AWFUL AVOID! There is no way to contact them about your booking they will not answer the phone or reply to emails! WANTED TO CANCEL AND THEY HAVE STOLEN MY DEPOSIT MONEY AND WILL NOT CONTACT ME. Awful, avoid!

Would not play afrobeats as they said they did not want to attract a certain crowd! Do not attend! Absolutely disgusting!! Will never be going again!

Absolute rip off!! After having to wait to get into this place, we were not told we had to pay £15 to get in. £15 for a place like that!!?? After getting in, we were directed to the downstairs area. The “seats” were awful. Felt like I was sitting on a bench waiting for a doctor’s appointment. Once we were all sat down, we were given the menu. £14 for a cocktail??!! Absolute joke. When we were given the drinks, the staff member who prepared the drinks literally slammed them down. Once she had slammed the drinks down, straight away brought the card machine over “how you paying for those drinks?!” with such a miserable look on her face. The drinks were awful. Could hardly taste any alcohol in them. Oh, and the drinks were served in a short glass, which weren’t even filled to the top. The toilets were also shambles. Went in to find an elderly woman sitting down near the sinks. The doors on the cubicles had massive gaps in them, making it easy for anyone outside to see into your cubicle. When washing hands, the elderly woman was handing out paper towels. Seriously strange! The whole atmosphere of this place was awful. Really bad music and the staff looked too young to work there, let alone serve and prepare drinks. They all looked miserable and grumpy. We ended up leaving after being in there for about 30 mins, as it was so horrible. Probably the worst £29 I’ve ever spent in my life. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Upon attending tonight the staff were extremely discriminatory towards a member of our party. Targeting the only ethic minority of our group. The staff were continuously abusive to the person and when asked couldn’t justify a reason for their behaviour. When speaking to the manager Miguel he couldn’t explain his staff’s behaviour. Overall over priced especially with abuse and discrimination. rather spend our money at a small business than these horrible People who think money is more than customer experience. Will NOT be going back

We paid £15 for tickets as it was an event being run and the event stated you can party in your bubbles, upon entering we was seated at a table with random people that we didn’t know but was told we wasn’t allowed to stand up and dance because we were too close to other people and it wasn’t social distancing(but they broke that rule when sitting us with people we had never met) drinks were very over priced and the pizza tasted like cardboard with tomato purée, which a lot of people didn’t eat. As we stood up a couple of times in front of our seats the female security guard told us to sit down which we continued to agree to until we took a trip downstairs to use the toilet and saw majority of the people seated downstairs standing up dancing and having fun. Even when we was upstairs other tables that were standing up wasn’t being penalised it was just our table over and over again by the same female bouncer, no other bouncer had an issue just her she even was stopping people from talking to us outside when they were way more than 2 meters away from us. It felt more like a personal attack . I would never set foot in that place ever again I wish I had read all the other reviews before purchasing my ticket

Fui aquí con algunos amigos del trabajo. Gastamos una fortuna absoluta. Salí con un amigo a fumar un cigarrillo y no nos dejaron entrar porque dijeron que salimos por la entrada equivocada y que deberíamos haber salido por la salida para fumadores. Absolutamente ridículo. Está bien gastar una fortuna en el bar, pero por un simple error arruinan tu noche. Teniendo en cuenta que el dinero que gastamos contribuye a mantener el club en funcionamiento, pagar al personal, etc., ser tratado de esta manera fue espantoso. Encontré el personal de la puerta grosero e inútil. Nunca más gastaré ni un centavo en un lugar así.

Frecuentaba este club nocturno con algunos amigos un sábado por la noche. Went here on a hen do. 10 pounds to get in on a Saturday. Drinks are priced ok. Gets very busy but good atmosphere and could find a table and seats ok. The dancefloor downstairs is great. Could do with a few more toilets.

Overpriced, terrible music and a bit boring.There was nothing special about this bar, and when I ordered at the bar the barman added a 50p service charge to the total, I paid it because £6 for a drink wasn't too expensive. However he did this in front of my eyes, if I feel a service tip is deserved I would pay, but to have it by default is a bit rude.

Que dejar que demasiada gente en que no se puede caminar, bailar o moverse. La gente entrar en mis pies y me empuje. Largas colas a los aseos y bar. Largas colas en la puerta. Muy concurrido para caminar. Laboran y preguntaron tontear con mi número, lo que me parece poco profesional! La música era horrible y con largas colas y sólo 3 mujeres y 1 wc era 2 chicas iban y estaban tomando las edades y no les paró.

DJ kept changing songs after 15 seconds, overpriced as hell drinks, unnecessarily hostile bouncers & it closes at 2 on Friday...seriously? This club can suck it, will not be wasting my time there again.

Fui a Hoxton Pony el mes pasado. Los cócteles eran preciosas, pero se espera que pague por ello! The first time I visited this place I was thrown out for drunken behaviour, but to be fair, I was absolutely hammered and it was the right thing to do, so I wasn;t getting on everyone's nerves. Second chance and no such incident, and it was even better than I had vaguely remembered it from the first time. Nice pub.

I have been here on a Friday and Saturday night and have loved both nights. Yes the drinks are expensive but what do you expect it's London. Getting a drink can be really long as it gets really busy at the weekend but not as bad as other reviews have said. I have been coming here for quite a few years and have never had a problem with the door staff. Music is OK not the best in shordich. Over all the place is OK for a drink and dance at the weekend but there are probably better places to go in shordich.

Asian guy in checkered shirt. Only serving girls... Not even a joke. Served me and then apologised to another set of girls for keeping them waiting while giving me my card back without even looking at me. Sort it out.

We ordered a JD and coke and a rum and coke which came to over £17. When we queried this the barman said they were both doubles - not a mistake, he said that's just 'what they do' if someone orders a spirit and mixer! Er, what? Aren't you meant to give the customer what they ask for? I'll decide what I'm drinking thanks!! This is dodgy and clearly an attempt to rip off and hoodwink customers. And an optional 12% 'service charge' on the bill - for what? Deliberately pouring an incorrect drink measure and handing it to you? What a joke! We said forget it, left promptly and found a much nicer less pretentious cocktail bar round the corner.

Bouncers are moody, very unhelpful. They dont let you in without girls with you! was not what i expected.

Nice place, but let down dreadfully by its awful, neanderthal doormen. They were rude, obnoxious and downright ignorant, not pleasant at all. They seemed really interested in girls attending the venue - so unprofessional. Be warned if you are a girl attending this venue be prepared to be leered at and made to feel uncomfortable. Hoxton Pony was good but certainly wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't go again as its let down dreadfully by the doormen it employs, suggest they review their recruitment re doormen.

Went here Saturday night for my birthday, had a VIP table which was great,Booked it through Juliana who was very accommodating and happy to help,All staff was friendly and the service was perfect,will defiantly return thanks for a great night

I went there a week ago with my friends. We ordered couple of cocktails, it was really nice and the service it was excellent.

I had spent the evening here on Saturday with a group of friends...The evening was really good until we tried to leave to get a taxi... We walked outside to find 4 bouncers stamping on someones head and beating him up we tried to cross the road and they all come towards my group and one of the bouncers knocked me over in all of the drama and I fell back and hit my head on the floor which caused me to have a fit which left me in hospital..While I was on the floor having a fit not one of the bouncers stopped to see if I was okay and 2 of the party that I was with tried to stop them fighting near me and get them to help. The bouncers then turned on them and knocked one of them out and punched another in the face... one of the men have had to have 4 staples in there head. When the police arrived the bouncers quickly retreated back into the bar. I undertand we do not know what the boy who they where having an altercation with done but stamping on someones head and 4 large bouncers kicking the s*it out of him is not the right way to go about things when they are putting people in danger by doing this. I also understand that I'm sure the bouncers didn't mean to knock me over causing me to hit my head and have a fit...but then punching 2 of the party that was trying to push them away from me IS NOT acceptable. They didn't help me and a lady in the street helped me while I was having a fit. When they ran in when the police arrived there where other men out side saying they where the bouncers friends and trying to fight people.I feel I have to tell this as I never write reviews but due to the fact of 2 of us being knocked out by the bouncers and we where only trying to cross the road and no care as given. They need to be sacked from your bar and you should think about care of duty for the people who drink or are walking pass your bar!!

Could not fault the venue inside at all. Service quick , great music and atmosphere. Drinks slighty pricier , but it is London , however the main man on the door was absolutely awful. He was rude to majority of people that went into the club and I could see that some people were charged entry and others not. My main gripe is the way they treated me and my friend. Some one stood on my friends foot in the club and she cannot handle any pain. She fainted inside the club , and also again when we decided to leave the club at the point. Outside we had to sit down , and the door man told us to simply move along (perhaps he assumed we were really drunk or drug addicts but we were not!) This injury to my friend was no fault of her own. He and the other staff members could see she fainted right outside the club and had no interest what so ever. There was one door man in a green jacket who did try to help us and try to call us a cab urgently. Once again I must point out that the venue was amazing and I recommend it , however they do need to sort out this main door man who seemed very angry and had no interest in helping us.

Booked a table for drinks at 6.30 on a Saturday Night in the cocktail bar. I was a little hesitant at first as there was only 1 other group in the bar with all other tables marked as reserved but empty, but I thought it would still be a good place to have a pre dinner drink. However, they didn't seem to recognise my booking even after I showed the manager my confirmation email. We were left for over 20 minutes stood by the bar while the manager swanned about trying "to sort something" for us, even though nearly every table was empty. After 20 minutes we gave up and left. Appalling attitude from the staff. I'm sure the cocktails are nice but I won't be giving my custom to such unfriendly and unaccommodating staff.

service is average but the decor and environment is fun! We went here for the rooftop movie shows and it is one of the things you must do in London.

We have a brilliant night every time we are in the Hoxton pony, good atmosphere and free food on Thursdays, what's not to like!

We came here as a group for a friends birthday in the summer - location wise, its a little hard to find, especially if you don't know London that well. The bar itself is fairly small, but is on 3 levels it does get very busy though. Music is general Chart and easy to dance too, and cocktails are reasonably priced for London. As a birthday treat we went for the 'Hoxton tea party package', which was served to us in little vintage tea pots and cups. Very cute!

Went there on Friday night with my girlfriends, was terrified after reading the other reviews! It was busy at 8idg when we got there so I tried to suggest somewhere else but I'm SO HAPPY I STAYED! All the staff were friendly and polite but without being robotic like you usually get in the area, the bouncers were very welcoming and the bartenders were amazing cracking jokes and putting on a show!I tried a lot of cocktails upstairs before wobbling downstairs to have a dance. We stayed until the end, I think and never had a reason not to enjoy myself, but THE BEST PART, is that I lost my purse and when I got it back it still had EVERYTHING IN IT!Don't believe these negative reviews this is the best place I've been in a while and I'll be telling everyone I know that this is the place to go!xx

I wasn't sure if this place would live up to the hype but my god it does. I love it, cool atmosphere, amazing drinks and proper retro - I would highly recommended. Deffo going back!!!

I was here for a friends birthday and found the staff to be unaccomodating and untrained. On a number of occasions they decided to take half full glasses of drink from our tables before we had even finished.They seemed completely untrained, making simple mistakes such as putting lemons in gin and tonics instead of limes. The final straw was really the egotistic bouncers that refused entry to a couple of the group without any real reason! I would stay way clear of the this place.

Really friendly staff, go the extra mile with recommendations, helped me and my friend choose our cocktails from the extensive list: asked us specifically what kind of stuff we like/ don't like and then made us something which wasn't on the menu which we both loved. Good music, no trouble, great atmosphere.

A group of us visited on a Saturday night and from the offset you didn't get a very good impression of this place. Now I have lived in Shoreditch many times and was born in London so I know what kind of venues are about. So anyway we arrive at the entrance to be greeted by three doorman and a 'guy with a clipboard' looking us up and down like we had just walked out the sewer!! The three doorman had said nothing and stood stern faced, the guy with the clipboard obviously had a bad day and didn't want to be there as he didn't say hello or anything he just muttered 'how many' and 'have we a reservation' like a worn out robot! We answered there were three of us and no reservation! The guy with the clipboard again looked us up and down and signalled to the doorman to let is in. We arrived in the bar and it wasn't that busy, but was packed with the kind of clientele who should be in Leicester Sq or a 'Weatherspoons' We didn't stay very long or even bother to order a drink. All in all 10 minutes and we was out of this place!For anyone looking for a good night out in Shoreditch don't bother with this rubbish, there are much better bars than this!

Love the staff here! They really know their stuff. A midweek after work drink turned into a bit of a bar crawl, ending here. The 241 was over but the barman was charming and offered us free shots to make up for it. Really friendly too. A fun place, would like to see it as a club soon.

Came here for my 18th the other day and it was truly amazing. Such a good way to spend my night. Although very over priced, it was worth it. Such a good night and such an amazing venue. Thank you so much.

I had heard good things about this place so I called to arrange an office gaggle of girl's night out!When I called up, the lady was very helpful and suggested we try the Pony Tea Party.Basically they serve an infusion jar of cocktail (which you pour yourself into vintage tea cups from the jar's tap) along with a cake stand of delicious cupcakes, kitsch finger sandwiches and little profiteroles.The service was excellent, the cocktails we ordered afterwards were so lovely (think rose petals and vintage jars) and we stayed for the whole evening dancing to the resident DJ.I never write reviews however, I really felt the need to due to some bad reviews I have read on this page.Believe the hype - it really is a gem!

I booked a table here on Friday for a party of 4 at 8:30pm. The music was already pumping and so straight away it was obvious that this is not a place to come for food even early on a Friday - the four of us had to shout at each other to be heard. We were shown to a table straight away, but 15 minutes after our food orders were taken we were told that they were no longer serving food as it was "too busy in the club". I asked to speak to a manager but one didn't arrive, instead we were sent multiple Sambuca shots which did nothing for us as we'd all had small lunches expecting a big dinner. The waitress was smiling and laughing throughout and seemed to think that it was funny...Over an hour later ordering 2 pizzas turned up which we hadn't ordered but were told "that's it". We ate them as we were all now hungry and needed something to line our stomachs.We decided to go downstairs to dance and so I tried for 20 minutes to pay the bill - after being told multiple times that someone would be with me (but didn't turn up) I got the coats and joined the queue for the cloak room. After 15 minutes I was still in the cloakroom queue when a waitress turned up and accused me of trying to leave without paying! Disgusting really - I was stood in the queue to the cloakroom with jackets in my arms! To top it all off I was charged about £60 for the slow service of food that I hadn't even ordered!We did stay for 10 minutes to dance but the basement dance floor was full of around 70-80% guys who wouldn't take no for an answer, constantly grabbing my friends despite them saying no. This was all with the bouncers watching on but doing nothing.Ultimately a real disappointment. I had heard a lot about this place but it's definitely not a food venue - they've got a tiny menu and, as can be seen by other reviews on here, the food often seems to not even materialise!

Me and a friend accidentally came here on Friday night during the peak hours but we had to stay for at least 1 drink because of the music. I had to wait at the bar for 5 minutes but a young moustacioed guy covered in tattos behind the bar greeted me while he was serving the people infront of us and made us laugh when he made our drinks, I cant remember what I had but the bartender suggested it and it was LUSH! I came back again on purpose on Saterday but I couldnt find the same bartender; I think his name was Dan. I will deffo be back.

I'm not an avid visitor to Shoreditch, so when a friend suggested that we visit some bars I really didn't know what to expect. The Hoxton Pony had been recommended and I have to say I was majorly impressed. The cocktails were outstanding and the atmosphere was great. We went on a Thursday after work and we all shared an alcoholic tea party, such a cool idea for a group of girls. Ace service too and very friendly staff. We will be returning and this will definitely be our new local hot spot!

THE worst place I have been to in a long time. I booked this place for my birthday so we could grab some food and cocktails before heading onto the main part of our evening in Shoreditch. When I booked the table I specified that all 11 people in my group would be eating - as we were booking an early table at 7.45pm! We arrived...and we were told that their oven wasn't working so 90% of their food was unavailable. To say I was cross was an understatement...I was baffled NO ONE rang me to tell me they weren't serving food. We asked what they could make and they said chips, olives and sandwiches was all they could offer. My friends weren't very happy but we were ok with the sandwiches, so we ordered those...only to be told that they only had 6 left (for our party of 11 people)!! The staff didn't really seem to care and the lady speaking with us seemed to be smiling and thought it was funny. We left sharply! Awful place and awful rude staff! Don't go!

Superb club with spot on service and a great New Year's. Not keen on the door staff, but otherwise our reserved area was fully stocked and overall service couldn't be faulted. Food is very well presented, the drinks choice is brilliant. Grey Goose, Champers, Jager etc etc. Bring on next time.

The biggest shambles in London. We made a dinner reservation and travelled 30 miles. Only to be told all they had left was 6 beef sandwiches for our party of 12. Completely in accommodating and more interested in serving you drinks and putting you off the food. DO NOT come here!

I went to the Hoxton Pony for my sisters birthday. We had a table booked for 6 people and we had 4 chairs! We ended up complaining so they gave as a table downstairs but said as long as we spend £400 and we would get table service all night. However after we spent over £400 they didn't bother coming to serve our table therefore we had to go to the bar. At the bar the staff were so rude and i waited over 25 minutes to be served when i said to one of the staff this is ridiculous he told the bouncers and they dragged me out because i was ''rude'' . I told the bouncers i am leaving and i will walk by myself however they just grabbed my arms tighter. (i have bruises) It was the worse experience of my life and myself and my 8 friends are disgraced with how we was treated and can promise we will NEVER return. I have also been advised to report this to the police as i was manhandled by 2 grown men!

I wanted to write a review for the Hoxton Pony as had read a lot of negative reviews recently! My friend and I had our birthday party there last night and we had a great evening. We were greeted by friendly bouncers and taken to our table which was reserved in the upstairs bar area (and for free which is great!)We had a really enjoyable evening upstairs at the beginning and then had a little dance downstairs. The music was really good-mainly house. The cocktails were amazing and really quite strong! :) good service at bar and everyone enjoyed themselves.Only negative point would be the toilets need a re-furb, some of the toilet doors were broken and not closing properly and generally and bit run down looking, other than that all positive!

Went out here on a Saturday night with friends. As a group of 4, 18 year old girls well dressed and looking for a nice place to have a few drinks we were turned away instantly due to our age.The doorman were very aggressive and there attitude was belittling, by far the worst and most embarrassing attitude that I have been the subject of in London. I will never return to be degraded in such a manner, in an absolutely disgusting treatment of customers. I suggest you advertise more thoroughly that you are a "over 20's" bar (as they put it) on your events and invest in some training in service and attitude for your staff. I for one will certainly will not be returning.

Had a good night here last week. Nice place, good atmosphere and good service will definitely be back.

I went to the Hoxton Pony for the 2nd time for a friends birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely young blonde woman who took us to our table. As we booked our table for 7pm, we thought the bar would be pretty quite but we were wrong. The atmosphere, music and crowd were perfect. We were meant to stay for the tea party and leave but we ordered another one as soon as our first one was finished. The only thing i was disappointed about was the fact that we wanted more cupcakes but we were told they have to be ordered in advance.besides our desire for more cupackes, we had a great time on saturday night. we will be back again for another alcoholic tea party and those delicious cupcakes!!!

Went on a friday evening for a groupon deal for cupcakes and a cocktail jug, that part was great. We then decided to stay for cocktails but they ended up being incredibly disappointing. Cocktails are expensive but you don't mind if they're actually good but we all ended up leaving half of them behind. Atmosphere was strange, people even stranger. Won't be going back.

Didn't enjoy the drinks or the atmosphere in here. An odd looking crowd didn't help. Maybe not their fault. Wouldn't choose this particular bar in Shoreditch again

Went here for a friends birthday bash. Nice place, not too busy, trendy vibe, friendly bar staff. An area had been hired out where we were offered table service for drinks. The drinks took about fifteen minutes to get to us, whilst everyone at the bar got served. Then we were charged 12.5% service for every order. The friendly waitress apologised for the long wait time, but then it happened again and again. In the end everyone just went to the bar instead as it was quicker and cheaper. There is not point offering table service if it works out much slower and more expensive for the customer - don't bother.The price of the drinks are reasonable and they have a large range of cocktails available, made by competent bartenders. Overall, this place is ok for a spontaneous night out, probably wouldn't go again though as not much charater. Don't get the table service!

Only stopped here for an hour, in waiting for the train back home. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the drinks, but in looking at the menu and seeing the food, it didn't look like value for money and didn't make a think I would ever want to eat here. Do go for a drink and take a look yourself, but others restaurants exist in the area down Rivington Avenue.

I choose to celebrate my Bday at The Hoxton Pony as a friend of mine had told me it was meant to be a good place.I called them in order to book a table. I was explained that I would be asked to purchase at least one bottle of spirit which will be charge 150 pounds !!!! Finally I did not book the area. I almost did not want to go there anymore but I was short on time to find an other bar to go so I just went there very early to sit around a non reserved table.Even though I was expecting high prices, I was surprise to see that it was actually reasonable. The cocktail are very good and cost from 7 to 11 pounds.They also have a dance-floor downstairs. it is very small but the amosphere was good. Music mainly electro and RnB. I had a good time but I did not find anything special to this bar and I don't think I'd go back.

I visited Hoxton Pony with a few of my friends for a catch up after work on a Friday night and it was great. The upstairs part of the bar has a nice hip and trendy vibe, however the basement is somewhat different in terms of atmosphere and has more of a club vibe thus it'll suit different people depending on why they has visited the bar for . The cocktails are nice and priced OK considering the location. This is a good place for warm drinks before a night out or good for drinks and catching up, the music isn't loud so at least you can here each other talk.

Honestly, I only went here to kill time before meeting some friends, and had seen this place mentioned on Time Out London as a place near the bar I was later going to - SO glad I went here though! The loveliest barmen, who are great at making cocktails - I couldn't decide what to have, so told the guy I wanted a gin or vodka cocktail that's kinda sweet so surprise me, and he delivered! Something I'd never had before...lovely!Didn't have food there, so can't speak for that (although gave it a 4 because it sounded nice!)...& I didn't dance downstairs, so I can't speak for that either...but, in terms of decor, filling up with people, buzzing, music, bartenders, and drinks (which are reasonable for cocktails in Shoreditch area!) I'd highly recommend this place!

amazing amazing place! I discovered it around a half year ago and it's the best bar and club in the area! I go there almost every week and definitely will be there for NYE. My friends and I have already booked our tickets! Can't literally wait!
