I have recently found Howe & co mobile Fish and chips, the quality is outstanding. Friendly service, freshly cooked to order . Billiant.

Always hot and well cooked, delivered to your street. Would reccomend to anybody, they always turn up no matter what the weather.

I love the chip Van's that travel around are local area, generally the chips are good, fish excellent. Just wish they would cover more areas on my town.

Usually nice food but today the chips were chewy and tough like they had either been sat for ages or reheated. Definitely not fresh. They are usually very nice. Hopefully this is a one off but I expect chips to be cooked fresh not reheated. Fish cakes were nice.

I have eaten on occasion from this company to which I can't complain. Did witness when passing by the packed van good time ago, a young lad giving a portion of his battered sausage to the cheery young coworker. Staff camaraderie at its finest

We were having an old school re-union and as most of the attendees had been brought up on Howe's fish and chips, it seemed the obvious choice. Apart from a hiccough at the beginning and the fact they hadn't brought sausages that had been ordered, it was soon sorted and within 30 minutes they had served 60+ meals.Might be worth just contacting them the day before, to finalise numbers.

Great service from the van in Quainton. We’re regular customers and always enjoy. Last week they even catered for our dairy free guest with a specially made batter. When I asked questions as to what was in their batter, they were sure to get their facts straight before answering. They have good processes with charts to show what goes into their batter etc. I had confidence that my relatives dietary requirements were met and she enjoyed her fish. I realise we were difficult customers but they say we were no trouble at all. And Mark who serves in the van is great, he always serves with a smile. Highly recommended.

Having made a pre-order for 9 people earlier in the evening, the van should have been with us at 8.30-8.45. However we are still waiting at 9.40. This is not the first time they have been really late or not bothered to turn up, so quite frankly we won’t bother ever again! They know where we are and could have phoned but clearly they don’t want our custom. Hey ho.

Undoubtedly a worthwhile rural service that deserves its reputation and longevity but it is little or no use to villagers in Granborough if they turn up mid afternoon almost before the kids get back from school and obviously not a sensible meal time.

We have been enjoying fish and chips from Howe since 1979. Tonight in Quainton two fish and one chips had increased in price from £10.10 to £11.00.......smallish fish and cold chips......you are about to lose a long term customer.

Okay chips but portions are small and relatively expensive for what you get. Also ordering other options takes a while but is to be expected on a small van.

First off have to start by saying this isnt a review on the food service. More a review for the company... you have awful drivers! We live and travel in and around the Little Horwood area and on three seperate occasions diffent family members have been run off the road by the vans! One time the vehicle having to recieve extensive repairs on the suspension as it was snapped. I'm sure the food and service is great, yet we havent tried you because of the bad road experiences, somthing to think about since you are a mobile service with very clear branding...

This is a very late review but thought I had to pass on my comments. We booked Howe & Co for my wedding in August last year! They were so helpful throughout the booking process and the feedback from guests was great!!!

Me and my staff were so hungry and without cars. (Work in the sticks) I phoned the office to ask if they would make a special detour. To which they obliged. We were all so grateful. The food is amazing and the fish cakes and fish are to die for. Every Wednesday we look forward to hearing the bell.

my wifes 60th birthday party was a huge success and part of the credit must go to Howe and Co for the fantastic catering service provided. Arrived on time set up professionally carried out excellent fresh fish and chips food service, high quality hot and fresh. No grease and the batter was incredible. Not one complaint, everybody commented on how good the food was. Even people that did not normally like fish were converted and said how good it was. Thoroughly recommend Howe & Co for any event you may be planning. Thank you Jamie and the team.

Great little vans whizzing about all over Bucks. You can book them for special events too. All freshly cooked. Good value.

My first experience of the Howe & Co fish and chip van and all I can say is it was lush and a 2 second walk from my front door. Best fish and chips I've ever had!!

Just finished my fish and chips. It was excellent. Was starting to think if the wait was worth it, it certainly was.

We've been getting fish and chips every weekend for the last 3 years here (and 2 years at a previous house). Good prices. Great service. The chips are lovely most of the time, but sometimes the chips taste recooked or a bit too crispy for my liking. The fish is nice all the time though :)Would recommend them to anyone :)

We use the services of the chip van on a regular basis, simply because they are good, they are local and follow the traditions of mobile chippy's. A truly reliable and excellent service for the community. Oh yes, and the food is really good.

Best fish and chips I have had in ages. I hired for my wedding and every guest raved about the portion sizes and how delicious they were. They were on time and made sure everybody had eaten and made a great effort for our gluten free guests. I highly recommend!!!

Reliable consistent friendly and regular. We are regular visitors to family in the area and Howe's chip vans pop up all over the place spot on schedule. More power to their elbow.

Amazing fish & chips, one thing I find being down South the fish & chips are mostly a disappointment....... NOT with Howe & Co, this is our 1st and will definitely not be the last. The fish was cooked to perfection, nice and crispy and the chips tasted of traditional chips. Not forgetting the guys in the van, very friendly. Thank You guys from the Bletchley area :-)

Travelling fish and chip vans visiting a variety of different village locations. We often travel to different villages just to find the van when we are in the mood for good fresh fish (and the chips are good too!)

Best around in Bletchley , the chips are great unlike ones from other shops i ate them all , fish is nice and moist tasted fresh not frozen , batter crisp and tasty.

Found them in a close by accident, had some chips and soft drinks. So delicious we followed them to the next village a day got some more!!!

Used Howe's to cater for an event - great communication and fast efficient service . Everybody loved the food . Have already booked again for later in the year

These bastards drive by everyday as I'm trying to work. The gorgeous smell of fish and chips haunts me. I don't see the van until it's long gone. The smell drifts slowly through the air and I nod to my colleague. "Fish van". He nods. We want a bag of chips plus. But it's too late. They haunt the lanes of Nth Bucks. When sometimes we come across them in a different sphere we find they are real. And the haunting stops. And we find them d'lish.

Every Tuesday at 11.45 the bell rings, ( highlight of the day) The Howe & Co fish and chip van has arrived,There is a urgency to get to the head of the line. The fish and chips are excellent and the aroma is difficult to resist, lunchboxes are sometimes abandoned.The van visits our workplace once a week.

Unfortunately the van stopped coming to our village as there wasn't enough custom, but this van still delivers to a neighbouring village. Nice fish & chips, not too greasy and easy as it saves going into town. The portion sizes vary so much from week to week otherwise I would've given 5*.

Not a huge choice, but enough!! Superb fish, chips, sausage and service!Always on time and never in a rush, friendly service... What more could you want?

Greasy barely cooked chips and poor customer service to boot-the only outstanding thing about this chippy is the price-did not realise I was paying for the van although putting Diesel on the food could only improve its flavour. Asked for a Saveloy only to be given a large sausage-upon pointing out the mistake I was told they don't sell saveloys-so you just put whatever you want in the bag???? Dire service-took back cold chips only to be told they were hot when they were served-I only walked 10 yards to my car!!

Quoted one price and promised "boxes,sauces etc are all included".....then decided the price quoted was for fish only and did not include chips. Ok this could of been a mistake until we were told the chips were the same price as the fish ie they wanted to charge us double the quoted price plus everything else is extra (although we never got boxes sauces or napkins) . Still can't believe that they were trying to say we only ordered fish and not chips!!!!We were told to check the e-mail confirmation which we obviously never ever got so be warned ....you will be charged more than what has been quoted. Definitely the rudest caterer we have ever felt with.

I have fish & chips every week & the best thing is that I get them in time for my lunch hour at work. They never let us down, Wednesday is our "chip day". Spot on food every time. Food spot on, delivery spot on, what more can I say?

The Howe and Co fish and chip vans are a great local institution visiting different local villages on different days. I think it's a great local service and offer freshly cooked chip shop style fish and chips right at your doorstep. I'm giving them five starts to encourage this wonderful service although if it was a static high street shop the actual size of the fillets and type of chips would probably get three stars from me. On the other hand I think they deserve all the stars awards they can get for a great business model and convenience! Well done!

Its our treat on a Wednesday after visiting our grandchildren. My husband has the fish and can eat all of it no soggy skin, lovelybatter. Chips have been cooked a little longer so have colour andtaste, they are yummy. I have the vegie burger very tasty and mushypeas. Do try it, you will not be disappointed. Great job guys, thank you.

Amazed that so many people suddenly are reviewing this fish and chip van as the best gastronomic experience they have ever had! Mmmmm. Everyone is entitled to their own views of course...but in my opinion this is not the best fish & chips you'll ever eat or anywhere close to it!!The best thing about the van is its convenience, the large portions and the pleasant staff...but the fish and chips is no more than average & is often very greasy (especially the chips). There are far better takeaways in Aylesbury - McCoys in Buckingham Park and Ocean Wave in Quarrendon are both better in my view - but of course they don't deliver whereas the van comes to you.

Really tasty, fresh cooked 'proper' chips - best sausage and chips I've had for years. Friendly staff too.

Over 10 years ago I used to work for a motor parts delivery service and Saturday afternoons I'd usually get a delivery to Grendon Underwood (or thereabouts) and pick up sausage and chips from Howe & Co as a treat. Two years ago I moved to Towcester and one Thursday evening I could hear a bell being rang from a vehicle in the distance. Another week I was in my car on a Thursday evening and could smell fish 'n' chips in the air, but was nowhere near the chip shop. I turned a corner to carry on home and imagine my surprise when I glimpsed that familiar blue and cream van coming round the other corner to greet me! Their service is amazing, for example the road where I live isn't one of their usual spots, but I rang the van one evening to see whereabouts they were to go and collect. But no, they came to me instead. The chips are lovely, as is everything they do and the fish isn't swimming in grease. Best chippy as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes if I'm out and about and I fancy chips, I'll go online to see which village they're in and if I'm nearby, that's where I'll go!

Brilliant fish and chip service! Staff are polite and friendly. Prices are very reasonable as well as the portions. Arrives on my family's street on time. Tastes amazing and last but not least they do not keep you waiting long. Definitely recommend it!

Every Saturday night is fish and chip night for us. These simply are the best fish and chips ever, probably because they are cooked just before the van stops for us. Great value and prepared by friendly staff who go out of their way to provide a brilliant service. We have even had a knock on the door when we miss the bell!.

Howes' fish & chips are the tastiest available within the immediate area of our village. We always enjoy our Friday night supper freshly cooked from their van.

We moved to a lovely little village not minding its lack of takeaways then discovered that Wednesday night is chip van night. Really friendly people in the van, delicious hot fresh fish and chips. Also highly recommend the fish cakes and pies and sausages. Yes, we've tried everything and nothing has ever disappointed. YUM

The delightful little vans visit our village every Saturday afternoon, and it's great to have a tasty meal delivered to the door. We buy them most weeks, and get quite excited when we hear the bell ring. The fish & chips are really good - better than from many bricks-and-mortar shops - the people are helpful and friendly and willing to bring the food into houses for elderly and disabled customers. We often keep them to reheat an hour or later and find they are still excellent quality.

A great service for Hartwell. We love the food and get it when we have visitors. Good price too. Around Hartwell on Friday evenings.

One of the vans comes to Potterspury on Monday nights, and there is always a queue. The people are very friendly and the meals are good value and tasty.

They come to us on a Thursday and they are always cheerful and I always have a laugh with them. the chips are always lovely especially when you get some crackling in them from the fish. They also sell the most lush curry sauce.

Good value for money. Great service. The best fish cakes I've ever tried. Always on time. Helpful with the elderly. Food is better than the chip shops we have in town.

The van comes onto my Estate every Monday night and although we are one of the last stops the Staff are always happy to cook your order from fresh if they have run out.It seems strange how a mobile Chippy works but if you get the chance you have to try it - they are really good.Just wish they were in my area on different nights and not so late as i would certainely use more often

We tried this recently, having just moved to the area. The food is top quality. Always fresh, hot and delivered with a smile. Cost is very reasonable. We were surprised at the amount of cars pulling up to buy from this mobile van. It's easy to see why. Absolutely the best fish and chips for miles around.

Wish I'd known this when I wrote my first review but I am delighted to have discovered that the blue Howe chip vans are now in Buckingham itself on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes. Great to have the simple fresh fish well cooked with perfect chip as a cheap and tasty midday snack.

We first encountered Howe and Co at an outdoor event at Princes Risborough. These friendly blue vans seem to pop up everywhere. Good fresh fish and lots more. Friendly quick and helpful staff. Wish I'd taken some photos.

Quintessentially English. A mobile fish and chip business with several delightful light blue vans. Friendly drivers/fryers. We were in late, and made no plans for supper and had little or no energy. And then came the hand bell. Excellent fresh fish and the rest. Perfect. Why doesn't every neighbourhood have one of these? Reminded me of when milk was delivered. And the Sunblest bread van. And the laundry etc.

This is a great service...mobile fish & chip van...Fish etc cooked to Order. All v fresh; good sized portions, friendly service....What more can I say...the van that comes to you!!I just wish they came to me Saturday eve...as I moved....& its now friday!! Look out for them...well worth a try if you're a fan of great fish & chips!!

Based for generations at a Little Horwood close to Wimslow and serving lots of outlying villages in the broader area with regular rounds and sometimes by specific request, as well as doing contract outdoor catering. The lovely period feel of the vans and the invariable friendliness of the guys in them together with the very good value and well cooked food makes this an impressive and delightful unusual service. Staying locally for a few days before and after a foreign holiday this was a first rate and convenient no effort food option at the end of some busy days. To give an idea of price or last visit cost us a bit less than £10 for three ample portions of chips, one cod, one chunky fish cake and a load of peas. Highly recommended.
