Booked a table for a family lunch, fantastic attention to detail during these times. Was met at the door by a staff member,escorted to a clean socially distanced table, very comfortable, excellent service, amazing choice of meals, great value, and very attentive staff

First time out with my wife for a meal in a very long time. Food at the Hungry Horse in Coatbridge could not be faulted and proved to be great value for money. The restaurant staff were exceptional and very friendly and efficient. All Covid standards were in place and staff were very compliant. Now that things have started to ease my wife and I will be regulars at the Barbridge.

Had an absolutely amazing meal. Portions are soooo big 😁 and prices so small. I totally recommend the burger sizzler combo! The staff are so friendly and helpfull they can't do enough for you. I felt very safe with everything they have in place 👍🤗

Had our christmas dinner and it was out of this world more than enough food to feed an army and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcom and give us a very special day i highly recomend this resturant to everyone you will not be disappointed.

Great Christmas dinner today, great service and staff. Covid has affected all of us, but to be able to go for Christmas dinner was the highlight of our the December. Full Social distance measures strictly adhered to by staff, just fantastic service. We felt safe and secure in thier care. This visit made our bleck 2020 a wee bit more bearable. Popped in today for lunch. We hadn’t booked and the girl informed us of how to use the track and trace and then shown us to a table. We ordered food through the app. Food arrived in great time and was lovely. Chips hot and fresh. All team who served us were chatty and friendly. Hopefully be back soon if there’s not another lockdown.

Great meal and great service from very friendly staff, Alan and Lauren. The atmosphere was cosy and the food and drinks were served very quickly. I have no complaints and would certainly recommend a visit to this restaurant!

Was here a few weeks back and once again we couldn't fault the place even with all the restrictions in place, the staff managed to make our dining experience as normal as possible, our meal was great as always, place never lets us down, thanks again to management and all the staff, keep up the good work and we will see you again soon!

We have visited this place ever week since reopening from lockdown as it is the only place we have visited locally that has taken restrictions above and beyond what is expected so we feel really comfortable rating and drinking here. The food menu is extensive and every day has a different deal to take advantage off. Drinks are good and not to expensive either. Would recommend this place to anyone.Also have to mention the staff who are so friendly and always happy to help. Will be missed during this mini lockdown.

Can't praise the staff enough they are so helpful and the manager Elaine goes above and beyond with any query u have.. Food is always spot on and with all this pandemic going on they are always happy and helpful

Took my kids for dinner last week and wow, how do they do the portions for the price they charge? The food was delicious and the staff were all really friendly. We visited the Vulcan a few days before and the difference in Covid safe was unbelievable. All staff were wearing masks, we had plenty of space round us and it generally felt very clean. We had visited not long after this pub opened and never returned after an extremely poor visit but now will not hesitate to go back. Amazing.

Food was shocking. First and last time I will be here. Lentil soup shocking. Full of raw lentils. Asked for medium rare steak got welldone. The steak was fired on the plate without resting. Therefore everything around it was a soggy mess.

Came here for breakfast with my 2 children. This is the first restaurant I have been to after lockdown lifted. I was impressed with how the restaurant had implemented procedures to keep everyone distanced and safe, and the staff were excellent. We really enjoyed our meal and was great value for money.

Went for dinner with my friends - was our 1st visit - menu was amazing - so much to chose from - we got sharing platter and chicken kebab - we will defo be back - staff were very helpful also

Came in on Thursday and was served by Darren who was excellent and helped with any questions we had and made us feel at ease with all the new rules etc with current situation was pretty uneasy about going out for a meal but he made it so relaxing and easy and we did really enjoy it so thank you very much for making out vist enjoyable and the food was amazing aswell!

Visited for first time since lockdown and what can I say, everything was first class from the minute we entered to the minute we left. All the measures put in place made us feel safe and the staff were friendly and attentive, despite being extremely busy, (so glad we pre booked our table) We used the app which was quick and easy meaning we never had to leave our table. I couldn’t believe the price of our meals given the quality of food, which was delicious. Already planning our next visit!

Stopped by on the way to Edinburgh. Glad we did. Had 2 great value Scottish breakfasts and lattes. Great food and great staff. Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend.

We visited as our first family meal out since lockdown restrictions were lifted. Any concerns we had were quickly gone as the Barbridge was so well organised and the staff were beyond helpful. They talked us through around the new one way system and detail collection (which we didn't need tk leave as we booked through the app so our details were already there) We ordered all our food through the app and the drinks and food were brought promptly and it was delicious. We had 3 starters, 4 mains and a kids meal and the quality was perfect. The service was first class and the visit was so relaxing given the change in circumstances. This pub was a credit to how things should operate and the food quality was the highest standard as always. We had a sharing platter, chicken wings and nachos to start then four burger meals and a kids meal. I could not recommend enough to anyone.

My husband and I went here when it first opened and really enjoyed our meal, however the second time we went wasn't so good. The vegetables were dried out and the chips were cold. The cutlery we were given was dirty and over all the place didn't have a very good atmosphere. When restrictions were lifted and restaurants re-opened we decided to try again and we were really impressed. Hand sanitizer was at the front door and we were met by a member of staff who was really informative about new guidelines within the restaurant. We could order via the app or at the bar. We opted for the bar as my husband has allergies. The staff took time to talk to us about there experiences as this is a learning curve for everyone. The toilets were one out one in and we exited through the back door. There is stickers on the floor to show which direction to go in and our meals were delicious. I had the smothered steak sizzler and my husband had the 12oz rump steak. We've actually already booked for another visit.

Booked a table for a family meal. As usual the restaurant didn’t let us down. Food was lovely and fast service. Staff were all amazing and explained anything we were unsure about with the new measures put in place at the moment. The restaurant is very well laid out and the one way system was easy to follow. The place was very clean and lots of hand sanitiser is available. We all had a great night and looking forward to booking another table in a couple of weeks.

Visited last week. Food actually really nice. Service not so good. Tables not cleared for all courses. Uncomfortable when you have kids. Dinner plates never removed for desert. Asked several times no one cleared it. Also had to ask eight times for mayo that should have came with starter. Waitress pointed to mayo on table. Yeah that would have been great if it actually had any in it so food lovely service dreadful

Visited the Barrbridge for the first time tonight despite meaning to go for so long. Upon entering I scanned for signs as to whether we find our own seats or not however a waitress passed by saying I'll be with you in a minute and then came over telling us where we could find our own seats! We chose our seats which were one of the few without the previous diners plates. I ordered our meals from the extensive menu, using the app and our drinks arrived quickly followed by very delicious haggis fritter and halloumi finger starters. The table next to ours had left at this point. We then waited around half an hour for our mains and when they did eventually arrive they looked very sad. 2 burgers and chips that had seen better days, were cold on roasting hot plates and the chips on my husbands plate were old and shrivelled like they had been made hours ago. The plate looked pathetic as it was too big for the portion (which was adequate but daft looking when chips were scattered on the plate). It looked unappetizing and it tasted that way too!The steak my son ordered was not well done but was only the £7.49 nude steak so I guess you get what you pay for. He was so disappointed. The staff were friendly though!

read the reviews BUT like to find out for myself. well! just like the reviewers stated ,shambles, find your own table, clear off the mess from last diner onto any vacant tablego ask for a cloth and wipe same table,,then go to bar counter order and pay for meals..then be told anything from 30mins up to an hour wait...lol...at least 20 percent of people leave or ask for money back ..the food we received was fine BUT the kiddies chicken slices were bone dry [ needed a sauce or gravy ] complained at bar .,they asked kitchen for gravy ...still waiting 20 mins later ..complained to manager who to be fair offered full refund ,but as adult meals were ok just took money back for dry chicken meal..[ to be fair manager was very nice and no problem] looks like a higher management problem in this restaurant..wont be back..

Was handed cleaning products to clean our own table, food took nearly an hour to come, staff behind the bar was swearing for everyone to hear, loud very very rude. Once the food came it was cold and not worth the money at all! Over all very very disappointing. The only thing that wasn’t disappointing was the variety of choice on the menu.

We visited recently and there was amazing deals on with 40% off main meals.Staff as always are great and food yummy.My only fault this time was my Piri Piri sauce was poured over my Mix it up chicken and it was too much , i only like small amount as it can be too hot . Great value though .

Barrbridge at first look is clean. Has a a playpark for the kids. Staff are very polite. Menu could do with an update

My family and I recently visited for a meal and we had two of the mixed grills and one of the kids meals. The food was served quick and was absolutely delicious. The staff were so professional and friendly. They checked our food was ok and even spent time interacting with our 4 year old son who loved it. We will definitely be back as we are never disappointed with this restaurant. Great food, great staff, great value just a great experience.

Visited the Barrbridge during December and again it didn't let us down during a busy night, greeted with the usual smile and polite staff, they're always great with our wee one as well, I went for the mixed grill and wasn't disappointed, great big portion and just what I needed after a hectic day, the husband went for the curry which went down a treat, thanks again to all at the Barrbridge for a great meal and great service, will be back again soon!

The food was great,beer was nice,chef Wilson Came out to make sure food was fine and he also got us more sauce for the pasta for kids (kids like more sauce)lol Will return again 👍

I like this family friendly restaurant. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food is really tasty and good value for money. The place is nice and welcoming with a country style pub feel vibe. I go here about twice a month and would recommend it.

Always met by warm and friendly staff and a great service , food is always very good and arrives quickly.

The portions in here are incredible, the other two people in my party got meat platters and loved them however I’m a veggie and ordered the fried halloumi & chips....I could eat halloumi until the day I die however this was a bit too much to handle...the slices of halloumi need to be thinner as this dish is basically just raw ungrilled 4” thick halloumi bricks with a coating of batter on them

I visited your restaurant today with my young daughter and after arriving placing order and receiving drinks I received a call from a customer informing me a pipe had burst and was flooding her house(I'm a plumber) upon realising I had no time I had to leave. Your staff where amazing and said thehy would put the order on hold until I returned (very accommodating). After returning nearly an hour later I was given fresh drink, seated and served food in 10 mins. Thanks for going out your way for me and my daughter. 5 star service and will keep coming back.

We went out for a lunch and the Christmas specials were on I had the fried chicken skewers and peri peri sauce and my colleague had a mixed grill . Both meals were well cooked and very tasty . I was surprised as I didn’t expect it to be as good. Hopefully this will stay on the menu all year round. I would go back again.

Decided to pop in for a speed munch before going to the movies wi the boss.Panicked a wee bit about the time as the car park was busy and i figured we'd be pushing it to get fed before the film started. Decided to go for fish and chips and boss went for chicken & mushy pie. Got to the bar to order and a young woman was blethering to the only person available to take the order.Turns out she was due to start her shift soon and was taking advantage of some kids deal that was on that night. Kids kept appearing to ask her about their orders throughout the conversation which started to worry me as time was flying by rapidly. Ideally another till should have been on with staff ready to take our order.I waited about 8 minutes whilst listening to the off duty staff member talking, but it seemed a lot longer as i had somewhere to be. When i finally got to the till and the woman left, the staff member realised the card payment had not went through and had to go and get the woman again ,i was demented. I thought my movie was pumped at this point and i'd miss the first 5 minutes but amazingly it wisnae, the lassie sorted it out and our food arrived within about 5 minutes. My fish and chips were great, crispy batter and moist fish plus loads of tasty chips,and the boss said the pie was tasty but too much to manage, not a bad complaint it was "all good in the hood".We had to move sharpish to catch the trailers at the cinema but just made it. A good visit but we'll try to avoid the kids night next time.

We visited on a sunday night around 6pm. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but when we arrived there was an offer of 20% off food if you order using the app. There was already an offer for 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals with a sharing dessert for £16, we thought we were getting a bargain. So we ordered on the app but i didn't want cheese on my meal, there was no section to say that on the app so i had to go to the counter and notify a member of staff. There was only 1 customer in front of me, who was being refunded for 3 roast dinners which even the staff member said were inedible. Our food arrived after a reasonable amount of time, 1st kids meal was pizza which just looked like a thick stodgy frozen pizza. 2nd kids meal, a burger that was watery and bun was like cardboard. My partner had mac and cheese that looked no better than out a cheap tin. I had the chicken new yorker, with cold onion rings and maybe a dozen fries. We still had dessert to come, Ultimate Candy mania, sounds amazing. The photos on the menu show overloads of different chocolates, cookies and sweets in this big bowl of mixed ice cream. Well this sharing dessert had 2 twix fingers and 4 malteasers, mostly cheap vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, with the smallest drizzle of chocolate sauce. For the entire time we were there, roughly 1 hour 15mins, 2 tables near us still hadnt been cleared while cleaning products were left lying on another table nearby. Loads of staff seemed to be walking past constantly making themselves look busy while not really being productive. I would have hated to see the state of the place if it was busy. It has definitely went downhill since our last visit, and based on tonights performance we wont be back.

I can't praise this place enough for last Saturday night. We had a 16th birthday celebration for my daughter , I thought we would have around 25 guests and nearly 30 showed up in total. The food was great, the service was great, nothing was too much trouble from bringing out cake to taking pictures !! The staff made the night so lovely, everyone had a fantastic time - I did want to praise 1 person in particular but I can't remember her name (I had had a couple of drinks by the time I left) She was on that night and then working again the next afternoon when I took up a box of chocolates to say thank you - so if you can pass on my thanks, she will know who she is, but to be honest all the staff were fab - thank you all !

Love coming here but only when it’s off peak as less mistakes are made. The food is great, had the chickpea curry and devoured it! Portions are a bit extreme but we used the app to book so four mains and four drinks (two bring alcohol) was only £35 :)

After being told they were short staffed and waited 20 minutes to order at the bar, things went down hill. Food arrived quickly but one order was wrong and the other one (cheeseburger and chips) was not edible. Chips were cold and the burger and the bun were both burnt with a plastic looking cheese slice placed on top. My husbands curry was okay when he received it but nothing special. Manager was friendly and listen to our concerns but no refund was offered and we decided we just wouldn’t be back. It has a nice varied menu but others around us had a similar experience.

Visited The Barrbridge for lunch and was very impressed. Nice pleasant surroundings with a helpful staff. A nice touch was the area celebrating some of the sports and personalities from the local area, Ricky Burns (Bixing) Glasgow Tigers (Speedway) Albion Rovers (Football) and Mark Millar (Comic books). Meals were really good and a huge plateful. Neither my wife or I could eat all that was in front of us. There certainly was no waiting around as were presented with our food very quickly. Very reasonably priced as well, we’ll certainly be returning.

The Barbridge was nice and very relaxing to have a meal and the staff are very friendly the only thing that lets it down as i think a lot of the food is reheated and over done but like everywhere you find the meal you love

I visited on a Monday afternoon with a friend for an early dinner. The restaurant was quiet when we visited with only a few other diners. We sat in a comfy booth and the surroundings were warm and comfortable. We ordered the steak sizzler with a sauce and choice of two sides. I ordered the Caribbean sauce, fries and coleslaw. MY friend had her steak with BBQ sauce, Mexican rice and onion rings. The food arrived on a sizzling skillet, the steak was cooked medium to perfection and sat on a bed of onions and peppers. The fries were lightly seasoned and tasty. The coleslaw was, for my taste, a little dry but I added mayonnaise from the bottle brought to the table when we received our food. The Caribbean sauce was not to my liking so I had some of my friend's BBQ sauce as there was plenty in the sauce boat for both of us to share. We had the Millionaires cheesecake with Vanilla Ice Cream to finish and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We had soft drinks with our food. Total cost was @ £35 which was great value.

Great dinner at Barrbridge before going to the cinema with my boyfriend and brother. We all really enjoyed our meal and I had a 40% off voucher which made it even better!

Waited over an hour for starters which were wrong, supposedly we should have been advised on the long wait for food when we booked the table. Which we weren’t. One of the kid’s meal cam out wrong. Waited fifteen minutes at the bar for two waters. Four out of the seven who were in the party have ended up unwell. The cheeseburger was like cardboard. First visit here and I certainly won’t be back.

Been here a few times and not had a decent meal yet. Today we had the sharing combo plate which was all deep fried and dried up. The scampi was over-done, tasted burnt and tainted by the oil. Balmoral chicken wasn't great, streaky bacon was awful, hard and burnt and had peppercorn sauce on the top instead of the whiskey cream sauce.

First time visit with family. They have great deals one for every day of the week, offering kids meals at £1, pint and burger for fiver etc. Have to order food yourself very wetherspoons type vibe. The food seemed cheap, nothing special at all. Kids carrot sticks looked dry and shrivelled. They use the cheap omega 3 fish fingers.

First off had nice chill atmosphere, staff lovey and attentive.

Lots of different combinations to choose we had 2 meals tenner’ish. Wasn’t busy when we called in, served quickly. Food nice, plate didn’t look complete, a little salad garnish would’ve been great.

We liked the idea of the Fixed Price meals for two for set fee.

visited here with a family of 7 kids and 4 adults which is no easy task for us and the staff but they were amazing and very kind evening after one of the youngest decided to knock his plate on the ground great service and a special thanks to cheryl for helping is and bringing us down a couple of notches on the stress scale.

I have never seen and tasted as bad pub grub as this place!!! Everything is battered and greasy and processed. I ordered haloumi fingers for starters, you could only taste grease from the batter, same with the haggis fritters.

Fantastic evening at this restaurant. Especially the service from a girls keira and caitland. The beer and food where top notch. Will definitely be going back.

Visited the Barrbridge tonight for a few drinks and some entertainment for my friends 30th birthday. There was a great selection of drinks. We were served all night by the lovely Keira.. an absolute delight. Knowledgeable of the food and drinks menu and served with a smile all night. X

Visited this restaurant on many occasions and never had any complaints. Food has always been fantastic and customer service amazing. Nice restaurant to go with the family and always has a nice friendly atmosphere. Always enjoy visiting and never had any complaints.

Nipped in on the way home from the Fort. We had halloumi fries which were yummy. Good if you can't be bothered cooking.

My wife and I had a lovely meal here earlier today, we were greeted by a lovely waitress called Courtney who was such a cheerfull soul. The restaurant was very family orientated and nicely decorated. I had the big plate chicken tikka (which was amazing....didn't expect that!) also came with 3 onion bhajis, chips, naan bread, poppadoms and mango chutney and my wife had the crispy chicken with curry sauce, both meals were very substansule and we both couldnt even finish it. would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definatly be back soon as there is so much on the menu that i would like to try.

Another cracking night in the barrbrige, celebrating our 20th anniversary with close friends. Food was excellen, great atmosphere. Jamie, colin and all the staff were excellent, free bottle of champagne for our gift from all the staff. Couldn't rate this place highly enough would recommend to everyone

Had a great meal at the Barrbridge with my friends . The staff are very nice and helpful . The food was perfect and came out in no time . Lauren was our waitress and was fantastic at doing so . nothing was too much bother .An asset to the Barrbridge team .

Very disappointed with our visit tonight (Wednesday 3 July) we come to this place quite a lot as usually the food is good. Well tonight was a different story, my dad was taking us for dinner and we had the fish and chips his was a little greasy however when I turned my fish over the grease that came out of it was disgusting. I had to use a napkin to get some of the grease off my fish and my plate, it was saturated in oil. I had to find a member of staff to let them know that the meal was not very nice and they asked if I wanted something else. In which I ordered the chicken and mushroom pie, it came after my dad and daughter had finished their meals, and it looked lovely however it was so dry. On saying that I could have poured the congealed gravy over the top but that was not an option at this point. My dads cup of tea came after his meal although ordered it with the meal, did say to the member of staff however it never came. Once again I had to go up to the bar and get the tea. I don’t like complaining but it was just awful tonight and I feel that I won’t be back for a while. I have to say that they really need more staff as there is just no customer service. We sat for ages waiting on someone clearing the table so that I could let them know about the food but no one came near us and we left. Although the staff are nice (when you see them that is) the overall customer service is dire and needs to change. Very disappointed

It is the worse place I have ever ate in. It was dirty not cleaned well including the cutlery, we couldn’t get anything but tap water for outlet child no bottled water, we both ordered the haggis fritters for starters and the grease coming out of them was unbelievable they tasted like they had been pulled out the freezer and right into the deep fat fryer! I got macaroni for main and it tasted just like the tin of Heinz my partner got a rump steak which had more fat than meat the only thing we both ate was the chips and my daughters garlic bread was fine, the food came quick enough but we paid £40 for this which is an amazing price but not worth it you get better from the local cafe at half the price will definitely not be going back would never recommend it ever

I attended here with my family and the service was great, we were welcomed by the friendly and helpful KIRSTY who made us feel very welcomed and attended to our needs through out our visit. The food was tasty and cooked to perfection. Will defo recommendation to friends

I was in with my family for a meal. The service was great especially Kirsty. Very attentive and professional. No request was denied regardless of how fickle. The food was good, not amazing but given the price I wasn’t expecting Michelin star quality. So your getting what you pay for. The service though is above and beyond.

The service we received from kirsty was outstanding you could tell she was busy but that didn't stop her from going out of her way to make sure we were happy with everything would definitely recommend and we will be back

We visit the Barrbridge regularly the staff are so friendly they can’t do enough for you when you go in especially the barman Jamie Keira and Kirsty they are always very attentive to there customers even when it is exceptionally busy

When we arrived we waited for quite a while at the door for our table despite having a reservation in-fact another group had cued behind us.

Lovely place to attend. Shocking lack of staff. Sign says wait to be served. No one came after waiting for ages. Spoke to the bar man after regulars obviously knew what they where doing ordered before us. The bar man was stressed. Says he’s always getting the flack of complains due to short staff. Any way. Rant over !!!! Best to say hear see if anything is done about it.

Can not fault this place, another tasty meal, had a burger and a steak, both were delicious and at a fantastic price. The range of drinks is also impressive. We always enjoy coming to The Barrbridge!!

We really enjoy going here as there is an adults only section to relax, food and drinks and great value, there is a young lady I’m sure she is called Kirsty she is always very helpful and attentive when we are there

We had a table for 15 for our dad's 70th birthday. All were very happy with the food and great service from Kirsty was much appreciated. Not an easy task with 6 kids at the table! Would definitely return.

I frequently go back to barrbridge hungry horse with my family there are loads of us and some of them can be challenging lol we are always met with absolutely top notch service the most comfortable place to eat with children. Kirsty Lowe is the best in the business she’s literally always there yet she never doesn’t have a nice word to say and is so friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too big an ask it can get quite busy in there and Kirsty never complains she still provides 5 star customer service to every customer. She’s is an asset my family love her seriously give the woman a pay rise she deserves it she runs a well oiled tight ship that I would recommend everyone to go to for food or just a drink prices are very good also and range of food is perfect.

Use this place often as it’s in a good location. Along with some Friends we visited on Saturday for food and drinks and to watch the football. Service was great we where served by Vega very friendly and polite. The food arrived in good time and was well presented and was piping hot and tasted good.

Visited on a Sunday, late afternoon and managed to get a table no problem.

Please please clean menus, they are very sticky, I bring wet wipes to clean them when I come, also have to get spray bottle from staff to wipe tabled

Went in with family for the kids eat for £1 with paying adult and till worker never processed this so paid full whack

It’s situated in a handy area for both barged die and Coatbridge. It’s just off the motorway but more advertising would encourage other travelers to pop in. The staff are lovely and the service is fast. The food is basic but it’s value for money.

Popped into the bar grill for the first time and was glad that we did.the menu has a wide range of food to choose from.it also has great deals on food and the prices are very good.ouur order was taken quickly and drinks served also,the meals came quite quickly and tasted delicious, a fist time visit but not the last ,wi be definitely come again,one thing more the staff are lovely.

I wanted to sample the rather large burger on the menu - overcooked but would have been tasty otherwise. Staff friendly enough and the booths with integrated tv are good for the kids. Menus need to be cleaned.
