Meat was good but the veg could have been hotter. While I appreciate other bookings were due, felt rushed into paying initially and then rushed at the end.

Do not visit this pub. They have a car park contiguous with the pub apparently owned separately. You have to fill in your car reg in the pub. Notices in the car park and pub are not obvious. Neither my friend not I saw any. Now I have a £100 fine. The landlord couldn't be bothered to say "Have you come by car? You need to fill in your reg". 2 seconds to do that. No-one else in the pub at the time so no excuse he was too busy.

We came in on Sunday 23 Feb 15 of us O.m.g. I've never had a carvery roast like this ever. everything cooked to perfection .The pork belly was divine ,so much choice and the price amazing the staff are great very friendly. Thankyou we will see you again

Myself and three friends went for Sunday lunch, having just moved nearby and this now being my local. Really wonderful food, at an extremely reasonable price - a special mention for the gammon, it was cooked to perfection! Can’t wait to utilize this pub more!

Food was not hot just warmish the beef was tough no gravy as this had been neglected to be refilled cheap for the price but I suppose you pay for what you get .a shame.

Landlords Mick and Helen looked so happy and welcomed us and other guests , with enthusiasm, to their clean and comfortably warm pub. We loved the Christmassy atmosphere! The food was a Sunday lunch carvery of good honest British roast with plentiful veggies and all the trimmings, for an unbelievable £10. It's not gourmet food - so stay away moaners and go and pay three times the price elsewhere. It is great value for money in a comfortable pub with hardworking and friendly landlords and staff.

There's strange wet dog aroma in this place. However, service with a smile and lovely creamy pints of stout. If you're out and about and find yourself in doubt, swing by Wilton road's 2nd best pub to see what it's all about. The carpets may smell, but it adds character and a good conversation starter.

Nice break to my journey to Eastbourne.

What a delicious meal we had here! Beautiful dishes and very friendly staff.

Use to really love this place, but they advertise promos on there facebook that bar staff know nothing about, when we then asked about promotions or events that weve seen on the facebook page, i was then spoke to like i was an idiot, because as the lady behind the bar said, she didnt know, the brown hair lady who works behind the bar is so grumpy and rude, and not for the first time. Its 2rd time of being for there sl called ladies night when staff behind bar did not know how to make the cocktails there where offered and then was rude to us,Use to go here all the time with a group of about 5 of us but after all of us being spoke to like this and to feel such an inconvenient on a quite evening cant see us going back again, a shame a good pub that's sadly lacking good service, some of of that staff are brilliant but sadly let down by ones that cleary dont want to be there.

Had a wonderful works Christmas doo here in December, a great time was had by all for a very reasonable price!. Landlady went to great lengths to make sure all were happy!!

Very quiet for such a large pub only 4 of us in there and one was the barmaid who kept being chatted up by one of the customers and playing pool

Popped in late Birthday meal.The food was OK nothing to impress you with a wow factor because it came out cold and had to be warmed up in a microwave. Service could have been better but non of the staff were rude. Had no atmosphere.

We waited 40 minutes for food, I wouldn't give to someone's cat. And I don't like cats.

Our waitress Sandy was a total star, she was funny, helpful, very chatty and gave great advice on the menu and the attractions of Salisbury!

Great place for a pint and well priced bite to eat. Nothing really special but loads better than it was. I'm going to try a breakfast there soon!

This pub is not somewhere I will visit again, it is uncouth, and the atmosphere is not welcoming. It is full of young yobs who set a very bad impression.

On the plus side they took a lot of care to accommodate my disabled friend in a wheelchair. On the more negative side we thought the meal was a bit pricey and the garlic mushroom starter was cold. They did offer to replace it though. On the whole a "not bad" experience.

Wow! Just WOW! We have just had a meal here after what seems an age, but we definitely won't be leaving it as long next time. Stacie is the chef, everything homemade, lasagne, onion rings, garlic bread, just delicious. Great service as well. Totally recommend. Food service I believe is 12-3 & 6-9. Totally worth a visit. Good prices as well.

Today 29th January 2023, was our first time in this pub. Very friendly people . The young ladies serving were very nice and pleasant. Food was very enjoyable, I just had to book for this coming Sunday 5th February. If first impressions are to go by, I would recommend this lovely pub.

The girls that run this place very nice to my family we have dinner good all round.

Simple straight forward and easy pub grub for lunch. Waitress was superb, food came quickly, was decent. Amusing menu item names include "Oh Briehave" "Gordon Hamsey" pub was busy with locals and a pool table. Good atmosphere, maybe nice to have more choices but cannot fault it

The food was hot and veg was cooked to perfection! A new manager was doing a great job with new surroundings and got food out in 10 minutes! Thanks for a great experience to you all.

The food is really good and well priced, though drinks prices are a bit steep - more city centre prices than out of city cost, which probably explains why it is always fairly quiet. Staff in the evenings are great, pleasant and really helpful and the regulars are always welcoming - great place

We had a wonderful meal on the 22nd Dec at the Horse and Groom. The brie starter and salmon main were delicious. We held my Gran's wake there the next day. The staff had a wonderful buffet spread, had hot drinks available as and when and served us very quickly at the bar. They made a very difficult day a lot easier by taking care of everything. Thank you so very much!

Manager was lovely, staff were fantastic and the food was superb! Would recommend and definitely visit again!

To much dog poo in the garden that dosnt get cleaned up and the surfaces is not level and a hazard to kids playing it in

It's OK, standard offering of lagers and one ale. Personally, I prefer a wider selection of ales and craft beers. Cheap pub food which was decent.

Can look a bit rugged but staff and locals are friendly enough. Good range of drinks. Food is of a good standard too.

We have just had the midweek 2 for a tenner. Wow what great quality. Liver and Bacon, Beef Chilli and Rump steak. All very well cooked, perfectly fresh. Wholly recommended. I never write reviews.

Being new to Salisbury I tried this pub out on the way home one day. A group of locals invited me over to join them and could not have made me more welcome. The bar staff, in her mid-twenties, was really sweet and friendly and could not do enough to make me feel at home, and I cant thank her enough. Good beer, good food, good people, good fun in this Tardis like pub. Great.
