So following on from the discriminatory reception from the well known il Bordello restaurant nearby, we decided to try a different Italian restaurant, one not as well known except to the locals of Wapping or well reviewed but I am so grateful we found this place. It is genuinely a little gem situated opposite Tobacco Dock. There are old ships sitting in a dry dock so the view outside is pretty cool. We walked in and were immediately warmly welcomed and seated at our table. The people on the adjoining table were locals and mentioned how good the food was so that was very reassuring. We ordered from the starter menu the gamberoni e rucola (pan fried prawns, garlic chilli), cornetto di salmone (avocado and prawn mousse wrapped in smoked salmon) and burrata (with ham on a bed of rocket with a sweet glaze) All of which were exquisite. Mains consisted of a lobster linguine and a fettuccine al salmone. The lobster was unfortunately a tad over cooked but was bursting with flavour and the linguine and all its sauce was worth licking the plate for. The fettuccine my partner had was so rich and creamy I was in heaven with the taste I had. Desserts; just a tiramisu. It was so light and delicate but packed with flavour. Drinks consisted of a couple of rum swizzles and a mojito. If you like your tropical pineapple and coconut flavours then this is the one for you. I even took one to go. The mojito was very nice but just needed a tad more sugar for my palate. I also ordered an extra pizza to take away cos I had such a good time and loved the food so much. Portion sizes were very healthy, not American size but definitely substantial Service was brilliant. It got a bit busy halfway through our meal with lots of groups and families dining but we felt cared for and appreciated for our custom. Staff saw us out after we finished eating with smiles and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.

Visited this restaurant as a stop off en route to a business meeting. What a good find! It was clean, tidy, light and airy! We had two pasta dishes, a side salad and a garlic bread. We watched the garlic bread being made. Everything we ate was delicious. We only had 50 mins before our meeting but we didn’t need to worry as the service was quick! Toilets clean and staff really helpful. If we are in the area again we’ll be back!

The service was wonderful. The food was delicious and pleasantly filling. The price was reasonable and (wine for those who want a good bottle and happy to pay) reflects the good standard of food.

We’ve eaten here a couple of times over the past 12 months as I son lived at the apartments next door when he was at Uni. So today having spent almost 13 hours out and about with hospital appointment for our son, moving him out of his flat, cleaning too-ing and frowing we decided we would like nice meal without having to walk far ( around 20 metres). Booked a table for 8pm for outside. Arrived on time and the table wasn’t reserved but thankfully one available. After only a 5 minute wait ordered our drinks ( bottle of sparkling water, a cocktail and a pint of lager ) and also our meals. Hubby is gluten intolerant so no pasta or pizza for him so he ordered a chicken fillet dish with a cream and mushroom sauce, potatoes and vegetables with an extra portion of fries. My son ordered the spaghetti carbonara and I ordered the lasagne. So roll forward 30 minutes and still no drinks bearing in mind it had been 35 degrees in London that day and we were GASPING! Anyway, 30 minutes after we arrived the drinks arrived shortly followed by the food. Well, mine and my sons food and the portion of fries. Hubby was brought a plate of pasta with chicken. We obviously told the waiter that it wasn’t what he had ordered .. so it was whisked away. No apology, nothing. 15 minutes later still no sign of hubby’s meal. So he is sat eating the fries while my son and I ate our meals. I approached the waiter and asked if the meal was ever going to arrive. I explained we had had a really long and busy day and all we had wanted to do was enjoy a meal together. He said that there are two chicken dishes that are similar and there had been a mix up. He wasn’t even bothered. Sorry, but one chicken dish is with Pasta and one is with vegetables. When hubby’s finally arrived we are 2/3 of the way through ours and the staff basically didn’t give a monkeys ! I think it was the owner who brought the meal and he did apologise. The food was delicious so no complaints about that but the attitude of the staff basically.. couldn’t give a toss. Very disappointed with the overall experience.. but then again they got their bill paid so it’s a win win for them. In contrast, the night before we had walked down to the Riverside Chinese. 3 courses and a glass of wine for £21. Staff were lovely and the food ( and views over the Thames) were amazing.

My family and I (6 adults, 5 children ages 10-1) visited today for Father's Day. I really cannot fault this restaurant, very organised and friendly, service was amazing and the food was so very tasty, fresh and faultless. I really couldn't recommend this restaurant enough and can't wait to return.

Dear Gado, Last Sunday we have been in il Bacino restaurant we saw you there running around and we were sitting outside in the terrace the service was quite slow but guess what suddenly this fancy convertible car pulled in and pulled over that parked to the side and the person that was in it was Mr James the former manager of il Bacino he said hello to us and we are so pleased and excited to see him back he’s still the same a lot more younger and how elegant he is as soon as he stepped inside of the restaurant things changed and everything was starting moving and becoming functional by him the food and the service was excellent the previous manager that was here is not suitable for the job and role of being the manager of the restaurant in his red suit and shiny shoes we usually go to the circus to see the clowns but you have got one here in il Bacino I hope that Mr James is back for good if he is not here then the restaurant won’t do well and there won’t be as much of a atmosphere and the opinions of my friends your previous manager cannot manage he’s too slow so it’s better for him to get back to his waiter job

Disappointed from by the unsmiling waitress and surly manager (Alexander). Very slow service, staff prioritised the takeaway orders over the customers sat in the restaurant. They missed part of antipasta order which we had to ask to be taken off the bill. We were a group of 4 adults. 2 of us had starters but other 2 had to wait for theirs to arrive. So half group finished theirs before the othe plates arrived. Quality of food was okay/nice apart from the veal which was tough. We spent a lot - 3 courses each, 2 bottles of wine but the lack of care by the staff left us feeling we wouldn’t want to return again. Cold and unremarkable.

Amazing experience at the Bacino. We found our new fav italian restaurant in London that tastes as good as the food at home in Italy. Brought my mum here for an early dinner the Friday before Mother’s Day. She had the Pollo Alla Grigia and said the chicken was the tenderest and tastiest she’s had in a long time. I had the Scalloppine Mellanzane, the veal was delicious and the sauce so flavourful. Even something as simple as the perfectly done as the steamed spring vegetables makes such a difference compared to the often tasteless vegetables many restaurants think will do. I love the location of this place right opposite Tobacco Dock (and also that it was the place my husband, friends and I had our first celebratory drink out of the house once the first 2020 lockdown broke, so happy memories!) But also, the staff and service are great, it feels like a proper family Italian trattoria despite the modern building. Will keep returning again and again.

Very impressive - we walked in as a group of 10. Even though it was fairly busy we were seated quickly & orders taken efficiently but by no means rushed. The waiters were extremely helpful & knowledgeable. Our food was fantastic, all freshly cooked & very speedy. My husband said it was the best carbonara he’s ever tasted. We went there for a birthday of my friends daughters, two little princess. Since we walk in we said wow, what a lovely restaurant. Then when we open the menu which was impressive, so many dishes to choose from. Allesandro was the person who looked after us, he recommended to us the best dishes, I had the mussels as starter and then the scallopini, my husband had the salmon, everything was cooked well, was so delicious. Last christmas we visited il Bacino we are regular customers for lots of years especially we like to visit il Bacino only for one thing, one man that was there he was the greatest and the most professional on his job. He used to welcome us into the restaurant with joy and a smile on his face and the stylish. The man who worked here clearly had a style who is Mr James if I am completely right? but this upcoming Christmas we decided my family and my friends we never step in that restaurant again. Due to the fact of the recent reviews and complaints of people stating and explaining how they were treated for an example the customer service, the food, the bill for the dinner and not even a simple apology from Bacino. This is the only thing we have to say from all of us that it is a shame that your former manager doesn't exist in that place not even him in person or his name existing in the business anymore. Another thing it's a shame and quite frankly of his superiors shame on them for letting him go on his feet because without him there is no activity or greatness brought to the restaurant by him and this restaurant will never level up with the leadership it has at the moment with the current management who doesn't take into consideration of what the reviews have been saying because it speaks for its self.
