If you want decent service, I recommend trying the Wagamama branch in the Bullring as the service is so much better. The team is friendly and deliver a service with a smile, but they also come over to check everything is OK with your meal, whereas at Brindley Place, you don't get any of that. We were a group of 4 and thought we'd try this branch, but none of us were impressed. We were told the food came out fresh so our meals would be given to us at different times, but we were surprised at how cold the food was, considering it was supposed to be freshly cooked. Out of the 4 meals we ordered, 3 of them were cold. Our drinks also took a very long time to get to us. The staff weren't rude towards us, but they came across as miserable, especially the guy taking our bill. Not one of them came over to us after we were given our food, so whenever he needed something, we had to keep trying to get their attention. We won't be coming back to this branch again, but I do recommend trying the branch in the Bullring for a better service and atmosphere.

This is the only bad review I've ever felt the need to post. Stopped in for lunch and this was up there with potentially the worst meal I've had, with the exception of a couple of dodgy kebabs at 3am. Gyoza that were dropped into a deep fat fryer rather than pan fried, which had them resembling a deep fried pasty. A Katsu curry with a curry sauce that hadn't been cooked out leaving it powdery and lacking any flavour. Pickled ginger with too much salt in the pickling liquid (I'm unsure if this is done on-site or from "HQ") A chicken teriyaki soba which was shocking, firstly it arrived about 15/20 minutes after my partners, when it arrived the chicken resembled something akin to an attempt my 9 year old niece would've produced, an exceptionally dry, thin, but somehow cold chicken breast that had no teriyaki sauce on it. We told the member of the wait staff, who at first suggested it was just the cut of the meat but then offered to have another portion of chicken made. We took them up on the offer and the result was the same, I didn't eat it. Also, the noodles which were served were standard egg noodles, instead of the soba noodles which were ordered. I didn't bother saying anything at this point and just ate the noodles served due to not wanting to wait or have the chef cooking me something after I could hear him moaning about my complaint loudly from the kitchen. Finally, after the meal myself and partner have had bouts nausea and frequent bathroom breaks, with hers being far worse. Likely on account that she ate the chicken served whereas I didn't. It is genuinely baffling how in a chain restaurant like Wagamama's, where most of the food will be prepared either in a central kitchen or to an exacting recipe from corporate (likely with the same suppliers nationwide) can go so wrong. The only saving grace of the meal was the member of the waitstaff who helped us, a young man who removed my food from the bill.

I have been to Wagamama at Brindley Place about once a month for the last few years. Because I know what I like, and its always of good quality, I have generally gotten the same thing every time - Teriyaki Soba w/ Steak and a large bottle of Asahi. Today when I arrived the server Thomas, who had served me several times before, knew what I was going to order before I did, even able to to pre-empt my request to get the Soba without Coriander. Wonderful service! Wagamama Brindley Place is always a good time, I visit to spend some time away from the office and relax with some great food and a podcast. The new hot honey chicken pieces are also delicious and highly recommended! I shall not stop going anytime soon.

We had a lovely meal at Wagamama last night. Food was delish when it came, server was lovely and very attentive, she clocked that one of our dishes hadn’t arrived so went and got it and stood at the hatch till it did come, food didn’t come together so it felt a little haphazard, but what did come was lovely other than the food being a bit all over the place it was a nice meal and good night out. Terrible service from the beginning, waited for what felt like an eternity to be seated in a group of 6 yet was seated at a table for 4 and even then would of been a tight squeeze, then we went back and fourth from server Rosie and Lauren all the way up to Amrit, after we finally moved ourselves to a suitable table we had little to no contact with any staff, as well as a few members of our party noticing that staff making small remarks and gestures behind our back as we left, definitely would not go here again after what felt like a visit to the comical Karens diner

Customer service DOES NOT EXIST with Brindley Place Wagamamas. We waited 25 minutes to be sat down and whilst waiting nobody spoke to us. We were a reserved table of 6 and the waitress ROSIE clearly didn’t care about her job, she was rude and senseless to us. When we were FINALLY sat down we were placed at a table for 4!!!! Whilst there was an empty table for 6 with nobody sat at it. ROSIE then proceeded to place a couple and a table for four at said table for 6. This really upset us as ROSIE didn’t even apologise to us and when we asked for another table she simply walked off. When we spoke to LAUREN the manager we were then told that the couple that were sat AFTER us at said table for 6 were regulars and neither LAUREN or ROSIE apologised to us. In fact ROSIE persisted to seat other people at 6 seater tables purely out of pettiness until we decided to move ourselves to one. Nobody came and asked us how our food was and apart from AMRIT who seemed much more with it and helpful, we were treated with cold responses. I personally don’t see how one cannot count to 6. However, be that as it may, the service that we were given was the worst customer service I have EVER received. Just basic lack of common sense and people skills. It’s frustrating when we’d made every possible effort to have a nice and enjoyable evening and we’re treated rudely when I’d never treat someone with the same disrespect we were treated with.

And to make things even more infuriating, ROSIE then gave that larger table to a couple and another group of four—people who arrived after us. What made this worse was the total lack of basic decency. When we pointed out the issue, ROSIE didn’t even apologize—she just walked away as if we weren’t worth her time. When we asked to speak to a manager, LAUREN, we were basically told that the other guests got priority because they were "regulars." Regulars or not, how is it acceptable to treat customers this way? The sheer lack of professionalism, common sense, and basic courtesy was shocking. This was, without a doubt, the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant.

When we tried to raise the issue, Rosie walked off without a word. Unbelievable. Speaking to Lauren, the so-called manager, only made things worse. She informed us that the couple who took our table were regulars—as if that somehow justified treating us like second-class citizens. Neither Lauren nor Rosie had the decency to apologize for their complete lack of professionalism. I struggle to understand how an employee at a restaurant can’t count to six, but perhaps Rosie was simply too tired to care. Regardless, the treatment we received was nothing short of disgraceful—easily the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The sheer lack of common sense, courtesy, and basic people skills displayed by the staff ruined what should have been an enjoyable evening. We made every effort to be polite and reasonable, yet were met with sheer rudeness and incompetence. Wagamama Brindley Place should be ashamed.

In fact, Rosie continued to seat other diners at six-seater tables while we were left struggling at a table too small for our group. Eventually, we took it upon ourselves to move to an appropriately sized table. Throughout the entire meal, nobody came to check on us or ask if our food was okay. The only person who showed any competence or consideration was Amrit, who seemed much more attentive and helpful than the rest of the team. We weren’t even asked about desserts or anything after our initial order. Plus, my chilli ramen arrived without any chillies. This summed up the overall lack of attention and care we experienced during our visit. I genuinely can’t comprehend how such basic mistakes were made. We did everything we could to plan for an enjoyable evening, only to be met with rudeness, disorganization, and a complete lack of customer service. It’s disheartening to be treated with such disrespect when we would never behave the same way toward others. We even saw them talking about us behind our backs after we complained! Just disrespectful!

What a letdown. The place itself felt more like a prison canteen than a restaurant —completely lacking in atmosphere. We tried the food, and it was so bland it felt like no effort had gone into it at all. For the money we spent, we expected so much more. It seems like they’re focused on wanna be a cultural cuisine rather than quality. Wouldn’t try ever again wagamama, don’t get the whole hype.

Nice spot by the canal, windows overlooking. Well-spaced out. Elevator. Servers are very nice and accommodating. Possibly found a nice returning spot in Brindley for me. Wagamama food's always good but my choice here will always be a udon in vegetable broth with tofu and mushrooms (no other veggies). I don't often eat out but when I do this is one of my choice spots.

OK, I'm going to start with the staff. I have a peanut allergy, and the staff were visibly nervous handling my families food. They told me that an incident had recently occurred where something had gotten contaminated with peanuts and someone was ill as a result. However, despite their obvious nervousness, they were excellent. The girl who took over our order was lovely, and the poor lad who accidently put one of our bowls on another table was so worried. They were all brilliant and the food was as good as you expect. The battered mushrooms were just superb. We will happily use them again.

Tried another Wagamama out this weekend. This time in Birmingham. Food was great and served quickly. The restaurant was quiet. The only complaint is that we ordered edamame with salt, and they came covered in fine table salt as opposed to flake sea salt. That was a first for me.

Solo había ido a Wagamama’s en 3 ocasiones antes de esta visita, así que todavía no he explorado el menú tanto como me gustaría, en esta ocasión elegí la soba de saku saku de pato crujiente rallado que estaba muy buena. He encontrado que la comida siempre es bastante llena aquí, pero no barato. He mencionado esto en una reseña para otro Wagamamas que he visitado, y sé que es todo su ethos, pero realmente no me gusta cómo sale tu comida en diferentes momentos - en esta ocasión creo que esperé alrededor de 10 minutos para mi comida después de que mis amigos habían recibido la suya, esto básicamente significa que estás sentado allí por algún tiempo solo viendo a otras personas comer, lo que no es una experiencia divertida. The classic wagamama experience. Lovely food which is standard, with great service to match. I had the chicken coconut kare curry, which is a 'new' dish since my last visit and a side of bang bang cauliflower. My only really small complaint was that I wasn't a massive fan of the table/chair setup, but that's just personal preference. Overall the usual great Wagamama experience.

Our first experience at Wagamama and we were not disappointed. Great service, tasty food and a buzzing ambience. We shared a couple of small plates and had a main each - all were delicious. There is such a choice on the menu, we shall just have to return!

Came here for a lunchtime catchup with some friends from work. Bearing in mind it was Easter hols at 12pm, the venue was reasonably populated, but not full by any means. Despite there being quite a few staff milling about, there didn't seem to be anyone manning the front of house area (there is one here, otherwise we would have just sat down somewhere). We were seated after a brief delay. And then came the slightly longer delay of getting served. Which we did eventually - and from that point onwards - all was good. The menu piqued interest and the young lady serving us was attentive, friendly and helpful. Even showed us how to pay using the QR code on the table, which was a great idea. I opted for a chicken ramen with a side order of red chillies. My friends had a variety of battered shrimp and what I can only describe as "dumplings" and bao buns. The food was on point. An amazing culinary experience. Highly recommended.

First time trying Wagamama and definitely not the last. The service had been amazing and followed by lovely food. We was sat down by a lovely lady who had explained everything to us (we didn’t get her name but she was pregnant) and then our server was Kamile. Kamile was very attentive, our dishes were being cleared quickly and all the food was tasty. Will definitely come here again as the service had been lovely. Thank you guys!

The restaurant is siruated in a first floor over the canal and the views are increíbles. The restaurant entrance has a lift and also stairs. You are welcome at the entrance and sitting by a big table, very well presented. The service is really good and the food cames quickly. As It was a mothers day, they offered flowers to every mother. Very tasty food and good prices. Recommended!

This is becoming our favourite place to eat when we visit Birmingham to go to the symphony hall or the Rep. Great menu choices . I have tried three main courses now and I particularly like the salmon with noodles. My daughter loves the curries . You need to be happy to sit on long tables and share with others when it is busy Lovely views through the large windows to the canal The waiters are happy to talk you through the menu and recommend the favourites.

The noise was so bad we could hardly hear the waiter talking to us. When I asked him to repeat, in a very polite way, he followed with an eye rolled and with an awful attitude to tell me how the food was served. Extremely disappointing. Ordered Chicken & prawn Cha Han. What arrived tasted like burnt plastic!! They were so measly with the ingredients - as much chicken as would fit into a level table spoon, and about 5 prawns; a couple of endamame beans, a pair of crudely cut mushrooms, maybe 10 pieces of sweetcorn. The rest, a couple of lumps of red bell pepper, and then just sticky rice with some pink stuff. Their own recipe calls for more chicken. And they sting £13 for this?!?!? Service was poor too - 4 chefs, and 4 sefving staff in a place with maybe 20 customers. Took an age to get served, and then a long wait for the food. Shocking. Won't be going back - what an absolute rip-off.

Went there for a date night - wonderful service, delicious food, great experience all round. Prices are reasonable for the food served. Dishes took a while to arrive, but not unreasonable waiting times. We ordered the beef ramen, the pad Thai and the steamed buns as a side, along with cherry blossom lemonade and green teas. All was delicious and would happily eat here again. Portion sizes were very generous - not ridiculous, but you definitely won't be leaving hungry! Toilet facilities were clean and nice.

Served rotten prawns and the whole situation was handled very poorly!!! The prawn stank from a mile away and there’s no way the chef ARON wouldn’t have smelt that while cooking which means it was severed KNOWINGLY… Thomas the manager also didn’t handle it well at all… I will NEVER come here again!!

A great restaurant with ample space and seating. Accessible with a lift if you struggle to use stairs or are coming with younger children. The staff were attentive, friendly, polite and efficient. The food was prepared and dished up in really good time and the cost is reflective of, if not better than what you get. The area is maintained with a good level of cleanliness and the staff were prompt in cleaning down after customers had finished. You can pay via QR code on the table making for a fast departure or you can pay the traditional way with the staff. The atmosphere at this time (Sunday afternoon) was middling, some noise from younger children, but that's to be expected, everyone seemed happy and well catered for. You can take home left overs in take out boxes as the portions are very reasonable I opted for this. Generally Wagamamas is busy and can be a little overwhelming, especially for those with sensory sensitivity, however Sundays visit was pleasant and low level stimulation. I would recommend this specific restaurant location for those who enjoy being around a vibrant and comfortable atmosphere both inside and out. Brindley place is a lovely area that is situated in and around the canal basin and there's lots to do in the immediate area. In warm weather external areas are delightful to wander around and it's all very visually pleasing.

Me and my friends went for dinner to Wagamama. We were served by Barnabas who helped us choose each dish and according to our preferences also chose the spiciness. the food was delicious 5 stars for the service and 5 stars for the food. we will definitely come back here

The Wagamama is located at the floor above pitcher and piano. There is both stairs and lift access. Typical Wagamama seating with ample space for small and large groups. The service is quick and engaging. The food was served hot and very sumptuous. Good array of drinks and eating options for vegans and vegetarians. We ordered a few mocktails, a beer, a prawn curry dish, chicken katsu curry and a chocolate dessert. Would love to go back again. Look at parking options around Brindley place and broad street.
