Ian's Wee Cafe in Midlothian

Okay for a quick bite the price reflects the quality. Typical version of a greasy spoon. The smell of grease sticks to you if you’re ordering to take away best to wait outside.

Stopped by Ian’s Wee Cafe for brunch today and was delighted to find they cater for vegans and I opted for the vegan breakfast. They have a variety of vegan choices for breakfast and it was great to be able to choose things like vegan black pudding which isn’t that common on most menus. They also had vegan haggis and sausage. I really like this place. The owners were lovely and very accommodating. For instance they are happy to do breakfast orders any time of day. Prices are extremely reasonably. I’ll definitely be back!

You need outside catering? Well you need to go here? Something specific you want? Jam sandwiches? Something with prawns? No cheese? They’ve got you covered. A beautiful hot or cold platter, fruit skewers, scones, brownies? It’s all there. I cannot recommend more for your next get together or party. SO accommodating, helpful and well priced. Will be back and will be recommending!.

This was a just eat review as I have visited - but this time as its local to me and I have power outage and I am at work remotely. I hoped to not have an hour late wait and yes would have liked warm food but got nope not warm food and you asked for a review so here it is - kiddy portions of cold fries and cold mac and cheese so cold no condensation started is unacceptable and you dropped the ball. And now your day is over as I noticed you close early. So note to self never order on a Friday.

Freshly made bacon cheese burgers n fries. Really nice taste. Have used them for delivery too and its a grest cafe. make a signature burger please.

Lovely waitstaff and service. They were accommodating and had delicious food! Would go back there again. Good prices too!

Got a cheese toastie worst thing if ever seen it was soggy bread with melted butter for the price of it to wasn’t worth a single penny and the size of the chips portion for the money chips are oily and like they have been re cooked won’t be back ever

Was driving to a meeting and spotted their sign on the main road. Great little find. I was hankering for a bacon roll and it did not disappoint! Friendly service and prices were very cheap. Will definitely be detouring via again for another bacon roll.

Great new cafe was served with fantastic food, great prices and such lovely staff. I had the cheese burger and my son had a lunch bag. Excellent value for money. Seems that the locals are regulars and the staff were so welcoming.

Ohhhh dear how can you possibly go wrong with a bacon roll??? Sadly you did. The bacon had been already cooked and reheat. It was awful. Cheap bacon & even cheaper rolls. The cakes looked as though they were from the day before. Just didn’t enjoy at all
