Great services, great ambiance, great foods

Just got back from this amazing restaurant where we had some delicious food to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The atmosphere and food is fantastic but what makes it is the service, both staff waiting on us were just brilliant even taking a moment to show the kids the kitchen through the floor window. Fantastic evening, thank you.

Came here last night and had a lovely dinner, with great food and drinks, Kimmy also provided us with fantastic service, extremely professional and knowledgeable, We will be back!

Absolutely wonderful evening out, the staff are all so welcoming and friendly, we had 3 courses each and all the food was delicious, it was so nice to have a lot of gluten free options as well. We cannot fault the restaurant, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely visit again

Delicious, traditional Italian food at Il Gusto in the heart of St Margaret’s with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A fantastic range of pizza, pasta, fish and meat dishes, plus all kinds of wines and amazing deserts to suit all tastes.

I went there with my family and we really enjoyed the food it was unbelievable, and the service was excellent the atmosphere was very good everyone there was so happy I highlyrecommend it

Lovely restaurant, We've eaten here several times over the years, either with friends or family, on different occasions. Food is excellent, I've never had a dish that fell beneath my expectations and this opinion is shared with everyone I've eaten here with. The menu is big enough to cater for most tastes, whilst being small enough to ensure that quality is maintained. Staff have always been friendly, helpful and attentive without making you feel hurried. Fantastic feature floor with a glass area that lets you look straight down into the kitchen, pretty cool!!

Lovely surprise! We have lived in the area for years and never tried the restaurant under the new management before. We liked the mussels and prawns dishes a lot. Pizza and Parmigiana were nice as a main but not as much as the starters, those were top. The chef must be really good skilled in handling fish dishes I guess, and we'll definitely be back to try more. Service was attentive and not obtrusive.

Visitando la casa de Turner que necesitábamos en algún lugar para el almuerzo y fueron sorprendidos por lo bueno que era el ravioli de cangrejo. Generosos vasos de vino y precio muy justo por la calidad de la cocina. Gran servicio y tendrá que pensar en una excusa para volver!

Pedí que me moviera de frente a la puerta, ya que estaba helado cada vez que alguien entraba y no se acomodaban en absoluto. El restaurante dijo que tenían otra reserva para 4 a un lado de la puerta, pero solo había 3 personas como nosotros. Así que no entiendo por qué fueron tan inútiles. También era realmente inaceptable tener niños pequeños gritando y corriendo a las 8. 00 . Se sentía como si el personal acomodó a los lugareños que vienen mucho y todos los demás no son bienvenidos. Aunque he vivido aquí durante 20 años y he estado muchas veces. ¡Tal vez solo tienen favoritos! 😳

Este es un buen restaurante local y la comida italiana es muy buena. El servicio es bueno y servicial. Fue redecorado y ahora el ruido es demasiado. El restaurante ni siquiera estaba lleno. Estoy tan decepcionado como este fue mi ir al restaurante. Realmente necesitan hacer algo para absorber el ruido, ya que significaba que era muy difícil para nosotros hablar. Todo lo demás es bueno.

Great local pizza place! We sit downstairs but never had a lack of service. Kid friendly atmosphere. My 4yo had a great time, our server looked after him very well.

Amazing food! Have been eating at il gusto for the last few years. I went here with my neighbour and our food was outstanding. For once I didn’t go for the pizzas I had the seafood pasta which was delicious and the garlic pesto tomato bread to start. There food is amazing and would definitely recommend cannot wait to come for dinner again :)

Hemos venido a il Gusto muchas veces. La comida es buena, pero el servicio es decepcionantemente inconsistente. Durante nuestra última visita, el camarero nos ignoró durante la mayor parte de la comida y tuvimos que recurrir a ponernos de pie para llamar la atención de otros miembros del personal. Por el precio, no vale la pena.

We booked for my father in laws 90th birthday lunch. We had a party of 15. The process was simple. The food delicious and the service excellent. We have eaten here as a couple and as a family too.. every time we are made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend.

Lovely little, local restaurant with super friendly service and very tasty dishes. We had pasta, baked Aubergine and salads.. it was all really tasty and fresh. Great place!

This place is fabulous. That all the staff are smiling and happy is a good start. Happy staff, happy food. This was a break from GCSEs, a visiting son and girlfriend. A trip out. The food sublime. Mussels, aranchini, lightly fried squid, tricolor salad to start. Shared, ripped, guzzled. For mains two specials: fish stew, crab linguine, and the staples lasagne, roast aubergine and smoked chicken pasta. Warm bread, cocktails, laughs. Yum. To finish? Velvety cheesecake - see photo; tiramisu like an angel's breathe; a souffle embarrassed by its own sauciness and something else equally good. Just go.

I have enjoyed dining here several times over the past year. This restaurant ticks every box: 1. Great atmosphere 2. Attentive friendly staff 3. Interesting and reasonably priced wine list 3. Delicious food on the main menu ranging from Sara’s to steak to rich all of which are always beautifully cooked and presented 4. An interesting specials menu which continually change but is consistently excellent I highly recommend Il Gusto. It’s really extremely good

Attended Il Gusto last night for my partners birthday. Table of 7, each persons food was on point! We had pizzas and pasta and wow! All the food came out timely (despite one person being 30 mins late). Calamari was amazing, good sized portion and you could taste the flavour! Our friend has a calzone .. incredible, the taste but also the sheer size! Now let’s get on to service …. IMPECCABLE! Made to feel so welcome, waiter was really attentive and really helpful giving great wine recommendations. We brought a cake with us to celebrate and the staff had the whole restaurant singing. Brought some celebratory Lemoncellos out, the staff even brought me a little apple juice shot as I’m 38 weeks pregnant and didn’t want me feeling left out. Just an absolute pleasure from start to finish and we’ll absolutely be back!

The food was alright, but it wasn’t up to my expectations. I wouldn't return because the quality just wasn't up to par for me.

We had a fantastic Easter lunch at Il Gusto today. They accommodated my wheelchair user Mum without making a fuss. The ambience was relaxed, the team were friendly and the food outstanding. We all had something different from the menu and all super tasty and arrived promptly. Very good value. Eat local!!

Great food and v. friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Went to the old restaurant a few times and was never disappointed. The new restaurant is very good, and the food is frankly, great. Very happy and thinking about what I will have on the next visit. The arancini is fantastic comfort food!

The best local Italian restaurant with exquisite fresh homemade pasta. Every time i come here i am treated with fantastic service and the most delicious food always beautifully presented for a very reasonable price. Valentines dinner was incredibly special and Il Gusto went all out to ensure we had a wonderful dinner date to mark the occasion. Highly recommend.

We stumbled in here by chance on a Saturday night, having made an error with a reservation for another local restaurant… the team were able to squeeze us in and we had a wonderful evening - really friendly service & lovely food (we had pasta and a fish dish - the pizza looked great too.) We don’t live locally but we will be back, & highly recommend.

Yummy!!! Excellent starters - fresh vegetables, cheese, beautiful plating and everything is well seasoned! Many vegetarian options to choose from, and the insalate di pollo can be served with chicken on the side so your veggie friends (like me 😜) can enjoy them. I have to say the salad was an amazing surprise - tomatoes, avocados and cucumbers in lovely portions. Enjoyed tiramisu and americanos after 🥰

The owner or the manager rude & arrogant! Whistling around the restaurant & showing off rather than helping the waiter & waitress. Sea Bass was dry & both plates were loaded with hidden potatoes. Don’t be fulled by the ambiance. Nothing to remember except human folly.

I have lived locally to what is now called II Gusto for many years and I use the restaurant periodically with no issues. On the 25/10/23 I ate there with a friend, we both ordered the same pasta dish Caserecce Affumicate. The following day both of us were very unwell, basically food poisoning. To be clear we had not eaten anything else that day that was the same i.e. we had had separate lunches etc so the chances the pasta dish was the culprit was pretty nailed on. When I popped into the restaurant to let them know in case they wanted to check their ingredients or at least make them aware the response was surprising. The tall blond lady who I spoke with kept repeating that others had ordered and eaten the pasta so there must be nothing wrong with it. I found that response from the restaurant a little concerning, all I wanted to do was make them aware and she made me feel like I was some sort of con artist.. So it could be bad luck but even still they could have handled the well meaning comments (I was not after a freebie) in a more customer centric manner, seems that they have form for this lack of customer service. There are enough good local Italian restaurants to not have to go return.

We went to Il Gusto for the first time this week and we had a great time. I had a gluten free pizza, which was welcome. It’s not always easy for me to find GF food in an Italian restaurant. I enjoyed the wines, my calamari and courgette starter was good and we were were offered complimentary liqueurs at the end of our meal. I’d certainly go back again. The pizza was definitely on the dear side - but hey, it’s St Margaret’s so it’s to be expected. And it’s made with GF pizza dough, which I know it expensive.

Lovely local restaurant. I’ve been to this place a few times and really love it. The owners and most of the waiters are Italian and super friendly and the food is very authentic Italian. The menu offers a wide selection of starters, pasta dishes and second courses, plus they have specials of the day. We had the arancini and calamari for starters which were delicious followed by pizzas with a side of fried courgettes. All outstanding! They also offered a complimentary glass of limoncello and amaretto. The atmosphere is lovely and so is the decor of the restaurant.

Food was outstanding, best Italian I have had in a long time ( outside Italy 😉) and the atmosphere harmonious. Good value for money Service was very efficient though our waiter lack the personality of others who were working that evening.

This was our second visit since they moved to St Margaret. Group of 6 with 2 children. We had arancini, calamari and gamberoni for starters, all were delicious. Then, we had steak, chicken, fish, pasta and pizza, really good. great desserts as well tiramisu, cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding. This is one of our local favourites

I hadn’t been here since it changed hands and was surprised when it was heavily booked on a Wednesday. We arrived and it was packed - always a good sign in a local restaurant. Good menu, good service, great food. It definitely comes top in local places to dine.

Ive eaten twice there this week whilst working locally and each time has been really great . Although I walked in ,its a popular place so best to book to secure ur table . Dining can be inside and outside if u wish . A warm welcome greeted me on each occasion and a table sorted . Extensive menu of traditional Italian dishes , along with a daily specials board . My first meal was pizza, lovely fresh ingredients and of course hand mad base . Second visit was a bruschetta starter which was fresh and vibrant and really tasty . I followed this with a pollo Milanese which again was really tasty and a good portion size. Attentive but not intrusive service , service charge is not included and u can customise ur tip on the payment pad . Really worth a visit if you looking for a traditional Italian night

Nothing out of the ordinary. Simple straightforward Italian food. They do take a while to bring the food out so just make sure you got enough wine!

I love these guys. They are my go to local restaurant. They have lost just a touch of intimacy having moved to bigger and better premises but I can't fault them.

The best place in London for lunch I went there with my family and this people were amazing. Pasta was delicious and fish is very fresh and good. Highly recommend 100% we will comeback for sure soon.

It's an OK Albanian restaurant. Not sure why people love this place so much. Some reviews below are written by the same account. The service is hit and miss at this place with staff ignoring some customers but lauding over others. If you challenge anything, you are met with disdain and scowled at by the Chef's sister. Prices don't reflect the level of the food they serve. It certainly isn't fine dining.
