5 stars for Bar Manager and lovely waitress... First class reatment. ...could not have tried harder ro make me welcome and fix a few minor issues. Look forward to returning.

Not a good experience and disappointing on Thursday. Table booked for 12:30 for 6 adults and a toddler. Staff unaware of booking and led us to a tall table which is unsuitable for a 3 year old. To be fair this was sorted quickly. Food- waited 45 mins and pasta looked like the dregs of the pot it was a plate of mush. We sent it back which meant everyone else had finished when the second plate of pasta came. Was better but too much oil and creamy for my liking. Tacos could have been warmer. Others said their food was ok. Staff did address the problem with the pasta and didn’t charge for the pasta Service- staff were very friendly and dealt with each issue well however found it difficult to get a hold of someone to order more drinks Sorry guys I hate giving negative reviews however on our experience I wouldn’t recommend. Sadly we were all disappointed. ☹️

My husband had been in the Pavilion for a small function and suggested that I might enjoy coming here for lunch since he had looked at the bar menu at the time and thought that I would like it so we decided to drive over. They have a choice of table sizes, normal ones and high ones with the high bar chairs. Given my age I am not a fan of the high ones but thankfully there were enough normal tables left for us to choose from. Sadly though all the normal tables seem to be grouped close to a speaker and the music being played was just a little too loud for my liking. There was a young lady sitting two tables away from us and I could hear her entire conversation because she had to shout over the music. Either they need to move some of the normal tables away from the speaker or they need to turn the music down slightly. On to the food and service. The service was excellent. Our order was taken quickly and we did not have to wait too long for it to arrive. Three seperate members of staff checked that we were happy with our food, which we were and on leaving, thanked us for coming and hoped that we would come back soon. The food was excellent. My husband had steak pie,chips and veg and I had scampi, chips and a side salad with a lovely Katsu mayo. Both the dishes were excellent and whilst this bar is on the opposite side of the river Forth from where we stay it is only about a half hour drive away so I would certainly consider returning in the future.

We visited on a Monday night to celebrate a friends birthday. Food was delicious and not overly priced. Nice atmosphere with chilled music. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Special thanks to the Manager - best wishes from the pumpy Jackie's who love you 😉😂

Booked at random on our way to Murrayfield to see Taylor Swift. Wow! Food was excellent! Not sure when, but we’d come back if in the area.

Amazing atmosphere, we came up to Scotland for a party at Hugo’s and ended up there for two nights, first night was lush - busy Friday night, sun shining- pleasant staff, great food quick service, live music, clean and tidy venue. 2nd night for the party in the outdoor venue - again welcoming staff, great atmosphere, clean and tidy, good food and service. It’s lovely to see these days a local public house so busy two nights running and obviously doing well. 5 star to the manager and staff Just wish we lived closer!

My granny took my mum and I for lunch and we had the best time. Dog-friendly so we had our little man in with us (in a pram because he has arthritis). The staff were very accommodating and the food was excellent. I’m coeliac and they looked after me well with one of the best gluten-free menus I’ve ever seen - I had buffalo chicken tenders with a side of ranch to start, the “Hugo” boss burger for main (in a GF bun), and a selection of ice cream for desert. The vibes are very chill and hipster, a big change from the restaurant it was before. My granny is in very often but I will look forward to also coming back during evening entertainment with some friends. Many thanks to Hugo’s for a lovely lunch, we will be back soon.

Had mac and cheese. Tasty enough but watery sauce. Had banoffee cheesecake was nice but dried bananas chips on top were awful. No taste & very hard to eat. Fresh banana slices would be nicer. Needs a few tweaks. Staff very friendly.

Pleasant staff, good service. Drinks are reasonably priced. Food disappointing and not up to the standard considering the price. £15 for a Brie and bacon burger, essentially two Iceland frozen burgers on a cheap bun. Otherwise worth a visit for drinks.

Had 3 starters Bucket of chicken wings, chips with bbq sauce bacon and cheese, tortilla chips chilli and cheese total 25.00pds Drinks reasonably priced 3 screens of sport. Was busy so took a while for food to come. Staff pleasant and surroundings clean and bright.

Fantastic food, great service and reasonable prices. Two of us had burgers and two had macaroni cheese. Delicious! The kids meals were also very good and a good selection to choose from. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back. Managed to speak to the new chef, Cameron. He was clearly very passionate about his food. Bar/waiting staff were welcoming and friendly. Thank you all, its the best meal anx service we've had out in a long time.

Got their cocktails confused, giving us the wrong ones and rather than telling us they got it wrong they said they were trying out new recipes! Very noisy with football on the tv

The staff were very welcoming told member of staff that hand sanitiser at main door was empty still empty when we left! Food disappointing I had the mushroom stroganoff the sauce had split and had no depth of flavour my husband had the steak pie frozen skinny chips no veg and the meat in the pie was a cheap cut.

Food was actually very good, stroganoff was excellent but I'm amazed that no staff were wearing masks. It's the 18th March and masks are still required here but the 6 staff I counted must be following different rules. Shame.

We took our kids (2 x under 10) and sat in the tent. It was lovely. The food was tasty and the service was good. We will be back, although the number of choices of food limits how often we will be back. Would recommend the Pizza.
