I can only comment on the service. A colleague and I met at the hotel before a meeting. We were going to have a coffee and maybe lunch. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed. A young lady called Jasmine served us some great coffee and I joked with her as she brought them to us, that if she made us some sandwiches we would be very happy. She laughed and said if I wasn't so busy I would". We sat and drank our coffee discussing the coming meeting. I kid you not, she appeared after 5 minutes with a plate of sandwiches. What a top Ibis employee and very pleasant young lady she is. Jasmine thank you 😊

We are not too sure but we suspect someone came and used the toilet in our hotel room while we were away as the toilet smelled foul and the toilet paper was almost finished. But we chose not to escalate the issue as it was our last day

Stop over trip , value for money for a room, location was perfect for us. Friendly from Jasmine on arrival. Room was facing the train track which wasn't an issue as not a major line. Room wasn't fully clean as part of the floor was dusty, chair needed a hoover and some dust on surfaces. Bathroom clean and worked well. The shower was a bit temperamental with the power reducing and going hotter when you didn't expect it to. Tv could be updated with a smart tv. Good tea and coffee although we were not given spoons. Bed was comfortable Breakfast buffet lacked fruit and yogurt. We were told they had run out of croissants this was around 9am , I don't think this is acceptable for an £11.50 breakfast. Coffee was nice and hot selection wasn't bad. We would not have breakfast if we ever stayed there again. Food area is open planned so can get noisy. Check out was easy drop the key card in the box. Overall for the price it was ok which we say loosely, did the job but not sure we would stay there again.

We have to say a special Thankyou to every member of staff at the Ibis Barnsley who rescued my wedding accommodation last minute after being totally let down by another local hotel. Everything about the two day experience was first class from the customer service, to the rooms where I received a free upgrade as was the bride, my family from Ireland received first class treatment including fantastic breakfast facilities. I will be recommending this hotel to everyone,

Ok, I'll keep it short and sweet. Rooms: honestly, hire a new interior designer because this is like something straight out of the Weimar Republic Service: Self serving food but they ran out of food... Lady on the desk was nice though. Location: only way to describe this place is like walking through the hills of Mordor. I've never seen a dog the size of a donkey before but there's a first time for everything I suppose.

Stayed for one night. Location was good (close to M1) but staff seemed stressed. We checked in at ~7pm and at breakfast was served by the same member of staff at ~9am, a 14 hour shift??? Breakfast was ok but most of things were running out and potentially if we'd known there was an alternative breakfast option <1 min walk away we'd probably not have bothered.

Cheap budget friendly hotel, rooms basic but lovely. Advertised soundproofing doesn’t work. That alongside the very inconsiderate guests it seems to attract. The two nights I stayed I encountered two middle of the night loud parties, one which sounded violent and left me feeling vulnerable. Oh and the food was basic but I wouldn’t recommend since most of mine didn’t stay in my stomach for long. Def will not be returning, I actually like to sleep through the night.

It was clean, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was great, multiple options to suit need and the staff were quick at replenishing the foods. Would definitely recommend!

If you’re in or around Barnsley it’s ideal for a night or two. Drops a star because there is no air con or temperature control (bar a window which opens out to the motorway) in the room I was allocated, though I assume more expensive rooms do have it. Staff helpful and polite. Breakfast is as expected and they ensure it is topped up. Environment feels safe. There’s a shop 5 mins walk away plus the Toby carvery next door. Hotel works particularly well for workers needing a night or two

Unfortunately I decided to stay in the Ibis Styles Barnsley on a Saturday & Sunday night whilst setting up my HIFI in a room in the Holiday Inn nearby. £152 for the two nights room only. Really noisy Aircon fan made me have restless fist night - up at 5 shave& shower as awake anyway. Sunday night even worse @11pm as room key not working with risotto in hand on third floor- ate yuk food on the stairwell!! Got keycard changed, crashed out exhausted for an hour, woke at 1am with Aircon noise worse. Demanded a room move so got a liitle sleep in a room two floors below. Cleared my room @ 6.30 and asked for refund. Manager refunded Sunday night (cheapest) £56 !! NEVER stay in an IBIS again!!

We had a last minute booking at this hotel. What made our experience stand out was amazing fantastic time in the bar area around the pool table. We had a lovely bar maid Harriet who kept us engaged very well with conversation which lead to a great experience within the hotel. A little advice would be to have a juke box and more staff like Harriet. Amazing hospitality. Amber was the underdog of the show that kept the place smiling and happy. If we have chance to visit Barnsley again I will endeavour come back to have a great evening entertainment at the bar with the amazing staff you have. You should be proud to have such staff that Excel the image of your company... Well done team ibis

The room was reasonably clean, but tired looking. The liquid soap was nice smelling, and there was shampoo, but no conditioner. The bed was comfortable and extra pillows available but the duvet too lightweight for me. In the morning the sheet had come away from the bed revealing brown staining on the mattress topper. There was a loud humming noise all night as if from a big Aircon unit or something. There was no info in the room about the breakfast or serving times etc. disappointed to find no room service. No water for the kettle and only tea or instant coffee no real coffee available anyway. The blackout curtains were effective. The key card didn't work very well to open the door. There was no receptionist in the morning when we left so couldn't inform of these things, and didn't know where to put the key card so had to just leave on the reception desk.

As far as comfort is concerned, bed was too hard and pillows were too firm to be called comfortable. There was no wardrobe and ironing facilities are restricted to a room on different floor. One has to take all the clothes down to iron and come back upstairs which was very inconvenient. There was no fridge in the room. Food choices on the menu for dinner were not available and whichever was available were not cooked and I had to ask for another one. Overall it was a very substandard stay which is heavily overpriced.

We have stayed in the ibis in Dodworth in several occasions now and we will always continue to. The reception team are super helpful, polite and professional and make us welcome. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and the facilities suit our needs very well. Although we generally stay without breakfast I have never heard anything negative about the food. It is a really lovely hotel to stay at! See you all on the 3rd of November!

Room ok, limited wardrobe/hanging space. Beds very comfortable. Most staff very friendly and helpful. Limited amounts of staff at certain times meant long waits either at reception to book in or at the bar to make purchases. Very limited 24/7 menu options prevented us from using this service and then we had to wait until restaurant opened to access ful menu... We got locked out of our room due to key not opening door, and despite our disabilities had to go up and down in lift three times to get it resolved... a member of staff eventually came up, inserted her key then told us battery was low... what ever that meant as she didn't elaborate.

Those of you who have a drink and food allowance from your company beware of the ludicrous policy the management have dreamed up to make this as awkward and embarrassing for you! As I sat down for my evening meal, the lady taking the orders even told me she knew of my meal allowance and took my order, I had to sign a pad for it….fair enough. The problems begin when you fancy something else, or in my case a soft drink, the lady who had previously served me and knew of my allowance flatly refused, saying its to stop any overspend, this despite her knowing I had at least half of my allowance left. This is taking paranoia of dine and dash to a whole new level, I stop away extensively and if I do over my allowance, 99.99% of the time you pay on check out. I had the humiliating experience of having to drag the person from the front desk over to the bar to confirm I still had money left in my allowance, like I say, ludicrous. How to lose custom, we have a new project starting literally 10 mins down the road, and our company feed back email about this hotel I will inform them of this, I doubt they will use it again. Management…….you need replacing!

First time in an IBIS, and very impressed!! I'm putting 9.8 out of 10, as no USB charging. However that could be USB or USB-C now, so you can't win and that's a bit tight. What went well for the 9.8? I spoke with the evening reception, night porter, breakfast chef and manager, just chatting. All of them were happy, smiles, and accommodating. I woke in the night, without mentioning safety, I was able to get some fresh air and back in again, Very gentle. The place is spotless. And whilst I was on the M1 side, 3rd floor. Danger zone of those noises, the double glazing sorted it. No problems with noise. Had a really good breakfast at 9am, quite late for many and still freshly cooked. First time in an IBIS, will go again.

Scrupulously.clean but my oh my what a noisy location. You would think the developers would have spent a little more on soundproofing. Listen to that road noise in my video with windows closed and vents closed too. I needed to book a different hotel the daytime after my visit so I could get some sleep!! Staff also had attitude and looked fed up to a person.

Whilst this location is well placed and the staff are are friendly and helpful, the equipment in the rooms needs an overhaul. In my party both rooms had extractor fans that didn't work, and toilets that just about worked. Beds are somewhat subjective, but at this Ibis the beds were distinctly budget in their comfort, and would benefit from a bit more being spent on them. Despite the aforementioned points, car parking was excellent, the bathroom was great. Use of the BP Pulse EV chargers does require you to put your reg details in first at the Toby.

When we arrived the room was really hot. The radiator was on full blast. When the window was opened the passing traffic on the M1 was loud. We tried to sleep with the window closed but even with the radiator turned off the room was too hot for us to sleep. However the room was nice and clean and the staff we met were lovely. There was plenty of parking and being so close to the M1 was handy.
