Lovely little place this, been here before and it’s always a nice, quiet place to enjoy the food and drink with loved one. The one little criticism and it is little, the prices are expensive for the food but the food is good. (A guess you get what you pay for) Without the 20% off it was £130 for two of us. Which is MCR prices so make sure you go when there are offers on. Services was a little slow last night too, waiting 10-12 mins for extra bread but it was generally very good.

Overall feeling after our visit....underwhelmed and will not be returning or recommending. The food was average and had some odd tastes, not enough good pasta dishes. We were seated on a very large table unsuitable for five people, needed a megaphone to have a conversation due to the other party with a screaming baby. The restaurant itself has some nice touches and the wc's were clean and tidy. The food though was underwhelming, some of it was nicely cooked but we just didn't really like the flavours that much, the chicken dish had an odd after taste, no offer of black pepper or parmesan. The staff seemed young and inexperienced, we felt a little forgotten at times. There are far better places.

This was our first visit to Il Mulino . Initial impressions were very good , seating decor and lighting all impressive. We had a drink in the lovely bar area before being taken to our seats. We liked the idea of the ‘wine cave ‘ from where we chose a very nice bottle of Chianti. Three of our group chose the mackerel starter and I had the burrata, we all then had the chicken main with some sides. Everything was very good , nicely presented and perfectly seasoned . We finished with the torte nonna and cheeseboard , both excellent. Service throughout the evening was perfect. Thoroughly recommended, we look forward to our next visit

Michelin level food and service. The wine cellar experience was unique and exciting. Every dish was extremely well balanced using the best local produce. Friendly service and decor of the restaurant was beautiful. A very special restaurant, looking forward to a return visit! Only small recommendation would be to include which dishes are gluten free or could be adapted to a GFO on the menu itself.

What a beautifully appointed restaurant and bar Il Mulino is. The quality and decor of the building is first class and impeccably finished. The menu is really well put together with small eats, starters, nibbles etc before you consider the mains. No wine menu...... even better they take you to a small wine room to choose your own which is a brilliant idea as looking and reading the labels brings you closer to your choice. Food was superb. Compliments to the staff and above all the Chef and team. Everything super fresh. I cannot recommend Il Mulini enough. We will be back!

Wow what a difference a few months make, went in March and found it great went last week and waited over 20 minutes before we were asked if we were ready to order food, we hadn't even been asked if we wanted any drinks, we'd been offered water when we sat down and even that hadn't arrived. Service is slow and not attentive, food just ok, I've had much better. Real shame as the venue is lovely. The couple next to us also were struggling to get drinks, and staff would come to serve and not take away empty items away. Seemed to be loads of young girls working with no supervision, meaning service was very poor. We won't be going again.

I visited here with colleagues for a mid-week evening meal. There are some great deals on such as early bird where you get three courses for £16.95. I opted for that as the options I was going to get for starter and main were on there anyway and it worked out cheaper to do that than order them from the main menu (plus I got dessert in the early bird price too!) Starter of fried halloumi was really nicely cooked and a perfect sized portion. My colleague had calamari but they felt it was a bit soggy for their liking. For main I had penne dolca vita which was really tasty, It was nicely cooked, had a decent kick and flavour and was suitably portioned. Dessert I had ice-cream which was fine. Overall we had a good evening here and the food was a standard expected of a good Italian restaurant. Service was friendly and generally efficient. Would recommend for a good value Italian meal

Superb food. Lovely restaurant. Friendly service, but overcharged as one of the meals was from the 2 courses for £20 menu, yet the items were charged at the alacarte rate totalling £30.90. We only noticed when we returned home If you offer a special lunch menu you should ensure you charge the right amount. This added around 10% to our bill notwithstanding the tip we left . That said we will return, but will definitely check the bill.
