here last night for the first time - there was 10 adults and 2 children. Food was absolutely fab, delicious and cooked fresh. Great choice of starters and mains. Service was really good We would highly recommend and we will go back

Didnt notice this was up for review until Trip Advisor flashed the name up! All I can say in proper Chineese style (friend of mine went to china and said 90% of resteraunt staff there look like their mums have just died) the staff were very unhappy looking! But food was lovely so just ignore them!

For many years this was my go to takeaway, never an issue. The last 3 orders have been horrific and I now will never return (found out it is since new owners). My meals have been un edible. The “chicken” in the main dishes is the consistency of a gelatin like spongey watery foam. This has been the same on 3 orders months apart. There is no way this is chicken or 100% chicken, got told by health inspectors they suspect paste imitation chicken stuff. Everyone the whole meal has had to be thrown out because this is so disgusting its made us all feel unwell. They also stopped giving out prawn crackers and the delivery is way behind the time given.

first time I have ordered this takeaway the food was absolutely tasty and a good size portion, and arrived on time , they didn't send the pancakes to go with the crispy duck, when I called them they sent them straight out, thank you would highly recommend this takeaway
