Always a lovely welcome at Castle View, service is spot on. Food is always nice, can't complain. Edel, Nicole & team do an amazing job keeping their customers happy.

We were in a rush due to a prior engagement. We hadn’t booked but they listened to our needs and accommodated for this. We were initially told that there were no seats, but to go to the bar area for a drink. After two minutes a very nice blonde staff member (sorry didn’t catch their name) on the door found us a really lovely table. She later came over to check if everything was okay. As a result, we managed to eat and get to the theatre on time. Thank you!! All staff were helpful and polite - overall, a lovely atmosphere. 5 stars overall.

This venue is brilliant for party's we had our mothers birthday meal here there was around 21 of us food was brilliant and very reasonable priced Owen the lad looking after us was amazing adelle the manager is one lovely lady all meals were brought out together hats off to adelle Owen and all the lovely staff they all work so hard would definitely recommend to everyone thanks a million from all of us xx

Me and my partner had two full English breakfasts with coffees for around £20, the food was great especially for the price range, the coffee was nice too. The atmosphere was nice, the seating arrangement and decor was good, very family friendly.

Food was served cold unfortunately. Wouldn't return. Service was acceptable though.

Been twice now.. part of the pub seems to been refurbished.. wish I’d of requested newer area .. shame there’s not a few seats for adult only as quite alot small kids.. but manager that seated us was lovely and took time chatting to us.. bar server Sim was lovely taking our order ., so refreshing to have a smiley face.. great offers .. worth a visit .. Tesco vouchers accepted ..Food great ,prices great value and many offers!!and tasty food .. well done chef! !! All in all relaxed place .. no frills

Staff are excellent and have been for years but a bit of feedback i think hungry horse is slowly slipping from what was the go to value place a couple of years ago to one of the worst value places about. For example the £5 larger kids pizza was tiny the 400 calories should have been a giveaway what decent sized pizza is 400 calories. Compare that to the £5 chicken tikka flatbread chips and unlimited salad the day before at the harvester over the road admittedly that was with a 50% offer but most value places are full of offers lately £6 cookhouse £5 franky n bennys Beefeater regular 50% off all those historically more expensive than hungry horse are now better value. Peroni £6.20 is also dearer than most places only really pay dearer than that on a night out up Birmingham.

The food was exceptional, and the service even better. We were greeted politely and all of our needs were met from start to finish. One of the workers, Ciara, was especially friendly and welcoming, and as well as this, recommended the perfect drinks.

The manage is really friendly, especially the kind woman called Ciara, she was amazing and so friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend if you enjoy good food/cocktails and great atmosphere.

We decided to have a family day out, so we came to castleview hungry horse for a good meal and was extremely satisfied, john provided an excellent customer service, made us feel welcome, and there was the other waitress but I didn't catch her name, would definitely recommend this place to everyone, thankyou castleview, we will be back

Helpful and friendly staff. Good value when deal of the day is used. Good alternative for evening meal if staying at Premier inn or village hotel.

Good basic pub, reserved a table for a few hours for a family get together. I am vegan so not too many choices but the falafel burger was an acceptable choice. Would I go there again? Preferably not as it wasn’t amazing for vegan or vegetarian options, but it’s a convenient option for a family meal.

Took my partner to the castle view . She lives in the philliphines due to staying at the village hotel right opposite the castle view . Had a gorgeous breakfast and she also agreed. We are coming back for lunch later on prices are very reasonable , the staff are great and highly recommend here to anybody if you want some decent well cooked food

Excellent breakfast this morning and considering it is New Years Day the service was quick and the food well presented. We'll happily return to the pub again.

I live 95 miles from here but happy to return after a visit 5 months ago. Evening meal Friday 27th December. Value is very good as is portion size, and quality. The staff work very hard and always seem happy, led by the sift manager John. He found us a table even though we had not booked.

I was really shocked at how bad this pub is. The female blonde manager behind the bar was so rude when we ordered, kept huffing when we had to change things due to children's likes and dislikes, holding and shaking her head when we were giving the order, if we asked a question she kept holding her hand up. The pub had holes in the dirty walls, ripped wallpaper, dirty tables and there was a funny smell. The food itself wasn't warm and bland. Don't ever go there. Vile.

Came here today, the service from the blonde lady behind the bar was amazing, she met all my needs for me and my brother, all with a smile on her face! Very accommodating for us, even we left with a full stomach and smiles on our faces, Thankyou for your amazing services from yourself and your team

Absolutely loved it here! The food was incredible, perfectly prepared and served hot and fresh. The staff were so friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. We visited on Christmas Eve, 24th December, with a table of seven, and everything was perfect. Can’t wait to come back again!

Booked my works do back in September. Didn't have any correspondence from them until November. Didn't get told to pay a deposit until the 2nd December when I went to give our preorders. Then I had a day to get the deposits. Then when it came to the night, my booking wasn't even on the sheet at the front of the house. They had to quickly set a tables up for us. Then they couldn't find our preorders sheet even though the kitchen had one in there folder and then the lady put another in the folder which was upstairs but yet had to have my copy on the night to use from! Then a member of our work place broke his tooth on his meal as the chicken was rock hard. Then the prices Didn't match up with what we calculated it too. Then I was meant to get a phone call back from the manager and I am still waiting as they owe us money! Absolute shambles

We come here regularly as a family for both breakfast and normal meals, we always tend to sit in the bar due to having our dog Coco with us. All the staff are polite, helpful and friendly. A special mention to Edel who always goes the extra mile with myself and my family, nothing is ever too much trouble, she is a credit to the Castle View team. Merry Christmas and we will see you in the new year.

What can I day the staff went above and beyond for us we missed meeting santa and the staff and edel went and organised it with santa (who was amazing and made us laugh) and made our little girl happy. Keep up the amazing work ur 5* in our eyes xxx

Edel was lovely and so helpful, as were all the other staff that dealt with us. We were a party of 7 and all the food came out hot and at the same time. Lively atmosphere and great service at Christmas time.

I ordered a mixed grill, my egg and onion rings were missing. My sons gravy was missing for his food. We were served our food and was told there are no clean cutlery. We had to wait 10 minutes for them to wash some cutlery. Very very disappointed, my food was cold by the time i was handed cutlery. How can you serve food at the table and at the same time ask the customer to wait whilst forks are being washed ?

Went here for breakfast 21st December 2024 the meal we couldn’t fault it was warm and very filling. Service was very friendly and a lovely atmosphere. All of the staff are excellent. We have been before and will continue to visit again and again. Its value for money and no negatives at all. What more do you want. A great day out by all.

Went for the breakfast with Santa Santa was amazing with the kids but drops in some jokes for the parents as well had a really good time and the kids loved it Service was amazing food came really quick and was really nice can’t recommend castle view enough

Christmas meal for 23 but we had put our orders in. A starter took 20 minutes to arrive after everyone had had there's. Main meals, vegetables were really hard & cold. Quite a few left there's. Nicest par t were the desserts. My first time there so maybe better service with fewer people.

Me and the family come here quite often, the service is always great and the food is good too. At our most recent time of visit our server, Owen, was very accommodating and had a great attitude. Would definitely recommend and return :)

I made a group booking for a works Xmas meal at Castle View, was very easy to get booked and communication was great the whole way through. Nicole and the team at Castle View were great dealing with a large booking of 34 people all ordering different meals and drinks. Our table was set up with Christmas crackers and the atmosphere was lovely. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was great. Thank you all at Castle View!

We had a wonderful breakfast with Santa; the food was excellent, my son thoroughly enjoyed it, and our server, Danielle, provided outstanding service. The overall Santa experience was exceptional.

Excellent service, friendly staff, great food and choice with good prices. The Sea Bass special and Lamb kofta flatbread specials for £10 each on a Saturday were superb. Breakfast choice too is excellent. If you’re staying next door at the premier inn (as we were), then give their food a miss and eat here. You won’t regret it. Next time we are up here from Weymouth, we will definitely be back.

Had breakfast with Santa at Castle View this morning and I have to say it was wonderful. Santa was outstanding and really great with the children, he went around all the tables and spoke to all the kiddies and when breakfast was eaten the kids got to go and tell Santa whether they were naughty or nice and what they wanted for Christmas. They then could have photos taken and received their gift. The food was very good although the pancakes could have been warmer. All the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend. Thank you to all.

What can I say what a great time.food was good, beer was good and to top it all the manager and bar staff were amazing. Was offered breakfast in the morning due to other commitments couldn't this time. I will definitely be back and really hope the 2 lovely staff members will be there. meant to write this a while ago… drinks were lovely, came out quickly. we took our dog with us and they couldn’t have been friendlier. Adel gave our little Bailey a sausage and we were given a fresh bowl of water. very welcoming. food was really good and fresh.

Went for Sunday lunch,my friend had a mixed grill.he also ordered a starter think the big one you can share.waited a while but was quite busy so let that go.bought the starter and my lunch together then two minutes after bought my friends mixed grill.i just looked at her and said this is a starter how we supposed to eat both.she replied did you order it as a starter erm yes,told her either lunch or that be cold because had to eat one first,she didn't know what to say and walked away.my lunch wasn't that nice,sprouts hard,beef tough, cauliflower hard,peas and carrots wasn't much better didn't eat much of it so starter it was which is now cold,I wanted to send it back but my friend told me just to leave it went in hungry came out hungry.so won't be returning
