Sultan Lounge in Birmingham

Love the place, I go there whenever I can. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are super friendly, would love it if some music was played to make the atmosphere better.

Sultans is like my home. Hospitality is on point, everyone is friendly. Also being a huge foodie, the food of the menu is delicious, my go to is the chicken shawarma on a plate but spicy. Chefs are very accommodating. Plus the spontaneous home cooked dishes from Ozzy are amazing. Her curries and bakes. My food from earlier this evening, keema pasta bake and hot brownies and custard. All homemade by Ozzy! You will not be disappointed . Food and shisha is on point!!!

Great venue which really caters to your individual needs.i attended a ladies night that was brilliant with a great finger buffet, well priced sheesha and lovely, welcoming staff. Traditional place with values to match!

I have been attending Sultan on and off for a while now. My office for my previous job was just down the road so I'd attend 3 to 4 times a week, now it's less frequent but Sultan is my go to spot. High quality shisha, excellent customer service, with the staff being kind enough to remember by usual order (pomegranate peach raspberry shisha + Rubicon passion) and prepare it before I have even made the order. Jabar is a great guy as are the rest of the team who have been so welcoming. Not to bring a negative, but I have read some confusing reviews about how this place treats black people differently, but as a black person myself I have had nothing but respect, consideration and warm welcoming from the team at Sultan - and urge people who have not attended themselves to not be swayed by those bitter reviews. It is an excellent place for ALL people no matter your background, and you will see that to be the case when you come.

Food is good espically lamb chuncks,beef burger,wellcoming from Jabbar and jamal very politely,moen and mohammed have a good services for shisha and charcoal,jamella like my mother and also made a good kurdish and black ment tea with nice politely smile, in the nd the secearuty very gentleman and polite ,I hope good future for whole staff members , the best shisha in Brums when I arrived in this country I felt like home🥰💞.

I had my engagement party at their lounge which was a small affair. The room was very well decorated and they did everything to my liking including cake, food and tea. They also used a smoke bubble machine for the first time which was very cool! I would recommend for small parties as the room is very well set for entertainment.

I went early morning. It was advertised to open at 10.30am but opened just after 11am. May need to update hours on google. The shisha was very good, the staff behind the counter and in shisha cafe were kind, attentive and helpful. A real good experience. Really enjoy visiting when in Birmingham

Bad food Shisha not made properly and staff arrogant .will definitely not visit again

If you want peace AVOID AVOID this place I thought I had found a place I could frequently go to and call my local spot. However after having been here a few times I can tell that this place is RACIST and the male staff are very RUDE and have no manners and no customer service skills! The only nice person is the auntie at the till ! The staff are hostile and will come clear your table without even asking if your finished - this happened so many times and I ignored but the final straw was: When we had one of the male staff following us around after a misunderstanding of where we can be seated shouting at us saying “you can leave this place if your not happy” aggressively ! All because we asked if we could sit in their VIP area because we had no idea it was a VIP area that was for paying members only. This man FOLLOWED us all the way back to the till still speaking so loudly telling us we can take our business elsewhere - and as two women we felt harassed and intimidated. Once we got back to the till he said something in his language and the man at the till joined in and didn’t even ask what happened and if everything is ok. Honestly I will never forget this day it felt so horrible and I cant believe the unprofessionalism and their reaction and harassment to such a small misunderstanding !

Love this lounge - they do a shisha to your individual preference, it’s ideal to sit outside in a covered outside area in summer as it doesn’t get too smokey, the staff are changing coals quite often so the shisha lasts for a long time. Tasty and decently priced food too. Definitely recommend!

Flipping hell!!! Me and my friends accidentally fell here after googling nice food and lounge. We were starving as we drove from Rotherham to eat and chill in Birmingham, the place we wanted to eat was out of food and we came here. When we looked at the outside sitting area and atmosphere we got really excited, we ordered food and a quick starter, to be fair the sitting area was quite nice and staff were nice too but everything fell apart when the starter arrived 😖 frozen food were warmed up and the taste was awful, we thought no problem the main course will be delicious but honestly I have never tasted anything so tasteless in my life, after the food we ordered shisha and goodness me apart from the first couple of drags it was like smoking coal and it was burning throat, very disappointing, what a shame for such a nice place

Got shisha and food while I sat and did some work. Atmosphere was good, however I was sat next to a group playing dominoes and I asked to move. The staff were accommodating and fulfilled my request. Shisha was good and so was food.

Their Shisha (Hookah) is too good. Al Fakhar flavors are better. Apple Mint Grapes, Peach and Water melon are good. Their tea is fine. Ambiance indoor and outdoor both are beautiful.

The food and shisha here ate both on point 💯 This lounge has a very homely and comfy environment. The staff are so friendly and will always accommodate you on orders. The food is definitely one reason I come back here, especially the breakfast!

First visit was group and it was okay . Second visit was myself. No greeting no one take the order . Then some people came near me so someone came and then I gave my order . He asked me is it your first time I told him yes. He asked me to order Inside. Felt offended but I passed it . Inside I ordered and paid and it when I mentioned it wasn't my first time but I don't think it makes any difference The guy on the cashier Instead of apologizing and explain the reason , he insisted that he didn't see me befoe as if he is policemen or security. I couldn't take it anymore and cancel my order and left . Didn't feel respected. Related to color or not I am not sure . Maybe the Owner of the place don't want any more new customer. Otherwise they will treat the new customer better .

Stumbled into Sultan by accident, having taken the wrong road off Fiveways. However, the food was very reasonable, despite being priced at the budget end of the spectrum. Menu with pictures of the food is usually a bad sign, but it actually was ok. The tabbouleh salad was fine and the spiced baked sea bass super. They even let me use their wi-fi, which was appreciated. For those who want alcoholic drinks they aren't available. Happy to return.

I made the mistake of bringing my family here, never again. The service was atrocious and when the food finally arrived, I was shocked at the size of the portion. The kebabs were frozen packet kebabs , the wings were dry and flavourless the pasta was also a ready meal. I feel completely ripped off!! Do not go here unless you want shisha.

Absolutely disgusting the shisha was awful and we ordered the blue mock tails the WORST drinks I’ve ever had in my life way too much LIME got sick there and came home ended up vomiting for 20 minutes and an extremely bad headache will never go there again!!!! Horrendous

I'm going there almost everyday now. Thank you for your delicious food and friendly service. You can see me around with different friends and they are all loving it. For me it's like bringing the Mediterranean atmosphere to the city centre.

Well it’s been over a year since my last review. Sultans have made a massive improvement to the lounge and restaurant. Staff are amazingly friendly and the owner is a wonderful person. Great shisha lemon and mint :)

Love this place !! Soon as we got there was greeted by the owner followed by his great team. Been awhile since we last visited due to covid-19 and them getting work done but the place looks amazing with their refurb. The weather was great .. place looked good and had a great smoke too. We trust the Sultan team so we choose FBI and let them work their magic on a 2nd one .. which by the way was good. Whilst there we ordered some lunch which again tasted beautiful. All in all nice way to start our day. Thank you Oz and Team Sultan and see you again soon im sure 😁

Nice seating outside and warm the only place I spend Saturday night with friends and enjoy the fruit and the tea my friends the enjoy the shisha if I spell it right I Recommend this place to all friend the best things I like more is the environment it is so nice the Staff are so friendly I forget one thing the baclava is very nice as well I didn’t try the food but I now one off the chef I expect delicious food👍

Poor customer service, poor quality food. Sheesha is also poor. The pipes were not clean. Location is good with parking available and decor plus interior good. The one star is for the total lack of customer service and poor quality food plus sheesha. We sat outside, which is a nice touch and on a warm day it’s perfect and we expected to have a brilliant time. Really felt let down by rude staff, people who spoke to us appeared totally disinterested and didn’t listen. Aggressive towards us when we tried to make them aware of mistakes they made in the food we ordered. 4 girls on our own felt a little threatened to be honest. We paid and left. Will not be returning.

Upon entrance, no one to properly greet us. About half the items on the menu were not available. This was very disappointing and it ruined our girl's day out. The food quality was poor and the people serving us appeared very disinterested in service us. The attitude was like we should be grateful that they have allowed us to enter their establishment without paying. We were not happy with that. We are happy to pay providing the standard of service is top notch and it was not. The sheesha was very poor quality, the pipes were leaking and it was very harsh on the throat. We asked for it to be changed and the worker there told us we had to buy a new sheesha or leave. Shocking! This place has no concept of customer service. We left very disappointed and upset. Will not be returning here.

This place allows entry on discretion and applies an overty profiling of clients. I have made a formal complaint with the appropriate authorities and also contacted the local press. Very poor quality sheesha, we will not be returning. Food was mediocre. Dont waste your time and money with this place, go elsewhere.

I really do not care about your lounge or about setting another foot in it!!! You are saying I’m banned like I actually care. I actually regret every penny I spent on that place and that went into your pocket and regret ever bringing new customers to the place. BTW I’m not the only one who referenced your lounge and your treatment of customers as discriminatory and rude!!! There several reviews like mine too. All you have to do, is look at the amount of the 1 star reviews and be happy I gave the place 4. The 4 is not for you it is for the nice staff, the Shisha and the food. Unfortunately, instead of taking the criticism, you just attack the reviewers by calling them disrespectful. Alhamdulielah every single person who served me at your lounge have my respect including the workers mohammed and the other guys, they are all nice ppl and I have never disrespected any of them, but again you have to say that I was disrespectful because you could Not actually meet criticism with a nice reply other than criticizing back. When it come to opening a business, We already have shisha and restaurant businesses in Saudi and we have never discriminated against our customers and they love us. Very nice Shisha but their pipes sometimes leaks which gives headache. The reason I changed my rating is because I’m a Muslim and Muslims always say the truth. Jabbar who is the owner was so rude to me on multiple occasions and to be fair I felt like I’m discriminated against. I honestly don’t know what is his problem. I took one star off just because of this fact. I’m not setting another foot there and for my friends please do whatever you like I honestly don’t care. Thank you to the staff, the lady at the counter who always smiles when taking orders and Mohammed the Arab guy. These two are the best in that place.
