Excellent food brilliant atmosphere

Nice enough food but had 2x problems from this place now. Being told no vegan buns for my vegan friends so they had to have the burgers without buns. And the 2nd time food didn't come out at the same time which ment one person had to eat on their own because we had all finished before their food came out.

The food was good. I had the vegan falafel burger, which is always a bit underwhelming, usually. This one was better than usual, but I still always prefer a meat-based vegan burger, but they aren't in the deal... The drinks were quite watery. But, the fries made up for it. I ordered some beer-battered onion rings which were HUGE. Great value for money, but they were also VERY greasy and dripped with oil. The food looked great and tasted fresh, but just lacked a bit of something. Service was OK. The place was clean with enough space.

I frequently visit this restaurant in Exeter, and it never disappoints. They serve one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. My boyfriend and I visited Hubbox this evening and was served by Jonathan. He was very attentive and went above and beyond for us. The dirty fries were amazing, and we will definitely return.

Service was excellent, really loved the experience and the atmosphere but sadly the food wasn't to the same level. Have eaten here many times previously and been very impressed, so possibly it was an off night for the kitchen team. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, just not great either.

Slightly slow service but delicious food

Visit a few weeks ago. We had to wait for ages for our food to come out despite it being relatively quiet - We were ignored by the staff both when trying to order and when trying to pay - and we weren't granted the student discount as advertised on an A board outside. This place used to be so good when it was on Sidwell Street - what happened!?

Good burger, friendly staff, nice vibes!

We arrived at 7:20 with no booking, on arrival they didn’t mention a long wait for food. We ordered food at roughly 7:35pm. After waiting an hour we asked the waitress how much longer the food would be, we were told it would be 5 minutes, then after 10 more minutes of waiting they offered a free drink. Our food finally arrived after waiting for an hour and 20 minutes. One of the meals was wrong but at that point we couldn’t be bothered sending it back. The atmosphere was good, usually we have a nice time but this time was a let down. I would avoid when it’s busy. Overall service could have been more attentive on arrival about the wait and throughout.

Amazing burger menu. Fun staff great cocktails and vibes

ordered at 6pm, dispatched from restaurant at 6.25. . . delivered after 8pm. Cold. in the meantime, had to order from another supplier. Didn't eat the food as it was far too late and cold. Hugely disappointed. I want a full refund. Terrible service.

Ultimately it comes down to the food for me. I purchased a cheeseburger and chips and for the price, the portion size was tiny. The cheeseburger was nothing special and the house pickles tasted a little off. Not impressed, especially compared to other places I’ve visited recently. The service was great though, everyone was really nice and attentive.

Booked to have dinner here after a day in Exeter - and I have to say, it was far better than I expected. It is very easy to get burgers wrong... but Hubbox absolutely smashed it. We were seated quickly, orders taken promptly and food arrived fast and hot. Burgers were good, fries were good - the sides and drinks were real stars. The mac and cheese side was by far the best I've ever had out, and the coating on the halloumi fries was great. Would recommend the elderflower cooler - add the pear vodka and it tastes like Robinson's Pear Juice - and the grapefruit cooler as is: both delicious. Desert menu is small and simple, but we'd eaten enough that it wasn't needed. Great for a quick (but substantial!!) bite to eat.

We looked online for Gluten Free places to eat. Hub Box in Exeter seemed ideal, the menus clearly state GF & DF. When we arrived I told them my allergens Wheat, Gluten, Dairy & Soya. There was not a problem. My Son ordered a Big Kahuna & I had a Hub OG. We had extras of Skin on fries, Hub Slaw & YES GF onion rings. The roll for mine was GF/DF too. I decided to try the Passion Fruit Cooler & I was not disappointed it was absolutely delicious. They put vegan cheese on my choice of burger instead of the regular cheese too. I felt very safe eating there. The staff were very knowledgeable & double checked with the kitchen about any of my concerns. The meal was fantastic, lots of it & piping hot.

Lovely dinner with the kids a few evenings ago. The burgers were delicious, I appreciated that the vegan option was not fake meat. The fries were yummy and great drink options. Service was brilliant too. The kids loved that thier menus could be made into chatterboxes too!

Staff were really friendly, food was lovely would definitely go again.

I was staying in the hotel opposite which was lovley but was awake early so decided to go out for coffee and a cigarette but nothing open the doors were open to the hub box so decided to ask if they were open they were lovley and said not for another hour, I explained what I was looking for and they said they would be happy to make me a coffee so I could sit and watch the world go by with my coffee and cigarette I was on my hen weekend just wanted a few moments to myself I really appreciate that they were not open but willing to help me out, big thumbs up to you guys ,went to the ivy the previous night and didn't get that level of service so thank you

Burgers taste very good, not too special but the taste buds are definitely satisfied, but unfortunately not enough for the prices, burgers are small and come without any extra side dishes, but that's the only point of criticism, otherwise a mediocre good burger shop.

Lovely place, especially the upstairs seating was beautiful and we liked the look of the outside upper seating area. Friendly staff and nice food at affordable prices. The wait was a little longer than expected, but then it was fairly busy when we visited.

Massively overrated. Not what it used to be

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant and a must visit. The food is amazing and the staff are kind and friendly. They are also great for dietaries and very knowledgeable about their menu.

Brillient service and food. Can't fault it.

One of the best places in town to have burgers. We had the Oklahoma and All stars burgers and they were amazing! However, it had a lot of mustard that covered the great burger taste. I also highly recommend the Mother Culcker loaded fries and the garlic & parmesan loaded fries.

We came in at around 4pm on a Tuesday and we're quickly seated at a table of our choice, the music is clear but not overbearing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to specific food requests, as well as providing vegan sauces. Our server Viking was outstanding with a cheerful demeanour and was patient when we were ordering. Our food was brought over in about 10 mins, and everyone agreed it was top 3 on their burger list. Overall, very impressed, especially with Viking's service.

food quite tasty, disappointing that I had to pay extra for fries as none of the mains had them included.....makes lunch a little on the expensive side to do it regularly....come on guys, you'd be surprised at how many more people would come if you just did that one simple thing. the burgers were ok, nothing that would stand out from anywhere else...on the whole, an anticlimactic lunch , and they tried to charge me twice....luckily my bank spotted the mistake.

If Hub Box was correctly priced I'd rate it higher, the burgers are lovely but overpriced, the fries are lovely but overpriced and the drinks are nice, but overpriced. Personally for me, when I pay £5-10 for fries/dirty fries, I'd expect a decent portion, but you get what I'd call a kids portion at Hub Box. Likewise with burgers costing £10-20 (no fries included), I'd expect at least 1/2lb/16oz burgers, however Hub Box rather cleverly or stupidly don't tell you the burger weight on the menu. I would guess Hub Box's burgers are 12oz max (possibly lighter), definitely overpriced and certainly taking the piss with fries not being included with £10-20 burgers.

What is the service charge for? Why is it compulsory? I already paid for the food, and the delivery.

It was a bit pricey for the quality of the food, I had ceaser salad which turned out to be one of the most disappointing versions I've had. The food wasn't terrible it was just ok but at these prices I expected more.

Not a great experience. The chicken was drenched in oil, the chips were cold and when we asked them to replaced they put them in the microwave and came out floppy. The cherry cocktail was more like a coke with a drop of rum without the cherries in an ikea glass..

I visited Hub Box in Exeter yesterday and ordered the Dirty Club. The taste was decent, but the standout aspect of this place is its atmosphere, making it an excellent spot for gathering with friends. Every time I come here, I find it incredibly comfortable.

Hubbox has become a firm favourite as it is dog friendly, and my friend is able to order such a wide variety even with a gluten free requirement

Food here was absolutely incredible. I had burger and chips and it was amazing and worth every penny! Deffinetly worth visiting and eating here. It has two floors with lots of seating and well priced. ## update ## I came here 6 months later and thr food was still just as incredible and my wife said its the best burger shes ever had!

Hubbox is my favourite place to eat in Exeter. The team are so friendly (shoutout to Kate and Lydia) and the food is absolutely unreal. I would 100% recommend Hubbox to everyone.

I have been a loyal customer for quite some time. I was absolutely shocked to see what was brought out to me. I ordered the Big Kahuna burger and mother clucker fries. So just my meal without drinks was nearly £26. The burger looked like it was thrown together by Stevie wonder, and was very lop sided. It did not look at all pleasant to look at and I have no idea why it was called the Big Kahuna? I've had a Big mac from McDonald's bigger. My wife's Big cheese (Halloumi) was bigger. The food tasted good, not amazing!! But certainly was not worth the money. Unfortunately this will be my last time dining at hubbox. The staff were great and always smiling, so I still tipped when paying for the bill.

A group of us came here for breakfast on Sunday whilst on a weekend break. We were slightly past the cut-off service time but the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Really friendly with great food and service. Thank you!

Lunch with friends here and the food was great! Atmosphere loses a star because the music was so loud we struggled to hear each other and the staff, wheelchair accessibility was fab though The jalapeño cheese bites were 🤤

Mhm delicious was the feeling with every bite, I had a really nice burger, with a shake which was very nice, it filled me up the whole meal, I had an excellent server as well!

Been here a couple of times now on a Saturday evening without a reservation. The staff are always really helpful and honest about how long you might have to wait (although we've never waited as long as they said!). Fantastic food and great drinks. All reasonably priced!

Enjoyable visit. Burgers were very tasty including the fries which were delicious. Service was also attentive and accommodation given that we didn't book a table. Prices are slightly high but reasonable.

Only had drinks but other people's food looked good. Loved watching the children on the next table playing with the magnetic cutlery. Very friendly staff and great ambiance.

Service charge should be earned, not expected. Hub box couldn’t even be bothered to wash up enough knives for our table, and just told us ‘sorry we’ve only got forks for some of you’. We were pre-booked so no excuses really. Food was alright, classic small portions for high cost, but we knew that going in. I just went and filled our own water jugs from the tap as couldn’t get hold of anyone to help.

Really delicious meal. Nice messy Big Kahuna burger with good quality meats and a soft bun. Chicken tenders were nice but not strongly seasoned or quite crisp enough. The korean bbq sauce was superb for dipping though! Generous portion of sweet potato fries to top it off. The staff were great. Polite and smiley. It did take a little longer for them to take my order than it should've though. Definitely somewhere I'll go again. NEXT VISIT: Mouthwatering smash patties at their finest! I had a Triple Bacon Double Cheeseburger and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The patties were so juicy and full of flavour as well as having an incredible chargrill around the edges. My Dad devoured his burger too along with the chilli beef loaded fries. I even had a a decent reaction from my Mum to her first beef burger experience. She'll never share my passion for them though! A brilliant place to go for delicious burgers and fantastic service. Next visit: Delicious meat but too much mustard! I went in for a Birthday burger fix knowing Hubbox has delivered me fantastic meals in the past. I had they're Oklahoma Smash Burger with added bacon. The first thing that stood out was the amount of mustard. It was pouring out! I scraped some off the top bun to make it a fairly reasonable amount. Fortunately it didn't take too much away from the flavour of patties. They use some of the best tasting beef I've had in a burger and the patties were cooked beautifully. I was a little disappointed with the BBQ dip. It had a slight kick of spice to it which made me think it wasn't what I'd asked for. An enjoyable meal but it could have been better with a lighter squeeze of that mustard bottle! The staff as always were fantastic and provided efficient friendly service. Still the best place in Exeter for top quality burgers.

Went here for a birthday meal with me and my fiancé. We were seated immediately and we had our food ordered, delivered and eaten within half an hour. We were greeted with friendly staff and our waitress was very bubbly and friendly. The service was super efficient and honestly some of the best burgers we had both ever had. We will definitely be going back again hopefully very soon!

They didn't bring a complete order. The milkshake was missing. I told the driver and he said it was and went to leave. But I reiterated again and he said he would return with the milkshake and it's over an hour late.

Coming in as a large booking, whilst another large booking joined at a similar time, I was very very pleased with the quality of food, service and overall treatment from the members of staff - sorting our orders by name to avoid any confusion, our food was also excellent Would highly recommend, the Hub Lemonade is lovely too...

THE WORST BURGERS AND FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN! YES SERIOUSLY! ABSOLUTE TRASH WE ORDERED 2 double bacon cheese burgers and they were worse than mc'donalds! £13.95 for a burger that was completely inedible. I MEAN come on, i used to get fab burgers here but i'm just guessing but MANAGEMENT CHANGES! II AM NEVER EATING THERE AGAIN IT'S 🤮 DISGUSTING NEVER GO HERE !!!!! AVOID, better burgers from BK !!!!! SO DISSAPOINTED 😔

We came here for our friends birthday dinner and it was definitely not what we’d come to expect from our previous visits. From our arrival, our table of 14 was not ready and we were made to wait by the bar in a big group. The front of house was very rude and blunt. As we were sat down, staff didn’t approach us for at least 20 minutes, until we asked for water and then were not even given glasses. When we asked for some, the waitress rudely informed us that they were being cleaned. The food order was initially wrong despite our pre-order, and then came out over an hour after we arrived. Our friend with an allergy; was initially given the wrong order as well. Our friends were mixed up - he already put ketchup and they simply handed the plate back to her with sauce still on. When ordering drinks, the waitress spoke as if our orders were inconveniencing her. To make matters worse, towards the end of the night, a member of our party overheard two waitresses gossiping about us. A free round of drinks on them was a nice apology, but quite frankly not enough. Whilst we are a group of students, we behaved respectfully and didn’t deserve to be treated as a second class customer. We will not be coming back.

Went in to watch the rugby. Loads of room, friendly, accommodating staff and good beer. Only had fries but they were good. Nice terrace upstairs too - good for watching sport.

Quality seriously lacking. Sweet potato fries were not all thoroughly cooked, portions were not great and incredibly expensive. Lesson learnt.

Burger was really good - chicken tenders were also really good. The burger doesn’t come with fries so you have to add on which is a bit annoying. But overall the place is good

Unfortunately Hubbox has gone massively down hill since it moved locations a few years ago. The prices keep going up, the portions are getting smaller, the ingredients are getting worse (burgers are not as nice, using gross cheese sauce over proper cheese). My last visit in late December was slow service, one of the waiters was very rude to one of our party, average food and a group all who left disappointed with value, portion size and quailty. After many visits over the years since Hubbox came to Exeter in Sidwell Street as one of the best places to eat in the city, I will not he visiting again anytime soon. There are many other better options and ironically Eat the Bird which is on the old Hubbox premises, is one of them. Not recommended.

Oh wow what a find. We were visiting and just thought this place was convenient. Lovely staff. Food was really good. Maybe one of the best burgers. Could resist the waffle!

Yeah normally good but today I got served a raw burger, uncooked meat, not just undercooked .wholly uncooked. Staff were very apologetic and said they would remove it from the bill..when the bill came they had taken 2 quid off...not the price of the meal. Just disappointed

Cold old fries that had been around a while and showed no sign of the Rosemary Salt promised, Onion rings that showed no sign of Onion, but plenty of signs of a fryer that isn't hot enough, so they were drenched in oil. My partners Korean Chicken was salty as to be inedible to her, and my Bacon Double Cheese wasn't even Burger King standard let alone a place with pretensions and prices like this. Might have been a bad day at the office for the Kitchen, as we've heard good things about Hubox, but as I'm not local I'll never find out.

Brilliant gluten free meal with so much choice. Service was amazing, had a laugh with the waitress who was genuinely interested in what we were up to.
