It's a pity that this, once favourite, place to eat has resorted to scamming its customers. The business has ceased trading. Yet you can still place an order from the website, pay for it (funny that 🤔) and then have it's status immediately change to 'closed' upon receipt of your money. The telephone number for Kimono just rings out and the new sushi business trading from the exact same address uses ignorance to bypass what is obviously an incredibly underhand way of taking funds from unsuspecting patrons. Its fraudulent. No confirmation email. No food. No way of contacting anyone from either business. I would avoid HiTokyo, the 'new' restaurant too, that's based on my experience of trying to resolve the issue. Just dreadful. Zero stars.

Dreadful service, no card machine and expected to walk 10 mins to a cash point and over 50 minutes wait just for a salad. Worst restaurant I’ve been to in a long time

I've visited Isushi a few times now. Though the service is somewhat lacking, the food is consistently delicious. During my most recent visit on Friday 15 July, I had the soft shell crab and a mixture of sushi dishes. I particularly liked the spicy tuna maki. All were absolutely delicious and fairly priced. The dishes are accompanied by a generous side of soy sauce and wasabi, plus some pickled ginger. Decor is a little retro but nice all the same. I would have rated them five stars, but as above, the service is a little slow and the staff aren't all that attentive. Also, I find the offer of bank transfer instead of a card transaction a bit bizarre.

Really delicious food. Have been here many times and came with my boyfriend this time. I will come again!

I live in london and have been to many japanese restaurants. On a trip to wolverhampton I googled sushi and come to this restaurant. One of the best sushi's I ever had. I can't believe that this restaurant doesn't have any branches in London! My experience is 6 out or 5.

Ordered 4 sushi dishes over the phone for collection. No avocado in any of them and the cucumber in the sushi was dry and dark green ...towards black. Called them to complain as to why none of them have avocado. The reply was they were out of avocado! Felt so cheated, was speechless. Just said next time you order we’ll give you a free one!! No card payment on collections so had to go remove money from cash machine and return. Disappointed by the service, not sure if the management has changed! Never going back. Not recommending.

So disappointed first time ordering and food was awful. Tasteless. Went straight in the bin. Won’t be ordering again. What an absolute waste of £35!

Amazing noodles. Were passing by in the car and craving noodles. With places closed because of the virus, this place pops up on my search. Amazing people who work there, and omg, the food 😍😍😍 our crave was fed and we're so happy. Wish I took a photo, but it's all in my tummy 😉😉

I was craving Japanese food all day today, so I decided to ring up the restaurant to see if they were taking orders to collect as I live too far for delivery... The lady who I spoke too was so helpful! I’d ordered the Classic Salmon Box (although I was torn between this and the Salmon Cheese rolls, I was pleasantly surprised when the lady had adapted the box to fit in some of those too on the house!), Lolly Spicy Chicken Wings, Chicken Yakitori, Chive Shrimp Gyozas (my favourite!), Miso Soup (as I’d never tried before, however it’s too much of a sophisticated taste for me), Seafood ramen and a few bubble teas along with grape juice and a pear juice (which was recommend by the lady I spoke too and it went down a treat!) The amount of food I had ordered was shared between three people, including myself, and all three of us really enjoyed the selection of high quality, yummy items. The food is worth every penny, if not more! Also the service I'd received today was great! Nothing was too much of a fuss for the lady who took my order, even with me being uncertain on some items to order the lady gave great suggestions and even explained parts of the menu to me and where I could find certain things online, which made me ordering so much easier. I will definitely be returning to Isushi Wolverhampton, as I think I’ve just found my favourite Japanese Cuisine in the local area and even out of all the ones in Birmingham too!

Have visited isushi a fee times now and the food is always really tasty. Had the bottomless buffet (which they only serve on Sunday I think), this is excellent value for money at £19.80 per person, portions are great and the choice is fabulaous. Personal favourite is the chicken gyoza which are some of the best I've had. Have also eaten from the a la carte menu previously and again, all the items are tasty and freshly made. Due to the food being made to order, service can be a little slow but it is worth the wait! Lovely staff too.

Ate here 22/11/19. Sushi was very good. They also do cooked sushi which is not raw never really seen this before and was really tasty. Staff were friendly and service was good. Food 5*. service 5* great all around.

We have waited for 30 min for little pieces of sushis roll, this is expansive for what it is. We had a bad experience in this restaurant. She was alone to serve 12 people. What a shame !

Good food - 4 star. Friendly staff and quick service. Clean facilities, but restaurant was not busy. Halal advertised at entrance- 1 extra star! Menu card seems a bit dated.

What a fantastic little place this is! Booked up as a treat for the family as we go to Japan in a months time and wanted to try some of the cuisine. We reserved a table for 7 people, but on arrival, we were the first there and got the impression they weren't actually expecting us (it had been 2 or 3 weeks since we reserved), but no one else was there so was seated quickly. The male who welcomed us moved in to the kitchen I presume and a girl came out to go through the menus etc with us. She went through the Sunday buffet menu and it was a no brainer for our party of 7 as we could try lots of different things. Everything was explained well, told to order in fairly small quantities so we could sample lots of different things and if we enjoyed them we could order more of what we liked/wanted. Between the 7 of us we managed to sample everything we hoped to and ordered lots of things that really tickled our taste buds. The girl serving us was extremely helpful, friendly and encouraging and was an absolute superstar! A credit to to the place and other restaurants should take note about how to deal with customers! The food was well cooked, well presented very tasty! We had plenty of Japanese beers, non alcoholic drinks for the kids and Sake to finish off. All in all, a brilliant experience and we would definitely return again in the future, especially on a Sunday for the buffet menu!!! For what we paid, an absolute bargain and a fantastic find!

Absolutely cracking sushi. I had the essential box and spider crab a temaki. Everything tasted fresh and the flavours were excellent.

Great staff, very good Sushi. What's not to like? Maybe needs to add a few further touches for example ginger, wasabi. But it's made by authentic chefs, the cooking is quality and most importantly of all, 100% better than the 'other' Sushi joint in Wolverhampton.

Pretty good sushi and a decent selection. The octopus kara age was a little too chewy and would really benefit being served with Japanese mayo or sweet and sour sauce, overall though the food is delicious and the staff are attentive. Will definitely visit again.

Went for lunch as recommended and was very happy. I am not a conosur when it comes to Japanese food the staff were excellent and made great recommendations. People often complain Wolverhampton has little to offer. This place is a little gem well worth keeping

Tonight, we spend our evening eating the best Japanese food in West Midlands!!! Fantastic service, staff was really nice and professional. It was my first time, and I was amazed with all the details!!! I’m sure, we will be back soon!!!

We live in Stafford and we don’t have a sushi place there. Searched for a restaurant nearby and this one had excellent reviews. I can see now exactly why! The food was top notch and we had some pretty good recommendations. I think you wouldn’t look at the place twice if you were walking down the road but my god the food is fantastic! The service was exceptionally good as well. All the guys there but specially Sarah (thank you!) . I can’t wait to come back.

Ate there several times...ramen and sushi-brilliant,ordered food from there too...everything was excellent till tonight. I’m guessing if you eating in,they treat you different,but take away food (or delivery one) got treated without respect (or so) if I’m ordering something to have in or taking away,I expect it to come as it’s written on the menu!!! My tofu salad didn’t get any asparagus,replaced with avocado I can’t complain...but I ordered Singapore Rice Noodles also with eggs,chicken,pork,mushrooms and prawns...three prawns,no egg,no mushroom,no pork. Person on the phone,when I called to talk about my order (as was shown as delayed a lot) rude... come on guys,as im paying £2 for delivery I expect my order at least to come with ingredients shown on the menu!

The service at the restaurant was good, friendly staff and the chinese lady owner was very helpful in advising the various dishes.

After leaving work one night I noticed this lovely little place whilst stuck in traffic, I thought to myself with our 5 year anniversary coming up it’ll be a lovely place to take my wife... I booked tickets at the grand theatre and booked a table at the amazing restaurant. While booking my table I informed the manager it was a special occasion, which he replied we have a lovely privacy booth for you, I’ll light some candles and set the scene for a nice romantic evening.... on arriving the manager made a fuss of us sat us down in a lovely corner of the restaurant surrounded with authentic Chinese and Japanese decor, flours and lit candles... after looking at the menu the waiter came over to take our order, a short wait after our starters arrived followed by our mains, the food was amazing cooked perfectly. with my recent business trips to China and Japan I know it is authentic food and way of cooking.... honestly this place went above and beyond for me and my wife to make us feel comfortable and to ensure we had a anniversary we’ll never forget.

Went to this restaurant for a family meal for a special occasion and I was very happy with my visit the staff was very friendly and welcoming, we have never tried a sushi bar before so we didn't really know what to go for. We asked for recommendations,which we went for the soft shell crab and the curry laksa, which was the best option.I will be recommending this restaurant to all my friends and family and will definitely be going again

food was undercooked and manager was rude, blamed the low quality of food on how busy it is on a Saturday night. don’t open a restaurant if you can’t handle a busy weekend. better yet don’t tell the customer their wrong when food is clearly undercooked and missing ingredients.

We decided to check out I Sushi as there aren’t many places for sushi and Japanese food in Wolverhampton. The service was great and very friendly, and our server made a few recommendations for side dishes that we’re glad we took! The food is excellent, well cooked and very healthy; I’d happily recommend both the katsu curry and the ramen. The sushi was also very tasty.

Had a fantastic experience. The food was great, my favourite was the tempura prawns which were cooked perfectly. Felt at home as soon as I came in and was given some great recommendations of what to order. Will definitely be returning.

We really enjoyed eating there. We had sushi and noodles. All plates were equally nice. For dessert we tried the Japanese ice cream with different flavours, it was refreshing and original. The owner was nice and played a lot with our son.

Had ordered takeout from here before and was impressed so decided to visit for a midweek tea. The staff are super friendly and were dealt with quickly. We ordered 2 beers, tempura, duck dumplings, teriyaki duck and a katsu curry, came to £33. The food here is amazing! Soo tasty, its the best Japanese place in town without a doubt! The place is really authentic...having been to Japan, this is just like a ramen bar you'd find out there, its great. We will defo be back!

We had booked our tableso it was ready for us. By the door and window, in the summer I would imagine lovely, in the winter it was cold.

A lovely experience of freshly cooked authentic Japanese food served by attentative staff in relaxing surroundings...especially enjoyed the soft shelled crab..taste explosions on tongue. Wish I lived local this would be my favourite eatery.

Went to I Sushi 14/1/19 and had a great experience. Helpful staff and the food was excellent. Fish very fresh and the soft crab starter was fantastic too. Will be eating here again no doubt.

I'd been meaning to try Isushi for a while so went with my brother last week. For Japanese we usually go to Wagamama in Birmingham, but this place will save us the journey!

I love it here, the food is amazing every time and is always freshly made. The tastes are brilliant. I'd never tasted Japanese dishes before coming here and I am so glad this was the first place I tried.

Lovely food, the sushi is delicious. Unfortunately it does take a while to get served if you go in around 12pm as it can get busy.

Visited here tonight for the first time and it definitely won't be my last. Varied menu with lots of different things to try. Food was great, tasty and fresh. My deep fried king prawn sushi was delicious. However, the star if this restaurant is Sarah, the warm, friendly, efficient and hard working waitress. I can't wait to go back again.

This was a last minute booking for a birthday meal with family. We didn’t want to travel into Birmingham for decent food and tried this place.

Saw this place while sat in the traffic on the way home. Decided to try it and I’m so glad we did.

Quality Food, really easy online service, as well as table service. Sushi is second to none. Although other dishes are also nice. Try salt & pepper squid or tori gyoza - they are really nice starters. If you go for Rainbow Maki or Unagi Maki - you will never miss.

Lovely evening when visiting with friends. Everything was top notch. The friendly and professional staff, the nice clean surroundings and the really gorgeous food. I thoroughly enjoyed every element of the evening and cannot wait to return.

Since I tried that restaurant with my friends, as erasmus students we immediately felt like home and we came back every Thurday night from September to May. Sara and her husband are lovely and the food is delicious. If I come back to Wolverhampton I'll go back there!

We like sushi but have only tried it in a restaurant once before. We found this place from the reviews and it has to be said the reviews are all spot on! Amazing food. The tempura prawns and soft shell crab stunning as was the banana fritter. Also the best noodles I have ever had!

It's the second time I have eaten here and both times the quality of the food has been absolutely first class . calamari, prawn tempura, Japanese curry and a course some sushi rolls with smoked salmon delicious!!! This place is definitely one you must try.

Our usual sushi restaurant was shut for training, so we decided to search for other sushi restaurants in the area.

We drop after visiting the dogs home, and pretty much ended up ordering a second round of food as the taste was so well balanced and the quality of the ingredients is very good. Also the staff are very friendly and take the time to greet and welcome you to their establishment.

A must visit for foodies that love japanese cuisine. Food was so fresh and tasty, unlike any other "japanese" or east asiatic cuisine restaurant in the UK. Staff was very welcoming and cheerful, they can literally make your day. Prices are not bad either, not overly expensive and cheap enough for a normal night out between friends. Definitely worth it !

Staying in Wolverhampton on business and this restaurant has become a fast favourite. The food is of great standard; always fresh and presented really well. We ordered food for takeaway and it came early- they rang beforehand to apologise it coming early which I thought was very nice of them. Delivery man was very friendly. Food lovely and hot and not greasy- was just the right amount. The edamame starter is amazing! Will order again x

My husband has never been keen to try Japanese food, but finallly talked him into it, and my, he hasn't looked back! We arrived early on a Thursday evening and were already a quite busy, however, we were seated immediately and menus given to us. The lady that greeted us was super friendly and was really helpful explaining the menu items to us and also the health benefits too, which was useful. I was tempted to try everything but settled on the shared starter of the mixed Tempura starter, which was absolutley outstanding, then hubby had the Tori Katsu curry and I had the Beef Chilli and Black Bean Lo Mein. you can have either noodles or rice. Hubby said they were the best noodles he's ever eaten, but tbh both dishes were outstandingly good. We will definately be regulars here now and just so glad we found it.......eventually!! Total bill with 2 soft drinks 27 pound! fab value. Try it and surprise yourself.

I used to popin the old Jay's cafe from time to time, but this place is now transformed into the most incredible sushi and noodle bar around. You cannot beat their soft-shelled crab and all the food is deliciously cooked and served speedily. A most delughtful experience.

The food is amazing here and I also loved the personal touch the frienldy conversation. I have had a little sushi before but all were nothing compared to my experience here. Especially the tempuras

Ordered for takeaway, the sushi was so fresh and up there with the best sushi I’ve had in the UK. The front of house are extremely friendly and helpful, I’ll definitely be back! Thanks for a great meal!

Been to the restautant twice now , once for take away once to eat in. Staff are amazing , so welcoming and friendly, cannot do enough for you. Food is out of this world vegetarian and meat alike . Everybody welcome , such a laid back atmosphere. Definitely regulars now. Been waiting for a sushi restaurant/take away for many years. Its a must go to place :)

Came in here with my fiance and my 9 month old daughter. The hospitality was incredible and spared no effort in making sure we and the baby were comfortably seated. The service was also top notch. Tried some foods I wouldn't normally eat and the tori katsu curry (recommended by I sushi). Easily some of the best food I have ever eaten and I will definitely be eating here again. 100% recommend.

The Best ever sushi and noodles we had in the UK!! I have travelled over an hour just for this food. We had it once before and now we are the biggest fan. If i coud give 100 stats I would:) the noodles are hand made and fresh and the sushi better than anywhere in UK. LUV IT, Must try :)

We came here for my birthday, the staff had put some balloons out for when we arrived so immediately felt very welcome. The service throughout the meal was outstanding, very friendly and informative, helping us choose what to have, explaining what some of the dishes were and giving their recommendations. The food was amazing, we all tried a bit of each other's dishes and every dish was full of flavour. Will definitely be returning :)

All dishes are delicious, I have tried the sushi, fresh as it can get and their noodles are totally fresh!! Wow finally a fine cousin Resturant in Town. Keep up the good work guys. 6 Stars

The food is amazing. The host is very welcoming and the atmosphere is great. Loved going there with all my family. They make the most amazing sushi 🍣 and there is a wide variety on the menu.. definitely recommend
