Hussey's Fish and Chips in East Lindsey

Visited Skegness for part of the day, 4 adults and 16 month old, ordered fish & chips deal for 2 plus sausage & chips for 2, good deal, staff very welcoming and friendly, food excellent and good value. Restaurant clean, fresh & tidy. Well worth a visit, thank you.

No dogs allowed since our last visit Oct 2023 , not happy 😢

A lovely place for food. Comfy seats, good child seats. Employees were friendly. Food very quick and good quality and hot. Also decent price!

Maybe their fish and chips are better? Ordered a new York burger from the menu it sounded really nice. Waited half hour for it more like a burger van burger and poor at that. So dry as well as the the chips worst meal iv ever had.

Had a special fish and chips and two sausage and chips here with a large coke and came to £26.05, quite dear for skegness. Was a wet day it kept us warm and dry but it's one of these places that has no prices outside should have known

Very disappointed have eaten here a few times as dogs were welcome, but today dispite place being empty no longer accept dogs. Obviously don't need the custom. Plenty of other places to eat that welcome dogs.

Had spam fritter chips peas and curry sauce the husband had the chip shop platter. The fish is skin on so is much tastier than the places that serve skinless fish. Spam fritter was very tasty everything was very good the interior of the place has had a very nice upgrade since it was clock tower and the staff were lovely and friendly. Will deffinately be eating here again.😃

Never been in before, popped in for lunch. Lovely place, but found service quite slow. Around 30 minutes until we got our drinks, and it wasn't overly busy when we arrived. When the food came, it was delicious and very good sized portions

Best fish and chips in Skegness!

Food was lovely although the takeaway portion s were a little small particularly the sausages.. chips weren't greasy as some can beand small fish was very nice.. Quite a long wait even though there wasn't many people in. No rush to collect order from counter when shouted ready..

Would not reccomend. The batter on my regular cod was completely over done, there was hardly any fish inside and what was there was dried to the skin/batter from being over cooked. Chips were okay but had better. The only nice touch was the childrens meal being served in a bucket and spade.

Great place to eat. Food is excellent.

The rump steak was bland and fatty and the plaice was also bland and hardly any fish expensive for what it is

Had a look at other reviews for this shop and was a bit surprised. We’ve always eaten fish and chips here and it’s first class.

Very expensive, very few chips and poor quality sausages £12.55 for two sausages, chips and a Coke!!!

Always just this place when we come to Skegness

Went to hussey today ordered beef burger it wasn’t cooked and our other friends had stoned cold chips wouldn’t recommend this restaurant

Lovely fish and chip shop along the seafront , ate here twice during our stay at Skegness, serves alcohol should you fancy a beverage, also tea coffee hot chocolate and fizzy drinks, kids meals come with bucket and spade , which the children especially enjoyed , highly recommend, any issues with food are quickly rectified by management

We went for breakfast. The staff were lovely. The food was a nice traditional breakfast great for all the family

Sat there for 30 minutes, do appreciate busy time of year! Granddaughter enjoyed her chips and gravy, we shared chips supposedly large fish, chips and peas, fish! Awful! Peas dry, staff only seemed interested in people eating in! Lots of people ignored waiting for take outs!

Breakfast brunch was very expensive, the sausages had gristle lumps in, the bacon was far undercooked and the latte was very small not sure I would return

It was really busy in Skegness with queues everywhere. We crossed the main road and went to Husseys as there was a very short queue. We were seated promptly and served drinks. When our fish and chips arrived we both agreed it was the nicest fish we had ever had. The fish was lovely and fresh and the batter light and airy. The waitress was very polite and efficient.

Worst fish shop in Skegness we were made to eat outside in the cold chips were raw and fish swimming in fat sent them back and got nothing but attitude from everyone avoid at all costs go to the one on the pier so much better

Waiting a long time for takeaway and average fish and chips at best. Hygiene questionable as found fly cooked into chip 🤮. Portion sizes small for price.

The location is near skegness beach (good location) with welcoming staff. The food was lovely!! I would recommend the fish and chips and the hallumi fries. The hot chocolate was lovely too. The atmosphere was very sweet and cosy!!

Been here several times over the years and always enjoyed it. It's nice to have a sit down meal of fish and chips in a cosy spot with proper cutlery. The waiting times between your order being taken and the food arriving isn't that long and the food is as good as anywhere else along the seafront. Good for the price.

Gave our order to staff member, still not received our food after an hour, even others who arrived after us were receiving their meals. Could do with a wipe down, bugs in the window ledges 🤦 ended up walking out

Clean and well set up with friendly staff and good range of options. However the food just didn't taste of anything, we had the fish special and it was really bland. A real shame as could be great.

I will never return. We went in as a family, so lots of us ordering. Due to a health condition I can’t eat a lot, they have a ‘growing kids’ menu with no age restriction stated (kids menu states 12 and under). They refused to let me order this as I have to be under 16.. doesn’t say this anywhere on the menu. Very bad attitude and didn’t even give me the chance to explain. Avoid!

Really friendly staff and the restaurant was very clean, even down to the staff wiping down the seats. It was that nice we went back and will do next time we are in the area.

Really good service and a nice view of the sea when sitting upstairs in the restaurant. However it's expensive and overpriced for the quality of food you get.

Sat in the restaurant and ordered fish and chips, ‘homemade pie’ and chips. The soggiest, most disgusting pie was delivered. clearly been microwaved. Meat was hard and dry. Wouldn’t eat it for free. Avoid this place. Trawlers catch over the road is much much better food and a lot cheaper too.

Had the worst experience here, the hash browns were missing and eggs were not on the plate, asked for them and the lady was helpful but when they came they were frozen in the middle. Other people at my table had food missing. Went to pay and they refused to take my money because it was Scottish notes. Rude supervisor Will never be back was such terrible customer service. Hope other people continue to pay with Scottish notes and leave without paying

Absolutely brilliant fish Nice crisp batter.

Good food, great staff and nice relaxed environment, the decor was a good touch it's like you're at the beach minus the sand and stones, but inside with the place decorated like little beach huts was a nice touch.

First time visiting today with my husband and daughter. The staff were very friendly and welcomed us straight away. They had a variety of gluten free options which was nice as I'm coeliac and struggle to find many places that accommodate, especially with gluten free batter. The food was nice, didn't take too long to get to us either and reasonably priced. My daughter (4yr old) had a children's meal and it came in a bucket with a little spade that she was allowed to keep, that was so nice and made my daughter so happy.

Everything were fried in stale oil portions very small. All in all i will not recommend to anyone .

Went into Husseys today, 4 adults and 1 child who is 18 months old. My child who is 18 months old is an extremely fussy eater and will ONLY eat skinny Fries so before entering Husseys we got my son some skinny Fries elsewhere. We all ordered our meals INCLUDING a full meal for my baby but we had the intention to swap the chips with the ones we brought in for him. The old blonde waitress who claims to be a manager immediately saw the takeaway box and told us 'you can't eat your own food in here' I explained to her that my son would only eat skinny fries and he is only a baby he needs to eat. She replied 'sorry no' I said to her we would all have to leave as I refuse to eat and not allow my baby to eat as he wouldn't understand why not, she said 'ok'. With so much shock and upset running through my body we all got up and left. This service was completely shocking and DISGUSTING. Not allowing a baby to eat just out of spite is quite frankly mind blowing. This woman should be named and shamed for her behaviour towards a innocent baby who was hungry.

Here for a week at the Butlins Skegness and visited the beachfront on the second day of our 4 day visit. As it's a beachfront there is plenty of options for fish and chips but we opted for the one on the corner of the main road in as surely it has to be one of the better ones?! Decor is nice, staff is very welcoming, all we needed was the food to be good. Pleasantly surprised as the food was reasonably priced, but enjoying the food was a whole other experience and it was worth it. Told the staff we will be back before we go! Food was class!!

Ordered fish and chips the fish came out jumping on my plate:( Very saddened about this as I felt bad and released it into the sea,baffled by this absolute bonkers experience! WONT be eating here AGAIN!!!:(

Absolutely gorgeous fish chips and peas with tea and bread and butter ..called in with the hubby as didn't want to eat outside and was surprised how nice it was..lovely polite staff..not waiting forever for the food to arrive..Will definitely go again

We must have gone on a bad day, the cod and chips was tiny and so thin with skin on but the battery was good. My wife's sausage and chips was fine. Was a Sunday lunchtime. Staff were pleasant

The place is good just not as good as it was. But the staff are wonderful, making sure that you have a great experience, like paying for the meal at the enclosed kiosk just like a chip shop.

The food is cooked to order, and plentiful. The staff are very pleasant. We'll definitely use again when we visit Skegness.

Went today whilst on holiday. The lady who worked there was so kind and welcoming to us. I got the chip shop platter (it's a big one be warned) partner and eldest child got battered sausage and chips and a small fish and chips for our near 2 year old. Everyone said how great the food was.... I would recommend here 100%. Nice people, nice and clean and great food at good value. If we ever come back to the area we'll be back

Me, partner and three kids all had fish and chips - was tasty and met expectations, mostly. Surprised how expensive it was for fish and chips, which is founded on being a budget meal. We could have eaten in a mid-range restaurant for less. I don't think we will bother next time.

Amazing food and good customer service

Food OK other than the rock hard bread rolls. Would have complained but no staff to complain to. Asked two waiters to order a dessert both Said give me a minute and never came back. Worse service ever.

Went to Husseys Skegness, the food was lovely and the service great. When I got home I realised id left the kids coin pot somewhere, the next day feeling a little worried and upset id lost the kids money, I went into Husseys and asked if id left it, the lady said yes she was expecting my call but i genuinely couldnt remember that I had left them there at all, honestly the lady who dealt with me was so nice, so understanding and really very honest, there are good people in the world!! They work at Husseys, Skegness So if you want a good meal, good value and honest people around you,go to Husseys you will not be disappointed Thankyou so much for the great food and for treating us with the respect you did!

We went in the Marine Boat House across the road today, as they were doing a carvery, and I've not had Sunday dinner for a while. However the woman behind the bar made it perfectly clear she didn't want to be working on a Sunday with her "bulldog chewing a wasp" face and "can't be bothered to answer questions properly" attitude - so we helped her not do some work by leaving and walking across the road to Hussey's. Boy, what a contrast !!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by one of the wait staff, who was already on her way to a table to deliver food, but made time to acknowledge our arrival. We were then immediately attended to be another very polite and accommodating member of staff who showed us to a spotlessly clean table. The food arrived in good time, was flawlessly cooked and delivered by yet another polite lady. Excellent service and excellent food, and we will definitely be eating there again next time we go to Skeggy.

Came to Husseys for some lunch after a morning in Skegness. I ordered chips and a battered sausage and my partner ordered chips and cod. Chips were beautiful, very tasty and possibly best chips I’ve had from a chip shop however the sausage was soggy and felt like it could have been cooked for longer. My partners cod was slimy mushy and the batter wasn’t crispy. Beautiful chips and friendly staff but would only return again if I was only having chips.

If you come to Skegness and want to eat here, if there's there's a chance there's going to be more than yourself in the restaurant, ensure you order a day in advance and it will be ready on your arrival. On the plus side at least the food was hot!

For a bitterly cold day this was an awesome place to visit to get fed, watered and warmed. The food was hot and more than enough to fill you up. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the beach hut theme..

Fish , battered sausage, chip could have done staying in the fryer alot longer, the fish batter was soft and had no bite to it what so ever. Curry sauce was amazing

Food was excellent. Place was clean and well kept. Staff were friendly and well accommodating had no issues with our request to sit in one of the booths when they showed us to our original table.

Food was horrible chips were Luke warm fish small and thin,shall stick to papas next time,it's a cross the road eat in or eat out at least papas was cheaper.

Went for a dinner as a family, good service, nice friendly staff. When the very reasonably priced meals arrived they looked a little small however everybody left feeling full! Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Just visited your Restaurant and we ordered 2 main meals of fish chips peas tea Bread and Butter chips spam fritters and curry sauce only waited 10mins before food came was hot well presented and a nice clean place reasonably priced will visit again next time when in town 😃👍

Fish and chips were excellent as was the service.

Service was slow, portions were small and food bland The fish was very greasy and had the skin on. Only nice thing was the tiny bucket and spade with children's meals.

Fish was in a very light batter and cooked to order. The chips were delicious too. This place never disappoints.

I came to eat here as the other chip shops were very busy. There were 20 of us eating so we were fortunate to find a restaurant that could accommodate all of us (5 families) together. The service was good, the fish could have been a little more crispier but the chips were nice. I did think the bill was quite high priced for a large fish and chips, small chips and curry sauce, and a milk. This all came to over £30.
