Had the worst experience at the huntsman tonight had curry and chips it was disgusting I told the lady behind the bar who seemed to look like the boss but she was not interested at all which I was taken aback so will not go back again and will tell my friends not to go there you should give your staff a talking to to make sure there customers are looked after

Decided to have a last-minute Sunday lunch out and thought we'd try The Huntsman as we'd heard good things from friends. I'm so glad we did as it was exceptional - roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, roast parsnips, cauliflower cheese, 5 types of vegetable and gravy. Everything was incredibly tasty and had been seasoned and cooked well. Pudding was also delicious and we were delighted with the final bill - £12.50 a head for 2 courses, amazing value. I've decided to give up on cooking roasts at home and will just visit the Huntsman instead. I'd highly recommend it for Sunday lunch.

This is the second takeaway curry we have had during lockdown and I've got to say, yet again, the best curry I (we) have ever tasted. Portions are very generous and the chips are also amazing. Thank you to all at The Huntsman for keeping us supplied with your delicious takeaways during this awful time.

During lockdown we have had 3 takeaways from the pub. The food has been tasty and hot each time. Excellent communication and customer service, and I especially recommend the curry and the Sunday lunch - the gravy is delish! Went here today for our Christmas dinner and had an excellent home-cooked meal. Between the efficient and friendly staff and a warm fire, we had a lovely welcome and I would recommend the Huntsman to others. A proper village local, the likes of which are disappearing all too quickly.

Turned up here on Saturday evening having booked a table and having had a reply. We were amazed to be told. No food as they had no chef. All of the locals seemed to think it was a huge joke. We, two couples, went for Sunday lunch, what a pleasant surprise, having not been there for a couple of years, we found the huntsman clean, cosy, warm,( lovely log burner) . Our lunch was delicious. Three had beef and one had chicken, huge home made yorkshires, broccoli, roasties, mash, cauli, carrots, red cabbage, and leeks in a lush cheese sauce. Loads,of it too. Followed by lovely apple pie and custard, all was cooked perfectly, not al dente ,not soggy. Well done . Pity I work most Sundays but definitely going to leave early some Sundays and go again. Also going to try an evening menu. staff were friendly and helpful too . It's a pity they are not open some weekdays for lunch

Fantastic Sunday lunch! We initially booked this as a family lunch but were delayed at a post wedding event. We telephoned The Huntsman in Rosemarket to see if we could pick the seven roast dinners up later. They happily plated them up for us, so that we could continue at the event. When we eventually picked them up, they were very good proportions and tasted amazing!!! We will be definitely be coming back for more!

The Steak nights on Fridays are very popular and excellent value for money.. Sunday lunches are gorgeous with very generous portions at a very reasonable price.. Stepping away from the food side of the pub there is regularly good live music free of charge, great beers and lagers served by excellent friendly fun staff in an old school village pub atmosphere.. Well despite living in the quaint village of Rosemarket for nearly 6 years (where this country inn is located) today was the first time we decided to give their sunday lunch a try. I have to say it was the best sunday lunch out we have had in years and am gutted that we have been missing out for such a long time!! My son and I opted for the beef which was stunning, We each had 3 massive thick slices of melt in your mouth beef served with three proper roasties, 2 home made Yorkshire puddings and the best home made gravy ever! The other vegetables were brought out in dishes, all piping hot and with extra gravy in boats. My hubby opted for the turkey, 4 huge slices which was served in a similar style, with home made stuffing and he had the bonus surprise of having 2 Yorkshire puddings too! I particularly like the fact that whilst my son and I had beef gravy, my husband was given his own little boat with proper home made turkey gravy, this was a lovely touch - especially after being served transparent watery bisto gravy else where last week. The additional veg consisted of new potatoes, carrots, broccoli and cabbage. In addition to this we had a dish of creamy cheesy leeks which was simply divine and a big favorite in our home at Christmas. Service was super quick and very welcoming and non of us could fault this scrumptious home made food. My belly was well and truly stuffed after being some what over eager with the leek dish therefore i gave desert a miss. My husband and son opted for the white chocolate cheese cake, which looked absolutely beautiful and was presented stunningly with a dollop of dairy cream and a huge fresh strawberry with a stunning drizzle of sauce. They both gave 10 out of 10 for the dessert whilst my 20 year old son claimed it was the best dessert he had ever had in his life! This really was the best home made sunday lunch we have had in a long long time. The little dishes of appropriate accompanying sauces were a bonus too! Well done Huntsman staff 10 out of 10! I have already been singing your praises to friends and family who intend visiting in the near future, just keep up the excellent work!

We had been driving for an hour in search of somewhere to get a Sunday roast for our first proper holiday day when we happened upon The Huntsman. At first I was sceptical as the front didn't do much to wow and the bar seemed very much like a local social club. But when we were called through to the restaurant we (2 adults and 2 children) were massively impressed by the most delicious Sunday roast we've eaten in a long time. I've been to far pricier restaurants and not had nearly so delicious a meal. The veg was cooked beautifully (no grey beans here!) And there was a huge variety (cheesy leeks were gorgeous). We are until we were stuffed, but plan to return to check out the pudding menu!!! Very reasonable price too.

The huntsman was selected by a group I belong to as a good venue to entertain a twinning group from France, they were staying in accommodation next door, we were let down on the day of the planned meal ,extremely inconvenient ! and judging from a previous review not unique . Although I understand an alternative partner restaurant was offered, this would have been very difficult for transport for many of the parties and maybe more expensive, fortunately the evening was saved by the proprietor of The Forresters in Neyland. I ,myself have never visited The Huntsman and probably wouldn't now feel encouraged to do so , a sentiment shared with the rest of the group ,so much custom lost Huntsman.

I booked on the day about noon and during the booking I was asked for my telephone number, just in case. We couldn't believe when we turned up at the pub and were told that they have a party there and they are full. The barman wasn't apologetic, he just said he was too busy to call me and made us feel like we were not suppose to be there. Really? Overbooking people and not even thinking there's a need to inform others or apologise? I won't be booking again.

Visited for Sunday lunch and with a thirst, looking forward to a pint of real ale after a walk from Neyland. No staff in the dining room and nobody serving in the bar. Eventually someone turned up and completely ignored me! Beginning to think I had turned invisible after 15 minutes I had to insist on some service and was rudely told they were short of staff, as if that was my fault! We left, without a drink or food, not even a bag of crisps! A great pity as the food sounds good, judging from the reviews. All it takes, Huntsman, is a friendly welcome and a kind word of apology for the delay. Either that or get more staff!

Last minute decision to treat ourselves to a Sunday Lunch - A very rare treat. As soon as we walked into the bar we were made to feel very welcome by Andrew, who sorted our drinks and took our order for lunch. The choice was Beef, Lamb or pork, or a combination (Note there is a slight extra charge for more than 1 meat). Now, I am fussy and do not eat many veg at all, so I explained this and asked for some extra Roasties instead. Absolutely no problem for them whatsoever, further more Simon the Landlord came out and asked if I ate peas, which I do, so he cooked peas especially for me. Fantastic. We were taken through to the lovely little restaurant area - separate from the main bar. We had a combination of the meats and between the two of us we had all three meats. They were all good sized, good cuts of quality meat. The veg comes separately in nice side bowls. We had, Mash, peas, Carrots, leeks in cheese (which I actually really enjoyed - a first!), white cabbage and swede. On the plate were roast potatoes and yorkshire puds - (I got extra roasties and an extra yorkshire). Plenty of nice thick proper gravy to go with it all in a proper gravy boat.Dessert, choices were Citrus Cheesecake, Summer fruit trifle, Sticky toffee pud or Baileys and Ammeretti sundae. We shared a sundae, WOW! blooming gorgeous! To finish; a very nice Colombian coffee.Prices start at £8.95 per head for 1 course and desserts are £4.95This is a local village pub, taken over about 18 months ago by Simon. You really are made to feel very welcome, and they go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your visit. We will be back, Thank you very much for both the lovely food, and being so keen to ensure I enjoyed my meal. Excellent.

We were phoning around trying to find somewhere to eat (it was late on a Saturday evening) and The Huntsman came up in TripAdvisor. The satnav got us to the pub. As somebody else said the interior doesn't quite match the exterior but again, would agree with the person who said nice to see village pub being revived.Understand by the person who though it more like a canteen. We didn't. We felt it cosy and quirkily intimate. However, the real wow factor was the food.I'd rate this among the best, if not the best pub meals I've had for a long, long time. Can't fault this little place other than the inside bit where you eat doesn't match the exterior country pub appearance - the bar area is traditional pub but the eating area is a little bit "canteen" type. It is however a very friendly, clean and welcoming environment and they served good, honest proper pub grub, well prepared and served in portions that should leave you fully satisfied. The steak I had from their specials menu was excellent value.

Recommended as a place to try by friends. Clean and bright and a welcoming staff. Homemade Chicken liver pate was very good with a generous portion. Beef for main with the wife having pork. Plenty of vegetables and not boiled to death either. Beef and pork gravy not just a one fits all option. Good portions and only the glutton in me made room for the home made lemon and lime cheesecake. A great place to have a Sunday Lunch. Sofa here I come I'm stuffed.

Good food, huge portions, reasonable prices, good service. The pub is just off the Neyland to Haverfordwest part of the national bike track and great for a detour. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

we have eaten here a few times since Simon and his staff took over and the food is excellent, Sunday lunch was tremendous, huge portions, very reasonably priced, and the bread and butter pudding has returned. All the staff are friendly and very efficient, Andrew doing a great job of running the bar. Hopefully we will be there this friday for home made faggots.

Drinks were ice cold - perfect on a hot day. Small seating area outside was nice in the sunshine. Car park had lots of space to park. Excellent staff . Def worth a visit.

Moved to the village in January and discovered this absolute gem of a pub. Linda and John are friendly and welcoming. Louise cooks the most wonderful tasty food, and all of it prepared on the premises. Sunday lunch is both reasonable and very filling, the marmalade and whisky bread and butter pudding worth going off the diet for. The fish pie is one of the best I have tasted. Have taken the grandchildren there and the servings were enough to satisfy my 16 year old grandson.Visit soon before it gets very popular.

We escaped a downpour here, we weren't planning on lunch, but ordered a sausage sandwich to share and it was great. The place was packed and very busy, but we'll run. The buildings are interesting, a maze of properties joined together, with the brewery downstairs. There's also a shop and coffee shop part of Harbwr. There are many places to eat and drink in Tenby and this one should not be missed

Traditional, characterful pub owned and run by a decent man. Good local customers and selection of drinks. No food but if you want a welcome where you dont have to feel like a holidaymaker, this place is for you.
