The food is rubbish. Nothing to do with the Black Country, just processed Garbage. Long long queues to be served. Not at all good. Staff were cheerful and did their best.

Came here as dog friendly on Google but we were asked to leave

Nice atmosphere lovely place to take parents and children alike My mom and dad are elderly and loved it here. Whilst watching barges! Just for drinks but recommend speciality hot chocolate :)

The Gongoozler is usually very good but my friend had the scone which was more like a small biscuit. It was very hot and hard so possibly defrosted in the microwave for too long. Not like the scones there used to be so perhaps need a recipe/size/baker review. My friend didn't say anything at the time otherwise I'd have mentioned it to the staff who are always very approachable and helpful

I have never visited this establishment before.i was meeting with a friend we did not want to go shopping.just a cafe would be suffice.staff friendly down to earth.we had cheese rolls with side salad.it was very fresh .we had homemade shortbread with a hot drink for ,fifty pence each shortbread with drink.not too busy in there it got busy later.mocha was nice and cups of tea.nicely decorated in there.sorry we hogged our table so long

Lovely friendly place. A small lunch menu but everything we ordered was lovely, fresh, and the staff were happy to make changes. It’s a beautiful spot overlooking the canal tunnel tours and also the back of the Black Country living museum. The weather was beautiful so we were able to enjoy the spacious balcony but the inside was rustic and comfortable with plenty of space. Dudley is terrible about advertising its gems to encourage tourists. This is one of them and we will definitely be coming back. Reasonably priced meals and clean toilets too.

Great food. Staff really friendly and helpful. Would like to say a big thank you to Tammy, Megan, and Joanne for making our day with our grandchildren at Easter an enjoyable one. Our afternoon tea was lovely. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely friendly staff, lovely coffee and delicious cake . Restaurant looks wonderful. Service was very good . However, it is not at all dog friendly . We had to sit in an area with tables with rusty broken umbrellas and near noisy fans pumping out kitchen fumes. Had a disabled person with us so needed a table . Please consider allowing dogs on the balcony overlooking the canal . This is no where near food. Most places have dog friendly areas these days . Please please consider it!

Found the Gongoozler on the spare moment, went for a full English breakfast. Loved the place from the moment we parked. Well presented building, very clean and modern. The staff were very polite and helpful and the food quality and service were exceptional. Nice view alongside the canal, dogs welcome outside, can't recommend this place enough, we will be returning, it's our new favourite place.

We Had a cheese cob with a handful of chips each & a cappuccino each £12 ... bargain! Loads of cheese & salad & good amount of chips (they were really nice) good cappuccino too 👍🏻👍🏻

Enjoyed a brilliant family breakfast for my son's birthday, the food was fabulous and really good value, Tammy and Megan provided great customer service and were super friendly and extremely helpful, highly recommend 😊👍

Like the atmosphere and coffee but breakfast was not good.bacon and sausage really dry like it had been cooked ages ago and just warmed up in a microwave.shame as if the food was better I would use it more.

Lovely day out to see Santa. Was well worth the money and the kids enjoyed it. Parking is good as well.

My daughter and Son in law held their wedding reception here. The Gongoozler also provided the buffet of the evening, which was excellent. I could not promote this venue enough. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the place is clean and tidy. We visit regular for meals, entertainment and canal boat rides which are worth every penny. Plus, it's a charity that's striving to keep the history of the Black Country and it's association with the canals alive for future generations. Also, if you're disabled like myself, it is ideal for us guys. So, go and have a look, I'll doubt you won't want to keep going again and again after the first visit.

Staff were miserable and unhelpful. Anything you ask for seems like it's too much effort. I'd advise some customer service training.

Today we visited for first time really enjoyed it, everything was great. I have only one criticism, the choice of food, while I understand you have to watch wastage etc, I dont think there is much choice, also it would be nice to have a couple of healthy options, salads etc. This did not spoil our day and will be going again.

Food was not good, don't know what I brought, served by guy in wheelchair, won't go back.

Large cafè with plenty of seating Indoor and out overlooking the canal. They have two unisex toilets 🚻 by the cafè unfortunately I opened one door to see a man using the toilet who had not locked the door. There were young children waiting and I found this worrying. Obviously the staff had no control over this.

El lugar, dentro del parque temático (si se le puede llamar así) está muy bien ambientado... Hasta en el olor de los muebles antiguos. La cerveza, bien, pero no sirven fría, más bien del tiempo, si te vale, el sitio genial... Eso sí... Precios ingleses que son ligeramente superiores a los españoles, por ejemplo, una pinta 6 libras y pico lo que son cerca de 8 euros y pico... Recomendable la visita

First visit to gongoozler and we were so well welcomed. The cafe is easily accessible with lots of space between tables. We shared afternoon tea for two and the scone with cream and jam was the highlight so buttery and delicious. The hot drinks included were refillable and the staff were spot on checking in with us throughout our time there. It was raining at the time but to sit outside and see the canal would be lovely next time.

Outstanding service. It was my son's birthday and the lovely staff went 'above and beyond'. They looked after us so well with a personal touch and we are very grateful for their kindness. A friendly, welcoming place. ĹThank you

Slow service but lovely food and drink

We spent the day at black country museum, I'd pre booked afternoon tea for a treat for my daughters birthday, the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful, we were lucky to have a sunny day and sat on the outside balcony, beautiful location. The food and drinks were exceptional, very fresh and plentiful, we couldn't manage it all, and bought some home. Its a wonderful place to visit, and will Deffinatly be back. Thank you 😊

The disabled lift was broken when we went but I'm sure it will be fixed soon. To tell the truth we did have to wait a while but the food was beautiful. Menu consists mainly of hot and cold cobs ( bread rolls ) with the options for sides. Hot and cold drinks available too. Can get busy and limited seating available. Gongoozler means someone who sits and watching boats go by and the canal is visible from the cafe. The bacon sausage and tomato cob was the best I have had in a long time! £20 for 4 meals and drinks was a fair price.

They were very friendly and helpful.

The staff are absolutely first class. Obviously a very busy day as it was a themed event on site but they never skipped a beat. Cleaned and tidied the area spotlessly. Food was very good across the menu. My only gripe was the access point which was not ideal when it became an exit point. You require a ticket to leave which we did not have as we booked online and so had to borrow someones ! Otherwise itvwas very much worth a visit.

I came in for a boat trip which was excellent and well informed however my experience certainly changed when i arrived upstairs at the gongoozler cafe, the ladies on the till were lovely and helpful however when trying to order a bacon sarnie i was told they only serve baps? Although on the menu it states sarnies/baps this has never been an issue before so i dont understand why it is now? How hard is it to swap a cob to a piece of bread?!?!

Popped in for a coffee but looking at all the food being served it was tempting

Lovely little venue overlooking canal

Attended a private function at the Gongoozler and had a fabulous time. Really friendly and hard working staff. The buffet put on was great and the drinks service was good. Nice selection of local ales available. Really lovely location on the canal edge overlooking the BCLM. Wheelchair accessible as a 96 year old relative had no trouble accessing the venue in her wheelchair. Plenty of parking with an honesty box for donations.

A lovely place to go on a sunny afternoon. Enjoyed tea and cake al fresco, looking at the boats on the canal.

Only stopped in for a coffee which was good it is a really nice place. The only thing i didnt like was the fact that you weren't allowed to Smoke or vape outside on the balcony smokers are people too!

We stayed waiting for boat trip it was great.

We always call in here after going on the 'Tunnel Tots' canal trip on a Wednesday morning. Great value and excellent range of hot food or snacks available. Our grandson loves the chocolate fudge cake, and it certainly is delicious. They do a great afternoon tea, but you need to book in advance. Bright and airy with great views of the canal and tunnel.

We have just held our daughter's wedding here. What a fantastic venue. The food was unbelievable, the staff were out of this world and made it a truly magical day. I cannot thank them enough. X

Treated my friend to afternoon tea for her 60th birthday after we had our canal and tunnel tour. Everything was lovely and tasty and fresh. The staff were very attentive nothing was too much trouble.

I've bought a group here today the food was great there are concessions for drivers free parking and a cuppa I was thankful for this as it is pretty cold on the coach, breakfast was £8 photo above . The staff are very friendly and welcoming as well

The atmosphere, venue and service were good. Just found the breakfast average at best and slightly overpriced. Nothing terrible, but nothing special either.

I've been here a number of times. Sadly they seemed to have stopped some of their GF cakes. Although the jacket potatoes were good.

Booked and attended afternoon tea for 6. Staff pleasant , friendly and welcoming. Food served very promptly and was lplentiful and lovely. Price was very good. Gave us boxes to bring home what we couldn't manage to finish.

A nice place to call in, have a snack or even a full breakfast and watch the canal. They serve really nice cake along with freshly made tea or coffee.

Tunnel tots is ace run by wonderful volunteers! The cafe is great. Always got dairy free butter, plant milks & sometimes some vagan cake. Yum! X

Arranged afternoon tea for my wife and I. Preordered 1 sweet and 1 savoury tea. When we arrived Megan had reserved a table on the outside terrace and also inside the building in case of inclement weather. As it was a bright sunny day we chose the terrace overlooking the canal and boats. Service was prompt and excellent. Ample servings of both sweet and savoury food which left us both leaving well fed. Drinks were served hot and exactly as ordered. Megan our waitress was efficient and attentive. Excellent service and location.

We visited the cafe twice and just had drinks. They were good and we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony overlooking the canal. Staff were friendly too. We even came over from the Blackcountry Museum as it was nicer sitting here! Shame about the toilets though….they needed some attention!

A lovely well maintained settingwith well tended gardens over looking the historic canal, boats and tunnel entrance as well as the heritage buildings of BCLM. A great range of yummy offerings and refreshments with friendly service, all embracing the Covid restrictions without them spoiling the ambience of the surroundings. Well worth a visit for a meal or cake and coffee.

Visited yesterday for an afternoon tea with Prosecco what my daughter had purchased for us. This was amazing cakes and scones were beautiful along with the finger sandwiches. Felt very safe inside with lots of space between tables, table service and the new NHI app to book in. Well done to the Gongoozler. The young girl that looked after us was excellent especially as she seemed to be serving, ordering wiping tables preparing the food without her the wheels would have stopped. I don’t know her name but she was on shift at 13:00 yesterday. She definitely needs a pay rise.

Amazing venue to hire. All the staff were so amazing. Really helpful . Matt couldnt have been more helpful or obliging . Really made a special birthday memorable. Dudley canal trust is lucky to have these members of staff cannot recommend enough Sue and Nerissa

Very nice place, staff lovely. Clean tables with a view out to the canal. The afternoon tea was plentiful, four finger sandwiches each and plenty of cake plus a scone with cream and jam each! I’m not sure it was worth the full price but I had a half price offer which was well worth it. Would definitely go again. Thank you 😊

my husband and i this morning at 10.45 arrived at the gongoozler hoping for breakfast which is advertised. All tables seemed to be reserved for lunch or afternoon tea. The one young girl who was not chewing gum said they are all reserved for afternoon tea bear in mind the time.The other girl said table one is available and there is only what is on the menu obviously no breakfast, we walked out in disgust.Obviously looking at the reviews the manager never goes on trip advisor.People who come from all over the country would be shocked and saddened by the manaagment and staff who are employed here.I shall advise people not to use this restaurant until there is achange of management and staff.

I visited quite early on a weekend morning with family for coffee and a quick lunch. Lots of the tables were reserved for Sunday lunch but there were notices on the tables saying when they needed to be free from which was helpful. We ordered coffees, sandwiches and a jacket potato, which were brought out quickly and were tasty. There's a nice view out over the canal and the Black Country Museum, especially with the sun shining. My only criticism is that there didn't seem to be a sandwich option for a young child to have for lunch, at least on the day we visited I couldn't see one. The main menu has children's meals but they're all cooked options (pizza, nuggets, sausages, etc) that my little one wouldn't eat. They may do a kid's lunch box option in the week but we visited on a Sunday so it may not have been available then.

Attended for prebooked afternoon tea with a friend, in the middle of a weekday. We waited at the til for attention on arrival for a considerably long time despite two girls working there having seen me and not doing anything. A young lad came out and politelt directed us to the table, asked whether we would like tea/coffee. Less than 5 minutes later out came a large pot of tea and a 3 tier afternoon tea selection. The girl that brought it out put it on the table with no explanation of what was on it and left. It turned out to be ham sandwiches and cheese and onion sandwiches (not quite what you usually get). It also included 4 scones, 2 chocolate cake, 2 carrot cake and 2 slices of lemon cake. The scones were terribly dry, and the lemon cake burnt. The staff unfortunately lack skills in customer service, and the quality of the food is poor. The setting is however lovely, and I am happy to have supported the Trust in some way.

we arrived for afternoon tea we were told we needed to wait in the cafe queue.All young girls who seemed to be happy talking.we where asked what drinks we wanted tea arrived in mugs everyone else had cups.afternoon arrived loads snadwich which where plenty but only Ham and cheese & onion which where quit dry.Cakes where lovely. scaone of which there was four we diddn't receieve any butter and only one spoon of jam, which we had to ask for extra Jam.people who arrived before 4pm ordered there food and then where put off after being told they 1 hour to eat. Because they closed at 5pm. staff just standing about talking when at 4.30pm. Must say lovely place but staff all very young and no overall management.

Save time and money don't visit. Staff uninterested in their customers, disorganised , slow and food is mediocre.

Visited for a wedding anniversary treat with my husband and elderly parents, wished i hadn't of bothered, dry, curled up sandwiches which consisted of mainly tuna (which none of us eat) cut into triangles with the crust left on, scones with a small amount of cream and jam, small slice of Madeira, chocolate cake and the cupcakes looked like a child had made them, nothing tasted fresh so left most of it, had many high teas in the past and this was by far the worst, would not recommend, very disappointed.

Today 13/7/2019 myself and my mother attend the gongoozler for food the cue was very long as it was 1940s my mother felt unwell so I took her outside for some air losing my place in the cue a member of staff a young lady by the name of joanne assisted myself and my mother she was wonderful this beautiful young lady took our order and she took the time to make our visit worthwhile even thou they where very very busy to assist myself and my mother we did wait 30 minutes for food but it was worth it piping hot JOANNE YOU ARE A STAR and thank you for talking the time to talk with us and making my mother smile again THANK YOU X

First time I've been to this restaurant for afternoon tea and it was nice. My only real criticism was that the sandwiches were only cheese based. We are not vegan or vegetarian so some meat or Tuna or something else would have made it better.

Visited following a boat trip on the canal and very impressed by the quality of the cakes which were served up. Tasty, very appealing and great sized portions; a wonderful accompaniment to a coffee.

I haven't actually eaten here,but the food looks very nice! Right next door to the Black Country museum, the Gongoozler is part of the Dudley Canal Trust. Lovely building , disabled friendly, it's a great place to have a drink especially in the summer. The have an outside terrace which overlooks the canal. Why not take a boat trip while you're there? They are great fun! I would recommend this place to anyone!

This is our go to when visiting the Black country museum. The menu is varied including special diet options, extremely reasonable and the roasts are top quality and gorgeous! We've always been served quickly and the food has arrived promptly. The staff are so friendly and helpful and happy to adapt one of the meals when asked.

We have visited a few times, sometimes the food is ok, sometimes they’ve stopped serving (an hour before closing).

Service was friendly, the table clearing especially efficient. The gluten free carrot cake was delicious and moist while the pot of tea was a generous 3 cups. Sitting on the balcony in the sun was an excellent way to while away some time.

This was AMAZING. Very tasty, great value ... 3 courses and wonderful attentive staff. We will return. Keep up the hard work. This was also speedy service. This is a clean friendly place that caters for everyone. Thank you

Lovely cafe with lovely staff. Good selection of hot and cold food. We decided to have scones which were very good.

The food was absolutely disgusting!!! They were sold out of faggots, all pies, all fish and all sausages!! So we all had a sandwich or a burger. The burgers were disgusting and cheap and the sandwiches looked and tasted like kids party sandwiches!!! Will not be eating there again!! Very disappointing! Only go there for a drink do not go for a meal!
