Arrived at 5pm , already a queue to get in . That's how popular the place is, food and service was very good.throughly a very good experience.

We had a table for 2 for my partners birthday at 6pm yesterday. Really enjoyed everything. Food was excellent.

Best Italian in the area Always a warm and friendly atmosphere and top quality food.

Pleasantly surprised. Visited again for the 2nd time to celebrate our daughters birthday. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and gorgeous food.

Food and service excellent. Unfortunately very warm evening a bit warm inside and like a lot of excellent Italian restaurants quite noisy but that is to be expected

Last night 31/07/2024 I attended Il Vecchio with five friends. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff and shown to our table. The waiter came over when all guests had arrived to take our orders and that is where it all started to go wrong. The waiter was the rudest person we have ever been served by and we all eat out a lot. He was abrupt did not listen looked angry and despite one of the party asking for a Margarita pizza with no ham just mushrooms he did not listen so she repeated the order to him. When he read the order back to us she had to correct him ‘no ham just mushrooms’ when our meals arrived her pizza came with ham and no mushrooms despite telling him three times, he was just not listening. She then had to sit and watch us eat until they corrected her order. It was the worst experience we as a group have ever had, we go out together for a meal every month but will NOT be visiting this restaurant again They did not even offer my friend a drink whilst she sat watching us eat. Then to top it all we had to pay a £20.30 compulsory service charge for absolutely appalling service. Such a shame as the food was very good 😡

The first time I went we were a party of six and everything was amazing I couldn’t fault anything the food the service the wait time it was all perfect although the second time I went the waiter was very dismissive he didn’t right our order down and due to allergies I’m unable to have garlic and onion he seemed to be confused at our order but went away anyway then when the food arrived there was quite a few things wrong with it but then we got another waiter and they were amazing super understanding and really apologetic. Overall I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant and would absolutely go again.

I can not thank the staff enough for looking after our party of 8 as we celebrated my daughter's birthday, the food was scrumptious, the staff attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. I can't wait until we can go back again for another lovely evening.

Fathers day dinner with the wife's family. It is a pleasant place, the staff were good, it was very busy, the food was decent and the portion size was fine. Like everywhere the costs have risen dramatically. Starter mains and puddings, some drinks, £40 a person.

Il Vecchios is a beautiful restaurant in Heywood with impeccable service, the most authentic & tastiest Italian food and a wonderful pleasant atmosphere. My girlfriend and I eat here a lot, they also offer a takeaway service - great for when we don't feel like dressing up. Its our go-to whenever we want good food and service that we can rely on 100% of the time. The staff honestly make this place. The servers, bar staff and manager always have a smile on their faces. Keen to cater to your needs and will happily make pleasant conversation. Pricing is very reasonable, for the 2 of us we typically spend about £30 each, that's for a starter, main and drinks - We sometimes have a desert but the portion sizes are very generous so we are usually quite full after our main or having it boxed up to take home, its too good of food to waste. If you are looking for a genuine Italian with great service for a good price, I heavily recommend Il Vecchios, we go here for all of our celebrations

I have been going here for years and cannot fault the place. The food is incredible and very good value. The staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is always great.

Outstanding one of the best restaurants I've been to regarding everything starter I had garlic bread with tomato and filetto al Pepe & fillet steak with no sauce I actually went up to the chef and give him my compliments on cooking the steak to perfection going to recommend to all my friends and I am definitely returning & will be doing several times over the year thanks again for the evening and for a great birthday for my daughter 34th birthday very welcoming establishment by regards Mr M wood

First time there for a Birthday celebration, The family of ten had a lovely experience, The food was fabulous. The staff were amazing and very friendly. Would really recommend and would definitely go again.

This was our first visit and we Woukd certainly come back again. Great choice on the menu snd reasonable prices for quality food. Atmosojear and seating was good. And the staff were friendly and helpful. If you've not been I would highly recommend it. Good free oarking near by too.

We don’t go out eating a lot. But when do we go to ll Vecchio. Food is perfect and the staff are great. Recommend 😊

Very busy, music a little too loud for conversation - but food is absolutely delicious.

Visited on a Friday evening. It was very busy and noisy and it is difficult to have a conversation. I did not enjoy my canneloni, find it difficult to get a decent one these days.

From start to finish everything was amazing food service it all was great I would recommend it any time and will be going back

Lovely food & great service. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and helpful too. The only thing I would say is the lights are too bright in there which kills the ambience a bit, but if that doesn't bother you, go there, it's really really good ☺️

Best place to eat ever! So sad we've moved to Scotland as we're going to miss coming for our favourite cheesy garlic bread and spaghetti carbonara. Least we're guaranteed a visit every trip back down. One of the main reasons to go back down south!

Felt very rushed Ordered drinks (bottle) and starters said wanted to wait a little while to order mains to have a drink and chat. In total was asked 6 times to order mains within about 30 minutes Obviously flipping the table was more important than the customer Mains were underwhelming clams in meal shut? Should never serve closed shell fish Pasta undercooked and chewy Won’t be back sorry. Staff very pleasant but not the type of restaurant that wants people to enjoy a dining experience Also dishes don’t look like the pictures on website.

We have been for family dinner out at Il Vecchio a few times, and we always enjoyed it there. Food was always delicious, and the atmosphere was nice. Staff as well very friendly and helpful.

We went on Saturday. All I can say is 3 ribs for£8.95. 1 was very small the other 2 slightly bigger but to pay that money shocking.

We have steered clear of this place for quite a few years as we had a bad experience when we last went so, we went with quite a lot of apprehension. Our fears were laid to rest as the service amd food were first class. The only downside was that they had run out of Tiramisu so we never had a dessert as that's the only one we tend to eat when we're out. Apart from that, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thankyou for renewing our faith.

Must admit I was a bella sera fan but since the change of owner the food is nothing like it was. Been to il vecchio on numerous occasions and is the best in heywood.

Amazing food, kind staff, excellent chef. All the food we had was lovely and cooked just right. At one point the waiter said the chef wasn’t happy with one of the garlic breads but it had been served to us so brought our a new one- we couldn’t even tell what was wrong! We felt very well cared for.

Small, peaceful dining experience, amazing food. Best calzone I have had in a while, and the dessert was worth it! :)

Visited today for the first with a friend who has been loads. Lovely food, friendly staff and great service. Lots of choice on the menu, we had tomato pizza to start which was amazing and Farfalle Salmon for main, would certainly order that again and will definitely be visiting again with my family.

Very nice and welcoming atmosphere but nothing to do with an Italian restaurant....I got a calzone which it's like a folded pizza....super salty and not the best dough....no sure about the rest on the menu but I will not definitely go back there for a Italian pizza

We visited as a family booking for 10 for my daughters 21st. The food was fantastic, the staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was great with a full restaurant.

Amazing staff, beautiful food and surroundings, I would definitely recommend them. The lamb shank was so tender and the sticky toffee pudding is to die for.

Our favourite Italian restaurant never fails to delight

Not as good as the 1st time we visited. The food was fine, the restaurant was loud and felt too busy for a relaxing evening out. The service was extremely poor having to ask for extra bread at least twice and having nearly finished the course before it arrived and then asking for water on four occasions just isn't on. Went to Costello near Fairfield Hospital last night and it was excellent food and superb service especially.

First time I've been in a while, main courses were very nice, steaks,lamb shank,chicken and pasta. Just felt starter left a little to be desired as the squid was very chewy didn't seem fresh. All in all nice evening and staff were pleasant and helpful
