Imperial Garden in Wiltshire

We order a takeaway for the whole family, having read the latest reviews which were somewhat negative. Having decided to give it a try, our first time of ordering, we have to say that the food was absolutely delicious, every dish was beautifully cooked and very tasty. Also very generous portions of each. We had a splendid evening, made special by your lovely food. Thank you. We will be back.

We ordered a takeaway for 2. Chicken dish and beef dish with some fried rice. The food was almost inedible, swamped in msg/cornflour and very bland and slimy sauces. The 'beef' did not taste like beef and had a very strange processed texture as did the chicken. The vegetables were really overcooked and were also covered in slime. The rice was tasteless and very overcooked. I'm not sure what has happened with the management/chefs here, but this was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. It is a real treat to get a takeaway, when you can cook and eat well at home. Won't make that mistake again.

An unfortunate first visit to the Imperial Garden. We are quite new to Wiltshire, and tried the IG as a change to the Chinese takeaway we have so far used nearer home. We rang to order about 6.15 pm Friday evening, and were given the earliest collection time of 7.30. We arrived 10 min early in (vain) hope, and had to wait 20 min. A further 15 min later we arrived home to find we had been given the wrong order. A further 30 min later (now 8.30), and another trip there and back, we sat down to eat. To give IG credit, they had tried to ring when they realised the mistake, and they did agree to a full refund. No complaints about the food (despite it having sat for 30 min in a ‘warmer’), but not so outstanding that we’d be tempted to go back.

We had a really tasty takeaway from this Chinese whilst on holiday in nearby village. We rang our order through prior to collecting in person as they don't do delivery here. Friendly staff and good sized portions. Chow mein dishes and curry dishes were particularly nice. Thank you Imperial Garden!

Been using this takeaway for a while, always OK. Must have been chef's night off tonight I'm afraid to say. Hopefully a blip.

This is THE BEST CHINESE !!! So sad it’s closed for eating in it was our fav place travelled for dinner to get here!!! PLEASE OPEN AGAIN MISS YOU!!!

Since the Pandemic, they no longer have the restaurant, but they do a takeaway service. Which is a shame!

Always tasty and freshly cooked. Now using cardboard and fully recyclable packaging which I am delighted to see. Well done for caring!

Staying locally in a cottage, most decent local restaurants closed on Tuesday (and Methuen Arms had a leak in the kitchen). Decided to have a takeaway despite mixed reviews. There was plenty of food, we had the mixed starter for 2. The spring rolls were enormous but tasteless, the prawn toast stodgy and bland, the ribs were in a tasteless gravy, not much meat and fatty. For main courses we had Singapore spicy rice, there was loads, but it smelt and tasted of Chinese curry powder. The king po pork was very fatty and greasy, with tasteless veg. The szechuan chicken was, once again very bland, and not much chicken evident. A waste of £40, but it was Chinese New Year today, perhaps the chef was on holiday!

We have had plenty of Asian food over the years, but this will take some beating. We ordered a takeaway very polite staff. The food was ready at the time they said. Short drive back, food was still hot. The taste was so fresh and delicious, the rice was really fluffy. A great meal and if we are in the area we will use it again.

Purchased some sweet and sour chicken, fish in ginger, beef in black bean, sweet corn soup, hot and sour snot soup………. Terrible! Full of gelatine and corn flour. This is the worst food I’ve ever eaten. Contacted Alex the manager to ask what happened ….he told us to go elsewhere 🤬🤔 fantastic. Can’t even finish the leftovers too disgusting. Avoid avoid avoid.

So happy to have found this place, being coeliac I haven’t had Chinese food in years. Very helpful staff, spoke to a lovely woman who even took the time to highlight all the gluten free options on a menu for those in need! So tasty I can’t stop thinking about it haha

I had a takeaway from the Imperial Garden this evening for the first time..it was really lovely. The Egg Fried Rice was fluffy and delicious..the Bang Bang Chicken was incredibly tender and super Hot (spice!) the Crispy chilli Beef was exactly that..crispy! and the Singapore Vermicelli was delicious too..I shall definitely return

Delicious and freshly cooked food, friendly service and very well priced. Highly recommend. The prawn toast is a triumph and the duck in plum sauce was sublime

We love the takeaway from Imperial Garden! Crispy chili beef being one of our favourite dishes... actually crispy & not chewy (like we have found with a few other takeaways in the past)! Definitely would recommend.

I'd been promising myself some Singapore Noodles, but the menu had a couple of options. I called at 1700, not realising that at the moment, take away starts at 1630, so I could have eaten earlier :-)When I 'phoned in to order, I was greeted by a really helpful chap (sorry, didn't get your name), and explained I wasn't sure whether I wanted 'Singapore Chow Mein (Spicy)' or 'Singapore Vermicelli Rice Noodles (Spicy)'. Both dishes contain ham, prawns and roast pork; and apparently, the Vermicelli variant is a hotter dish. This is what I'd been craving, so I placed an order.The order was ready in 10 minutes, and when I arrived, it was reassuring to see Covid measures being practiced.Great meal.Thank you.Chris.

Simply fantastic food! We tried a takeaway two weeks ago and came back again today - we love it!! So much on offer and the customer service is exceptional. Thank you guys for an awesome takeaway!

Had our first meal from Imperial Gardens today - really impressed! Friendly and polite customer service, they were happy to accommodate a change I requested to one of the dishes and food was ready within 20 minutes. The meal itself was great quality, fresh and tasty. We’ll definitely be back again.

Went with friends, my friends are regular visitors but it was my first time. Service was excellent and the food was even better. Definitely won’t be my last visit.

This was our first visit after a recommendation and a walk by some time ago. It certainly won't be our last! Lovely clean decor and tables. Great service from very friendly staff. Superb food that is beautifully served and prepared by the restaurant owner. A really well liked restaurant as it was nearly full whilst we were there. They also cater for large groups too.

Menu is exactly what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant in the UK which is no bad thing. Everything done well.Very clean restaurant (not a sticky menu anywhere). Well presented plenty of space, cosy and homely. Great location with easy parking.Service is very efficient and friendly. Every bit of food cooked perfectly. The crackers were fresh the ribs meaty and succulent. Prawn toast just perfect, not soggy or over cooked. Chow main was delicious and good portion sizes. Price was about what you would expect to pay, not expensive (or cheap) but good value for money. The owners and staff are clearly committed to the business and have real concern for customer experience. Had a lovely time and will go back.

The place had a warm welcoming feeling, the food is amazing and I've never had a meal like it. I came here a few weeks ago with my family and i hope we will come back again soon.

This is our favourite Chinese restaurant. The food and service is always excellent. The freshness of the food and the delicious flavours set this restaurant apart from other restaurants and takeaways.

We had another delicious take-away meal from this restaurant. We ordered the House and chicken Chow Mein. We were given free prawn crackers too. The service was brilliant and I didn't have to wait too long either.

Ok, The only reason I didn't give a solid 5* for this pace was the lighting. It's so bright! Not ideal for a romantic dinner with your significant other! I've moaned about lighting before in other reviews and it really does make a difference to the ambience.The food was excellent though, I had the bang bang beef (very spicy) although it did say hot on the menu. Very nice dish but I was spiced out and had to take the rest home and add a bit of coconut milk the next day. My girlfriend had a duck dish, I can't remember exactly which one but it was juicy medallions of duck. Not the dry shredded duck you often get at Chinese restaurants.Overall very good food, I'd recommend this place.

Ordered a takeway which was not the usual standard of the food we have had before. VERY greasy, 3 of us ordered meals and none of us thought the food was good. Sorry last takeaway we will order.

We have found a new favorite place for take away! We like the price and the convenience to our place. Highly recommend the crispy duck rolls starter and the crispy shredded chili beef. You should try this place!

My parents go here a lot, when visiting, I always make it a "must". Tonight, it was exceptional. great food, nice portion sizes and a friendly team.

We tried imperial garden Chinese restaurant this evening and it was the best takeaway we have had in a very long time. The chap who served us was able to advise on vegan choices that were plentiful and imaginative such as vegan duck dishes (which we had). The food was fresh, without nasty monosodium glutamate, and really tasty. Will definitely visit again

Went last night (29/8/19) with my daughter and was not what I expected,they sat us down and gave prawn crackers which were very nice,we then ordered our drink to share and those were really the only two highlights of the meal.We were then given our food,I had ordered the sizzling Bang Bang chicken which had more peppers in than chicken,was spicy like said and lacked on the main ingredient,my daughter had sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong Style and she said it was very bland and nothing really tasted like what it was meant to be, we ordered a side of chips which were definitely microwaved and had no taste. Didn’t bother ordering dessert as we thought desserts from anywhere else would be much better,the bill in total (prawn crackers,drink,my meal and my daughters meal and 2 spring rolls) came to £31 which was not good with the quality of our meal,unimpressed Imperial Garden,that was our last visit

Ordered a Takeaway to the total value of £48 and 3 items were missing to the tune of £9 worth. Completely ruined the meal for us and when I rang to complain the girl made the mistake of asking "would you like us to discount this off of the price of your next order", I was not pleased to say the least as I feel that when you are taking orders for this sort of money you need to get it right, or shut up shop and get out of town! The girl was unable to reimburse this sum of money to the original payment method and when I asked as to why, she made a very sarcastic comment "I'm not a mind reader". I am completely shocked at what such poor service was offered to us given that the entire meal was a total write off, I find this to be an absolute cheek and totally unnacceptable. And yes I now even have to take the time to go in there to get my £9 back.

We tried this restaurant recently and were pleasantly surprised. We ate early on a Friday night to avoid the crowds, the surroundings were clean and spacious we were promply seated; we started with thai ribs which were flavoursome and very tender along with prawn satay skewers, the sauce being rich in flavour which was complemented by being served on a type of pickled cabbage. We had straightforward mains consisting of a tasty chicken curry , duck with spring onions and ginger which was both slightly crispy but tender, beef chow mein and a really good special fried rice. Service was pleasant and friendly if slightly erratic but this didnt detract from a pleasant evening.

A small but perfectly formed restaurant serving delicious food from China, Thai and Malaysia. Service was quick and attentive and the food delicious and plentiful. The Kung Po chicken was delicious and just the right amount of heat. Give it a go........

My wife and myself visited here on a Friday night for our wedding Anniversary meal, the food and service was totally amazing, we started with a mixed platter to share....yummy, for the mains my wife chose the sizzling pork in white wine sauce with egg fried rice, which sadly because I ordered such a large starter she couldn't finish, the portion was huge, I had Singapore fried rice with curry sauce, both meals were absolutely delicious, my wife finished off with a lemon sorbet. Many thanks to all the staff for making our evening so enjoyable.

Tried this Chinese restaurant for the first time this evening. The food came quickly and all three of our mains - and indeed our starters - were first-rate. But good food can often be tainted by poor staff, yet the people here were all VERY friendly and helpful, even offering to give yours truly a lesson in chopstick-handling (I've never been able to master it - until tonight actually). Great place - will def come again soon.

We had another superb meal at Imperial Garden. Despite coming in quite late, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive and there was no sense of us being hurried to finish. The food was exceptional, fresh and full of flavour in each contrasting dish. Chicken sambal, Mongolian lamb and beef satay were absolute winners. We will be back again soon.

My wife is a Coeliac. So to find they did a menu with meals available for a Coeliac was a first.Thoroughly enjoyed the food staff very attentive. Will definately be going back again

Situated in the centre of Corsham, this venue is not imposing from the exterior, but is surprisingly large inside and has a pleasant environment. When we arrived all the tables were taken.

Imperial Garden is very much Hit or Miss. The food varies between edible and awful!

Went today with my daugther for the lunch menu. We both had the £12.50 each set menu and I can easierly say its one of, if not the best chinese meals ive had.

Amazing menu for a Vegetarian, I had deep fried mushrooms and my husband had the crispy chili chicken. We equally enjoyed the food and overall experience! Friendly staff and a great service. Thank you we will be back

Lovely venue, really friendly staff and great wine. Hadn’t booked and made to feel very welcome. King prawn Thai green curry was beautiful. Duck in plum sauce great portion and lovely. Lovely seafood chow mein. Wasn’t so keen on Thai fish cake starter or would have given 5 stars. Would absolutely go again and recommend

What can I say, the food here is always amazing and so tasty, the portions are big and excellent value for money, the staff are always friendly and attentive and I would definitely recommend going here for either a sit down meal or takeaway.

We had booked a table but had to be somewhere else so we were short on time. No problem! Despite having a large family group who were really enjoying themselves,both children and adults,our food came quickly and when we didn't have time to finish it, it was packed up and we enjoyed it last night. A great experience, lovely food, and equally lovely staff. Thank you we'll be back with more time.

Called in to see if could be accommodated-Saturday night about 5.30pm-already steady but not packed out! Were offered various tables & took our choice. Very warm welcome, staff very friendly & attentive. Food arrived very efficiently & nothing too much trouble. We even asked for a master class in the use of chop sticks!! Food apsolutely delicious- very tasty curry sauce. We all cleared our plates & will definitely return soon.

Came here with friends last night and had a very good evening. Service was excellent and so was the food. Although the restaurant was quite busy the food came out soon after ordering. Very polite and helpful staff. Will be back.

Opens at 5.00 pm so arriving at 5.15 we received excellent service and the food, set menu for two with a couple of draught beers (Tiger) was superb, the duck was worth gong for on its own. But the other parts too were really first class.

We visited for an evening meal and were really impressed. The food was delicious, and the staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. Although the restaurant was busy the atmosphere was relaxed.

This was my fourth visit and the food was as always very good. However there was a mix up with the booking which resulted in us being squeezed into a corner near the toilets on a long and thin table. We received an apology and were given one free bottle of wine as a bit of compensation. Clearly they had taken too many bookings and the service was poor with one person’s meal being completely forgotten.

First time to visit this restaurant and very impressed with the friendly and attentive staff, general decor and ambiance of restaurant, but above all, the quality of food Chose the set menu for 3 persons and just managed to finish it all. Great value

This is probably the best oriental restaurant in the area. It is very popular and busy but the food and service is excellent. Look forward to going again. To avoid disappointment do book in advance.

We went here for a birthday visit the food was fantastic and the service was as always 5 star, the staff are sooooo friendly, we have also visited since they opened for takeaway meals.....WOW the food is always superb and excellent portions.

I went to the Imperial Garden in Corsham Wilts with my sons for a birthday celebration for my youngest son. What a good food experience it was. My Morroccan lamb was the most delicious dish I have ever tasted. My compliments to chef and to the owner

I have frequented here quite a few times with both family and friends and have never been disappointed.

Got our drinks mixed up (ordered coke with ice and lemon and diet coke with neither, came the wrong way round) we asked them to fix it and they said we could just pick the ice and lemon out and put it in the other glass! Starters were tasty and hot but the mains (sizzling satay chicken and chicken pad thai) were bland. We then found a hair in the pad thai, we informed the waitress and she laughed at us and walked away... that was when we gave up on this restaurant completely, paid the bill and left. Utterly disappointing in every way.

I have been in for dinner a couple of times recently. Both times I have been really happy with the food and service. The food tastes fresh and the menu offers a wide range of dishes. A step up from your standard take away.

I don’t normally like Chinese nor like to post anything on social media, but this time I had to! Food was super yummy, wine was good as well and they are brilliant with my 10 month old baby girl! Highly recommended!!

Popped in with a pal for the lunch special menu. Have done this a number of times and again everything was great. The welcome, service and food. Will be calling again in the future, so lucky that I can walk to this restaurant. Thank you again.

A warm welcome from the ladies every time is always a good start. Shown to your table and never rushed to sit back and enjoy the wonderful food and reasonably priced with descent sized portions. A varied menu so always worth trying something different. Can't wait to visit again.

We’ve visited this restaurant several times since it opened in 2017. The food is all the usual Chinese favourites, well prepared from good ingredients. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic. Beers and other drinks are available to complement the food. We’ve visited with friends and with our grandchildren. The children are welcomed and well catered for.

A lovely way to spend an evening with friends . The restaurant was very busy ( Chinese New Year) but the service was good, the food excellent , large choice and would suit most diets.

We visited this establishment, with friends, upon a recommendation and they were not wrong. Although this is a 40 minute drive for us its more than worth it. The food is fresh tasting and presented very well. The staff are helpful and friendly, the larger tables with the built in 'lazy Susan' are a great idea. The menu is extensive and upon first inspection expensive, but when you see what you get it works out at exceptional value. We cant wait to return

Good food but not really much better than the other local Chinese take-aways. Service was very poor and we didn’t receive our food for almost an hour! Simply not enough staff. I don’t think the food or service was worth the money, which was quite a bit more than the Delicious House or Hong Kong House. Decor was very plain for a Chinese restaurant, where’s the colour???

Just a simple mid-week evening meal for family of three. We were all very please with our starters and main course. The portions were ample and the restaurant is bright and clean throughout. A pleasure to dine there.

I pop over to this restaurant almost every week for the past six months. The food is always to an high standard and always fresh ingredients. A friend recommended this place to me as I had yet to find a Chinese restaurant in this part of Wiltshire that I enjoyed. He said about how fresh the food was and was so right. I have lived in Wiltshire for seven years. This restaurant is well worth going to if you like this kind of food.

Great experience, wonderful food and service. Had crispy duck to start, chilli beef, spicy chicken with cashews and chow mien for main. Also recommend the house Sauvignon Blanc too!

This must be the best Chinese Restaurant in Wiltshire and beyond, couldn't fault the food or the wonderful service. The staff including the proprietor could not do enough for us, very friendly and charming, we will definitely be going back again.

We went to try this new place on a busy Saturday night. Really nice atmosphere and tables really well spaced to have your own space. Food was perfectly timed with attentive staff listening and responding to me informing them of my nut allergy.

Had not booked on a Wednesday night but might do so next time - the restaurant was probably over half full at 630 mid week!

Food was OK but the verbal abuse I and my party received at the end of our meal was beyond belief. The proprietor took exception I think to my comment that Fortune cookies are a Japanese/American thing and have no place in a Chinese restaurant, but even so I would not recommend this place if you want to be treated with the respect every paying customer deserves. She even insulted my wife, who was keeping very quiet during her tirade.

Came across this new place on a re-visit to Corsham where we used to live, and when we lived there this used to be an Indian. This is a great new addition to the dining options in the town and this is indeed a very good Chinese restaurant, with a few Thai dishes thrown in. Really good service and very fresh food combined with a good ambience. We will definitely return soon.

My wife and I dropped in for a meal after a long walk through the beautiful Wiltshire countryside (pub walk around Corsham & Box). The staff were very welcoming as we hadn’t booked, but it was early evening & before the rush. We hadn’t been before and thought we would select some traditional dishes to get an indication of the quality of the food. Well, the spring rolls and chicken satay starters were very good, especially the spring rolls which were full of flavour. I can honestly says it’s the best in town for a sit down Chinese meal. The price is about 30% more than other takeaways in Corsham, but the quality is 50% better. Great job by the staff and they should be congratulated for excellent service.

Definitely the best Asian meal we have had in the West Country. Compares well to the best Chinese restaurants in London, Vancouver, and New York. The staff a very helpful and genuinely interested in feedback.

Decided to give it a try and very glad I did. Excellent and polite service. Delicious sizzling freshly-cooked food. Really enjoyed it. Recommended.

It is a new Chinese restaurant in Corsham and it's the best! The staff was great the food was amazing! We have tried other Chinese but none come close to being as good ! The portion and prices are great , it's clean , and peaceful place to enjoy a great meal. If your in Corsham and looking for good Chinese food this place is a must.

We came to Imperial Gardens for a family celebration and decided on the set menu for 4 people. The food overall was excellent - we particularly enjoyed the crispy duck with pancakes, beef with sezchaun sauce and the yeung chau fried rice. I also thought the level of service was impressive. The restaurant was very busy so the serving staff were working really hard but all the food came out piping out and obviously freshly cooked. The menu is very extensive (too many choices?) so the special set dinner was a good choice for our first visit. We will go back and sample more of the menu!

Such a fabulous addition to Corsham, what a transformation! We have eaten here three times since it's opening and also enjoyed a takeaway. The menu is extensive and varied and the food never fails to be incredible, plus the service is impeccable - so friendly and attentive. Cannot wait to visit again soon...
