Visit chestnut tree atleast 3 times a week, curry Wednesday, Saturday with children and Sunday for the roasts 😍🥰 Amazing food, friendly staff an reasonable prices. Won't eat anywhere else, myself an my dad have become part of the furniture we are there so often 😂😅 xx

We haven't been for a while and in that time it's gone down hill. It was filthy. The cutlery was filthy. The carpet was covered in food. Under the table was disgusting. The bench seats were ripped to shreds. Foam coming out all over. The place is in need of refurbishment and at least a damn good clean

Was visiting the area so decided to try here for food. There were screaming kids throughout the meal. Service was slow, took over 30mins for our food to arrive. We were told The wacky warehouse was closed despite there being kids and people in there.

Emma went above and beyond for us today really made the visit great. The food was hot and all came together I had an issue with my steak as it was a little under how I liked it Emma went straight away and made sure I was satisfied and brought fresh fries with my re done steak... Have been many times to the Chestnut Tree and today as always the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Our food was served by Emma who was cheerful and made sure we were happy with our food and service.

It was as grim as expected unfortunately. The food pretty average but you can’t expect much more from this genre. The whole atmosphere was led by the multitude of tables of parents getting drunk and swearing in front of their kids and eveyone else. Would never return. I imagine it becomes quite hostile post 5pm. .

Emma was attentive, friendly and always on hand if we needed something! The food was first class and decently priced. Atmosphere was fab! We were within a quieter area of the pub however there are areas if people want lively atmosphere. All Round 10/10

Food was great, service was good, tables were slow to be cleaned though and it wasn't too busy. Staff were friendly and the kids liked the play area.

I was a little disappointed that I felt the place needed a bit of a refurbishment, Most of the staff could do with cheering up which was quite ironic with the signage while leaving said would like you to leave with a smile !! Maybe the staff could do the same ?? (Not all staff) I've been to many of Green kings pubs for easy meeting points to see friends and family and I do think this one has been the worst mainly the miserable staff faces . Food as always great value for money. Sorry ..

Food came out cold, items missing, up on been told staff were useless, received kid size portions of the adults menu and would not recommend.

Came to this place for a Sunday meal it was horrendous our food came out cold and when we told the staff and the problems with the food they was rude about it there was missing food and portion sizes was incredible small. Would never come back again

We booked the mezzanine for a private party and it was fantastic, the service was excellent all evening. Several people used the app to order and others went to the bar, everyone’s food all came out together which was brilliant. The portions and prices were brilliant and everyone enjoyed their meals, no issues at all which is rare in most places with a large party. Some of us used the app to order drinks and the table service for them was much appreciated. Highly recommended.

Don’t go for a Sunday roast it’s a sprinkle of veg and taty. Wouldn’t have ordered this if I’d have seen how it looked before. Could also tell staff waited till I went for a wee to do check backs as it was written all over my face. Probs good for a burger but if it’s Sunday dinner you’re after, better off with a tv dinner

Wow what an absolute let down. Booked the private area upstairs for my grandmothers 80th birthday, spent a lot of time doing up the balloons etc. Everyone arrived and got sat down to be told that food wasn’t being served. JOKE and embarrassing. Won’t be coming again.

Called in on a Friday morning. Not too busy. Buy one get one free burger day. 4 burger, 1 chicken wings and drinks just over £30. Pleasant atmosphere. Have been before and will go again. Pleasant atmosphere. Children's area / play area. Plenty of parking.

They claim to do gluten free but they just leave everything off the plate including dairy which doesn't contain gluten. It was more of a free from everything plate. Including taste.

Absolute pleasure to visit. Phoebe behind the bar went above and beyond while taking my order to make sure everything I needed was catered for. Katie and Sarah endured our food came in a timely manor and at a perfect temp with nothing but professionalism and kindness. Had a slight Gravy issue, bit thick for our liking but was replaced without issue. Thank you guys. Will be back!

Fantastic morning for breakfast with Santa, what amazing staff, so warm and welcoming, kids got to make reindeer food, also activities with the staff before meeting Santa. Great breakfast, then into wacky for a play time.thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Overpriced half measured drinks. Microwaved rock hard food. Long wait. Disinterested staff. Will never enter a Hungry Horse again.

Been here twice for Sunday lunch and both times it was cold and seemed ready made. We sent one plate back as it wasn’t hot enough to eat. When it came back, I expected a fresh meal. The same plate returned merely microwaved. Meals other than Sunday lunch are really nice. Also on both occasions, had to ask for more gravy as the little gravy boat isn’t enough.

BOGOF burger night (Friday) is a particular favourite and the lamb kofta is really nice as well (new to the menu). Haven't had a bad meal whatever I've ordered. Dog friendly in a certain area 👍

We have been coming to the Chestnut Tree for years. It never lets us down. The food is nice, the staff are friendly, they always have the football on over the weekend. There's always some great new options on the menu. I would thoroughly recommend this pub.
