First time staying in Broadmeadow campsite and locked for a local Chinese takeaway, thank goodness we picked Dragon house, with out a doubt the best Chinese takeaway my wife and I have had I'm going to say ever 👍 I normally never leave reviews but had to on this occasion best ever thankyou Dragon house

Food is delicious. But sadly the people who delivered our food tonight and helped themselves to some of it

REALLY friendly staff, very very reasonable prices, food quality is excellent, would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

First visit, made welcome by lady. Knowledgeable about food gave advice. I decided Singapore noodles and a beef curry from a very extensive menu. The curry was very good for me just enough heat, but the star was Singapore noodles - try them very very good. Oh and was given some orawn crackers too so thanks for great food and a smile!

I use this establishment on a regular basis for takeaways and it’s always consistently nice. Great selection on the menu and good prices too. It’s popular with the locals which is always a good sign. Highly recommended

Haven’t had a Chinese take away since moving to the county and went here on recommendation of daughter and was not disappointed at all Great value good portion size and all dishes chosen were tasty Was a Saturday night and pls r was busy however wait for food was not too lengthy

I have moved from Birmingham. I looked online to find a great Chinese takeaway in Ross on Wye. I looked at all reviews for takeaways in Ross. I went here tonight and got fantastic customer service. My order was taken without any issues. The Lady ( owner ) I think had a great general conversation with me while my food was being cooked. Within ten minutes the food was ready and was bagged up with free prawn crackers. When I got home the food was still hot and the quality of the food was A1. I will be going back and making this my regular takeaway. Many Thanks

Update Feb 2024: As I had such a good experience the last time, I decided to order again when I got back to Ross. I have to say it was totally the opposite. I phoned to order for delivery and after giving my location they said okay, minimum £30 order (no minimum the last time). Anyway we were fine with that so I got to my husband to get his order and phoned back. After I've given my list and checking if it meets the minimum £30, they said oh sorry actually the minimum order is £40! Well we decided to cancel it as it's too much items to order for just 2 people! Anyway disappointed and we went off to another Chinese in the area. Sorry Dragon House but you lost us! ....…...................….......................... Don't know why anyone would give a bad review, it was excellent from ordering to the timely delivery. We even got free spring rolls! Food arrived piping hot, full of flavour and probably the best chinese I've had here. Only downside is it's cash only so if in future card payment is available that would be perfect. Thumbs up!

We are on a weekend break and always try a local Chinese takeaway, this is the best one we have had in a long long time, we were very impressed with the salt and pepper spare ribs especially, would highly recommend.they even gave us a complimentary bag of prawns crackers which was a lovely touch.

The only positive was the single prawn in the special. Everything else disgusting and tasteless. Chips were dry, squishy and cold. Main meals lacked any taste and were not edible. Even the child refused to eat the chips and took them off her plate

The order was 50 minutes late clearly due to a Friday night being busy as expected and lack of staff (driver was very apologetic and clearly distressed at the idea of us waiting so long) so we would recommend getting your order in early if you plan for delivery. The food arrived hot and was substantial, however most of it was substandard and we agreed we had eaten better. Despite this, the salt and pepper chips were exceptional and we would definitely recommend. Overall, average experience and does not come to close to competing to some of the other local Chinese takeaways.

Woman on phone very rude when asked not to put item into food but loaded it with then when questioned about it she was so sarcastic will not eat there again

OMG just had a takeaway delivery to our campsite. Food was amazing in gargantuan portions. Fantastic price and service. Would recommend. Wish they were close to home. Highly recommended.

Good portions; very tasty food. The chowmein, pancake rolls (cooked from scratch and LARGE) and spicy beef is delicious! Good for fresh and tasty but the sweet and sour is a bit bland.

The four of us ordered a delivery and it was delivered to us 2 miles from Ross on time by a very polite and friendly gentleman. This was the second time we have used Dragon house. Was a bit concerned by the previous poor reviews of course. Our friends have used them many times over the years, We were relieved to find our menu choices and appetisers were also very tasty and large portions to share. We are a party of 8 ordered hone delivery at 1900 .large order tot £54.00 .informed it could be 90 mins wait .2100 no order called they said it was on the way .2135 no order called again to be told hadn't even been cooked Given wrong incorrect information all night gad we been told earlier could have gone elsewhere. Disgusting!!!!!! Would not recommend this so called business to anyone abd will definitely not be using again .shame on you .a score of 1 srar is too kuch really

not hugely impressed we ordered take away from here for family of four, firstly my salt pepper rib were very greasy and over cooked, fries were over cooked, for the main you can barely see meat in there but vegetable and for some other dishes meat is so tough you cannot bite through. Thought price was fairly reasonable, however was disappointed with the quality of food, i would not order again.

got my order 20 minutes ago, arrived luke warm, tasteless noddle and chewy beef definitely not again

After an hour of calling eventually managed to place an order for delivery. They said it would take 1 hour. After 1 hour and 10minutes I called them. They said order was ready but no driver and would there in 5 minutes. 20minutes later it turned up , after 2 phone calls to driver giving directions. Sent it back as taxi expected within 10 minutes, no time to eat it. Excuse given they were a bit busy. Not good enough, a bit greedy I'd say.

Long wait for service but worthwhile

Ordered a vegetable curry and vegetable spring roll tonight (Saturday 11 December 2021 17:40pm) as part of an order which included the A1 set meal - I am a vegetarian. The spring roll had meat and prawns in it. That made me want to vomit - but, more importantly, if I had a shellfish allergy then I could be writing this from the back of an ambulance in anaphylactic shock. I have used this takeaway since moving to Ross 1 year ago. The food has always been excellent. But I can't risk using this takeaway again. If you have allergies or are a vegetarian be warned.

Worst takeaway meal I’ve ever had ! Threw it in the bin absolutely never again. It was dry the chicken strips were inedible and hardly any sauce. How that could be classed as a Chinese meal is beyond me

Best Chinese in town. All fresh food, and always incredibly tasty. During busy periods you can tell it's still all cooked to order so always worth the wait. Give the salt & pepper chicken a try, as well as the Singapore rice noodles!

if you fancy a decent chinese like most of us Do Not come here I used to be a loyal customer here but over the years the service standard has dropped dramatically and its Impossible to eat some of dishes

I’ve been waiting for nearly 30 minutes for only 4 meals today, you do get a good amount of food for your money it has to be said but everything is so salty today and we couldn’t eat it!!! I heard this place is going downhill but I still coming here for their udonkaipo and some sort of starter and main dishes that I couldn’t get from other Chinese I know you can be very busy on a Saturday night but can you at least maintain a “standard” food quality even when you’re busy or this will be my last order from you thank you

Best Chinese food in Ross. Always fresh and piping hot. Such a range of dishes and could never fault any of them. All ingredients and dishes are always full of flavour. Normally a wait of about 15-20 minutes when not busy, so you can tell it’s being made then and there. Although when it is busy, its definitely worth the wait!

i ordered on a weekened and ive been ordering crispy beef over 50 times within a year and it was my favourite until last weekend my crispy beef meat was very chewy and inedible and my crispy ball over cooked and sauce spilled everwhere in my take away bag and the driver didn't do anything about it been trying to ring back but no one answering no exchange no refund no nothing 30 Pounds wasted

I've been eating this store for 20 years, and I've been enjoying the food and a bunch of cute staff

my first tried chinese in Ross On Wye was China Jo and it was nice and decent and i ordered it from here tonight as China Jo were closed tonight and its a NO NO for me as their noodle were very greasy and the chicken ball i had was soggy as well and i know every take away is different but Dragon House a definitely NO for me and i might will just stick with China Jo for the chinese

The food is delicious, people are endless, service attitude is also in place, amiable, has been in love with the takeaway food

im not sure if they reheat the food in the microwave or oven or whatnot it just doesn't taste fresh to me and it doesn't taste good either

So xmas eve and they still managed to maintain standards on a large order which arrived on time and piping hot. Not oily in any way, delicious and will be my chinese if choice going forward.

worst chinese food i've ever had never again

Ross isn't well blessed with good places to eat. There are one or two decent places but generally the standard of food in this pretty little town is mediocre at best. But the Dragon House is a notable exception. Very occasionally I have a hankering for a good Cantonese take away but since moving to the area I'd virtually given up on finding a decent Chinese takeaway. I get the impression that because there isn't a huge amount of competition and punters are easily pleased standards are very low but the Dragon House obviously take pride in what they do. The menu is as to be expected with a few extra goodies thrown in, including some Dim Sum which I haven't tried. But I know what I like. So hot and sour soup, sweet and sour chicken and House Special fried rice are ordered. There's a bit of a wait as the place is understandably popular. This food is really good, the soup has a good kick of fresh chilli and plenty of shrimps, char siu and chicken through it and hasn't been over thickened with cornflour, a regular mistake in less skilled places. The chicken balls were crispy and had been fried in clean oil, the sweet and sour sauce actually looked and tasted like food and didn't have that alarming red colour that you often find. The House rice was great with great slabs of char sui, big juicy prawns and plenty of chicken and crisp veggies through it. Just really well cooked with good quality, fresh ingredients. And the portions are immense. I wonder if the good people of Ross know how lucky they are?

This takeaway is amazing. Definitely the best I've ever had. Fantastic Duck and king prawns. I'd never go anywhere else now I've discovered this place. Plus they're friendly and Helpful.

It’s a small family run Chinese take away and in my opinion a good one too with friendly service and very quick and prompt deliveries, Their Beef Curry is a favourite of mine their Omelette and Chips isn’t bad either.

lots better than the other chinese takeaway we had food order from here. lots of different flavours and new dishes. We collected it from the shop, the staff were friendly. We drove 10 minutes to home and the food was piping hot still. definitely come back again.

first off i feel bad for leaving a bad review to a business but definitely one star for the ladies for not being honest as we ordered it from the NEW GOLDEN HORSE and we picked it up from the wrong chinese which its our fault of course but the problem is we get told by the lady "they've got our order but only messed it up with the other order" and 10 minutes after we picked up the food we get a call from the other chinese and we only realised that we ran to the wrong chinese. foods okay but make sure you go to the right chinese next time!!! i've got no clue wheres the new golden horse is as i ran to the wrong one this time and i picked this up opposite ALDI

When the food came it was steaming hot. I thought the chow-mein was the best I have had in a long time. The chow-main was full of beef and the noodles and the rice was delicious at all!!! My curry was full of flavor. I really enjoyed my meal!!!

Came last week recommended by friend. We ordered aromatic duck, chicken satay on skewers, crispy chilli beef, chicken chow menu, salt and pepper chicken, sweet and sour king prawn balls and Thai green curry beef. All the food tasted fresh and delicious, the size is amazing😀The staffs are friendly. The BEST Chinese in town👍Definitely come back again and highly recommend😄

vile food i ordered the sweet and sour chicken balls, beef noodle and chips the other day the balls were greasy and fries were soggy and the noodles was stone cold when arrived i would not recommand this chinese !!!

Good selection of food. Generous portions, plenty of meat; although the meat in the Chow Mein was added on the top rather than having been cooked in with the rest of the noodles/bean sprouts. Good value. Cash only.

First meal under new owners not the best I had duck and mushrooms.... sauce was nice the duck very small chewy grisley pieces not nice at all...chips standard frozen ones...sweet and sour chicken balls ok but lacking in flavour...sweet and sour sauce very weak and no taste...spring roll 95 percent beansrouts not much else so far not impressed..

This is the only Chinese I’ll eat at in Ross on wye because I have found it to be the best. Everything I’ve eaten there has been really nicely cooked and very tasty. The staff are nice.
