Slimy inedible beef in beef and black bean sauce.

Shocking standard and ridiculously high price. Not at all recommended. I certainly won’t be going back. The original Hungrys is dead sadly.

£50 order and half of the order missing on delivery. Called up and after the person triple checking I was sure the order was missing things (It was missing lots of things, I am not blind) they then expected us to come and collect?? We had paid for delivery? Took another 43 minutes for them to deliver the rest of the items - they quoted us 15 minutes. Cheeky, terrible customer service

Chow mein consists of noodles and soya sauce. A couple of pieces of onion thrown in. Very poor. Drastic improvement on the recipe needed. Won't order again.

I understand the fish and chips are OK but avoid the Chinese - it's not great!

Fulfilled a giant order on a Saturday evening quickly and professionally without any missing or wrong items, food was brilliant, well priced and plentiful.

I have tried ur liver dinner and I ate 3/4of it with is good 4me as I don't eat a lot so I will be trying some more of ur meals plus ur sweet and sour meals r 2 die 4 thank u hungry from 10 abbots Dr beb

Last time I’m getting any scran from this chippy. The sweet n sour chicken was grotesque and the snp ribs were mostly fat.

Had crispy shredded beef which was chewy won’t be be coming back shame as it was great chippy years ago

Expensive chippy. I can't say you get what you pay for, either. Food is ok, I guess. You know when you look at a bag of chips and you think, "What happened here??" For the meals, I always ask the chef not to add salt. After that, the meals are quite nice. Panny the owner, is a really nice fella, always friendly and welcoming. Staff are friendly too. Fast delivery service so that's a good option.

Hard working staff and good quality food at a reasonable price. Collection is best due to a shortage of local delivery drivers, but if you order early you’re in for a hearty meal. Check out the deals on salt and pepper.

Worst Chinese I have ever had , ordered crispy chilli beef fried rice all come in one tray mushed together more.like Indian curry disgusting !! Lemon chicken with chips shoved together in same small tray cold chips.soaked of.lemon sauce never again !!!

I got a roast duck curry with fried rice I'm sorry to say but it was really bad the fried rice was awful should have been been long grain rice it looked like pudding rice .The duck curry it selve was not good it was bits off duck sliced not good at all I have been getting duck curry from hungrys for years all ways chunks of duck plenty of curry also the duck curry has been cut down in size and we also need the proper rice .I know it's new owners but you have to up your game before I buy again Len.

Ordered from here for years. Every week. This time the order was delivered stone cold. When we made a complaint. They weren’t interested. Terrible food even worse customer service

Absolutely tragic, how this place has declined in recent months is unbelievable. I accept prices need to increase to reflect the current financial climate but to sacrifice quality to the extent I have recently experienced is diabolical. Food is overpriced, undercooked, poor quality and frugal in portion size.

Order food waited 1hr 20mins still not arrived, called the store and told it would be a further 15-20mins before delivery. Not acceptable for a local chippy takeaway. Maybe if your that busy you shouldn't be taking online e orders

We have ordered a few of times for staff lunch's, and meals have been OK. However on this occasion, we had feedback to say the chips were dry, overcooked, and looked like they had been fried a few times, or old ones sitting in the bottom of the fryer, "not very nice". lots of bitty chips. Sausage was overcooked and dry. We were also given free prawn crackers, as our order was quite large, but complaints were these were "rubbery", "not fresh". There were a few "chip barms" ordered, along with meals. We found £3.90 a bit excessive as you got a very small portion of chips, just enough to fit the barm, which also was small. It would have been cheaper ordering a portion of chips for £2.90 and buying a packet of 6 barms from a shop, and making our own. Prices have increased between 50p - £1.00 since we last ordered (2 months ago).

Great chips, but the fish can be hit & miss.

Beautiful fish but loads of bad chips. Why cook bad chips? Just chuck them away. JUST BEEN IN TODAY 19TH SEPTEMEMBER 2023 AT 12.30PM. Will never set foot in here again. Warm, reheated chips. Some chips so hard you couldnt put a fork in them. Got a dam cheek selling food like this. Now feeling ill after just eating the fish. As i said NEVER AGAIN.

Chips were nice, we had a steak and kidney pie, fish and jumbo sausage. Pie was nice, but not the best. Fish was really good and I really enjoyed the sausage.

2020: Ace chip shop. Not a huge fan of the chinese meals; however, really good fish and chips. Edit 2022: been for chinese meals again recently. Either I was wrong the first time, or their loads better Edit 2023: Place is really run down now. Tv menus all off or missing, dirty floors. Chips were awful. What a shame

Second and last time, not sure how many days old the crackers were and the S&P chicken and beef was ropey. Please give up 🤷‍♀️

Used to be great, still good. Recently changed management, still probably the best in the area but there isn't anything else around any more. The team are all miserable now, not sure of the cause of that.

I came into this chippy a few months ago they talked in a foreign language and I did know they were talking about me and laughing but I was so hungry tonight and I ordered fish and chips what a disaster chips were disgusting fish was so small it’s not cheap and to be fair they should be brought to order they need a proper food review from the council because it was disgusting not worth any money I paid fuming is not the word !!!!!!!!!

Terrible meal tonight. Duck in Plum sauce, certainly not plum sauce! Tasteless except for salt ! 1 Chop suey roll cost nearly £4. Being going downhill for a while now . Think I'll try the Eastham one next time.

Ordered special ginger pineapple but never got any ginger in the meal. Disappointed. All previous times it was so good. Is it due to different owners.

Good Chinese noodles I ever had

Food was delivered 15 minutes late and when it got here it was cold with items missing. Called up and the person who picked up the phone threw it to someone else who said they would send it out. 20 minutes later it arrived when we had all finished. Food was nice but service was awful. Won't order again.

APPALLING- phoned in order for collection. Shop run by local youth centre kids with no customer service what so ever. Took my food home only to find they got it completely wrong. I called them to tell them and they actually argued with me to say I'd gorgeous it wrong. They said they would send a driver to replace my order. I waited an hour but nothing came. When I called them back again they said they had called with the delivery but there was nobody in. I ended having to go back and get my. Order. Absolute disgraceful. Asked to see the Manager only to be told he wasn't around. The food was tasteless and cold - do not waste your money - the chips were not even freshly fried they were like bullets. I would not recommend them ever.

You'll go Hungry Hungry waiting for your order staff standing around doing nothing because kitchen is obviously on a go SLOW and it appears to be under new management and they certainly dont seem to notice that they couldn't even manage a P@@@ up in a brewery. Definitely not going to be returning. One customer had to bring the whole order back as it was completely wrong. Chips are just pre heated and lack in quality. In summary this place has gone down hill.

Absolute joke of place gave me and the misses food poisoning the prawns smelled vile chicken was dry beef was like rubber been throwing up all night clearly can’t cook a meal properly and the people who work there care more about what they look like then the food they serve will not be going back and I do not recommend

Food turned up cold with no sauces! The food service from here is shocking! Can’t speak a word of English ended up driving back to deliver the food back to them and refund! Why can’t you get an order right!

What has happened this used to be a great chippy ? Now no menus to view , the staff haven’t a clue apart from the poor girls behind the till , the other staff are rude to their own staff. Chips cold , portions small, Guys just sell up and give us back people with interest in quality and not ripping us off. Present owners leave !!

Dreadful service and food to match. Having rang to order a banquet, the lady had no idea what she was doing. Having rang twice, I went in to order the banquet with a side of noodles. When getting back home, there were no noodles. I rang and was told the banquet doesn't come with sides. I said, I know this I ordered them separately. I had to go back to the shop to pick them up and was charged again for the noodles. Utterly hopeless staff. By the time I got back to eat, food was going cold but the beef in black bean sauce was inedible and extremely salty. Always used to be a brilliant takeaway this but seems there's some changes and gone massively downhill

As a nurse and short of time, I always use hungrys. Fish n chips are amazing and come in a Box and the rest of the menu akways tastes fresh. Have used them 3 times in last 10 days and recommended to everyone.

Rip off on just eat. No rice with nearly £8.00 meal, admitted on phone it was issue with app so went to shop and they wanted to charge extra for rice that is included if you buy in store. Rip off, poor customer service. DO NOT USE. Only got 1 star as won't let you post with no starts

In terms of the food I have always enjoyed this place, however after this evening I will not be returning again. Following a disagreement between a member of staff and the owner, the girl on the till asked them politely to go in the back instead of arguing in front of customers. I was shocked to then hear the owner berate her, telling her to “mind your business, shut up and do your bloody job “. Nobody deserves to be spoken to like that by an employer, and from what I heard following, this is a regular occurrence. This definitely isn’t the sort of person whose local business I would like to support.

Don’t go in to get chips when they aren’t busy. I just picked up the worst chips EVER. They were obviously refried several times. When I got them home they were full of grease and rock hard (not just crispy) they had been fried so many times. Disgusting.

Chips were an absolute mush in the paper, so squashed together. The bbq ribs had no taste atall. The chicken curry was not as tasty as usual. Tonight’s meal was very disappointed

First time here..we were going on little motorbike ride and decided to have tea whilst out..food was lovely..fish and chips..the fish was massive and well cooked and the chips were perfect..ty

Smaller portions recently, never get the order right these days. The girls on the front not helpful at all. Great at magic though, they put a meat and potato pie in the bag, and when I got home it was Chicken and mushroom. Had too many chances, and won't be going back.

I honestly can't believe how bad this chippy has become.. When they can't even get a simple order for boiled rice with curry sauce right! Who serves boiled rice on its own with a small carton of curry separately!! Then when you question it they try to tell you it's how they always do it... I'm sorry but that's not the case... Plus the size of a large portion is the same as a small portion, just served in a larger tray.... Oh and when you order something, then after waiting 10 mins they then tell you they forgot to mention it will take 25 mins to prepare so you can go home and come back or wait.... But your other dishes are already completed and waiting.... I mean come on is this actually a joke shop.... And finally, I'm sorry to say, the girls working there have zero ability to listen and even less customer service skills... Would not recommend and will not return.. Please go elsewhere...

Half and half rice and chips. Chips were cold and only about 8 of them, so very disappointed with how small the portion was. Also a meat dish came when I ordered king prawn. They said it was my error, but the website must have failed, as I don't eat meat. Rang up, but they said there was nothing they could do. Obviously as a pescetarian I couldn't just eat the wrong meal, so it went in the bin. Real shame as enjoyed food here before. But won't be ordering again.

Ordered fish chips and curry, the food was delicious until I poorer the curry sauce onto it, it had no taste and came out like water, ruined all the food, hungry is normally a reliable place to go, however on this occasion, the curry sauce was like rain water.

Am a rare visitor to a chippy. I like the fish here. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Beware that a "large" chips is huge! The curry sauce is good also.

Well my first time going here tonight. Terrible shambles. It was crazy bonkers. It's the worst chippy I have ever ever had and will not be returning. Fish was cold,the batter was soggy and not crispy. The sausages tasted awful had to leave it. They spent to much time rushing to serve customers where in fact if they slowed down a bit and serve a few customers first then take more orders might work better for them. Horrible horrible horrible don't waste your money much better chippies around

Just finished my gorgeous fish chips and mushy peas from Hungary's, service was quick fish cooked fresh while you wait... Really couldn't falt it. Staff were pleasant will be back soon 😋

Gone down hill this place used to make lovely scran and now it’s just ran by children I’m stood looking around and couldn’t see one GCSE in sight. Unless you enjoy eating uncooked food I’d avoid this place at all costs just another prime example of oxygen thieves…

Always used hungrys for our family takeaway but not anymore after tonight. Not only was I left waiting on the phone for 35 minutes to make my order but the chicken I ordered was raw in the middle and when I called to complain and ask about the temperature probe used to test the temp, the guy didn't have a clue what I was on about. I told him I'd be down for a full refund on the whole meal. When I got there, the staff were rude, one even sniggered. The manager refused to speak to me and he only refunded the piece of raw chicken and not the whole meal as promised. Luckily I have kept the chicken and taken photos and I am informing food. gov . The attitude of the staff was utterly disgusting. I wander how they would feel if they received that chicken for one of their children. Discusting.

Chips were only just warm and quite dry. Purchased a bottle of diet coke which was 9 months past best before date . Staff are excellent and friendly

Great fish & chip shop, very busy, but the staff were all amazing, coped with everything, I really don't know how they manage, they are all doing a great job, I had lovely fish & chips, all the food there is excellent.

My family and i have been using hungry's for a bout 4 years now sadly my visit last weekend was my last. The quality of the food has deteriorated and the place seems to be run by chavs in tight fitting sports ware one female staff member in paticular ( fat face'blond hair and to much make up) could really do with a lesson in customer service. She has a bad attitude how she got through her interview is beyond me! Despite ordering my food and arriving on time i was told it wasent ready and would have to wait! I will be going else where in future.

I love hungrys it's my favourite takeaway. The food is yummy. Fish and chips are great. The batter is always crispy and not too thick. The sweet and sour is the best from any takeaway ive ever had. I get it delivered and they are always in good time

My family and I have frequented Hugrys of Bromborough since day one of there opening enjoying every visit .There staff have been excellent in there service. Unfortunately our most recent visit was disastrous,the service was terrible. The food was discussing, way below there usual standard. Words can not explain. When we asked for salt and pepper squid, we didn’t expect the rest of the of the food we ordered to be saturated in salt. The other order of special chow main was so swimming in oil it needed no help what so ever in transferring it’s self into the serving bowl. How sad , perhaps a sine of the Coved times .

Food has gone down in quality I ordered chicken fried rice and it got that much soya sauce on the rice I just couldn't eat it I also ordered noodles and they were that brown with soya sauce my daughter refused to eat them along with the stale prawn crackers. Food and service has always been better than this but over the last few months quality has dropped really sad and don't think I'll be ordering again.

Terrible. Might aswell travel another 5 minutes and go the one in Eastham. Everytime I walk past the shops there’s some blonde young woman giving me dirty looks.

Honestly never thought I'd order from hungrys but after trying it a few months ago I'm now a regular, the food is great and moderately priced. I'd recommend the Chinese dishes to anyone in the local area.

Ordered a meal for delivery and got the wrong meal, i called and the meal was resent- still the wrong meal. By now i have given up as the rest of family has eaten and it’s late- we decide to try again a week later this time we have two items missing, despite 28 calls the phone is not being picked up. So i have now wasted £11.00 on incorrect or missing meals. That’s the last money you get from me.

Has covid management in place , but it's not managed ! Customers arguing as everyone is pushing in , again no management from Hungary's. Foods ok, but £3.20 for chips ? Come on , very expensive. Staff not wearing any hygiene masks or hair nets either . Not my cup of tea I'm afraid. Shame , maybe it's just literally too busy for them to be on top of it

You always know what your getting from Hungrys. Queue time at Eastham always shorter than Bromborough so use them both

When ordering a fish dinner I asked for the peas to be put in a separate pot. They are normally happy to do this. Last night I was told, " It's not really a fish dinner if we don't put the peas on the top". I ended up paying an extra 80p for a separate pot of peas. How ridiculous!
