Great service and excellent quality food. Locally sourced produce. Breakfast bap with haggis. Yum. We were blessed with a beautiful day, so took advantage of the outdoor seating. Superb views. Little treat for the dog. Great food, great coffee, great service...what's not to love?

I popped into the Hub on the last day of my holiday with my Mum. We had a lovely drink and a mooch around the shop and went to set off. As I reversed out of my parking space the clutch went on my car. We were stranded there. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful. They let us sit in the garden waiting for recovery and kept coming to check and see if we were ok. Honestly, so grateful for their kindness and would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

This is literally the most perfect café spot and Air B and B - we were so well looked after by Morag, Karen and the team - they are excellent and the food was delicious. You have to pass by and enjoy the homemade food, the service and the view. Nothing was too much and we can't rate this highly enough. There is a shop inside the café selling everything literally that you need. The breakfast baps were a total winner - we had one each morning along with amazing coffee and cakes. The team deserve 5 * we didn't want to leave. Really special, happy place to be. We will be back. We stayed upstairs and the team were so kind by delivering us food a and late night snacks and having the breakfast orders and coffee ready and waiting - nothing was too much. Loved every second, thank you

Stopped in for lunch seemed to be popular judging by the amount of customers, ordered 2 sandwiches at 1 oclock finally appeared 50 minutes later, my tuna mayo and red onion toastie had barely been toasted it was anaemic in colour and was devoid of mayonnaise and so dry it was inedible the crisps were soft and clearly had been sitting out for some time, my partners sandwich arrived on the wrong bread and was without side salad or crisps, basically a cheese sandwich on white bread on a bare plate, the decor and furniture are nice, but sadly let down by the disorganised running of the cafe and the very poor food

During a recent visit we didn't notice a sign on the door indicating the cafe was closed. On entering and intending to take a seat were met with the words; ''can I help you'' in a very unfriendly and aggressive tone by this wee fat wifie behind the counter. I explained that we had come for breakfast and were told in no uncertain manner that the cafe was closed. She was quite clearly upset about the fact that we hadn't seen the sign and proceeded to produce one and bang it on the counter in front of us, stating in future we should be more observant. She was quite clearly very upset and went on to inform us that we could sit outside instead, but it was cold and windy. I proceeded to write to the manager and complain but over three weeks later have heard nothing. Quite clearly they don't care a jot about their customers for if they did would have acted on it. This place is best avoided.

Went there for a cuppa, got more I bargained for. Tea had a pube floating in it. Proper shanner, really wondering how that was even possible. The toilets were also a disgrace, in all fairness I think it was the bloke's fault who went in before me but there were brown streaks everywhere. On a lighter note the atmosphere was lovely and the people seemed friendly enough.

We visited here last week, tried to enter the cafe but one member of staff ushered me out of the door and said the cafe was not open , She made me feel stupid. People were drinking coffee in the garden outside. She said this was a takeaway service available from the shop. So we waited to enter the shop only to be greeted by the same member of staff who basically rolled her eyes when she saw us again and said due to covid cafe wasn’t sub stainable. Basically told us to bugger off. Didn’t even seem to want us to have a takeaway coffee. Lots of things on offer sausage rolls etc. But we thought she just wants rid of us so we left. This was a shame as we had come to visit Humbie to see where my grandmother was born and brought up in the village , we found the cottage and thought it would be nice to have a coffee at the cafe. It was such lovely weather too . The treatment I received In the shop/cafe upset me. Will not return .

As per review below; really frosty attitude! Didn't have a mask. At no point did I set foot inside. Asked for two coffees from the door. If standing at the door was a problem, they could have said have a seat and we will come to you, they didn't. Was then chastised at the table outside as the coffees were brought.

During lockdown this has become a favourite destination for family or just to meet a friend. I've never been disappointed - lovely baking, gorgeous soups, melting large toasties and bacon rolls. Today's highlight of my lunch was the beautiful coleslaw accompanying my quiche and apparently there are now mince pies for Christmas. We also love the shop with excellent bread and yummy Yester Dairy products. And afterwards we enjoyed a pleasant walk in Humbie Church Wood.

I've always been so impressed with Humbie Hub since it first opened and have seen it grow into real hub in the community which brings people together. It's such a lovely wee cafe with delicious home made food - I'm coeliac and there's always great gluten free options. Staff are always friendly and accommodating and make it really welcoming.I'm so impressed with what the Humbie Hub team have during lockdown to support the local community. Adapting the business to do home deliveries safely to make sure people shielding are well looked after. My family is one of those households and the Humbie Hub have gone out of their way to help and make sure we were never without anything - even if it was just dropping off some milk when we ran out! It's great to see the Hub returning to normal and a big thank you to all the team for all their hard work and adjusting to make things work and keep the community supported.

I am bound to be a little biased, as I grew up around Humbie, but I have seen this little country post office blossom and grow into a well-run post office/bank, mini-mart and cafe (even with guest accommodation) over the last twenty years. Morag runs a tight ship, and I can take my aunt to eat there for lunch, just as many locals and travelers do, as the food is wholesome, home-cooked, and the selection of main courses and salads always interesting. The staff are efficient and the nearby Kirk worth a visit, there is usually an exhibition by a local artist, this time (November) observational drawings by Humbie artist, Frances Richardson-Cottrell. Although not such a hidden gem nowadays, Humbie Hub is a great place to either make a pit stop during your travels around the Lothians or go for a coffee and/or lunch/snack if you live in and around the area and/or forgot to buy something at your monthly supermarket shop! It is comforting to see that progress and development can still make the experience worthwhile and not overly commercial. If you want lunch, just don't get there too late, as the menu board will likely have been wiped clean!

We called in for first time around 3pm - enquiring if it would be possible to have soup and a sandwich. Despite the fact there was plenty of food on display the woman behind the counter responded very abruptly with, “Kitchen’s closed - you’ve just missed it!” There was no hint of a polite - ‘I’m sorry we’ve stopped serving meals but I’m sure we could make up a sandwich’ or ‘We can offer coffee and cake’. It was just abrupt, impolite and poor service. Needless to say we left. The place looked nice and the set-up inviting enough but it needs a major attitude change to customer service. As this was out first visit it’s not somewhere we would return to. There are too many better options in the surrounding countryside and small towns. The old saying applies, ‘You don’t get a second chances to make a first impression!’

We stumbled on Humbie Hub when trying to find a comfortable place for a coffee off the main road. We were staying in a cottage in Humbie (see my other reivew) and couldn't find it. We stopped at the Humbie Hub and the gentlemen (and I use that description on purpose) kindly directed us. We called in on a few mornings for a paper, had a wonderful fruit scone and coffeee there one afternoon and popped in for scones to take away other days. There are comfy sofas where you can while away time reading or on the internet or just chatting. This place is lovely and clean, the food was very varied and looked delicious. There is a post office and you can also get some lovely fresh bread, cakes, eggs and essential foodstuffs you need. They also have a film night once a month.

Over the last year this has become a place where cyclists pull in for a stop. I am one of them, and love the place. Quality experience every time

Needed sweets for Sunday dinner. Popped into the Humbie Hub and got a selection of delicious cakes. The home baking is fabulous.

Literally just got up and walked out after reading the menu prices. We were here last summer for lunch, had one of the best bowls of Cullen skink soup to date, came back specifically for that today as in the area, only to find that for one bowl of soup as a starter was £9.95 or for a large bowl of the same is now priced at £15.95! FOR A BOWL OF SOUP! I know it’s a tourist hotspot, but take off your Dick Turpin masks No 12!!

Was rank, coffee was weak and hair in my pastry.. wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy to be honest. Would recommend Gregg's round the corner in all fairness.

Seems to be going down hill - toastie was a bit tasteless, cake was terrible - gluten free lime and coconut but so so stale and dry - didn't finish it. Coffee was good. When we mentioned the cake wasn't nice the waitress just smiled - An apology and perhaps it being taken off the bill would have been more appropriate.

Absolutely fantastic as always, both servers were brilliant. Food was outstanding as always. Even although the place was not busy the atmosphere was brilliant. Really enjoyed the flat iron steak it was so tender. Thank you everyone involved

A gem in Haddington with lots of nice homemade cosy food, a bakery and a shop! Go there for spending relaxing time with family and friends or just to treat yourself! Grilled nectarine and halloumi quinoa salad already replicated at home! Gnammy!
