Great food cooked with TLC. Friendly staff.

When you enter this place you walk through the shop front to go upstairs to the restaurant, there are six tables and you just pick a table and sit there. I prefer the window seat because you can watch the world go by and you can look over the river and it's a B Y O drinks, which I had to go out to the local shops and buy a couple of bottle of wines. The menu is quite limited but it was very nice, I would say the place is very cosy toilets are nice and clean I had a pleasant evening here.

I don't usually leave reviews but I feel this place deserves all the love. Amazing food and service :) I love this place, the food is stunning and very authentic!!! Thank you for all the good dinners and for always being so kind. Must try if you haven't been here before.

I’m a Shoreham resident and want to see the town thrive but don’t go here. I stood waiting for 20 mins waiting to see if we could eat upstairs. The waitress that was working just simply walked past us on several occasions. When someone finally realised we had been there. They just said sorry we’re too busy. I had previously tried to ring on three different times in the 90 mins preceeding. Such as bad reception.

We had visited before, mid week, and thought this place was great. So we booked a table for 4 on a Saturday night. There is seating for about 20 upstairs and it was filling up as we arrived. There was only one young lady covering front of the house. I am not sure what the issue was that night, whether it was lack of staff or a disaster in the kitchen, but it was a disappointing night for us and several other tables. The intermittent smell of burning from the kitchen did not bode well. Food arrived randomly and went to the wrong tables. It was almost 2 hours after arrival when we got our meals, but only part of the meals. Some food didn't arrive and, although we asked several times, the rice didn't arrive before we had finished the meal; we told them not to bother at that stage. I so wanted to like this place but that night questioned whether we would go back. I just wish I knew what the issue was that night.

Unfortunately the hungry monkey left us hungry, it's a small 15seated cosy place, the food on other tables looked lovely.. However that's where the Compliment stopped, the menu is a flyer, there was no Indictation apart from the word boxed, that one side was a takeaway menu... Only told when I had chosen by waitress, now bearing in mind it's Friday 7.30 a Thai restaurant, there was no duck dishes available! As in no duck.. OK moving on placed order, few people turned up to sit at last available table... We waited for our starters... Opened bottle wine we brought in... Waited chatted, waited drank wine, waited, hungry for what other customers food looked liked, waited, drank, chatted, drank, 45min later food came up the stairs, excited to see as tummy rumbling.. Alas!!! It was not for us... Asked waiter how long as already 45min wait so 1hr from sit down, was told 10 min, off she went coming back shortly after with plates of starters.... But for the table that arrive 15min after us!!! Slightly tipsy now with just wine on table, starving hungry disappointed we upped and left 1hr 15 after going in... Sorry guys but just not good enough.... Went to tosca instead

One of worst meals I ever had. Place was highly recommended by local friends. Food was awful, two signature Thai dishes had absolutely no flavour. There seems to be no extraction in downstairs kitchen so all cooking fumes come to upstairs dining room. Our hair and clothes smell awful, worse than a chippy. Time between starters and main was about an hour waiting and there was no clue from waiting staff about how to eat it, no plates or bowls provided so dripped food all over table. Would not recommend to anyone !

We have visited this place previously and had fantastic food, however last night was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The table was booked for 5 people as a birthday celebration for our daughter, the waiter took our order for starters and main. Only some of the starters arrived and were all over cooked, eventually the remaining starters came out again over cooked. We tried calling the waiter over but he was having trouble with another table who were complaining that meal’s hadn’t arrived. After approx an hour our plates hadn’t been cleared away i asked where our mains were he replied the chef is training!! We waited a further half an hour and i then went to find him, he was downstairs .. i asked whether our meals were coming out? He said you can leave if you want .. i couldn’t believe this reply. He took me in the kitchen where a woman was just standing there, he said how long for table 1 she replied i haven’t started yet .. we had been here almost 2 hours by now and other guests had not had their food either. Following the awful customer service from the waiter we decided to leave as we needed to eat, it ruined the evening for our daughter and the complete lack of any kind of apology was astounding, we will not be returning and will not be recommending to anyone again in the future.

The place was just so eccentric and lovely, I loved the overall vibe as I entered, and was not at all disappointed by the food. The whole restaurant was clean, and the utensils were shiny😦, not to mention the great service from the beautiful, kind and warm waitress (Claire). The manager was really nice and made us feel at home. Will definitely go and visit here again with family!!!

Either the red or green curry are both awesome with a load of heat. Take your own drink for a small corkage fee. Good stuff.

Great Thai takeaway food, average portions. It’s a shame the price to be quite high for a takeaway(avg 15£ per person for a dish without starters), without delivery. Would love to go back there but may take a bit longer until go back (£££).

The spicy Korean pork was a bit of a disappointment, as was the tamarind prawns and prawn dim sums. Just really overcooked and not as much flavour as you would expect! However, the curries were lovely- spicy and sweet, great depth of flavour. Would just recommend watching the cooking times for some of the dishes as they were a bit tough. A very popular restaurant, I called at 6.30 pm for a 2 hour wait so get in quick! Not necessarily worth the wait to be honest, but some of the meal was a delight and some was a let down.

A takeaway with few tables upstairs to sit down. Only open certain eve for tables. Food great and tastes fresh

When we have eaten in (around 3 times) Rice always comes out first followed by mains 20 odd mins later. How hard is it to bring it all together? When recently ordered for take away the meal deal pricing was not applied, the server was rude and it was expensive for the amount you get. Hardly any meat mainly watery sauce and rock hard veg. Won't be visiting again which is a shame as the taste is there and good but everything else is just a massive let down. From the run down entrance to rude staff. The owner puts on a front which I now see through

A warm friendly welcome awaited us when we arrived. Yoong listened to what type of meal we'd like and we were happy for her to bring whatever she chose for us. We had several starters and a main green curry. The food was simple but very fresh and tasty. The interiors is basic but for £15 per person one does not expect luxury. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, like eating with family. We'd love to come again, along with friends. It is a small place, so worth booking.

The Thai food in this little pop-up, situated in an everyday cafe is really very good. The red curry was my favourite with lots of balanced tastes. Service is very friendly and as it's a BYO booze the bill was extremely reasonable. Will be back for sure.

What a place! Completely new dining experience. It's like eating in a thai shop window with the opportunity to purchase all the ingredients used! The owner Yooung is so enthusiastic and passionate about food and people. limited menu, due to local licensing rules but she changes this every week with her own specialities. Currently only two tables! which can each seat 4 people with two sittings so you will need to book.Only open Thurs / Fri & Sat. We tried the " something of everything" which was a great choice. Full of flavour and blend of spices. No alcohol license but you can take your own. Really good value, a great new little secret. Highly recommend as a new experience.

Food was amazing and service impeccable 10/10 all round

Everytime I call this place during published opening hours they are closed. Just called (8:30) to place a collection and was told the kitchen is closed. I said it says it’s open until 9 and the man on the phone says we’ll there’s nothing I can do about it. Good food but awful service

A lovely dinky restaurant on the first floor. We came here to get away from the clamour of the Bridge pub. And it was fabulous. Food yummy and spicy and the atmosphere sparse.

We decided to visit the Station pub as it is our closest pub on foot. We booked a table to eat for 7:00. Although it wasn’t very busy we were given a table right by the side of the bar which unfortunately meant that as one of the staff passed us whilst clearing another table my jacket got a big lump of mayonnaise. Luckily it was a leather jacket. Accidents happen and I didn’t mention this to the staff. We ordered fish and chips and asked if we could possibly have a green salad instead of the mushy peas and we were told it wasn’t a problem and yes we could. When the fish and chips arrived it was fine, nothing to complain about there. However the salad portions were served in extremely small pots, presumably the ones used for the mushy peas. By the third mouthful we had no salad left and ordered more salad which arrived at the end of our meal and for which we were charged. I would have preferred to be told that salad could not be served with our meal. Having said that my main issue with our evening at the Station was that although it was not busy at all when we arrived it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive, by then we were halfway through our second drink. I wonder if the wait was deliberate to ensure we would have another drink. An altogether rather disappointing experience and the bill came to £48.73.

We picked up our first takeaway on recommendation, we were both very impressed with our food, authentic, fresh and extremely tasty. The best Pad Thai I have eaten outside of Thailand, great value adds to our very pleasant experience. A little gem in Shoreham.

Ordered food at 6 asking for a 7:30 pick up arrived food wasn’t ready couldn’t even find the order eventually found the order 45 minute wait just kept saying “it will be right out” once we finally got the order £95 worth as compensation they gave us a few prawn crackers got home 3 dishes missing SOOO disappointed wasn’t going to take it back because they didn’t care when we picked it up 100% won’t be returning

Best Thai I've had in a while with a lovely seating area upstairs

Food was amazing!! Best padthai we’ve had in all of Brighton. The vegetable tempura was amazing. And the dim sums were so tasty, would 100% try. The green and red curry’s were also delicious (although a bit spicy). The atmosphere was so lovely, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Can’t recommend enough.

Small but perfectly formed. Really tasty food and lovely, hardworking staff. A real asset to the high Street.

First ever time eating from here and have to say it was the best takeaway we have had in ages. Food was incredible and was very good value. Will definitely will now be a regular 👌🏻

Very disappointed. I ordered the Green papaya salad which was simply an English salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber) with a bit of green papaya and cashew nuts. No lime, no lime juice, no galangal, no palm sugar, no garlic, no peanuts and a very small takeaway portion for £8.

Best lunch in town. It is definitely a gem, with authentic taste with great staff. We love it and we will definitely come back soon.

Visited here not realising that they had dine in, thought they only did take away. Amazing food, the taste was so fresh and clean with a lovely zing, this Thai food did not disappoint! Mum does the cooking and daughter serves the tables, nice small family run business. The restaurant is quite simple in appearance but by no means takes away the personal touch you get from the service and a lovely view over the riverside. Bring your own drinks... that's alcohol and soft drinks. There is corkage but an extremely non greedy £2 per person, no matter how much you bring/drink, just the one charge. We had the "combo box" huge starter, huge mains and a side, £15 each, make sure you're hungry!! Where else can you have such a wonderful meal for two at £30?! Well done guys, we will be back.

This place is high quality and healthy with lovely staff. We are so lucky to have Hungry Monkey in shoreham. Dive in! So many superb dishes, whole family love their food.

I've ordered the roti satay wrap yesterday and although it tasted great, I did wait almost an hour for it! I will be ordering again just not during my lunch break and definately not when I'm hungry 😂

Wow! This friendly pop up Thai ticks all the boxes of catering excellence by delivering consistently well on a small and easily managed menu of authentic and delicious food. They can make some adjustments depending on palate, such as adjusting heat levels, and the takeaway service is pretty quick too. A firm family favourite that graces our neighbourhood. Cash only and highly recommended.

This is a fantastic authentic pop up Thai. Opens Thursday to Saturday most weeks. Open evenings from 5pm to 9:30pm transforms from cafe to BYO Thai. Great prices its very popular be sure to try the takeaway, if you can’t get booked in
