Authentic place with a broad selection of all things Sichuan spicy. We ordered a bowl of beef with glass noodles in spicy broth and self selected a bunch of goodness for the mala spicy pot. Super tasty, fair price for the portion size. I can't believe it has taken us so long to check this place out! This will certainly become our new regular. Until next time!

My Chinese friend brought me here for food and he selected my food for me. It is different to a UK restaurant where you have to wait to be seated, we came around midday and just walked in. Ticked what we wanted on the menu and then he took it to the counter at the back to order and pay. The noodles were incredible and the beef was soft and lovely. Really relaxed vibes and great if you're a solo diner.

10 out of 10. Braised beef noodles were just amazing. The mango dessert won my heart ❤

I really enjoyed my experience at hot 7. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, explaining the menu and giving great recommendations. The food was amazing, the portion size is very generous for the price. The hot pot experience was very enjoyable, 101% would recommend for anyone looking for an authentic Asian restaurant.

downstairs is noodle, upstairs is hot pot. went for the noodle, sitting area not massively big and not comfortable. you can see thru the windows. order at the counter and paid. food is good.

Maocai/Mala Tang/Stock Soup. I couldn’t tell the difference. I ordered the non-spicy stock and it came out exactly as I wanted. It can be said that there is no service here. You have to explore by yourself when you come in. Probably only Chinese people can order food without any barriers 😂

Going in as vegetarians was a bit daunting, but we had two great dishes. The ordering is done by ticking a sheet and taking it up to the counter. Nice space, but Sat by the door and it was a bit chilly!

Overall it's pretty good, the taste is very authentic, I hope the store can be more comfortable

Beef roll and beef ball is not tender and I won’t recommend the pepper pork intestine and chicken soup base. That soup tasted like pepper water. Very poor service. Needed to wait 1 hour for the food. Will not definitely come back for a second time.

We went there based on the marketing we’ve been seeing on Little Red Book. Plenty of space upstairs and clean. Super friendly staff. The hotpot base was amazing but the quality of the food could have been better, especially compared to Haidilao. We had fried pork and fried rice cakes. Both were over fried and too oily. I would avoid the fried dishes - stick to the hotpot. The sauces at the counter are limited as you only get soy sauce, oyster sauce, chilli oil and chopped garlic. But they are free as opposed to the £6 sauce at Haidilao with a lot more variety. Pretty empty place and quiet - we went on a Sunday evening. Good place for a calm and chill dinner as a group.

菜吃着还行，服务为负数，可以说很垃圾，没人服务。只能现金或者微信转账，被告知没有网络无法刷卡，汇率高的离谱，而且说话很不客气，好像欠他钱一样。收了多大气啊委屈你在这做菜😂，第一次到店里吃印象极差！

Authentic hotpot, definitely worth to give a try!

Looked for a sit down chinese and just happened across this venue. Really authentic food, speedy service and staff were really friendly. Some items on the menu were not for the faint hearted but I like all that stuff. Tried the chicken gizzard kebabs......hmm, might swerve them next time, but honestly the food was excellent and would eat there again.

Very different to any Chinese I had eaten in before. All of your food cooked in a broth in front of you. I enjoyed it but not sure all of my party did. I found the staff really helpful and they explained everything very well.

First time we attended this restaurant to taste their food. The place is freezing cold with the heaters broken. The upstairs area not accessible. Staff absolutely not welcoming despite we asked for support with their menu that needs to be build up by guests. menu was not easy to understand for someone new and we asked for advice to members of staff 3 times going ourself to the service aerea. In the we filled up the checklist and we have been said it was incorrect. because of the lack of assistance they resulted not welcoming at all we left and opted for a different restaurant.

The stuff didn’t reserve the table for us although we have booked one earlier that day. We placed our order while waiting for a tablet, however, the stuff forgot our order and lost it. We came to a hot pot restaurant and waited for 40mins without a proper service or didn’t even see a hot pot, which is funny. This is just the worst Chinese hot pot I have ever been to in Birmingham.

点菜的地方很干净，能够看到菜品都很新鲜！看起来就很有食欲😋 味道也不错！ 微辣的辣度也可以 肥肠很烂糊，但其实我想吃有嚼劲的，不过这是炖的，想要和炸的一样格唧格唧的也不太可能😂

A nice place for meeting friends and eating food. Service and food was okay... have had better and thus, is not my favourite place so I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Tried its henan noodles 河南汤烩面, fried pork 小酥肉, and some dessert "3-umami" ice 三鲜冰粉。 They were all very good, especially the dessert ice dish (it's got mesona jelly, brown sugar, peanuts, alcohol rice paste pudding, and some other things I can't recall) which is a must-try. Superb taste overall.

One of our favourite spicy 🔥 food places. I'm from Chengdu city China,so I can tell you it's very genuine Sichuan food. Try the sticky rice stick with brown sugar, deep fried meat stripes and the one person hot pot (it's that hot 🔥 that will make you cry), but you can also ask for mild. Rice noodles with yellow peas are the ones in the 2nd picture.

如果单论食物我能给到4星， 但是如果讨论到服务，我希望给0星。因为完全没有服务可言，我作为一个中国人，进店后傻站着了半天也没有人安排座位。我亲眼目睹两位外国友人因为不熟悉菜单也无人服务，在看了菜单半天后最终选择放弃。当然最重要的一点是这家店的支付方式，这家店只收现金或者WeChat ,但是这家汇率还出奇的高。希望大家小心，同时也向世界道歉，这绝对不是我们中国餐厅应有的服务水准。

Taste awesome but little pricy, very typical Chinese flavour!

Noodles and hotpot soup too salty too much MSG. Yep we like flavours when dining out but not to this unbearable level. It used to be alright 2 years ago. And this situation gets worse over the years, really not worth staying thirty for the rest of the night. Chili garden nextdoor has better Sichuan noodles.

Great Hot & Sour Noodles 🍜 With Pig Intestines 🐖 😋 Although the noodle bar doesn't really have a service. You just walk in and tick the menu you want and then find any avaliable seating. Big portions but the potatoes noodles is the thin ones. There's not like a choice of how hot you can have it which is a shame

The best place to get hotpot cravings fixed. They’re not as expensive as Haidilao but their services of course not as good as Haidilao. For value wise, I highly recommend this place! Average spending per person is around £20. Make sure to try their mala soup!

Absolutely delicious, after figuring out how to order we were absolutely blown away by the quality and deliciousness of the food. I feel revitalised and energised after a beautiful meal that cost us just over 20 quid. Recommend the steam bowl w fried tofu (it socks up the delicious broth)

Very authentic Chongqing hot pot, the moment when u walk into the restaurant, you could smell the soul of the hotpot. Been there a few times, not very pricey compares to London. The restaurant always looks clean and cosy. Wish they could open one in London.

Spicy 7 strikes me as closer to authentic Sechuan cuisine. It is still European fusion, but not as much as most places in the area.

Went with a friend on a whim, very impressed by the high quality of the food and the spice levels. Will definitely go again and would definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't yet. Staff are polite and willing to help if you can't understand it.

Very authentic Chongqing hot pot using soup base made from genuine cow's oil. A bit on the higher side in terms of prices of food compared with other hot pot places I have been to but it is worth it because they provide choices I have not come across elsewhere. Very spicy! My stomach had a bit of a disaster the same night I ate here but I don't regret a single bit.

Good authentic Sichuan noodles. - We ordered noodles with pork and noodles with beef. Both were really good and tasted just like in China. But I really disliked their small, cheap single use plastic spoons and went upstairs to get some metal ones. Also the cold wind from the open door, which could not be closed, was very annoying. The employees should consider not to cough with their mouth open and uncovered when they pass your table.

Wow this is some spicy, spicy, expensive hotpot. First of all I recommend the coconut drink - it's amazing. Hot 7 is a really nice place inside and a premium feel but when you're paying £5-8 for each small dish I can't say it's great value. The raw ingredients do not really differ from hot pot places that offer unlimited refills for £17-20 per person (including beef, lamb, fish etc). This meal cost double what I'm used to. For that you get a fancy hot pot table and some extra spicy broth which makes your Chinese girlfriend steal your coconut milk. They do have some fresh dishes here that I'm told are more authentic and not as easy to find though.

Hot pot was quite nice and service was rather quickly. A little on the expensive side though. Their hot pot isn't per person, it is per item.

Amazing hot pot and Mao cai (one person hot pot, pic below). It threw me back home from my first taste. It’s the best and the most authentic hot pot in England I’ve ever been to. I wish they can open a branch in London too. However if you don’t like spicy food this may not be the right place.

Terribile food flavourless and gave us food poisoning (needed to go to hospital), Mega expensive too, 80 quid for a below average amount, tables and chairs super uncomfortable as well. I am still disgusted. Avoid like the plague

It's was ok, not much to choose from dip wise. It was quite expensive for the quality. I think there are better hot pots in town.

Chinese hot pot in the UK. From the basic soup to the blow your socks off Chongqing broth, this place could equally exist in China without standing out. Come with a group, choose your broth and ingredients and cook away. It's as much a tasty social activity as it is a meal. Ingredients are fresh, there are some basic sauces to self serve from. Be hungry, do your best not to over order and come out with a smile (and clothes that will remind you of hot pot the next day)
