We had a fantastic dining experience at the Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that left us satisfied. We especially loved the crispy barbecue pork, it was cooked to perfection and had an amazing flavor! Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Hong Kong cuisine! 極力推薦

Me and my wife had are fist visit yesterday !!! We where very impressed !! The food was excellent the portions size was good 👍 I'm a pig so we had 4 starters 😋 !! The staff are very friendly and respectful !! Will definitely be looking forward to going again !! We got very good value for money !! As a foodie i can highly recommend !! . I just want to thank the excellent staff for there service !! Please keep up the high standards !!!

Service was very good, the staff member who served us was fluent in English and Cantonese. The food wasn’t too great in comparison to other Chinese restaurants I have eaten at. The atmosphere is very good with bright lights and original decorations. Also, there is free WiFi which is good :))

We went for a family dinner. We really enjoyed the food; delicious dishes and great choice. Spring rolls seemed very fresh and food was not too sweet or salty. My only recommendation would be turn up the heating (I was a bit cold!) and turn down the lights to make the atmosphere a bit more cozy.

After the first visit, we’ve been back several times (and there will be more in the future for sure) and every single time, we are impressed, satisfied and happy with the food. We diversify the dishes: noodles, BBQ meat, rice dishes. Everything is huge and tasty. ————————— Previous comment: We had dim sum as dinner there. The quality differs immensely from dish to dish. The turnip cake was fantastic, seriously! And it arrived first so we expected that the following dishes would be the same, but sadly they weren’t. I think the steamed dishes were ok, but the deep fried dumplings were too small. The worst was the rib. It took so long to arrive that we had to ask if they forgot it. When it arrived, we knew immediately that it was frozen and thawed. It smelled bad too. Don’t order this one.

The store clerk is very considerate. When he sees a 3-4 year old child, he will ask if he wants to prepare a children's dining chair? Or help stack two chairs? As soon as you sit down, the clerk will ask if you want tea? Really authentic. The meals are all delicious, and the meat is tasty without any meaty smell.

We have attentive staff who can speak Japanese! You can bring your own alcohol and they even provide glasses!

Well it was closed on Thursday but we popped in this afternoon. Amazing food, we had the set banquet for 2 and had to have a doggie bag, there was so much food. Will deffo be going back, food and service were great.

I tried their meal for the first time. The dim sum and noodles were rather delicious. However, the first staff member we encountered was a bit aloof. If I were alone or with my visitors, I'd probably walk away. I'm sure it doesn't cost anything to smile or be pleasant, especially since the customers are paying his wages. The staff who served us was helpful. Thankfully that served my rating on them.

We walked in and one of their waitress asked us to come back in 15-20mins because it was full. We made a reservation and she said she will give us a call while we wait in the bar next door - we were starving at this point but wanted to have food from this place so took the risk! And we did not get any call about 20mins later (2050). So we went back again and they told us that the kitchen was closed?!

Decent authentic food, especially the dim sum. Good service, price is relatively reasonable. Good location right in the middle of the city centre

Wise choice for Cantonese cuisine.Really recommend yum tum noodles,for two people that is enough,and every yum tum has fresh prawns inside.

Friendly service, prompt resolution of a missing dish. The roast duck was unfortunately dry. Overall, the experience at Imperial Leicester was positive thanks to the friendly service. However, the dry roast duck was a bit of a letdown.

Don’t order from this restaurant! False advertisement! 滑雞=炸雞? Menu Chinese version - 北菇滑雞煲 Menu English translation - mushrooms smooth chicken But in fact, This is a fried chicken rather than smooth chicken. This chef doesn’t know how to cook

Based on our visit, impromptu visit on a random weekend. All good was really good, loved the Dim Sum and the pork, rice and noodles were first class. I can only review on our visit and that was excellent with attentive service. Some other reviews have a different opinion but our experience was great. The tables are a little squashed in and close together but not so much it's a problem Overall great food and good service.

Authentic Hong Kong dim sums are the most enjoyable. And don't forget to order one or two stir fried mains.

Best place in Leicester for dim sum! Been several times and it doesn’t disappoint, highly recommend the egg custards and char siu pastries. Their regular menu is also very good. I’ve enjoyed the noodle and rice dishes and more recently tried pork ribs with rice which was delicious.

Regularly drop in as this is our favourite place for Dim Sum. The staff are always friendly and we always have the pork bao buns as they are delicious.

Went for Dim Sum mainly with some Main dishes afterwards but surprised to receive the latter first 🙈

Strange place, The waitress and the lady that came to shred the duck were lovely, as was the duck. The table next to us highlighted there was very little chicken in their chicken curry, far outweighed by mushrooms so they returned the half eaten curry to the kitchen and they took it from their bill. I asked for a chicken curry as long as i didnt have the same but was told theyre pre portioned so I ruled out curries all together. We were explained about platters incorrectly and they charged us for 2. The starter chicken skewer was tough so didnt eat it. We had put the left overs in a doggy bag and over the dispute of the 2 platters we had to give the dogs leftover food back to have a platter removed from the bill.

I want to keep this place secret, it is so good! The food is excellent. We've travelled all over trying different Dim Sum and genuinely I don't think we've had better than here. Strongly recommended!

In my first time experience, the service was very good, and at least we had no waiting for a long time to get a table because we did not make a reservation in advance situation. All dim sum we ordered that's delicious. But this restaurant is not too much space between table

Classic Hong Kong style dim sums

Absolutely delicious. Had the satay skewers to start and cantonese beef for main and couldn't fault anything. One of the best, succulent Chinese meals i’ve had in a long time, would 100% recommend.

Was a single diner that went in at 8.10pm. Ordered a Hot & Sour soup starter, 2 main dishes and egg fried rice.Was told Chef finishes at 9.00 so everything will have to come out at same time? Eating soup whilst my mains going cold in front of me on table….family of four come in at 8.45 got served no problem. Poor service if not bordering on racism?

We wanted dimsum and this place popped up on google as top rated so we booked a table. The place wasnt really nice but that didnt bother us as long as food is good. The steamed dim sum was ok but not up to london standard. The deep-fried squid was greasy chewy with batter coming off not crispy and tender like what we normally get! The egg tarts were over baked. The cheung funs wasnt great. Roast pork cheung fun was quite stiff (batter too thick) and the roast pork was very garlicky and hard and fatty, also they had herbs in which we werent use to. The dough in the crispy dough cheung fun wasnt crispy. The plain cheung fun was too big, we prefer the mini ones. The crispy savoury meat croquettes was served cut in half which i have never seen and didnt like. The taste wasnt great, very strong overpowering 5 spice flavour. The worst dish was beef hofun. We noticed it was a little pale when it arrived but it also tasted pale and bland! I think the chef forgot to season it and the beef was under seasoned and tough. We told the waitress that it was bland and if we could have some soy sauce she didnt apologise or asked questions and just gave us the sauce. Even after loads of soy it still tasted bland just salty! (The pic i uploaded was after soy sauce) The best part was their roast meats. The pork was very nice, crispy and good flavour. Duck was good too. the portion was a bit small though.

簡單裝修後已加價了2次，但最近大部份點心都減少了份量連茶葉也少了淡如開水。不是待客之道，味道還是可以的。

My absolute favourite place to have dim sum! I come here quite often, I absolutely recommend this place. The food is brilliant and the service is quite good too.

在門口已經發現店內全是香港人 相信味道都應該相當地道 點心水準很不錯 特別是蝦餃 餃皮很薄 口感極佳 算是英國吃點心以來最好的一間 牛百葉口感都不錯 不會太咸 味道適中 牛肉球明顯是偏向「實淨」取向 不像一般的鬆軟 好不好看你的個人喜好 火鴨絲炒米不過不失 看別枱點的乾炒牛河樣子不錯 下次來一定會試試! 整體而言性價比高 無論一家人或者兩個人住附近都值得間中來一次!

Resturant closed more than they open... Always shut when l turn up... Old owner open 7 days a week.

After the change of management it was generally good. We checked with the waiter to see if the food was ready and if we could cancel it because we had waited for a long time. after 15-20 minutes had not one respond…? so we just ready to paid and leave, but then the cashier immediately said that the food was already served! …!? We were so frustrated because we had told them about the cancellation but they hadn't! In the end we had to pay and take away! I hope the management can allocate the efficiency properly! Service was ok. Food took a bit of time to come out. In general the food was ok but the not great, maybe even pushing below average, and also small portions but the har gow (prawn dumplings) are the best i've had in a long time.

There was a hair in the dim sum and the waitress just changed without asking. They still charged in the bill and said we asked them to change one. That’s really uncomfortable because we already acted half of the dim sum. We insist cancel the one in the bill. Not spending extra fees but uncomfortable experience.

The price is reasonable and I recommend going to there at non-busy times if possible due to the amount of noise when it is busy. However, it has a second floor and the building is small. The second floor is not busy at all.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here. The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly. We’ll definitely be going back. It’s casual dining, for couples, friends and families. Our focus was to have a traditional/typical Chinese dining experience and especially to find delicious dim sum, we were not disappointed! The menu was extensive, so, lots of choice.

This is the first time visit after their name changed. I know this restaurant since 2014. Now everything is changed inside, but the food is still the same. Excellent food and quiet place. Definitely eat again!

This is now called IMPERIAL. Prices are up! The mapo tofu was a bit disappointing. It was very strong on five spice. Still a good restaurant otherwise.

Didn't look like much from the outside..... First thing that crossed my mind but thought I would try it anyway and I'm happy I did. Great staff along with great food makes life a bit easier and this was simple fast and very enjoyable. Very large menu but all cooked amazingly well and I would recommend the crispy pork as a must try

Went in there for late lunch. Had order egg tart, congee, spare ribs rice and a xo sauce fried flat noodles. Hubby normally are less fussy eater but he enjoys it so much. Keep repeating to us how nice and valuable for money. The rest of the family agrees too. We only leaves empty plate like Chinese saying hungry ghost.

Randomly stumbled here as we were hungry and the weather was horrendous. Staff were friendly and service was fast. Surprised us to see they had dim sum, which was incredibly tasty! Even had yu tiao. Ordered a black bean claypot rice dish, could've been more flavourful and had more meat but was still nice, rice was like buttered rice as it soaked in the flavours of the pork ribs.

Listen, these guys charged me £18 for: Sweet & sour chicken and boiled rice Beef in black bean sauce with noodles Tasted rank, chicken was yellow and chewy ( how tf is chicken chewy??) The beef was vile, tasted burnt, cold and the beef definitely wasn't beef. Overpriced, overrated, would not recommend.

Been there for the last five years food was ok cause i was from hongkong knows what is good or bad recently this was the third time had seafood xo sauce stir fry ho fun it was blend all they need was a teaspoon of soy sauce complained to the owner cause it was third time and asked her to try but she insisted it has taste would never go back there i can coik better than them.

Possibly the worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to!!!! My main course didn’t arrive, thankfully, and my vegetarian noodles were only vegetarian because they were only MSG and noodles!!! I’ve had nicer more nutritious pot noodles!!! Very very disappointed

I've been walking past Shanghai Moon for years, finally curiosity got the better of me and I decided to try this restaurant. Safe to say I was not dissapointed. Truly amazing cuisine, with genuinely authentic chinese dishes. With a quiet, intimate setting, my partner and I loved it. Staff were prompt also, serving us drinks and food quickly and efficiently. When dining with a companion, I highly recommend the Shanghai banquet for two, it is three delicious courses of food made for sharing, and a truly wonderful delight for your taste buds.

we ordered seafood meal. really big portions, a lot of seafood with rice, very tasty. but a bit too spicy, such a dish should be served with a delicate sauce
