Howard Arms in High Peak

My son and his partner had recently moved in to the area. Went out for drinks and my son said let's go in here! What a mistake!! He was stopped and asked for ID, he showed his driving licence, then the bouncers hands went in every pocket, patted him down, asked his D.O.B and then rifled through his wallet all whilst up in his face. Myself(mum) his dad and his girlfriend all found this extremely uncomfortable to watch. None of us were searched or handbags asked to be checked. No explanation of why this was needed. We went in the pub and walked straight out, horrible vibe. Avoid!!!!

People of all ages having a great time and living their best life!! Amazing atmosphere for a local pub. Attentive bar staff and the landlords are VERY easy on the eye! Worth a visit just to see them!!! They are both friendly and chatty! It's feels like a very inclusive vibe

Not happy with the place as I was asked to search my wallet I said I am happy to open my wallet and all sections but the bouncer was not allowed to touch my wallet, I was told if I can't hold it you are not coming in so I said I'm not coming in then and left. I agree that any bouncer can refuse entry if you refuse a search, I did not refuse a search I refused to give my property to a stranger whether it be a bouncer or not which I am well within my rights to do I was quite willing for them to look in my wallet as I have nothing to hide but would not hand it over. I don't understand why this was not acceptable. By law you are not allowed to take someone's personal belongings without consent this is stated on sia doorstaff security website. By surrendering my personal property I am then open to be a victim of fraudulent accusations whether this be of personal identity theft or mistaken identity in regards to contraband accusations. I agree that safety is paramount and checking people is a good thing but do it correctly please

We called in for a cup of tea as we could not find a cafe on the High street. This is a large dated pub but they allowed dogs and the tea was fine.

Went in for drinks with my girlfriend. Yes I am from Liverpool but strangely enough we are not all criminals. Observed the bar tender informing the locals I was a scouser and then the idiot comments started. Bad enough from the uneducated locals but when staff start doing it. AVOID this pub

Friendly people, cozy and clean place to have a good drink, there is a selection of things to do like pub games watch all the sport on TV. Well worth visit.

Ridiculous. Ask for drink given wrong one, was told by landlord would have to pay to change. Smelt bad, bad food, bad in everyday. Avoid!

This pub is a good size with lots of seating but rather expensive compared to everywhere else in Glossop so not worth it. It also smells like there is a dog but i bet there is no dogs...

On first impressions things seemed good, was hardly anyone in the pub so barman was quite attentive, asking how much cola I wanted in my brandy, it wasn’t cheap but seemed ok, there was a live soccer match on screens throughout the building, we went in a section that had music on at the same time as the footie, however it was stuck in a time warp with dreadful 80’s non hits, we simply had to move, on getting another drink, this time the barman was far too occupied with his girlfriend and her pal, thus didn’t ask how much cola and simply drowned the brandy. Didn’t like the ambience, will never return.
