We loved it, ate everything, Clean restaurant and very friendly staff

It was very nice but the prices were a fair bit more than on the website and they added a 10% service charge on top that wasn’t advertised anywhere. As a result, we expected the meal to come to £25.15 and it actually came to £34.54. The food was lovely but wouldn’t come back here as the reason we went here in the first place is because we thought it looked excellent value for money. It was still not too expensive but feel we’ve been misled and ripped off. I emailed the restaurant about this to politely request to be refunded the difference and they didn’t bother to reply or update the website with the correct prices

Fairly alright place, nothing hugely authentic about the joint and the prices are acceptable — if you’re in camden there aren’t a huge many more good italian places anyway so why not!

Lovely Italian restaurant with a range of vegetarian options. The portions are really good sizes and the food itself is really tasty. When we went the restaurant wasn't super busy (it was very early in the evening) but this was good as it meant it wasn't really loud. I would recommend coming here for a meal, the food all tastes freshly made and the truffle pesto linguine is a must try!

Fantastic Italian with fresh and tasty food. Very busy for a Tuesday night but service was fab.

We entered without a reservation on a cold evening. The man who greeted us really seemed annoyed and not at all friendly. We were seated however and given menus. The place was busy with who appeared to be locals - the restaurant has a neighborhood vibe. Menus had a good choice of items that looked great and a few choices for house wines. The guy came and took our order. I hope for his sake he's not always so disapproving of all his customers. He gave off such a bad vibe. Thankfully I noticed another female member of the staff who seemed very positive and welcoming. I wish we got her! After ordering, we got two small pots of prepacked parmesan cheese on the table. After that we weren't really hopeful about the food we would be served. When our pastas did come the sauces were really liquid with pools of water in the plate. Sadly they were really tasteless. All in all, this is probably the worst "Italian" restaurant I've ever been to. I definitely would recommend it, nor go again.

My friend and I ate pasta here and we were really happy with both the food and the service! The people working here are super sweet and we got our pasta really fast.

We went there in the afternoon so we immediately got a table. The portion sizes of the pasta meals are pretty big especially compared to what I‘m used to from Germany. It was a bit too much for me though. The linguine with mushrooms and truffles pesto were delicious and quite rich in both flavour and mushrooms. Definitely worth checking out!

The Il Sugo is a small nice restaurant with really good food. The pizza and the pasta were really delicious and the waiter was really polite and helpful... Best choice for Italian food.

I was here with my girlfriend on a date. We arrived at a later hour (10pm) and were served with the same care and hospitality as if it was midday. We got good recommendations, had starters and mains. Everything was delicious and we stayed until closing. The service was quick and friendly, we had a great time. Highly recommended!

Gezellig, niet te groot restaurant. Gastvrije medewerkers (hoewel het vol was, wisten ze alsnog een plekje voor ons te creëren). Snelle bediening, eten was lekker, en niet duur.

Went there with my husband for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Food was delicious and portion sizes were just right. It was a bit quiet but to be expected for a Saturday.

The food is so good. Must try the weekend special. Everything is nice from starter to dessert.

La verdad que la comida estaba bien y el camarero bastante amable.

Friendly service, but that’s where the positives end. We went at peak time and there was only one chef in the kitchen, so food took quite a while. We went as a group and all agreed it was some of worst Italian food we have ever eaten. My Sicilian ancestors would be rolling in their grave.

She goes the extra mile, remembering our orders with precision and always welcoming us with a big smile and genuine kindness. The food is not only superb but also comes in huge portions that offer good value for money. We've been coming back regularly since we discovered it. Highly recommended.

Great tasting food. Great service and positive spirited staff Great willingness to talk to the kids, inform about the meals and modify the meals as per request and to help with transport onwards. Only downside is the portions could be slightly larger

Was only okay pasta bit only and creamy and menu said Calbonara was made with egg white that was case. Other than thatthat was a big portion and okay price.

With 3 people we ordered 2 pizzas, one pasta dish and 2 brushcetta's as well as drinks. I found that my pepperoni pizza had a dry base with little tomato sauce and was much over seaaoned in oregano. The bruschetta was doused in balsamic vinegar which I liked but made the bread soggy. While the service was good and staff were friendly I wouldn't go back for the food.

Been here 4 times now and it remains my favourite restaurant in London and beyond! Amazing food, great portions, lovely atmosphere, brilliant staff, good location, and good selection too :) Come here and avoid the overpriced and bad quality chain restaurants on Camden High St. Will be back again soon x

I’ve eaten twice at this restaurant in the past couple of weeks and both times it’s been fantastic. I went with my mum for an evening meal where we shared pasta dishes - both of which were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the lobster special they do on a weekend. I also visited on my own for lunch and had the arrancini and a pizza. The lunch menu is great value and the food was faultless. The service was impeccable - friendly, welcoming and very knowledgable about the food. I’ll definitely be visiting again next time I’m in London.

Came off the back of so many good reviews and I can honestly say that’s the worst Italian meal in my life. We had seafood spaghetti and the veal milanese. Both were terrible - they tasted old and the veal was super thin and covered in a stale bread crumb coating. Terrible experience although the waiter was pleasant. One to avoid - so many better Italian restaurants in london.

Service was great but I was under-impressed with the risotto. However, I loved the panna cotta and the price of the cocktails weren't bad for Camden. Overall a decent Italian restaurant.

Tenía muchas ganas de esta comida después de leer las excelentes críticas. Tuve una pasta al salmone y mi amigo una pizza margharita. Su pizza era mediocre, pero mi pasta era realmente terrible: el tomate, la crema y el salmón es una mezcla terrible, pero podría haber sido comestible si no estuviera llena de eneldo, que abrumaba el plato. Nunca recibimos un cheque por lo que obviamente no les importó. Dejé más de la mitad de mi plato y en voz baja dije que no me gustaba cuando la camarera recogió los platos, pero eso fue completamente ignorado.El único punto positivo fue mi tiramisú, que estaba delicioso, pero el pastel de chocolate de mi amigo estaba seco y triste. La gracia salvadora fue que con la tarjeta Gourmet Society la comida era bastante barata. Pero nunca volveré y creo que es una pena.

We live locally and love coming here. The food is always consistently good, affordable and the staff are always so friendly and efficient. The gnocchi is always great and so is the pizza. If you’re in the area it’s a lovely little local restaurant.

Vinimos una amiga y yo que andábamos perdidas por Camden ya que no queríamos comer en el típico McDonald's, encontramos este sitio y fue la mejor decisión que tomamos. Las pizzas grandes y la pasta deliciosa. Si no eres muy bueno en el inglés, te atienden en español.Rapidez y muy buen trato.

Il Sugo is a small, warm and cosy independent Italian restaurant just down the road from Camden Town station, kind of tucked away so a good find. We went for dinner before a show at the Jazz Cafe (2 mins walk away) and it was a lovely casual dinner. Perfect for couples, friends or even if you want a quiet dinner solo with a book. Lovely atmosphere but not overstimulating. Very warm and welcoming staff and very affordable! Will definitely revisit if in this part of town again.

Popped in on a Monday night, we were the only table in there for quite a while which is shocking when you take into account the quality of the food. Absolutely delicious pasta, the arrabbiata was AMAZING! The staff were friendly and happy to chat and have a laugh. I will totally shun the chain Italians in Camden and be back at Il Sugo.

Pasamos la nochebuena en Candem. No sabíamos donde ir a cenar y este estaba abierto y reservamos. Antes de entrar una chica que estaba fumando nos dijo que era un restaurante maravilloso que se lo habían recomendado y que estaba encantada. La verdad que no exageró nada. La comida estaba riquísima, la atención fué estupenda, el ambiente genial, nos lo pasamos en grande. Gracias por una noche inolvidable.

Dropped into Il Sugo in Camden while walking past for dinner. Really decent quality Italian food with lovely and smiley service from both the waiters. Love finding little local gems like this that buck the chain Italian restaurants. Would recommend!

Went for a quick meal before a gig at the Jazz Café (around the corner). Very friendly and efficient service. Bustling place but not too noisy. We tried pasta with mushrooms and truffle sauce and a pizza with anchovies and capers. Both were excellent, and I cannot imagine that other dishes are any less good. The pasta al dente and the pizza dough as it should be. Recommended!

I’ve been here twice in this month and would definitely go again. The food was amazing, loved the four cheese gnocchi and the pizza was well cooked. We order the garlic prawns both time which were great on both occasions. I would recommend this place for sure. Only one feed back: serve your pizzas on a board rather then a plate.

Mi novia y yo fuimos a este pequeño restaurante italiano en Camden Town cuando pasamos una semana en Londres después de querer pasar una semana juntos antes de volver a la realidad. Visitamos una vez antes en su 20 cumpleaños junto con sus padres y la comida fue impecable. Fue nuevamente esta vez y la comida era igual que la última vez, increíble. Sin embargo, una vez servida, la camarera preguntó si alguno de nosotros quería un poco de queso parmesano en el que mi novia quería. Así que esperamos y esperamos hasta el punto en que ella no había regresado, hasta el punto en que pasaron 5 a 6 minutos, así que tuvimos que comenzar a comer, lo único negativo en una encantadora velada en la ciudad. Sí, la camarera nunca volvió con el parmesano.

Cena familiar encantadora anoche. Servicio muy cálido y acogedor. El ambiente agradable y tranquilo facilitó el disfrute de nuestra conversación. Tanto el esposo como yo elegimos pescado: salmón para él, lubina para mí. Ambos fueron cocinados maravillosamente y servidos con papas asadas y verduras. Los niños tenían pasta y ambos disfrutaban. Los postres eran de primera clase. A los niños les encantó su Torta al Cioccolato y pensamos que el Tiramisú estaba fuera de este mundo.

Justo fuera de Camden Town, pero el personal y el servicio fueron excepcionales. Comimos menú: sopas, arroz y pasta. No se puede mejorar.

We visited this lovely little restaraunt on Saturday night for my sisters Hen. We had a party of 16 gals. The restaraunt was so accommodating, the staff were excellent and the food was so delicious. Very reasonably priced. We'd all highly recommend you visit if your in the neighbourhood.

Arrived early for our meal. male waiter greated us with such a warm welcome we go a lovely window seat. Food excellent very large portions wine delicious. So cheap for London. I would recommend 100% for people. I will definitely go back.

A friend and I were looking for a bite to eat one Monday lunchtime and everywhere in Camden was very quiet. We took a chance on Il Sugo and it was not a mistake. The food was fantastic! Brilliant, generous pasta portion sizes, that were full of flavour and delicious. The servers were very generous and accommodating, we were given on the house bread and coffee. Our lunchtime went on for about three hours because it was just such a lovely restaurant with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend - you will not be disappointed.

Visit for early dinner..2 course for 9.95..dishes were tasty and generous size ...didn't think I would finish my pizza after the rice balls ..but somehow manages it..will be back next time in Camden...

Went on spec when visiting family in the area. Seated quickly, food arrived in OK time considering the restaurant was empty! The menu is not that enterprising but all the choices we had were very tasty - not sure I would rush back but only because there is so much choice.

Took my girlfriend here a few weeks ago, and could not fault a thing. Service was good speed and friendly, good choice of wine, and the food was delicious, with good vegetarian options. Would recommend this wholeheartedly.

What a day! Found a nice little Italian restaurant for lunch today and impressed with the multilingual owner, Mario who’s travelled extensively!

Siamo venuti in 3 per un pranzo. Servizio ottimo, la ragazza attenta e gentile. Tutto il contrario riguardo il cibo. Antipasti nella media tranne focaccia buona. Lasagna e carbonara innaquate, la prima troppa poca pasta, la seconda troppa panna.

We picked il Sugo as they would accept our taste card on a Saturday night. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, Ella who served us, was very efficient, friendly and informative. We would not hesitate to recommend, and if we are In the area again would certainly visit. The menu was very comprehensive and the food well cooked.

After wandering the streets of Camden, we decided to find somewhere to eat. Although the street food smelt delicious we needed to be sat down and served..

Called in on a wet Sunday night about 8pm and was made very welcome, the restaurant was not busy and we had great service from the staff. The food was delicious and plenty of it, the wine was also reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Booked for 10 of us to go here for dinner after a few pints of Guinness on st.patricks day. As soon as we walked in, I knew we were in for s treat! The smell of garlic and basil and bread made our mouths water! Food didn’t disappoint - was gorgeous! Penne arrabiatta, pizzas, risotto, arancini, bruschetta - all delicious and one ‘special’ lobster linguine- I was told was utterly delicious! All washed down with lovely red wine, cold beer, a few gins and espresso martinis. Most of us were too full for dessert but one had tirimisu which I’d course we all tried- delicious! Oh and the waiting staff - really lovely, friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend.

I brought a friend after ranting over the great food. But..The food however this time was tasteless and cold. I will not be returning again

Il Sugo, a small restaurant placed next to Camden High Street is without doubt the best fresh mediterranean-food restaurant that I've ever experienced in London over the last 2 years. Really good price/quality ratio, generous portions (something unusual in central London) and great customer service ever!!
