First time using for a takeaway.The food was tasteless and bland .Chips and pancake rolls very oily and greasy.Egg fried rice mushy no taste to chicken chow mein.

Chips ok rice ok ribs ok crispy beef ok However never in my life have i a seen a chowmein like it absolutely vile no sauce either just mush. And the chicken balls were dry and tasteless.

Very good experience, and fastest take out ever! Literally ready within 5 minutes, just enough time to drink a pint 🍻

Had a dine in meal last night with a friend as belated birthday meal plus a meal for my wife's birthday. Buffet menu was the order of day, brilliant to choose from so many choices, and try a bit of each.

Visited on a Friday evening. Having young urchins with us we arrived early. Withing 20 mins of opening the place was filling up. Fantastic friendly service from the moment we arrived. Not had one of these all you can eat buffets before and I must say it is so much nicer than queuing with 'the public' to get to trays if food. Ordered some starters and we were encouraged to order more things to try. The crab claws weren't very good but the rest was banging! The kids ate about 4 portions of rubs, they were very good. We all ordered mains and sides and again when we were half way through those we were asked if we wanted to order anything else. We ordered some more mains and sides. The noodles were amazing. It was all really really good food. Fresh and really tasty. Table of 4, lots to eat, drinks and a takeaway for 2 came to less than £20 per head. Will definitely be back.

Was expecting a lovely Chinese after reading the 5* reviews, got home and it was absolutely tasteless, hardly no chips, chicken fried rice was egg fried rice instead and beef chow mein was more like noodles with vegetables on top no sauce, our ribs was all bone covered in a little bit of meat. Absolutely mortified.

Utterly awful food. Tasteless, not fresh weirdly chewy chicken. Pancake roll saturated in fat. Oddest kung po chicken I've ever had. Not like normal takeaway, nor was it even remotely authentic. Prawn crackers were clearly precooked and had gone stale and chewy. Cannot however fault the service. Shame the food didn't live up to the service.

This is a perfect chinese treat. Went for the buffet meal and it was delicious. You can literally keep ordering and eat as much as you like. You won’t be disappointed or hungry when you leave.

Peking duck was delicious. Lemon chicken was fantastic! Noodles were super salty and the sweet and sour chicken sauce was spicy (never experienced that before). Good value for money but not consistent quality

We normally have buffet due to prefere small portions & different tastes, at this time it was disgusting. Raw prawns full of stock pot and not sure what was in there I had to take it out of my mouth due the taste and smell, duck served as a starter awful taste, chicken served with lemon uneatable, starters full of oil all tasting the same just noodles and beef were pretty tasty. On the end and with plates pretty full I mentioned how bad it was and the lady loudly laughed on my face, after I say it wasn't a joke I've been completely ignored nobody came to even ask what was the problem, disgusting will not come back for sure.

Staff where outstanding, food was even better, atmosphere was great , even though we where the loudest table , I highly recommend it was fantastic from being to end 😀 👌 👍

Ordered duck with plum sauce as take away. Actual dish no plum sauce just pineapple flavour and chunks of pineapple under the duck. Would have been great if that was what I had ordered but I wanted duck with plum sauce. Spoke to restaurant and was told that is how they do it. First and last time I have duck from here. Shame as food normally good. Attitude of staff not good, no apology just blunt statement and then ‘goodbye’ and phone put down. Not good customer service….

We are staying in the area and decided to have a family meal out for my partners birthday. Going on previous reviews we chose Hum-Ming Garden and I’m so glad we did. From the very start we were treated lovely by all the staff. The food was so fresh and tasty and the bill was extremely reasonable. Great place to eat out in my opinion.

Love the buffet here, the food is at the same standard as the a la carte menu but in smaller portions and you can have as many different dishes as you are able to eat. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and are really friendly. Highly recommend.

Just had tea for two adults and two children. One of the best chinese meals we have had. Food is great quality, service is brilliant. Clean and relaxing atmosphere. Buffet menu is lovely, lots if variety, cooked to order so will not leave hungry. Very good pricing too. Well worth the trip from the Forest if Dean to Hereford. Highly reccomend.

Wouldn't recommend. Had a takeaway (and maybe that was part of the problem), and found it to be of poor quality. There was no depth to the flavour in any of the dishes, and none really stood out. Disappointing not to see prawn crackers come with the order as is standard, but wouldn't have mattered if food was good quality. Also managed to mess up our order, providing us with a meat version of their 'veggie special', containing prawns, beef and chicken. Not sure why/ how that happened - but poor all round. Had to go back to correct when realised it was wrong - costing us time and money. Given 2 stars as they at least had the decency to give us back the price difference between the dishes. Would have been better to refund the whole dish as a way of an apology, but guess that's not how they operate.

Excellent food varied menu. Great outside areas

We've been welcomed by a kind staff (unlike what we experienced at the nearby Rose&Crown, where we've been denied food - perhaps due to our Italian accent - although everyone else around us was having dinner and it was just 8:20 pm of a Friday night). Everything we ordered here was simply fantastic and the kind atmosphere cheered up our mood in a matter of minutes! After dinner, we got permission to finish our drinks in the lovely garden, surrounded by roses and other beautiful flowers. Recommended.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and would have said it was the best you could find. I went again with friends this week 9th June 2022 I was so disappointed the price increase I will accept. But why loose all the quality this restaurant had? Get rid of paper table clothes serve your duck as duck not full of lettuce leaves stick to quality and l will return until then I will look somewhere else. It's a shame to see. Don't let greed spoil your business

First time going here and expected really good food from reading the reviews I ordered prawn crackers witch we didn’t receive witch is partly my fault for not checking before we left. I ordered sweet and sour chicken balls a duck curry egg fried rice chips and plain noodles, the seeet and sour chicken balls are like none I have had before they was like something you would Expect the wye inn to serve if they started selling Chinese food. Parts of my duck was very dry and the curry sauce was extremely salty. The chips and rice was nice but they are just chips and rice.

Food excellent but too much to eat! We had set meal for 2 which was very tasty but we had to bringing a doggy bag home with us...

From booking the table the day before to arriving, dining and leaving, service was faultless. Food was wonderful, so tasty every item of veg had its own flavour, all piping hot. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough we will definitely be going back

Had a beautiful meal in the Hum-Ming Garden really enjoyed it. Friendly staff everyone made us welcome. Enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden area with a drink especially as it was such a nice warm evening.

We went for the first time the other evening and the staff were pleasant & polite. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, but more importantly the food was fresh, tasty and in plenty. The buffet is a great idea for those wanting to try out different dishes. You can simply order whatever you want & they will get it cooked freshly for you & brought to the table. A very nice evening indeed!

Since reopening they are back to thier former glory. Lovely food. Very generous portions. And warm friendly service. It is a real joy to dine in and a nice romantic place to treat your love.....and can I add the garden is nice to sit and enjoy an evening drink.

We live locally, so normally grab a tasty takeaway and take it home, but we ate in the restaurant recently and it was excellent - both food and service and would definitely recommend. Myself and one other required gluten free options and there was loads of choice - way more than on the takeaway menu - we were delighted! Think we'll eat in the restaurant a bit more because of this, but also hoping we might see some more GF items added to the takeaway menu soon. Thanks all.

Lovely food, well priced. The staff were on point, as in friendly and went asking of the food was okay every five minutes. Price was a bit more than I was expecting but was on par with the quality of good and service. Will be coming back for sure. Thank you Hum-Ming Garden.

We have never had an issue here. Our takeaways have always been piping hot, and full of fantastic flavours. Flavours that you cannot replicate at home! As for the service from the staff - the service is acceptional. They can never do enough for you. Always friendly, always attentive, and never off the ball. Whenever we visit, we usually drink the butty. As experienced wye valley Brewery drinkers, we know what a good butty tastes like. This butty is fantastic - one of the best in Hereford! We will continue to return. We cannot get enough of the place. Thank you to all at the Hum Ming Garden!

This is the third time I have eaten here. I returned as the meals previously were good. This time we are from the buffet menu which was a mistake. Crispy duck starter came ready shredded and was 75% lettuce base. The mains were filled out with onions snd veg. Also beware that a lot of favourites are not on the buffet menu. What appears to be a good deal is not. Stick to the main menu where portions are large and full of meat. Taste wise it was all a bit bland. So we were disappointed. Covid wise I had concerns. Tables close together and we were given a sweet menu covered in sweet and sour sauce. Clearly no sanitising of menus. Staff were wearing masks but people waiting for take away were not.

I only have had the buffet menu, and I would highly recommend it. The food is super tasty, very quick and the service is very good too. I will be going back again and again. Brilliant, thanks Hum-Ming Garden!

Weekend in Hereford and thought we’d give this restaurant a go. Have to say, the food was very good! Well prepared and tasty. The menu is vast, so something for everyone. We are not local, but could see many regulars greeted well by the owners. I think this may have just re-opened with new owners recently(?) but in any case was a great meal. We’ll be back if we visit Hereford again. Recommended.

We’ve had take-away’s from the Humming Gardens in the past and they’re lovely. But we decided to have a proper “date night” we booked a table in the restaurant and could not fault it at all. Service was amazing, friendly and efficient. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was lovely.

Last night I had one of the best Chinese meals I've ever had. The service was quick, the food was piping hot and delicious and I also felt it was very good value for money. My friends and I all had the buffet option (which is all you can eat for 15.95) and we were spoilt with options and endless great food. The Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings which is part of the starter options was absolutely sensational. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Ate here with friends on a Thursday evening. Great service throughout. Given a huge portion of prawn crackers on the table when seated. Two menu choices, eat what you want buffet , fresh cooked for £15.90 or main menu. We chose to eat from the main menu. The food was hot, tasty and large portions. Great value for money. The crispy chilli beef and sizzling satay were lovely. Go for the noodles side dish. They were great. Under new ownership since the poor reviews I believe

We went here as a group to celebrate a leaving do for a dear colleague and a friend. To say , we are all Theatre and Recovery nurses . First , the toilet is clean … if the toilet is clean in a restaurant then everything will follow . I am impress. The owner is friendly , the staff are also incredibly patient in taking photos for the group . Lastly , the food … it is superb , delicious , they are bursting in your mouth with different taste . I will definitely keep coming back in here.

Over priced, and our local takeaway was of better quality

Literally just came away from this restaurant to celebrate my mother's birthday. Can quite honestly say it's the best I've ever had and ive been to a few. The service was excellent and staff so friendly. Absolutely recommend.
