Decent local pub. Mixed age crowd. Good tunes. Didn’t have food

Food is AMAZING and very well priced! Can tell it's fresh and homemade. We had the salt and pepper chicken pizza and the steak sandwich with some proper beer-battered onion rings! Massive portions. Great outside area and service was very quick. Damian the bar man was very friendly and chatty. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back!

Pleasant to sit outside to eat, food underwhelming, had club sandwich, lots of sliced white bread, chicken and bacon ok served with overdone frozen fries, very disappointing.

Had a trip to Greenbooth with Boothroyd as he fancied a pub lunch on a hot Summer Wednesday afternoon. Neither the White Lion nor The Bridge Inn were doing food. Had spotted this pub on the way so returned here. Three ales but as Booth was driving he had a shandy. Some outdoor seating at front but lots to the rear on two sides of a bowling green. Small car park also to rear. The righthand room needs a refurb...the other side near the toilets is nicer. There is a rear Pool room. Had a lovely Haddock but the hand cut chips were not as crispy as I like. Booth had a spicey burger and fries which was really good.

Brilliant place. Great music, lovely pub, seating outside at the back.

Called in with my husband for a drink. It was cold outside so we went in. Guy sat at the bar being extremely loud and swearing loudly. Not impressed if he is the manager !

Friendly staff really good atmosphere and the food is superb. We have had several meals there and we can't fault it.

After a lovely meal last year, we booked the Horse and Farrier for our Christmas dinner, but unfortunately left feeling very disappointed. Our booking was for 3:30pm, but due to delays we were not sat down until around 4pm, which we weren't too fussed about. These things happen. However, it was a good 45 minutes before our first course arrived. The soup was adequate, not piping hot and the bowl quite shallow but it was decent. It was then almost an hour before we received our main course, by which time we were all very hungry. When it finally arrived, our main courses were very underwhelming. Thin turkey wrapped around some stuffing, two roast potatoes each which seemed suspiciously like Aunt Bessie's frozen potatoes with no crisp or taste to them, two very poor-looking and tiny pigs in blankets with barely any bacon, and ONE slice of carrot, parsnip and brocolli. Not exactly "all the trimmings" as stated on the menu. To make matters worse, whilst all other tables were given gravy, ours (the last table to be served) was not automatically given any, and when asked, the waitress said she'd "have to check if there was any". The vegetarian meals in our party were also lacklustre, with the seabass being announced by the waitress as "cod". When questioned, she seemed nervous, as if she had let something slip. The desserts, which again arrived after a lengthily delay, were adequate, besides having to wait another 10 minutes for spoons to be given to eat them with. In summary, a disappointing Christmas dinner. We did not leave feeling either full or impressed with the taste or quality of the food we received. When asked about the delays, the bar manager said they had "only a small kitchen and oven", which hardly seems like a reasonable excuse. Why book more people than your facilities could cope with? I will emphasise that the staff who served us were polite throughout and sympathetic when we raised our concerns. We will likely eat here again as we have had many meals here before which have been lovely, but next Christmas we will definitely not be returning.

I attended the breakfast with Santa event on Saturday morning with my young son and what an amazing experience and the price was well worth it! Santa and Mrs Claus were amazing it was magical and the food was fantastic too! I am so glad we booked on well worth the money and much better than the small over priced grottos with 5 mins with Santa! Thank you so much 💙

Great pub with friendly staff and the new food offering is excellent. I recommend the stilton and mushroom tagliatelle. Will be back 😊 Update they also do a wonderful and tasty Vegan burger. 😋

Great little gem, really pleased with our visit here today. Food was great and excellent portion sizes, the roast was cracking. Looking forward to coming back again!

I had pie and mash which cost me £13. It was very nice but not worth that amount of money if I’m being honest. The gravy was lovely. A nice clean place with friendly staff

Best pub in Norden. Apart from the odd arrogant customer who’s brought there bad day into the pub the pub is the best about town. Good food,atmosphere and best of all the beers always cold! Always a added bonus when there is attentive attractive bar staff 😂

Fabulous local pub! Great range of products, fairly priced with amazing, knowledgable staff! Food is delicious and came quickly. Will definitely be returning soon! - bonus - good beer garden with all day sun!

The best pub burger I have ever had. Has it ever been entered into a competition? It was amazing! As for the venue itself, it's very nice. Great decor and there's even a pool table to play pool. Not very often you find that! I would highly recommend visiting after a walk on the reservoir :) thanks for a great time! Also they are dog friendly!!!!

Inside, the pub has been opened up and the rooms far more modern and open plan. The back room behind the bar has a pool table and outside a seating area overlooking a very big bowling green. Very pleasant in the summer sun

Food was really good, better than I expected. My only niggle being that I though the garlic bread was a little dry. Definitely go again.

Great food, extensive menu and at the right price! A refreshing change from other establishments in Norden and Bamford. Plenty of outdoor space when the suns out.

Bit disappointed with the food. 3 of us ordered the Sunday lunch and both the beef and Turkey were lovely and although plenty of veg- stuffing balls were like granite unable to cut through so left. Roast potatoes undercooked. But a lovely spot to have lunch and the staff were nice.

Didnt get served at bar after trying twice at a bowling match, and a young girl who is disabled was refused permission to go to toilet because she had no mask. She is exempt.

Food was lovely, only had a soft drink so cant really comment on the drinks but the selection seemed quite wide. Quite a long wait on food but it was very busy being the first day you could sit outside of pubs. Would definitely go again.

Popped in for a couple of drinks after the football. Feeling a little hungry we had a couple of cracking starters for £8. Fantastic value food and lots more to choose from on the menu. Great welcome as ever. Cosy winter pub and lovely outdooor spaces when better weather arrives later in the year.

Bar staff charging wrong amount for drinks. On two occasions charged me £3.50 instead of £3.30. My friend joined us and I gave him £4.00 for his drink he came back and gave me 50p change also charged £3.50 for a £3.30 drink. I confronted the bar staff about the wrong prices and they denied that they charge me the wrong prices. The barman came back to us with a handful of till receipts showing the correct price being tilled up. I said that proves the right amount was entered into the till but you still over charged me so where did the difference go. I was made out to be a liar by the barman and I will not be going in this pub again.

Family Sunday meal. The food was excellent and good value for money. Food cooked to order so you will wait a little longer but well worth it.

Called in for a family meal last Sunday. We didn't book as it was a last minute decision but thought we would try. We received a warm (genuine) reception and were really looked after. With the new decor and management this pub is now a real gem and does not try to be anything other than a traditional village pub serving good food and beer in a nice warm atmosphere...a refreshing change. Will be returning many times.

Went in New Years Eve after contacting the pub to find out what was on, tickets etc. I got told that they don't believe in charging to come in and there would be an in house stereo playing. Not a problem sounds great. We arrive no music playing, the female bar tender looked like she had a slapped arse. A smile is a huge effort apparently and clearly too much to ask from someone who works in the service industry. The decor has been updated but has no atmosphere , I won't be going back!!

Went in whilst waiting for takeaway. I felt sick from the stench of pee whist sitting at the bar! The pub just feel grubby and unwelcoming. Exensive? The Star the Turf the cricket club the brown cow and the bridge all.... cheaper and friemdlier by far. I find the land lady challenging the comments on here unprofessional and should be taken on board and or fed back to make the pub a better more approachable place to be. We let you know these things because we care about the farrier not to attack or insult you personally try not to take it like that and look at the comments as a professional wanting to make it better.

Walked in with gift for friend, in a bag and greeted by barman telling me I couldn't bring outside food in. Classy way to greet new customers. Toilet and a bar amateurishly painted in the same asylum white. Both as dirty. Apparently there's a loyalty card scheme, but only for regulars?!? Way to build a business. Beer more expensive than Cow and none of the character. Richard come back.

Very expensive and feels soul-less here now. Shame; it used to be a great pub.

This is the worst pub I’ve ever been in. Door handles are falling off. Prices are ridiculous the pub is a on a slant. The atmosphere is about as lively as a mortuary. £10 for a flat coke a Diet Coke and a pint of OK lager. Would not recommend.
