Went in to try hot chocolate in the cafe and it was lovely. I tried hot chocolate with ginger. I got the VIP card too because it gives 20%off drinks and other perks, which means I will definitely be back

I have only given 2 starts cause even though the hot chocolate was lovely! The place itself was dirty and needs a makeover... chairs are grubby, walls are dirty with paint coming off... its quite expensive here so would expect a lot more

I think Hotel Chocolat offers the most tasty coffee as it's so nourishing and creamy but not heavy. Also, the ice creams are very tasty and rich. The shop is clean, and the seating area is always tidy. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. If you become a VIP member, you can enjoy a 20% discount on your purchases.

Very efficient click and collect service

Delicious hot chocolate, a real treat on a Saturday afternoon. I had the salted caramel and clementine hot chocolate, and the cocoa whip is a must have. The cafe is always busy but the staff are wonderful.

Kids had hot chocolate (classic) which was really rich and smooth they loved it

Best chocolate milkshake I've had but the service was not great. Left my mum who has to use a walker while I went to the bathroom and even though there was no other customers and 2 members of staff behind the counter within viewing distance of our table they couldn't bring it to the table my mum had to limp over and collect it.

Great selection of chocolate, but on the pricey side

We used the cafe at Hotel Chocolate. It was expensive and filthy. No tables had been cleared and cleaned and it wasn’t busy at all. Disappointing.

Coffee, ice cream, what is there not to like, drink excellent coffee surrounded by chocolate! Kidding? No.

Cocoa whip was not available over the Holiday period, so we didn't drink anything (It is so nice on top of hot chocolate) Bought some chocolates, but they are getting more expensive... £13 for 3 small packs, used to be £10 up until last year.

Today I have decided to give Hotel Chocolat a review based on my recent experience with an order that went wrong and was never addressed. I made an order from Hotel Chocolat before Christmas for a Christmas present which came horribly soiled, the box it came in was completely wet and soaked, but it didn't seem like with water. Royal Mail had bagged it in a plastic bag due to its state. I made a complaint the day I received it which was responded to after Christmas (which I understood) however, instead of dealing with my problem they made an excuse that I used the wrong name in the complaint form (I used my name rather than the name of the recipient of the gift) and therefore I needed to resubmit my complaint. This is despite I used the correct order number and showed dated pictures of the mess that was my present. They did assure me that they will take care in the future to make sure my order is not damaged (which is very little consolidation since I never plan to order from them again). I resent the complaint as they asked, which the automated reply told me I would get a response within 72hrs. It has now been 4 days and no response, so I've come to the conclusion this order problem will not be resolved by Hotel Chocolat and so I am writing this review. I just thought people should know that this is clearly a company who do not care one bit about it's customers.

One of the place to have best hot chocolate. It was not watery like other places. It was rather thick and the perfect flavour of chocolate was just up to the mark. I generally avoid sweet/sugar, hence it was just amazing to enjoy it 😍

Hotel Chocolat has the best chocolate shake I have had so far. They have a lot of variety in flavors for both shakes and hot chocolate. The staff are great and friendly. I would highly recommend trying a shake here if you like milkshakes and like to explore different flavors.

We stopped in to shop and for a hot drink. High quality chocolate based goods as ever. We had a hot chocolate and a mocha that was delicious. Downsides were long queues. Staff very polite and efficient but not enough staff to cope with number of shoppers in the run up to Christmas. Also the furnishings in the coffee/chocolate shop need some TLC as seats stained which takes away from the quality/luxury image Hotel Chocolat like to promote.

Nice shop, same as most. Gigantic queues, no-one managing the store to manage staff and the queues.

This is the place to buy chocolates as a gift for someone. Lots of unusual flavours.

You have to be a serious chocoholic to step into this place. It's very pricey but ok for the occasional sweet treat or gift.

Nice shop, it has a cafe too but didn't use it

First time I've been in! I've been trying to avoid the temptation!! But to be honest I only have to look at the prices and that's enough to put me off! I saw a small pot of chocolate cherries, got excited then saw they were £10 you just can't justify that price! Anyway my friend insisted we go into the cafe for a hot chocolate. The place was heaving which was very unpleasant especially on crutches. That didn't make for a nice atmosphere but once served the staff were very friendly and efficient. 2 hot chocolates and one chocolate brownie cost me almost £15 but I must say they were delicious, a very nice smooth chocolate and the brownie was scrumptious. Great for a treat when you've just been paid.

Went for hot chocolate and a few little treats. Brilliant shop, wonderful display of incredible gorgeous chocolates.

Just brought a velvetiser and must say that the young tall English lad was so helpful when we were trying to decide, I must say he is a credit to front of house and all the other staff were very nice too. Well done it make a lovely change to be greeted with lovely customer service for a change.

Sat 21/10/23: Very busy in CMK today. Hotel Chocolat looks great.... Halloween goodies and Christmas gifts on display already. Visited the coffee shop for 2 X Classic Hot Chocolate with chocolate cream. Plus 2 X stunningly gorgeous milk chocolate enrobed shortbread biscuits (that's my Autumn treat sorted). SO glad I have my own Hotel Chocolat velvetiser at home, so I can treat the family on cold frosty evenings. Well done Angus (and teams), you are still doing a grand job!!!! Previous review: Great shop. Great products. Super coffee shop inside and great ice creams. Recommend the latte with milk chocolate shortbread biscuit at the cafe Yum. Then there's the free samples in the shop and the VIP club. 😍

This shop and café is one of my favourite place to chill and enjoy delicious treats I highly recommend. Chocolates are top notch quality and the ice creams and sundaes are delicious. The customer service at Milton Keynes branch is excellent and friendly workforce.

Delicious luxury chocolates and drinks, good selection for yourself or gifts for others

This was a great experience. The staff were friendly and it had a nice vibe. The ice cream was also absolutely delicious as well. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

Ditto the last comment. I can certainly say that the staff in here would never be able to get a job in Costa, Starbucks, Pret or Nero. The service was soooooo slow and unprofessional. Staff talking about hair do’s It makes me wonder if this is another example of racism towards me because subsequent customers were served quickly and with a smile!!!

don't expect a warm welcome,a smile or even eye contact....spend £49.50 and not a thank you or have a nice day,we were the only two customers in the shop at this time so not busy or any excuse for the rudeness and this is not the first experience of this attitude

Was a really good selection of chocolate. The only choice that was a bit limited was the lactose free there was only 3/4 falvours to choose from. Staff member was really helpful though

Theres no smile first of all no greetings. And the worst the second girl made my order wrongly without even saying sorry. If i am tourist this is disgusting attitude. All i want is to enjoy my drink before start working but i get unpleasantly bad service

Excellent place to treat yourself or going with friends and family. I have ordered chocolate milk shake and raspberry cake. All really fresh and high quality ingredients. I will come back for sure! :)

There is a wide range of luxurious flavours to choose from. The staff seemed very friendly and I had a nice chat. It is a little expensive, but if it wasn't, it wouldn't be a treat.

A really good hotel choc probably one of there best store and areas for sitting to eat and drink, you must get a cocoa whip on your drink its amazing

I had an iced drink and a slice of Victoria sponge. Very nice and had an unexpected 20% off due to signing up for the rewards card! Lovely restaurant area which seems to be popular, and friendly staff.

Lady at the till was quite rude and abrupt! Just because I queried a price ! The price ticket was in the wrong place. So a bit more customer service wouldn’t be a bad idea. And an apology about the ticket on the wrong item would have been more acceptable.

We wanted to buy the cups that come pre-packaged with the velvetiser, they were not available in-shop or on-line. Strange decision as on E-Bay they attract huge interest. Its the easiest statement to give in-store have you tried on-line. Well trained staff should know its available,not be guessing. That said wonderful flavours of chocolates available pleasingly packaged. If you are after a piece of decadence and are not restrained by price, you will be spoilt for choice.

Great hot chocolate with chilli and pleasant staff but the cafe is just the end of the shop and not becoming to an expensive drink. It is fine but not outstanding.

I really enjoyed the hot chocolate. I have the 70% dark chocolate. The chocolate cream on top is a really nice touch.

As always Hotel Chocolat was excellent on all fronts; range of products, staff and quality, all excellent. Out of curiosity I bought some vegan chocolate to find out how they compared to non vegan chocolate, they were equally superb, you wouldn't have known they were vegan if it didn't say so on the packaging.

I went in for a coffee and was surprised to find out that they had run out of cakes and muffins. I had to decline the coffee and walk out.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, first time back in CMK shopping since lockdown easing, but unless desperate quite prepared to wait until the floor stickers and one way system (which many did not adhere to) has been returned to normal.

We visited the store today and the young lady assistant could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. We really appreciate the time she spent with us.
