Hungry Horse Crowmarsh in Oxford

After leaving my job back in the summer, I wanted somewhere I could meet up with my old workmates. The Bell did not disappoint and everyone commented how nice it was. We were a mixed party of some dining and some drinking but the landlord gave us a designated area where we could all sit and chat. The food as always was delicious. Thank you to all the team for a lovely evening.

Well done! Family lunch for my birthday with all the kids and grandkids. My daughter did book in advance so we had a corner of the pub to ourselves. Sunday lunches, kids specials and good pub fayre! 15 adults and 8 children! Absolutely brilliant service and the food was excellent. The kids ate everything that was put in front of them. Thank you!

Prompt and good service and reasonably priced. Lovely food. Strangely they ran out of milk so couldn't have a hot drink after our meal.

We booked as it was a Friday evening. It was fairly busy with young families. We were shown to a booth type table for four as our original table for two had been given away. The menu is well priced, and has some unusual items. We started with sun dried Arancini with pesto. It was generous and very tasty. My main was a Prawn and chorizo risotto. Again, tasted delicious. My Husband had steak and chips. It was cooked very well. We shared an Eton mess type sundae. The staff were all very young and were buzzing around serving, but friendly and willing to help with our orders. Lovely decor and clean toilets. Would go back if returning to nearby campsite.

We are locals to the Bell, Wallingford and always have a lovely time. They have quizzes on a Wednesday evening which are good fun when they can run them as sometimes they don’t have enough people to take part. We would be there every Wednesday otherwise! The team are great, the punters are friendly and the decor is nice. Food is always 10/10, there is a great menu with lots of choices. As we have gotten to know the pub, Steven always makes sure we have a nice meal/drinks. The team are very attentive, checking on tables making sure all guests have everything they need. The only downside to the pub is that they don’t have tvs for sport!

Went for a meal on the 1st of November we’d booked our table for 4 quite a number of weeks prior, we arrived to be greeted by a member of staff might have been the manager “I hope you’ve pre booked or it’s pot luck what you get” amazing greeting! We ordered our meals and drinks as well as some water for with our meals. Our meals arrived (which were edible that’s all you can say about them) and the server bought the water and 3 glasses…. There were 4 of us, they then noticed the mistake and said “ohhh there’s four of you ahh well two of you will have to share” in a very can’t be arsed manner. We are individually repeat visitors as we are all very local, that will be our last visit the meal that my place of works Christmas meal (booked that night by someone that wasn’t with us) has now been cancelled via Barclay card, if we want to be treated like that we’ll go to Burger King the foods of about the same standard anyway

Been the last two Sundays for their Roast and its absolutely lovely food. I'm now giving up cooking my Sunday roast at home, when it's this good here! Excellent price as well. This pub/restaurant is an absolute gem. Going back Monday night night to try their other delights in the food department. Great service and staff as well.

8 adults and a toddler visited for Sunday lunch and it was perfect. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and the roast was excellent.

I've been to The Bell on several occasions since it reopened recently, and have always been happy. Not Michelin Star quality of course, it's a Greene King, but more than good enough for the price, and the staff have always been cheerful and helpful

Had 5 meals with a puddings and drinks, Table service couldn't fault anything... exceptional food very very happy and service with a smile 🤗

Lovely family meal out. Food was good, took some time to come out but we were alerted to this whilst ordering. Staff are friendly and the pub is clean with a great atmosphere. Looking forward to returning again.

This is poor microwaved /grilled food served by a very grumpy waitress who clearly had never been trained to smile or be nice to customers!

Visiting the area for a while, absolutely fabulous pub with great value food and drink! The team are sooooo friendly and love to look after all your needs! So glad we crossed the Bridge over the Thames and kept walking a couple of hundred yards….

The staff were extremely efficient and friendly and went our of their way to accommodate our requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and pudding. Would definitely be returning!! Delicious pub grub 😁

An amazing family pub, with excellent and professional staff! We couldn't of loved our time here at the bell anymore. From a mum to a wild 5 year old and 3 other children, the staff were amazing and understanding, they showed patience and understanding and...

Me and my partner went to the bell on a busy Wednesday night I was lovely from start to finish Chloe on the bar served us we had the curry deal I ordered the standard tikka and my partner ordered a big plate beef madras. It arrived in a timely manner of about 10 minutes even though the pub was busy. When my partners food arrived he was stunned of how much food there was there!!! Our food was fresh hot and delicious. Our plates were cleared and as we were leaving Chloe wished us a farewell from the bar. Thank you team bell we will be returning.

Visited The Bell for the first time was very impressed with place, we sat in the garden for our meal which was great value for money, our waitress Lisa was very friendly and efficient , would highly recommended this pub .

The Hungry Horse is the place we middle aged brothers and sisters get together without the kids for a filling meal at a very reasonable price. The ethos is pile it high sell it cheap and as they say you get what you pay for. The staff are on the whole very friendly, although sometimes the service is slow. If you are happy that you are going to get cheap pub food in a busy setting, then this place is entirely suitable
